Ugh. I knew it was coming batman losing to good starters like that in March just sucks out loud. We haven't had a lot of pitching luck lately.

It sucks, like I cant even tell you anything positive about this. Two younger starters, 2nd TJ, I mean its just a terrible day for the Braves. On the other hand, the offense looks good. Young kids are signed and locked in, Heyward is healthy ( I am rooting for him to be the next Ken Griffey Jr) Teheran, Minor, Santana is still pretty good. Wood and maybe Floyd? Could be a lot worse. I hate Gattis as a full time catcher, but I signed Bossman Upton in my league so you and I will ride together with him I think the BRaves will be fine, but goddamn, today is tough

He had a showcase for a number of teams and, apparently, looks very unimpressive. Various scouts have said he's nothing more than a utility infielder that's probably not good enough to last at Short Stop. I'm cool with it. Sure got a lot of money though, I just think for all the uncertainty the Yankos have with the infield/future they'd take a shot. He signed for $8M total. Hardly the $20M it was rumored he was going to get and certainly nothing in comparison to his fellow Cuban defectors. I think NYY will fully address their infield next offseason. If Headley doesn't sign an extension, which looks like he won't, I fully expect the NYY to go hard after him (same thing with J.J. Hardy).

Unlike a lot of Braves fans I am not so crazy about Gattis full time either. If he can work on his defense and patience at the plate this year, then maybe I will be. he is a very likable guy and fun to watch so I am rooting for him. But risky as it is, it is still a better decision than giving Hoops McCann another big contract. Loved the guy, but that kind of money for a declining catcher in the NL would be a huge mistake. Really the big question is can Uggla and BJ Upton not be the two worst players in baseball this year? If they can both just be....average it would be a massive improvement.

I feel bad for the Braves but at least they were able to scoop up Santana, who should be a-ok in the National League. And I think BJ could improve from last season but Dan Uggla is pretty much a lost cause.

Welp, it's officially the MLB regular season right now. Hoping the Yanks can pull out a good year, it's gonna be tough in the best division in baseball.
