I enjoyed it as well. Because of his passing, I think we are forgetting a lot of the bad things Warrior has done. From holding Vince up for money, no showing scheduled shows and even his anti homophobic rants or his attack of ebay sellers for selling Warrior merchandise on ebay......Warrior wasnt an angel. Its an extremely sad story and he will definitely be missed. But this DVD exposed a lot of the crimes Warrior put WWE through. WWE is no angel either. They have made mistakes and have disrespected people. But I think a lot of this dvd was very honest. Hogan, Slaughter and Heenan just told the world how they felt about Warrior. Warrior was fairly reckless in the ring. With all that said, he is also a legend in pro wrestling. In his documentary that aired tonight, they made mention of how his popularity was rivaling Hogans and that is why they went ahead and put the belt on him. I believe this to be 100% true. I grew up watching this era and can remember how much I loved Warrior. Hogan was my guy in WWF, but Warrior kept growing on me more and more and more. And it was cuz he looked like a super hero. To a kid, his nonsensical promos meant nothing. What I saw was this larger than life hero snarling, growling and being tough and saying he was gonna kick some butt. He deserves to be honored for his accomplisments and remembered for his contributions. But we shouldnt just forget his shortcomings either. I thought the "holding up" thing was squashed by the leaked letters earlier this year? His attack of ebay sellers? I don't recall that...only the ones that are selling counterfeit merchandise. How is that a bad thing? Sounds like you really did enjoy and buy in to the Self Destruction dvd. lol I also remember the Ebay stuff. People selling custom figures, I even think someone who was trying to resell one of the 1 of 15 figures they got from him. He contacted Ebay and had them taken down.

I've only seen it once but I can't remember it being as bad as everyone made out. They do attempt to destroy him towards the middle and end but there are some positive things mentioned too... I think? Haha I may need to re-watch this one!
I'm glad that peace was made though in the end.
RIP Warrior.

I finally busted out the Ultimate Collection DVD, that I bought a while ago but hadn't got around to watching yet, and me and my brother have been watching it over the past week and I have to say that actually watching the DVD, you realize that Warrior was NOT a bad wrestler at all. The guy was extremely athletic in his actions, he just simply didn't have a wide moveset. I could again see what enamored me so much when I was young, the guy had movie star looks, a captivating persona, awesome ring attire and ing kicked ass. I think he would have been more than capable of pulling off a lot more moves but chose not to because it didn't fit his character. Whatever he was like backstage, in the ring he put on some of the most memorable performances of all time. He was essentially a better Hogan than Hogan ever was.

Didn't they plan on making one for Bret Hart as well? Or was that just a bs rumor?

It's funny how everyone agrees "the self destruction..." Was a bury job hack piece but some people (mostly non warrior fans) use exaggerations from the dvd as a source as if it is a credible reference.

Look, none of us worked for WWF when these things between Vince and Warrior we're going down so our opinion really means nothing. If Vince said he was hard to deal with then I assume he was hard to deal with. If Bobby Heenan said he sucked in the ring then I assume he sucked in the ring. If they really wanted to bury him then the extras would have been his crap matches instead of his best ones. I don't think any part of the documentary buried him as a person other then mentioning some of his weird antics, promos and business decisions. Again, it was probably more truthful than most of the other documentaries they have ever produced. Let's be honest, the Warrior was a weird guy. He changed his damn name to Warrior for Christ's sake. I don't see how they could not bring that up in the documentary and talk about it being weird. His promos for also very strange and out there. I don't know how they could talk in his documentary about his promos not being strange.
Lastly, that DVD came out like 10 years ago and I don't remember anybody protesting out in front of Titan Towers back then. Now that he's dead, people seem to care about a DVD they made 10 years ago that may not have covered up all of Warriors faults.
Anyway, they are more than making up for any faults they may have made in that DVD now. I think Warrior has gotten more memorial time than any wrestler I can remember. Hell, they are devoting an entire week to him on the WWE network.

I think the reason he has gotten such a big tribute on the Network is because of the way his last 3 days went with WWE. Meeting with HHH and making up with Vince and even saying his peace with Hogan. I think both sides deserve credit for putting their guns down and the way they handled the entire situation. I'd disagree though about people complaining about that DVD 9 years ago though. I seem to remember plenty of people thinking it was sh*t. There were only 5 matches on there. 4 of them were arguably the biggest moments of his career and they were all talked about during the documentary. It would have been criminal not to include them. They had to market the disc somehow and people probably would have passed on the purchase if they weren't getting any of his high profile matches. They could have put the Halloween Havoc match on there as a shot at him but Hogan took credit for it sucking anyway.

Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 6 and Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage at Wrestlemania 7 are both GREAT matches. I don't care how much rehearsal time went into them as that doesn't matter to me at all. As you stated, if they totally wanted to sh*t on him they would've added that garbage Halloween Havoc match. They included his best matches because he did have good ones and they didn't just say "fu*k him" during the entire documentary. I remember them saying good (and bad) things which was probably all pretty honest.

This isn't because he passed - Steve Williams legally changed his name to Steve Austin. He must be pretty crazy too. Do you understand how trademarks work and how popular wrestlers want to use there character as a cash cow even if they aren't wwe employees? No one is buying Jim hellwig merch, but warrior merch will sell without wwe permission. Wwe only owns ultimate warrior properties. - believing whatever wwe employees tell you makes me believe you may be a naive fan. How many participants from dvd were not employed by wwe at the time? -they included 2 great matches......they still were trying to sell and make money off the dvd. They wouldn't put unknown matches on there.

They got over it. Steve Austin is a common everyday name. Warrior isn't. It's weird to change your name to Warrior. That's all. It's his choice. I don't care what his name is. I'm just telling you that changing your name to Warrior is weird which is why it was addressed. I never said I believe everything WWE employees say as fact. The point I'm trying to make is NONE of us were there at the time so whatever they say is from their point of view and we can't really argue it either way.

The Self Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior DVD was a pathetic attempt to brainwash the minds of the young fans who had never heard the TRUE story of the Ultimate Warrior. You can't rewrite history. It just doesn't work like that.
I've never seen the documentary, and I'll never watch it because it's a total waste of money and time.
I'm glad Vince and Warrior made amends before he died because the whole thing was very stupid and childish on Vince's behalf.

I'm just saying that you can make anyone seem like an bunghole if you only concentrate on the negative, or in the case of the DVD, try and rewrite history. Several of the "facts" presented in the DVD are completely false. I haven't seen the DVD in a long time but the most obvious one that I still remember is when they were going on about how people turned off when he debuted in WCW, when in fact the ratings for that segment were really high.

I'm just glad Bret Hart made peace with WWE before they could do similar treatment to him.

I haven't watched this thing since it came out. I just always assumed that the truth is somewhere in between what Vince and Warrior claim. Fact that Warrior was tough to deal with when it came to business. He wanted what he felt was his and he and Vince clashed over it.
Warrior definitely had his faults (no shows) but Vince of course did too. I have always enjoyed Warrior as an entertainer. He was right there with Hogan. There was nothing bigger to me than Hogan/Warrior to me as an 8yr old kid. I have watched that match more than any other wrestling match ever.
Great childhood memories. I wish that Warrior would have had a longer run at the top and didn't leave (fired) in 91 and again in 92.
