Well typical stuff here - Vince usually gets crazy around NFL season and tries to switch it up.
What can WWE do? Without real competition, WWE has been complacent for almost 15 years. The shows are unbearably bad - and the exciting up and coming talent they do have typically get misused, under utilized or stop and start pushed.
My question is what could get people interested in the product again? From a storyline perspective, what can Vince do to get people talking again?
We all would like to see a Cena heel turn but that will never happen. So what else could there be?
I know the invasion type stuff has been done to death -so having an NXT style invasion may not be exactly the best way out... but I was thinking about something like a shoot/work angle with some of the lower-mid card guys and getting them an opportunity to work with the main event talent.
Crazy I know. Anyway, I was envisioning a scenario where a Heath Slater is out there to do a job and grabs a mic and just shoots on Vince and the company. Quits and walks out. Then you have other guys following suit etc. Ultimately leading to these guys coming back and repackaged attacking some of the top guys - and getting a shot at them etc.
I dont know that that is super creative or something that would work - but it would be different. What kinds of things can WWE do to save itself?

"If you don't like it, STOP WATCHING!" Good one internet...
Vince doesn't have a solution because he's the problem. I'm sure he could always put the title on Sheamus. I bet that will really put asses in seats.

Well Vince, maybe if you didn't put Kane of all people in your ing main event, and made a product worth watching, your viewership would improve.

I bet that will really put asses in seats. As much as I hate to admit it, its the truth. But at the same time, the old Vince was always willing to take risks and do whatever it takes to keep his audience. What gives? How can this period of stagnancy be completely overlooked? I know they are doing a lot right with NXT - but even still, these guys come to the main roster and most of them will falter in the midcard. To me, we need a really good and fresh storyline that utilizes more than just Cena, Brock and the Authority to the most of their potential.

Vince has to take a look at the mirror and realize putting the same exact show on for 2 years isnt making people want to watch it.
There are so many things wrong with the WWE right now....I can't even begin. One thing is absolutely certain, Seth Rollins is NOT one of those things.

NFL will always steal ratings. The new fantasy league cash winnings gimmick has made NfL's following even bigger. Another thing, is Football creates a party/get-together, where wrestling is orobabky 1 out of every 1000 fans that generates a party night, and thats mostly PPV's.
What could WWE fo to spice things up? Well, he's currentky NXT World Champion. But, I feel Finn Balor is nothing but raw ratings. His entrance alone is a spectacle. Bringing him up to have a NXT title match on Raw, would not only create ratings, but it would also sell Network Subscriptions. I feel we have re entered a time where people want to see characters. Not over the top Matadores gimmicks, but The Demon fits the bill perfectly.
So, let's announce a NXT World Title match for Raw 2 weeks from now, with Balor vs Kevin Owens. ( Although I'd rather see it be a returning Zayne, so we get a run in beatdown by Kevin Owens. This would sell subscriptions for their big match in NXT).
We also need a change up in cards. Lets face it, Raw has seemed to be the same show for the last 2 years. I eant my 2 hour show back, but USA loves those 3 hour shows. Lets see gimmick matches intergraded on Raw. Bring back Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal. Give us a Tornado Tag Table match between Dudleys and New Day. Lets see a submission match eith Charlotte and Brie.
Then, we have Seth Rollins. Is he a weak champion? Sure. Thats his shtick. But, lets get him involved in a Bullrioe match. No escape! Cage matches are over done in WWE, to a point where there are no spotsleft to oooo and aahgh the audience.
The main point here, is Raw was once a don't miss show. We have DVR's and Social Media where if you missed it, you are still updated to the second things happen. WWE needs to make the product shift directions back to Don't Miss. Remember the Pipe Bomb? Punks promo's leading to Taker at Mania? Brock ending the streak? Thise classify as Don't Miss. I don't need every show to be a diamond. I hust want every show to be different.

Good! Now's the time to get your s*** together and write us a more compelling show. If I had to make changes...
The in ring action is perfect. But we need more variety in the match ups. Watching the same guys win the same matches each week over the same opponents gets old fast.
I think WWE could benefit from a GM to counteract Triple H/Stephanie. I would love to see the Board of Directors appoint someone like Sting, Foley, Flair, or Bryan. Someone to make face decisions in spite of the evil Authority. That way the Authority can be clear cut heels and we would have someone to even the playing field.
I'd rebuild the Authority as well. They need a few new henchmen. Maybe someone like Barrett, Dallas, or Swagger. Solid talents that need some direction.
Call up Enzo & Cass. They are ready for prime time. Give them the time and they will be the hottest face team in years.
Owens as IC champion is a step in the right direction. No offense to Ryback, but Owens can have constant great matches each week against a slew of mid-card faces.
Have Zayn come to the main roster when he is healthy. If they can make the fans in WWE love him as much as the NXT fans do, the WWE will have their new Daniel Bryan. And a feud with Owens over the IC title will rebuild the title faster than anything else you can do.
Another thing I think they should do is a good "Who dun it?" If there is a major injury keeping someone off TV for close to a year make it into a story line. Sorta like the who ran down Austin thing from many years back. Have them laid out in the back and nobody saw what happened. That way you can keep the injured talent in the spotlight while giving us a great mystery with a twist ending. Just don't make it an Uso.

