People saying Valentine hasn't done anything memorable or noteworthy have no clue. His dog collar match with Piper at Starcade 83 was an instant classic. He also had great feuds with Wahoo McDaniel and Bob Backlund. Do some research- there was good wrestling outside of the WWE. And up until a month ago women's wrestling was a joke. They were 3 minute matches that gave you a safe time to go use the restroom without missing anything. Sure this whole divas revolution is hopefully start of something more respected, but even Trish Stratus and the Bellas started out as nothing more than eye candy. Greg Valentine's comments are old fashioned and misogynistic but he's partly right. Women will not draw the way men do. Do they have a place? Yes. At one point, Glorious Ladies of wrestling had its own show. But they won't headline the way the guys do. Just a month ago? You know women's wrestling goes beyond wwe? There are plenty of Indy women's wrestling shows that draw huge crowds... Nxt has been great for a year now and Nikki and Paige have been putting on great matches together for months now.. He's not right, like at all lol I should've said WWE women's wrestling. Sure there's indy stuff that draws. But it's not going to draw or get over the way male wrestling does. And give VKM a solid 3 more months and you'll see Nikki vs. Charlotte in a bra and panties match or Paine vs Becky Lynch in the mud.

You know, the sport that has a woman as one of its top 5 draws...

Wow, how misogynistic of him. I'd like to see him in a UFC ring with Ronda Rousey and see what his comments are then. It's people like him who make this world crap.

Put him face-to-face with Ronda and let's see where his place is after she's finished with him.
I'd agree this is worse than Hogan in the sense that these are public statements that he's evidently proud of. Interested to see if WWE acts.

But there's always people that don't think she's a draw for some inexplicable reason so I went safe and said top 5 because that's indisputable. Haha.

I'm willing to bet Becky and Sasha alone have sold more of their T-Shirts since their rise to the main roster than anything ever produced in Greg Valentines name. What a sexist jerk.

I absolutely agree and would say that she's getting up there as one of the biggest that the UFC has ever seen. I feel that it has to say something that she is a total household name whether you watch MMA or not. It's about the fighters that can transcend into pop culture, and she's done that. Not Brock or GSP level yet, but working her way up past some other big names on the "top draws" list.

1. People probably know more Women that worked for the company than him
2. Someone show me a match he participated in that was classed as good or legendary... Oh wait.
3. Yeah cause A.J Lee, Alicia Fox, Alundra Blayze, Ariel, Beth Phoenix, Becky Lynch, Brie Bella, Bull Nakano, Charlotte Flair, Chyna, Emma, Eve Torres, Gail Kim, Ivory, Jacqueline, Jazz, Jillian Hall, Kharma, Layla, Lita, Luna Vachon, Maxine, Melina, Michelle McCool, Mickie James, Molly Holly, Naomi, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Paige, Sherri Martel, Serena, Trish Stratus, Victoria & Wendi Richter had ZERO wrestling skills in any company they have ever been involved in or had NO talent what so ever....
4. He just mad because the strippers run away in fear when they see him Valentine's series of matches with Backlund in 79 & 80 drew huge houses to the Garden. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I'm pretty sure they were sellouts at a time when Backlund wasn't selling out with many people. Valentine's run with Tito Santana also drew pretty big money and was a headline B house show act for months. To discredit Valentine as no good or legendary matches also dismisses the Starrcade match with Roddy Piper, probably the best chain/strap/rope match that there'll ever be. Alica Fox is one of the worst wrestlers ever and would probably be the worst on the current roster if Cameron wasn't still employed. Chyna's matches were THE DRIZZLING S***S. an 8 look, a 1 on the stick, a 0 in ring. Maxine did absolutely nothing of note He said something dumb. Doesn't mean he never did anything of value. And it certainly doesn't mean modern girls who CAN'T work now somehow surpass him.

Those of you who are talking about the Hammer and barely know anything about his are career looking ridiculous.
He never drew lol? The Piper feud in Mid Atlantic was huge and people were turned away from arenas.
His Feud with Tito Santana in 1984 that lasted well into 1985 drew a ton of money and once again, people got turned away. That happened in that era, I know some of have never seen a real boom period.
Valentine also sold out with Hulk Hogan in places like the Spectrum. Him and Wahoo was a hot angle going back to Mid Atlantic.
My point is, you sound silly saying he never drew money. He was actually in some of the hottest feuds in wrestling in the 1980s.
Ignorance is one thing , saying he couldn't wrestle is just stupidity. The guy was incredible, beautiful execution, great storytelling, physicality was believable. He was special in his prime.
The irony is, none of these Divas most of y'all are sticking up for will experience 1/4 of the success that the Hammer did from the late 70s through mid 80s.

In his day Heels weren't supposed to sell merchandise, so what is your point? A real heel doesn't want you wearing his likeness, at least when Kayfabe was alive.

Can someone show me a Match from Greg Valetine that is better than the "horrible Matches" of the "terrible" Women's Wrestlers like Natalya, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Emma, Paige & AJ Lee and beside that can someone show me a Show he Main Evented that drew more Money than any of Ronda Rousey's Fights or the NXT House Shows that got Main Evented by NXT Divas? His dog collar match with piper is a timeless classic. That being said. He made a stupid comment So Greg Valentine needed a Dog Collar to perform timeless classic that is supposed to be way better than all these "horrible Matches" of the "terrible" Women's Wrestlers?

I don't care how big of a draw you were in the 80's, to say women don't have a place in a mans world outside of the kitchen is just... I can't even put it into words.

These are the meatheads that make wrestlers look like idiots. Luckily the modern day WWE employee seems largely in touch with morality in the human race.

All I came in here to do was touch on how factually incorrect a lot of people are about Valentine. I'll leave alone what he said. I will say though, his thoughts are probably close to what mass America thinks about women in wrestling. It really always has been considered a piss break, not that I agree. I like everybody from Richter to Trish, I'm aware that it's considered a novelty though.
