When I saw Hogans in 2K14 I too got a little annoyed as to why we haven't seen figures of his yet. Jakks DAs/DIs are trash. We really need an elite Hollywood Hogan. I actually prefer the Black and White lightning bolts to the horrible red and yellow...

I TOTALLY AGREE. If Hogan can be in a video game theres no excuse WHATSOEVER why we cant get figures of him! The WWE is really dropping the ball on several ex talents. They could sell alot of figures. They need to sign Ric Flair, Scott Hall, Kurt Angle, and some others to figure deals.

it'll be really funny to see just about everyone try to auction off their hogan customs to buy legit mattel releases. and then people will go hunting for jakks accessories to adorn their mattel hogans-----but they were all previously scooped up for mattel customs!!!!
muahahahahahahahaha

I hate TNA's product and hulk for wasting his time there. It's so hard to follow any basic story there. He really should leave TNA. Would as many Hogan figures as they can make. As far as licensing I think it has been said already that the game licensing is under a separate contract to Mattel figure licensing.

I don't know. I think it's utter bull that they have him in the game but not in figure wise.

Come on he's been back on tv/ good graces since like Nov of last year!!!! No collection is complete without Hogan and Flair. I'd want 80s, 90s, &00s versions of both.

There is so many just Flairs they could produce from the 80s 90s 2000's. much less all the different Hogans. Lots and lots of $ there!]

I'm sure they'd love to do it and it would b good business move but it all comes down to licensing and contracts or whatever legal stuff that's involved ...

this. as soon as they are able,Mattel will give us 4 - 5 of them in the 1st year alone: Basic Current ( if he reappears on WWE TV) Basic WrestleMania Heritage Elite Flashback Battle Pack Basic ( vs Savage? Andre? Warrior? Rock? Piper? possibilities are endless!) RSC Exclusive Elite Flashback Exactly. Mattel will pump them out as if their lifes depended on it. I second this... it's going to be f'n glorious.

I think this whole Legends contract stuff is a pain in the butt. We are missing out on so many awesome wrestlers.

It's really simple, he doesn't had a legends deal with WWE and that what mattel are using to make old wrestlers.
Same reason edge isn't being made now because he isn't on that legends deal.

I can't wait til mattel gets Hogan, Flair, Hall, JHardy, Dudley Boyz, Goldberg, MTyson, BKidman, HHolly, KAngle, KShamrock, DLoBrown, and plenty more...

I'll attempt to explain this based on several completely unreliable internet sources... but I believe this is the basic synopsis;
I believe that the difference is in who owns the rights to the name....
I'm fairly certain that Terry Bollea now owns the rights to the name Hulk Hogan.... had something to do with Marvel suing WW(F) back in the day, as "Hulk" was a licensed trademark of Marvel Comics, and therefore WW(F) & Hogan were violating the copyright. Anyone remember "Incredible Hulk Hogan?" Well, Marvel wasn't too happy with the blatant rip-off of the big green monster guy...
When Hogan went south to WCW - they licensed the rights to "Hulk Hogan" for a while - then got around it creatively for a few years by calling him "Hollywood Hogan." No Hulk, no fees to Marvel...
In the early 2000's - Marvel sued Bollea and lost - as part of the settlement, Marvel awarded Bollea full rights to the name "Hulk Hogan."
To make matters more confusing - I had heard that Hogan signed the rights to the name "Hulk Hogan" and "Hulkamania" to Eric Bischoff & Jason Hervey when he got divorced in order to keep that gold-digger Linda Hogan from getting the rights as part of the divorce settlement. Once that calmed down - I assume (and hope) that Hogan got the rights back from Bischoff & Hervey. This part of the story seems strange to me - but it could be true....
So at this point - Hogan's a TNA guy, and TNA has a figure deal with JAKKS. While I'd assume that Hogan's TNA contract may bind him to TNA merchandising deals, I suppose Hogan licensed his name to 2K Sports on his own. Does TNA even have a video gaming contract with any company right now?
If Hogan licensed his figure rights to Mattel - he'd be costing TNA money by burning JAKKS. But since TNA isn't really in the video game market right now (are they?) - no harm, no foul...
That's the best I got...

I'm with this guy ^ only thing is, I read somewhere that mattel can only do people that are signed with WWE for some sort of deal. Don't think we'll get anyone else outside of a WWE contract anytime soon, whether or not the star owns his/her name and/or image WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
