Im not a TMNT fan at all, so I have less knowledge about them then most people here. I went on Monday to see it with my friends and it was an ok movie at best. I dont really know about their origins and all that, so I dont have anything to compare it to. If I were to rank the movies I have seen during the summer, it would be 3rd to last on the list.
Planet of the Apes 22 Jump Street X Men Godzilla Neighbors TMNT The Purge 2 Edge of Tomorrow

Something just really struck me.. And started to bug me.
The Foot Klan having automatic weapons.. I understand in a sense of trying to make it more grounded in reality, any organization trying to take over anything is going to have guns and ammo. But they didn't do much other than shoot their guns.. Not alot of hand to hand combat between Foot soldiers and the Turtles..
Plus they looked terrible.. Out of everything in the movie, the Foot Klan was probably one of my main issues.

Out of everything in the movie, the Foot Klan was probably one of my main issues. Agreed. I was just thinking about this myself. I watched the first live action Turtles over the weekend, and that "Enter the Shredder" scene is one of my favorite villain intros in any movie -- ever. But for it being a villainous scene, it has so much depth, and history, with him bestowing the mask on someone. Now they're just sort of -- there. I mean, it's something they could fix/go in more depth on later on in the series, but -- yeah. I agree. The Foot are usually just kind of throw away, like the Putty in Power Rangers, but -- they still have history that I think could have been nodded at a bit more, and keeping the guns would have been fine, then.

And if I'm updating Blockbuster season list...
ASM2 Cap 2: TWS X-Men: DoFP 22 Jump Street TMNT The Purge: Anarchy The Raid 2 Guardians of the Galaxy Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Godzilla Transformer: AoE Neighbors
Got Let's Be Cops, Expendables 3, and MAYBE Sin City 2/Hercules to see in theaters still. Overall, my Summer's done. Will catch Maleficent, Lucy, Fluffy Movie, Edge of Tomorrow, Jersey Boys on DVD.

I'm still bummed that the Turtles were supporting characters in their own movie. I really want to know who thought that was a good idea.

I'm an old school TMNT fan so I went into the theater expecting to leave disappointed. Honestly, I thought it was a good movie. As an adult viewer, probably my favorite. My only complaint was how nerdy they made Donnatello. The story switch didn't bother me either. I actually thought it made more sense than the original. I'll definitely buy it when it comes out on bluray.

I rarely completely hate a movie and tried to go in with an open mind, just try to have fun, but this was absolutely awful.
The story, character development, acting, all abysmal. Minus Will Arnett who gave the few lol moments (well, ones that were supposed to be. I was literally laughing at several spots that weren't supposed to be funny, they were just so bad that they ended up being funny). Like Raph standing up to the bullet fire.
Can Megan Fox ever not have have a dumb expression of cluelessness on her face?

I didn't even think Arnett was funny and I think that perfectly sums up how much I didn't like the movie. also, a lot of that with Fox is because of the plastic surgery she has had. Which may be the dumbest thing she ever did. And that's saying something.

My rankings for the Summer...although after the 2nd viewing, I'd jump Guardians to 3rd, and push all the others down one... I stand by Spidey 2, and I hope with viewings now that it's coming on BD/DVD, people will lighten up on it a bit more. It was a Spidey comic come to life, and the Spider-Man I've waited 26 years for, as a life long fan. I adored so much about it. Hell, I dropped the 12 bucks on the Soundtrack. It's been YEARS since I bought a movie soundtrack...it's no Queen of the Damned soundtrack, but it's still good pre-workout music.

The Raid 2 was the most fun I've had this year, i'm biased as i love action films, especially ones that go extreme or have great fight scenes which this had. i still need to see GOTG and Spiderman 2 though i enjoyed Captain America.

Raid 2 was down there with Godzilla for me after my first viewing. It jumped a few spots itself after watching it again on BD. It's beautifully shot, the fight choreography is unparalleled these days, and I just love these damn movies -- HOWEVER -- I think it could have been almost 40 minutes shorter, and been an even better paced/structured movie. That, and Prakoso needs his own movie. Damn good film, though. I just don't think it needs to be as long as it is.

Just loved the action, that is what r rated action films should be, brutal..

I hated that Shredder really had no story nor any connection with the turtles and splinter really. This was more of the April O'neil story.

Her lips look horrendous too. You know how I know you're gay? Hahaha fair enough. I just couldn't get over how terrible her plastic surgery looked. I thought she was smoking in Transformers but she ruined her perfectly good face imo.
