I know the sad Mattel distribution has been discussed to death, but I'm wondering if more folks here are turning to Ebay scalpers for product? I've hunted and hunted for some figures and am about ready to throw in the towel. Are there figures you are still holding out hope you will find someday, or have you bought them from a reseller or just lost interest?
The only figure I've bought so far from Ebay has been Legends 6 Eddie, but I am looking at some now because I am so sick of fruitless searches. The last thing I want to do is feed the scalpers, but things have become really crappy.

I am looking for e14 booker but I may just get it off eBay or some site. It's a pain in the ass trying to get there on shipment days hoping something new comes out or gets out out I would ratet spend the extra few bucks and just have it.

Just try to get something from the Classifieds first, eBay should be last resort.

I just go and buy figures in the store. when I'm not looking for anything is when I find something I want haha. RSC I will sometimes buy from if I know for sure the figure is something i can't find in stores. Just something about going to the store every now and then and finding something means more to me than buying it online. I almost won't buy figures off ebay bc of how ridicilous some people charge for them. Like the Miz elite 11 charging for 70 bucks with 10 shipped. sorry I don't want any figure that bad lol.

I've gotten to the point where I just look at the figures online and don't purchase. I cannot justify spending $60 for elite 11 CM Punk. I have one Mattel figure in Daniel Bryan's first basic figure.

But yeah, I hate scalpers. I wish it was somehow illegal. Every time I read someone post, "Hey I went to the store and I found all the new sets so I bought them all and posted them ebay." It's like, great job bunghole, why don't you get a real job so you don't have to screw collectors over, assmunch.

I'm not buying from scalpers, but I'm not buying much in stores either. In the past 6 months the only thing I've found in stores that I wanted was Lalyla and Brodus Clay. It really has gotten to the point where collecting these things is next to impossible in my neck of the woods.

I don't live anywhere close to somewhere that sells figures so I just look around online till I find one close to store prices, I'd spend so much in gas to get close to stores that a few extra doesn't matter. Luckily theres not many that I want. I got RTruth's new elite for under $18 shipped moc, and the new basic punk for $15 shipped. I know I'll be spending some extra to get Sin Cara and Diesel though.

Sadly, yeah. It's not really just Mattel. Hasbro has the same problems. I bet the most scalped figure on ebay recently was Storm Shadow from the Renegades series. I payed around $40. It was the only Joe in 30 years I couldn't find at retail. I swear the majority of those figures were bought to resell. Storm Shadow = 1 per case. No Walmarts in my area carry their own Avengers exclusives. I paid $40 for a $15 Hulk figure. Star Wars nearly non existent at retail. Go on any message board, you'll hear the same complaints about pack out and distribution.

Yes and no. I find myself ordering offline a lot more for Elite's though. My TRU got Elite 14 in over two months ago but I missed out so I ordered Booker T & Bossman on WWEShop and ordered The Rock off amazon. I only paid a couple more for them than stores and in reality spent about the same amount of money because I would of wasted more on gas. I also just recently ordered the Elite 15 figures I needed off WWEShop. My Elite 16 CM Punk came from someone on here. I dropped $32 shipped on him which seemed like a lot but looking back it really wasn't as much considering what its going for now.
So yeah I'm buying most of my stuff online before just so that I can get it. Which sucks and makes me have to cut down and getting other figures I want but can't afford. One thing I did miss about Jakks was that if I wanted a figure I always had it through out pretty much their entire run with very few exceptions.

Nope. If I can't get it from RSC or mass retail I just don't get it. I refuse to buy anything from ebay/scalpers

Distibution in Canada is so bad we only get 2 elites per series, and ive only seen hbk, batista, cena, undertaker, rey and mark henry. Ebay is pretty much my only option

Truth, this site has more scalpers than eBay. I've been buying from ebay for a while now, retail is a joke and online retailers unless you're up at 4am everyday you tend to miss the figs you want so I just wait it out and can usually score things on ebay for reasonable prices.

I guess Im one of the lucky ones. Ive managed to find every figure Ive wanted at retail. You just have to be patient, some areas in the country get the newer sets alot sooner than other areas. I buy the ones that I know wont be around for long and wait for store sales to fill in the cracks of my collection.

I only buy pay retail price or less, and the only Mattel figure I've wanted so far that I haven't been able to find was RRH HBK. Patience really pays off.
