I hate the "i could be buying drugs or alchohol with the money i spend, but its on figures instead" As if it makes you a saint.
Ive never been embarrassed, because im up front about it. If i didnt have a girl and was trying to get laid, and i spent $400 a month on them...yeah id be embarrassed.

Why would it be embarrassing if you have people in your life that pick on you for it then they weren't a real friend in the first place

I literally don't care if people like what I collect or not. It's not their money, time, or interest.

My wife calls them my dolls. My family, and some friends are aware. Mine are displayed upstairs in a dedicated room. I would probably not share the collection with everybody, but those that matter don't care. My kids love it.
At 36, my biggest concern is what to do when I'm 60 with all of these figures which will be time 10 by then.
Who cares what women think. I would welcome them to run if I were single. Get it in, and then go away please.
I nearly started the Star Wars 6 inchers this week. Passed because I don't have the room or the desire to start and maintain another collection.

My whole entire life except for the past few months. Extremely embarrassed. If someone has a problem with me collecting then they wouldn't even have the balls to say it to my face. I can give two s about what people think about that anymore. Its not necessarily like I try to exploit my collection and passion but if they find out, they find out.

I wouldn't tell my buddies but I am 33, married with a kid. And my wife accepts it though she pokes fun and calls them my dolls or toys and kind of thinks it's gay or whatever in a way. I don't really care. But yeah it would be tough as certain girls wouldn't get it and other friends certainly would think it was silly. But I enjoy it anyways but yes it is embarassing.

I'm not embarrassed about it. Sometimes I get an odd look or something like that but these days who gives a crap? But when I was in grade 8 it was another story. I had all my figures and ring layed out on my living room floor, and then the door bell rang. I had visitors! A group of about 7 girls from school had stopped by for a random unannounced visit and my dad let them in. No warning, no time to hide my toys. Caught red handed, and completely embarrassed, I locked myself in my room jumped out the window and waited for them to leave. I probably could have handled it better but I was a kid. I still wonder what could have happened had I not been playing with my figs. But now I'm over it and I don't care what people think. Life is too short.
