It's horrifying to me that Cruz has enough supporters to make him consider a Presidential campaign. Really, really horrifying.

It doesn't matter who runs, they're all worthless lying scumbags. Every once in a while we get a good one. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Barney Frank come to mind, even though Frank is now retired. What the average voter didn't seem to understand that it is our responsibility as voters to get the bad politicians out of office. Yes a lot are going to get through because the job attracts scumbags, but we have to diligent and aware of what's going on in our country so we can vote responsibly. Unfortunately that had become very difficult in this day and age. Our media has purchased by the ultra rich and had become a product. The news is no longer about news, it's about ratings and revenue. Lies and here say are given as much time as credibility as the truth. Which is why it's more interact than ever that we have invented and engaged citizens who vote at every election.

I hate when people say that they don't vote because all politicians are terrible. That's a massive fallacy. The problem is that people refuse to go out and vote into office the politicians who will actually do things. I've clearly shown my cards as a Democrat, borderline Socialist in my ideology but a Centrist in my voting. A spade is a spade. If there is a garbage Democrat in office and a Republican running against them who is actually putting forward ideas that could work? I'll vote for them. If you hate "politics as usual" then find a politician and stick by them. Don't just not vote just because.

Other than this guy, who are the front runners for president in 2016. I haven't really heard anything yet until now. Scott Walker (Gov. Wisconsin)

Only reason I said no to Santorum is because I actually get to hear a little bit from him now and then living in the home state. Unlike other candidates who have said no and aren't believable, Santorum's got a lot on his shoulders. He's a radical who would have to appear to be less radical than Cruz and put up one of the great political fights against the juggernaut that is Jeb Bush, and the cult of personality figure in Christie. I can't see Santorum slaying those three beasts. And I think he knows it. And Paul is gonna run? I quit this country. I figured Santorum would think that he came close last time and Romney isn't in his way this time so he has a chance. I'll be happy if he doesn't run. I don't think Paul has a chance.I disagree. He polls very strongly with independents and in the end, that's what matters in a general election.

I still think he has a better chance than you're giving credit for. I don't see any of the others as the guy. He is probably the only guy I would vote republican for. Until the democrats change their stances on taxes, gun rights, and entitlements, I will probably vote third party or republican (given that the republican candidate is one I approve of).

I think this will be a repeat of 2012. Romney was the front runner but people kept looking at other candidates; Santorum, Cain, Perry, etc, but Romney eventually won the nomination. I think Jeb will be in Romney's place this time. He's the front runner but people will look at the other candidates but he'll win in the end.

If that's the case, then Republicans get what they deserve when they lose. The party keeps making the same mistakes with these "centrist" candidates with tons of political baggage and unanswered questions about their credibility. But I still think Rand has a great shot. He's more visible than his father was and has made countless overtures to demographics that usually vote democratic.

With the political climate the eat it is, with the politicians we have and the ideas that are currently being presented, those three are the best shot we have at a good economy. The Republicans have been attempting trickle down economics for the better of 30 years, when is it supposed to start working? This'll be my first ever election...weird. Sadly I don't have The Colbert Report or the Daily Show anymore :/ The Daily Show will still exist. I'm holding off judgement until they announce who they get to replace John Stewart.

I highly doubt he has a real chance of becoming President. And we all should be thankful for that. Pretty much this so I really hope he pulls off a shocker and wins the Republican nomination. That just means another 4 (or 8) years of no Republican President.

Until the democrats change their stances on taxes, gun rights, and entitlements I will probably vote third party or republican (given that the republican candidate is one I approve of). I wish I had noticed this before I responded to this post the first things. There's A LOT of misinformation in this one sentence. 1. There have been studies on the ways Republicans want to tax Americans. It doesn't work. There has never been a country that has tried it successfully. Why? Because it doesn't work. The Republicans tried it in the 80's and it failed. They might have tried it during Sr. Bush's one term, I honestly can't remember. And they tried it again during the eight years of failure that was the George W. Bush administration and it failed. Must recently Kansas state tried it and it failed. Why? Because it doesn't work. Meanwhile, higher taxation on the rich had been proven to work. During the most prosperous times in American history, the ultra rich were taxed at 90%. And it worked. Do you know what happens to the richest people in America even they pay higher taxes? They're still the richest people in America. Oh yeah, and everyone else in the country has better lives. 2. NO. ONE. IS. COMING. TO. TAKE. YOUR. GUNS. AWAY. 3. The average American household pays an average of $22 annually for so-called entitlements. That Dave average American family pays almost $10,000 annually for corporate welfare.* I'll never understand why so many people think it's evil to take support away from the period who need it the most -- the working poor who have been demonized for just trying to feed their families -- but they have no problem giving money had over fist to those who don't need it. It makes no sense. It's as if every conservative (or conservative-leaning independent, which I think is the case here) has just decided to disregard the very basics of economics. *I got that figure from Pete Dominick, the host of SiriusXM's StandUP with Pete Dominick. I'll try to dig up a more verifiable source later.
