This news just in on WWE's Facebook and Website: www.wwe.com/shows/raw/2013-04-29/john-cena-injured-on-wwe-european-tour-26111113----------------------- WWE.com has learned that WWE Champion John Cena sustained an injury during WWE's European tour. The WWE Champion injured his right Achilles tendon while battling Ryback. The injury raises questions about the scheduled match between Cena and Ryback at Extreme Rules on May 19. What lies ahead for the Cenation leader? Does this put Ryback one step closer to capturing the WWE Title? There are no details yet about Cena's expected recovery time. For more, stay with WWE.com and tune in to Monday’s Raw at 8/7 CT on USA Network. ----------------------- Achilles tendons are serious stuff. That was what Edge suffered from at one point. Providing it's true, could be pretty worrying for WWE.

Achilles Tendon injuries tend to be pretty bad. Fair chance he won't make Extreme Rules, 3 weeks may not be enough.

Not the first time Ryback has injured the champion (he injured Punk's knee), and he's really not been in the company long enough to get away with this.
Over or not, they should cut their losses with him and move onto someone else.

The main headline should be:
CM Punk's Holiday in Jeopardy After Ryback Botch.
Hope Cena's ok, just hope he can't wrestle for a wee while.

They'll have Ryback injure him on Raw, or just say Ryback injured him on the tour.
But if Cena can't go at Extreme Rules, who could possibly replace him?

Ouch. Like others have said, Edge's was bad--career threatening, if I recall. Rough injury to get. Makes me cringe just thinking about it. Edge was out from July all the way until the next year's Rumble. If nothing else, it'll definitely be interesting to see what comes of this.

Devastating if legit, both for Cena and the company. Those injuries are a ton of work to come back from and take a long time. For the WWE, lets face it, they CANNOT afford to lose Cena. Cena, whether you like him or not, is the man in the company and the guy that sells the tickets. Losing him for an extended period of time could be terrible for WWE's bottom line. But for the rest of the roster, it would be a chance for them to step up and get an opportunity they may not have gotten otherwise, so it can go both ways. Either way, if it is real then it is not what WWE wants to have happen at all.

If this is true/legit....I never like seeing a guy hurt, but part of me is kind of happy if Cena has to miss an extended period of time. To see the downward spiral and panic of this company because they refuse to attempt to make the fans care about anyone but Cena in the main event, now it will come back to bit them in the ass HARD
Of course, they'll probably just transition the WWE title to Sheamus or Orton letting either one of those 2 feud with Ryback, and rinse wash repeat

This could either be blessing or curse for the company. Hope Cena's okay though.

the question, then is what to do with him being WWE Champion? if he needs to be out for an extended period of time, they HAVE to take the Title off of him. so,do they ask him to gut it through and drop it to Ryback? strip him of the title on Monday? do a Battle Royal or tournament to crown a new Champion? lots of different scenerio's could come out of this.
provided,of course,it's not a work, and not just being made for storyline purposes.

Get rid of Lawler and Cole then make him commentators with JBL and Punk!

Achilles injuries are a bitch. I hope it is a work for his sake just as a human. It seems like when Cena gets hurt he gets hurt ing bad. I feel bad for the guy if it turns out to be true though.

The way the article is written screams it's a work.
I guess we'll have to tun into Monday Night Raw to find out, folks!

Honestly think it's a work.
If it's not though, I can imagine that we'll see someone move into the main event scene (i.e. Ryback when Cena was last injured) this week on RAW.

I'll wait to hear more on it. The story just says its injured. Doesn't say how serious the injury is. For all we know they could keep him off Extreme Rules for precautionary reasons. Also, I don't see anywhere in the story where it says the injury was the result of a Ryback botch. Cena could have jumped off the apron and landed funny.

If he is injured I can't see him taking much time off, he will probably still be there in some way.
Punk is already having time off I don't think they want Cena to either, they will be screwed.
Isn't Cena having time off for three weeks sometime anyway?