Vince will never compete with the NFL. It's just the truth. I watch wrestling over the NFL every week but the Sunday night/Monday nights when the Steelers play? Steelers first WWE second.
He could come up with the most clever storyline in history, one of his massive summer stories and that's still not going to steal away many if any viewers.

Vince not understanding the best way to pop rating is by having his MILF daughter come out every week in minimal clothing.

If Vince is so worried about the NFL stealing ratings, maybe he should think about diving into that market. He's got the funds. And a McMahon owned football league sounds awesome! Doesn't it?

"Ratings are low? Put the title on Cena dammit! I know that the people want to see Cena vs. Orton or Cena vs. Big Show again!" - Vince McMahon, 2015.

Unfortunately, I can see the blame getting placed on Seth, similar to how Daniel Bryan was reportedly blamed for SummerSlam 2013's buyrate and how Miz was blamed for Survivor Series 2011's buyrate.

He's shooting himself in the foot...They have one of the most talented rosters that they have ever had and nobody cares about them because they are all booked terribly. It's WCW all over again. Look how great Jericho, Austin, Guerrero etc. became once they left WCW and joined the WWF. WWE is making the same mistakes that they constantly criticize WCW for making and that is putting all of your focus on the older guys and not properly using the younger guys. People want to tune in to see something new. Not to see Kane in the main event, or John Cena winning a big match AGAIN. Fans have been vocally booing John cena for a decade now and yet he still squashes every up and coming talent that the company has. And then he wonders why his rating are low? hmmmmmmmmm........maybe because you never give the fans what they want to see!!!!....I want to say that once Cena retires this company will be better off but I have this horrible feeling that they are going to put Reigns right in that spot and screw over the fans for another decade. There have been generations and generations of lost opportunities because of their obsession with Cena. Rollins jobs to him, Cesaro Jobs to him, Owens jobs to him, Wyatt jobs to him, Rusev jobs to him....and they wonder why none of these guys can grab the brass ring. This is why NXT is as popular as it is. Talented wrestlers are given the opportunity to perform, and if the crowd cheers them, they get rewarded. If the crowd voices their disapproval, they get repackaged. Simple concept. Yet on the main roster when the fans clearly tell the company that they are sick of Cena and they don't like Reigns yet, we clearly are being ignored. This is the era where the company pretends to love the WWE universe the most and ironically this is the era where the WWE treats their fanbase the worst. If we cheer someone, give them a push. If we boo them, then repackage them into something we like. How hard is that?

The problem is, they can't blame the NFL this time.
My percentages may be off (it's been about a week since I read/listened to the numbers), but as a general rule of thumb, WWE has seen a 3-5% decrease in ratings when football comes into play over the last several years. It's a hit, but it's not really that big of a deal.
This year, they're down over 10%, and there's absolutely no indication that things couldn't get even worse. We're at 18 year lows for Raw, and all time lows for Smackdown. This isn't the usual fall ratings doldrums, this is a serious problem that can't be fixed overnight and requires legitimate, wholesale changes.
Unfortunately, those changes begin with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, and both are ridiculously stubborn and incapable of even considering that they are part of the problem.
There are so, so many micro changes they could make on a weekly basis that would impact the macro in the long term, but they refuse to do it.
Their answer, thus far, has been to make Kane and the Big Show two of the focal points of Raw. That's their idea of a solution.

What kinds of things can WWE do to save itself? There is only one way to run an Invasion angle right now in the WWE that could push the ratings up as far as it could possibly go in 2015. I would like to see The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Michael Bennett) and Jay Lethal come in and just disrupt Raw and Smackdown. They should call out the New Day and Seth Rollins and anyone else who wants to be a “Pro Wrestler” to join them. There are quite a few big names that could, like CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins!! A few weeks later, I’d like to see Gail Kim, Tigre Uno, The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards), Robert Roode, and Ethan Carter III come in and attack, not only the WWE roster, but the ROH roster as well. I’d even have Gail Kim mentioning something along the lines of, “Divas Revolution?? What an oxymoron!!” Now you have a 3 sided war, the way the Invasion should have been in 2001. TNA’s and ROH’s top names and TNA’s and ROH’s Champions will make this Invasion better than just WCW’s Champions and ECW top names.
