Could be worse. Liverpool will hopefully stutter now they have more games to play and we'll take advantage of the lack of Europe. Excited for the summer. Yeah but Liverpool will strengthen though. Most United supporters seem to forget that and say "This squad won't be able to cope with CL next season!". Rodgers' and Liverpool's signings in recent years have been very mixed. Its still possible (albeit unlikely) that Suarez will move abroad. The fact that they had 15+ less games that their main title rivals and more training sessions nearly every week cannot be underestimated. I think next season City & Chelsea will be going for the title, whilst us, Liverpool and Arsenal fight it out for third and fourth. I'll be optimistic and say we'll get third. Arsenal are weaker than Liverpool but Wenger always gets Champions League so it'll be interesting.

Mourinho gone from a man crush of mine to a complete scumbag in the space of a season. ing hate him at Chelsea. Delusional as well saying Suarez didn't deserve player of the year over Dzeko.

Rodgers' and Liverpool's signings in recent years have been very mixed. Sadly I really agree on this and even our key men like Suarez and Sturridge just falter when pressure's on them. We definitely need to strengthen wisely. The rumors of Lallana signing before the World Cup is promising but I won't believe it til I see him at Melwood. Mourinho gone from a man crush of mine to a complete scumbag in the space of a season. ing hate him at Chelsea. Delusional as well saying Suarez didn't deserve player of the year over Dzeko. The Real job has really broken him... he sounds like a deranged senile man these days. But credit to him, he takes attention away from his players. Still shocked at his failure comments towards Wenger, classless...

Keep their core, get Lallana in before the World Cup so they're not spending too much on him, and add a bit more then I see no reason why they can't keep it up next season under Rodgers.
Yes they've been lucky with injuries and not had any European football but I think people underestimate just how good their squad is albeit alot of inconsistency.

But I'm not sure this current United squad without Sir Alex in charge would have finished in the top 4 this season even without CL football. They need major re-constructive work unlike City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool who just need improvement in a couple areas. I do agree that it will be tougher next season for Liverpool. The main priority for them should just to be finishing in the top 4 again. They need a few stable seasons of Champions League under their belt and getting in some quality players before they can become a Chelsea/Man City who will be challenging for all trophies.

To finish 2nd is great achievement when at the start of the season people thought we would only challenge for 4th at best. Hopefully in the summer we can improve our defence and add a bit of quality to the squad and hopefully improve next season.

If we had a top manager straight away and didn't bungle the first transfer window I think we would've got top 4. If we had SAF I think we would've come top 3 minimum with a title challenge. We could've even won it with a bit of luck. Glad to see we've cracked on with Luke Shaw. £27m is a bit steep but I think its been negotiated today with the knowledge that hes going to the World Cup and we want it done before then. If he's £27m then I expect Lallana will be over £30m.

He's had one great season? He'll be about £20m methinks.

I signed him at this point in my Football Manager game and by 2018 he was the best player in the world and won the Ballon D'Or got 15 goals a season from left back too, and scored the winner in a CL final.

Like Shaw may be overpriced as he is English but there is no doubt he is a future star. Good investment by United.

Pepe Mel is officially gone. No surprise there.
Sad for him, he seemed a hard working bloke who was put into a no-win situation. God knows who's gonna be in charge next season.

Talk about burying bad news by WBA. Feel sorry for Mel too, and Clarke. Dunno who they'll get. Pardew maybe if he goes?

Not exactly thrilled with the choices, but if I had to pick out of all the free agents (since we'll never buy someone out) I'd go with Jol or Sherwood. More likely Jol.

The Man Utd job was above him but his performance there can be partly blamed on poor players, as seen by Giggs' inability to do much with them either. If he can can replicate what he did with Everton then I think West Brom could do alright under him.

I still think Moyes will have his pick of mid table clubs if available, he doesn't need to go to West Brom. I see Moyes at Newcastle if it doesn't work out for Pardew next season.
I think Sherwood will be at West Brom next season.

No offence to WBA, but Moyes is bigger than them. He was awful for United but lets not forget 10 strong years at Everton.
I think Sherwood isn't as bad as people say. Since he took over Spurs are 5th in the form table, and he actually has some interesting and good ideas if you listen to what he says. The problem is his ineloquence and 'geezer' image that causes many not to respect him (although still like him). His stunt with the fan in the dugout was great too, as was his response when asked if the fan was the next Spurs manager: "He can't be, he's English."

Someone like Newcastle or West Ham at best? Not a huge step up.
