Where does everybody get this idea that Punk is jealous of Daniel Bryan? First of all, Bryan is one of his good friends in the industry who he's put over in promos before. Second of all, what in the hell does he have to be jealous about? Being WWE Champion for 5 minutes? Jobbing to Triple H and Orton every week on RAW? If anything, Bryan and Punk are in the exact same boat. I swear, some of you guys don't even bother to think when you post. Not sure if you were referring to my post but I'll explain. Can't recall the exact date but a few months ago there was an ending on RAW that featured Punk, Cena, and Bryan standing tall, can't remember if they cleaned house on The Shield or The Wyatts , but I vividly remember Punk's body language as the crowd was chanting "YES" to end the show, he appeared uninspired and uninterested and almost forcefully joined in the celebration. Now I might be reading too much into body language but based on Punk's ego and sense of entitlement, the possibility is not far fetched.

As someone that has had a job they are completely unhappy with and burned out on I would do the same thing if I had the financial security to do so.

No sense in him completely destroying his body for a company he is unhappy with. I wouldn't doubt if we never see Punk again in a wrestling capacity.

I'm mad at the people who are hating on the product because of him being gone. Punk may have been the savior of the WWE at one point back in 2011, but there are so many more reasons to watch now.

In a sense, yes. I just wish he would come out to the public and just give us an explanation from himself of what is going on, why he left, and if he will return. Thus resulting into less CM Punk threads and stupid "WE WANT PUNK!" chants. Don't get me wrong, I like him as a wrestler. What I don't like is the way he carries himself outside of the ring and how he has handled the situation. I don't completely know what is going on with this situation, so I don't want to say he is right or wrong about leaving or whatever he is doing.
So my answer: Mixed feelings.

Haven't posted in a long time but this Punk drama/work/funandgames thing right now seems very interesting. No, I am not mad at all at Punk because, and I don't know if you have talked about this video (or if it really is from 24th January), but Punk says at the end that taking a break is probably the best thing to do right now and earlier in the video he says that he thinks Dave coming back is a GOOD thing. So that's why I think it really isn't all that serious and that Punk really just decided to take a "sabbatical".

I think he'll be back for the occasional RVD/Jericho-type run. I feel like his ego would want a bigger match to go out on rather than a Royal Rumble where he stayed in for a long time but did nothing memorable. So it wouldn't surprise me to see him come back in a year or two for a little feud with whoever is hot at the time. Cena, Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Bryan, or whoever it may be.

As a fan, it really bums me out because I feel that Punk still had alot left to do in his career and it's a damn shame that he's only really been a top guy for 3 years...BARELY. I miss seeing him on a weekly basis. There is undoubtedly been an awkward void in the rostersince his departure. But looking at it in a humanistic perspective, thank god he left with his body in tact sooner that later when it would have been to late. His body was utterly falling apart and you could see that his movements were a lot slower and he was in alot of pain. I hope he does come back one day. Hopefully relatively soon because he's not getting any younger. And his style of wrestling would be suicidal to his body For someone who will be hitting 40 in a few years.

I'm moreso in disbelief that after the whole "I can't change the WWE sitting on my couch in Chicago" schtick he's sitting on his couch in Chicago because he couldn't change the WWE from the inside.

There hasn't really been a void because Punk was going through the motions for months anyway. In the last year, he had the Undertaker match and the Lesnar match, and then a bunch of unimportant, unmemorable stuff. He's been a top guy for five years, since he cashed in on Jeff Hardy. And he kind of did everything there is to do -- or at least everything that was within his capabilities... The last six months or so showed that there wasn't really any new ground that Punk was going to cover. It just wasn't worth sticking around getting even more banged up just to be "one of the guys facing The Shield this week on Smackdown" and stuff like that.

I feel like he had a lot more to do. And Yeah, in 2009 he established himself as a top hand in the comany but he wasn't considered one of THE top 2 or 3 guys. I feel like he didn't get that important recognition until 2011 with the Summer of Punk angle, which was his "austin 3:16" moment where he finally broke out. Give or take 3 years is how long he's been a true top guy in the company, Headlining multiple ppv's, holding the strap for over a year, being a top merchandise mover, etc. Yeah he's accomplished a lot in his rub, but in my eyes I feel he has a lot more to do.

What else could you see him doing? He'd never get the belt for a year again (I don't think anyone will do that this decade now), he could maybe win a Rumble... But even that, it feels over the last year like there are so many guys on the verge of breaking through that from 2015 onwards, there's always gonna be a Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins or Bray Wyatt or Daniel Bryan to win it instead. And I think Punk was always going to be hanging up his tights soon, that was why he was so dismayed with his WrestleMania spot last year and this year. Winning a Rumble and closing WrestleMania were really the only things left on his bucket list. Maybe he feels like going away for a couple of years could get him a spot where he comes back and does those things. Austin only ever really had three years as a top guy too... 1998-2002, with a year out in the middle for the broken neck.

Well not a whole lot of things to do, but with this whole great crop of up and coming talent he could have certainly help polish them and put on tremendous feuds with that next generation. He could have certainly legitimize those guys.
I could watch Punk vs Cena for days as well. A Punk vs Cena match to close Mania would be awesome to see. I still think Punk and Bryan can do new things together as well. There's not a lot of top guys in the company right now to help establish that next gen. Hell I dont even think Orton is on that level. Punk was one of the only few. But yeah there's no sense in sticking around for his body to pay the price.

Punk will be back. I'm sure he will get bored and be back sometime this year and be a bigger star then he ever was.
