Sox rotation is better but still average. Masterson could be a nice addition. Miley is a decent mid-rotation guy, Porcello will be good. Still, that Lester trade might go down as one of the worst ever. Not really, worst ever? Dude wasnt resigning here. They got Cespedes and a pick, flipped Cespedes for a 26 year old pitcher AND he is eligible for comp, something Cespedes is not. Obviously I wish the Sox just signed Lester last spring but obviously he was pissed at the starting offer and never wanted to talk again. Cespedes kinda sucks tho and people are gonna see that when he hits 30 HRs but has an OBP of .280.

They made a ridiculous low ball offer to their homegrown ace, traded him for an outfielder with declining skills and surrendered that comp pick they would've gotten had they didn't trade him, attempted to re-sign scorned home grown ace for more money, lost him to a team that hasn't won a World Series in over a century (when he won 3 with homegrown team), and now have traded declining outfielder for a decent starting pitcher who's set to hit free agency after this season. Maybe not the worst trade ever but the overall return for Jon Lester, 3-time W.S. Champion and one of the top pitchers in all of baseball is extremely underwhelming.

Like I said, I understand starting low on Lester. He was not good in 2012 and part of 2013. I dont agree with the original offer but I understand starting low. Lesters camp just shut off talks, which the Sox didnt expect. They tried to reopen talks a few times and the Levinsons said no. It needs to go both ways. They got a comp pick in the Cespedes trade with him, so they get that pick they lost for Lester. And they get one if Porcello leaves, the Tigers dont. I wish Lester was here, but Porcello is 26 and potentially breaking out. Cespedes sucks but he'll be good in that line up, well, for 30 HR's and nothing else

I just really dislike that trade for Boston. Gonna be interesting to see how everything shakes out in a few seasons.

Pirates pick up Bastardo. Considering we lost Wilson to the Yankees, nice replacement.

I'm happy with the return on the Rollins trade. Atleast Ruin Tomorrow Sooner didn't trade him for a bag of used balls. It's a step in the right direction, even if it's three years late.
Now, time to move Hamels.

I like Porcello more than Cespedes and I like Mookie Betts more than Cespedes.
Win win

Nats traded Ross Detwiler. I doubt many people care but I loved Ross.

I say we trade Gio for a good second/third baseman, keep Zim at first base, and pick up a veteran starting pitcher like James Shields for a couple of years. Or maybe I'm just crazy from the nonexistent offense in the postseason.

The White Sox. Wow. Now they get Melky Cabrera? What an offseason for them. I already thought before the moves they could be competitive next year, now I think they are a potential wild card team.
Yankees, step up and sign Max Scherzer already. Get it done and over with. Thanks, Cashman.

another reward for PEDs.....and they wonder why these guys won't stop doing it. personally i dont give a what athletes do. they get paid way more money than they should to "entertain" us (the fans) but baseball especially is soooo ing hypocritical. for the last decade they've done nothing but condemn the idea of "cheating". it's been put out by their PR departments that PEDs are evil, heinous, the worst thing a human being can do and should be met with the harshest punishments allowed. they say "oh we don't want kids to grow up thinking its ok to cheat", they won't elect Barry Bonds into the Hall of Fame because he allegedly cheated for his stats. A-Rod gets suspended for a full year on a first offense as some kind of scapegoat to flex their crapty weak muscles like they aren't gonna stand for this anymore and Melky Cabrera who TESTED POSITIVE FOR PEDS a couple years ago just got 45 MILLION DOLLARS This was of course AFTER he got...what was that contract with the Jays? 16 million? Nelson Cruz....almost the same thing. And a bunch of other guys whom I can't even think of right now....getting multi-million dollar contracts even though they were "caught" doing this thing that MLB has deemed pure evil incarnate Now let me be clear, personally I don't give a crap. If I could take some crap to make me a decent baseball player and make $40 million I absolutely would. But the principle and the HYPOCRISY of Major League Baseball and their "policy" on this whole PED thing drives me ing insane. First offense? 80 game suspension -> $45 million dollars lmao

I still could see Boston signing Scherzer, I wouldnt bet on it but I could see the Sox just get him out of nowhere in January. It'd only be a 3rd rounder and if the camels price is too high, it, why not. Yankees, Dodgers, Tigers are still my 3 picks....mayyyyybe the Cards

1) Brett Gardner - LF 2) Jacoby Ellsbury - CF 3) Carlos Beltran - RF 4) Mark Teixeira - 1B 5) Brian McCann - C 6) Martin Prado - 2B 7) Alex Rodriguez - DH 8) Chase Headley - 3B 9) Didi Gregorius - SS
I'd take that line up, albeit I hate Rodriguez. If we can find a way to go and get Scherzer, I'd feel very confident in our entire team.

Yankees sign Capuano for a year. Nice....he's no ace but he's the perfect insurance guy. Can be a long man or 5th starter, he seemed to pitch well enough last year.
Still need a new "ace" for next year because Tanaka is going to get hurt, Nova isn't an ace anyway, CC is a 4th starter at BEST now. They really don't have a sure ace besides Tanaka and his elbow is one bad movement away from exploding at any time
