I have before but I got over it now I simply don't give a Same. I got rid of all my old stuff in high school, mostly bca figures at that point, maybe a few ttl and such. I just thought i was too old. Well around 22 i bought a michael jordan figure and a reggie bush figure. That turned into a couole transformers, then a couple tmnt and eventually wwe figures. I dont care what anyone thinks. Im sure they all have things i wouldnt like. I know grown men that garden. I would never. We cant all like the same stuff

When I was in high school I stopped all together. It definitely was embarrassing. Being a fan alone was embarrassing, so add on the fact that I still buy, and play with, the toys? That was a huge secret of mine up until recently. Hell a lot of people still don't know about my huge collection. And that's fine with me. The judgements are too unfair and harsh to not keep it quiet. Actually Recently , maybe a year and a half ago, I had some one I really like come over my house after she was being being really really flirtatious in texts. Well I left her in my room for a few minutes alone, (had my collection covered by sheets on my floor, pretty obvious that she went and looked under to see wtf was there) and then when I got back she was weird as and pretty much asked to go home after awkward silence. It sucked. And I can't help but think her seeing all my toys turned her off and made her leave. That's why I'm happy we have this place and I've met quite a few friends through here who I can talk with wrestling figures about. A lot of people just don't and will never understand man. They'll always see it as "what? You buy toys of men in their underwear?!" This is my main concern. I haven't had friends over since i started collecting again (I stopped in high school like you did). I honestly just don't want to deal with people when they laugh at the fact that I'm a fan and that I collect "toys" of wrestling guys.

Since I was 7 years old I have been a huge fan and proud of the fact that I'm a huge fan I like and brag about my wrestling collection and when anybody says that's a nerdy or dumb why do you like mens soap operas I look at them right in the eyes and say I'm 36 years old and if I worried about your opinion of what I like I wouldn't be me and if you have nothing better to do with your time than to laugh at me for something I'm passionate about wow you must really have a terrible boring life go home and put on a Nickelback album and enjoy the rest of your day

I really don't care what people think. I've been collecting for nearly 25 years now and I'm 30! I've got Hasbro, Jakks and now Mattel figures all proudly displayed in my wrestling room. Most people think it's pretty cool that I have the collection and that I take it so seriously. My partner has embraced my collecting every since we meet 10 years ago and buys me figures all the time.
Don't be ashamed of it or embarrassed at all. Everyone has their "thing" some people its football, some people it's dance, some people it's painting or singing or they collect star wars stuff or train sets...if everyone did and collected the same thing it would be a pretty boring place. My theory is, the more people that know they more help I get with my collection people people see things out and let me know all the time! Embrace it

All of my friends who know thinks that it's either cool, cute, or don't think of it much. Sometimes they even check for me if they're at a store. They're super helpful and accepting!

I used too, but now I like to show off my collection and talk about wrestling with people openly. If they judge me they aren't worth my time anyways.
I also wear wrestling clothes rather frequently.

Hell no. The day I ever feel embarrased about something I like, I may as well be dead.

Nope. That's not to say that people haven't made fun of it in the past but I didn't want to be friends with them people anyway.

No I'm not embarrassed, but I will admit that when I get figures from the store I ask for a gift receipt to make it a little less weird

Why even worry?
It's now cool and trendy to be nerdy/geeky.
As long as you're taking care of your bills, aren't hungry and have clothes on your back. If it makes you happy, do it.
Having a hobby is healthy, and if anyone looks down on you for it. They have something just as bad or worse they do.

I wouldn't say I've ever been embarrassed at all. But I'm 36 years old and married and thankfully my wife is completely okay with it. And I kinda stopped worrying about what other people think earlier in life anyway. I have a couple good friends who share in the hobby and are enthusiastic about it. Otherwise I basically just interact with people on these forums about it and don't go bringing up my hobby to people I figure might judge me about it. It's funny, sometimes I'll be in the checkout line at Walmart or Target where I buy most of my figures and for a second allow myself to wonder what people in line next to me might be thinking when they see me buying action figures. But then I snap out of it and remind myself I don't really give a d*mn what they think. Sometimes I'll even get a random interested comment about what I'm picking up, especially since I collect mainly the older flashbacks. I also get enthusiasm a lot when it comes to star wars stuff. Anyway, my advice is to just not concern yourself what others think and enjoy the hobby. Associate yourself with others who enjoy it too.

A girl that works in my local Smyths knows I collect them and she giggles every time she sees me buying a figure. It's so embarrasing. Wear a different disguise each time lol. Buy some fake moustaches, and wigs.

Smoking weed, drinking, wearing your pants off your a$$ and disrespecting women is cool but...
Education, morals, family values, independent thinking, and harmless hobbies are embarrassing.
