TNA talent is not under a video game licensing deal, however they are under toy licensing deal.

Because Jakks owns the character license on action figures for TNA, where Hogan is employed.

The possibilities are endless. I'd be happy though if we got...
- WM III classics yellow and red
- Bash at the Beach '96
- Starrcade '97
- WM18
- Backlash 2002 return of the "yellow and red"

Hogans deal with TNA allows him to do marketing and licensing deals. Its how he can do movies and video game appearances. I'm sure part of his deal with TNA has a clause for toys and t shirts for his likeness and whatever trade marks he owns.
Its basically the same reason he appeared in Legends game wwe put out and was a voice in Saints Row 3 and can put his name on stuff like MCW.
We have to wait til either Hogan leaves or TNA is no more before we get a figure.

Mattel would make some amazing Hogans. Just look at all his customs, they look great and that's just using parts from other figures.

Because they want to torment me. I too am on their torment list. CURSE YOU MATTEL!!!! I will say this though, it seems that the Jakks TNA line is all but dead. Nothing on the horizon, I think series 10(?) is the last for the foreseeable future. Based on the embarrassing bunglement of the line and the complete lack of any new product I could see this contract dissolving in some way prior to it's natural end. If or when that would happen I don't know, but TNA can't be happy with the result. If Hogan has his own contract with Jakks outside of TNA then there is no doubt in my mind that Hogan has some sort of out if he isn't making money. Say what you will about Hogan, but one thing he knows how to do is leverage a contract in his favor. All speculation, just food for thought.

Either way what about Rip? They should make a No Holds Barred figures? I'd expect that to be way down the list, after: -Elite yellow trunks Hogan -Basic yellow trunks Hogan -Elite 2002-"current" Hogan with the tie dye -Elite Hollywood Hogan -Basic Hollywood Hogan -A Hogan figure based on how he looks when he next appears in WWE -WrestleMania IX era Hogan

Hogan's fine and all, but let's collectively focus on Flair while he's signed under a Legends deal. Don't get me wrong, I'd buy every figure Mattel would make of Hogan, but who knows how long Flair's deal will last. I'd be really upset if they never made a Flair figure before it expires.

Whether you love Hogan or hate him, I happen to love him, you know your collection has a big, glaring hole in it without him. Sure I have a decent custom...but it's just not the same and never will be.
I'd love to see:
Hulk Hogan (WM III) Hulk Hogan (late 80s, early 90s...basically I want it to look exactly like his wwe '14 roster pic, removable "python power" bandana) Hollywood Hogan (younger nWo/WCW days, w/ spray paint can and nWo belt) Hollywood Hogan (WM 18 attire, removable weight belt and bandana) Hollywood Hulk Hogan (red/yellow tie dye w/ yellow "Hulk still Rules" shirt, removable yellow bandana, boas and undisputed title) Hulk Hogan (last WWE run, no more black beard, red hulkamania shirt, removable bandana)

At SDCC it was said that Mattel is no longer signing individual deals and that if someone is under contract with WWE, THEN the door is open for them to make a figure. Which is great! That opens the door for figures Mattel has refused to ever make before. For example, if WWE signs Scott Hall or Chyna Mattel is open to making those figures. I'm interested to see where the legalities fall with WWE's rights for Hogan. My guess is everything but merchandising...

i'd also love a RSC exclusive, Elite 2-pack of Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan.
Basically an exact re-do of Jakks attempt, complete with "battle-damage" Warrior (chipped face/body paint)

didn't Hogan sign a 20 year "Legends" deal with WWE? I mean, I know we keep rehashing the same question 10 different ways, but I am curious...we just REALLY need some Hogan from mattel

Still don't understand how a tiny company like Jakks can produce garbage figures and can sign dozens of stars to keep a line going for close to 30 waves But a juggernaut like Mattel can only go for 6 waves, and even at one, two or even no FBs per wave, still can't afford to sign a few names. Im sure some of the bigger name guys would want a lot of miney, but c'mon, I'm sure Sabu or Virgil would sell their likeness for a sandwich. But even big name guys like Hogan, Flair, or Sting would easily make their money back for what they cost. They all have so many attires and are so popular that every figure of them will be instant sell outs. (Goldberg might be a little harder considering he had one popular look and would probably want more than Hogan, Flair or Sting) We're told that the WWE line is selling like crazy and doing extremely well, well then why can't we expand the line a little? Even if its signing some popular mid card guys, like the auxillery nWo, Raven, Goldust, Ahmed Johnson, Ken Shamrock, Sandman, etc

Even though their WWE products sell very well for them, they still put out a wide variety of toys. Jakks, however, HAD to crank out poor quality figures in mass because that was the only real license they had. I've been really impressed by the quality of Mattel's WWE figures lately. Instead of constantly flooding the market with random and shoddy made toys, Mattel has put a lot of focus into the actual product. I'm hoping that now they can make whomever has a WWE deal in any capacity, this opens the door for past talent to get amazing figures made.

Even if its signing some popular mid card guys, like the auxillery nWo, Raven, Goldust, Ahmed Johnson, Ken Shamrock, Sandman, etc Mattel will definitely sign Hogan, Flair and Sting when they can -- same for any big name performer that they know will make money. The only reason they haven't is because of legal roadblocks or inability to come to terms with the performers. We already got a Goldust figure. Raven has way too much bad blood with WWE and is essentially worthless when it comes to name value, so he won't be signed. Sandman and Ahmed aren't worth signing separately. Shamrock would depend on how much he wanted. Ultimately, if Mattel are paying thousands on signing guys to separate contracts, then the figure needs to make even more money to be profitable vs a figure of someone already under an existing WWE (or Mattel) contract. And Ahmed Johnson isn't gonna shift more units than a 1996 Undertaker, for example. They will still sign huge names who are a lock to sell figures. But for marginal guys, not worth it when they can just produce a new retro figure of Undertaker, Savage, HHH etc. Keep in mind, Jakks had very low production costs because they stuck all the heads on the same body, painted the front of it, and added a cookie tray.

I reuse to believe that Jakks can successfully sell a crapty figure of Johnny Rodz, while Mattel would be unable to sell a great figure of Ahmed Johnson.
Considering Jakks' recent Raven is the only thing from their horrible TNA offerings that sold well, I'd say he still have some kind of name value.
And that Elite Goldust was modern and it sucked compared to what we could have gotten in a classic Goldust.
