www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/article/smackdown-live-usa-network-july-19?sf26901739=1 A SmackDown shakeup is about to completely reshape all of WWE. Beginning July 19, the second longest-running weekly episodic program in television history, SmackDown, will move from Thursday to Tuesday nights and air LIVE each and every week — for the first time ever — at 8/7 C on USA Network, the exclusive cable home to WWE’s marquee properties.
This bold move will have major ramifications for all of WWE and exemplify the New Era, as both Raw and SmackDown will each feature their own unique rosters and rivalries following an imminent Superstar draft.
"WWE's flagship programs will both leverage the incredible depth of our talent roster, distinct storylines and the unpredictable nature of live TV," WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon said. “This move will undoubtedly build more excitement and deepen engagement with our fans around the world.”
With so many explosive competitors emerging from WWE NXT, and top Superstars like John Cena and Seth Rollins returning from injury, WWE’s star-powered roster has never been stronger. Its historic division and the monumental revelation of SmackDown’s shift to a live format each week reflect the excitement and unpredictability of WWE’s New Era.
What awaits SmackDown on its new night, starting this July? Which live shows will claim your favorite Superstars? What will this all mean for the future of sports-entertainment? Stay tuned as WWE prepares to get shaken up like never before.

I just got my WWE notification about that. This might be a very serious move to revive Smackdown
Let's all remember, SD was pretty much better than Raw from 2002-2009

I don't have confidence in their efforts to pull this off. A three hour Raw with half of the roster? Cutting the roster in half also means possible more rematches than we already get?
Still, I hope they do make it work because when handled right, the brand split was fun. When it wasn't, it was dreadful.

It can't be an official brand split with only one HW championship. Can it?

Here's hoping that they keep one champion and have them work both shows like the beginning of the draft. We don't need another world title that's exclusive to the B Show.
Unless they raid NXT and the indies of talent, I'm definitely wondering how they intend to make this work

Raw being cut to 2 hours has gotta be soon to follow, right? Probably not. WWE has been reportedly wanting to, but USA wants to keep it 3 hours. Money talks.

Also here's hoping they put more of an emphasis on stories again instead of 3 hours of matches with no consequences

Yeah, but, they struggle to fill two hours with the full roster now. I've no idea how they're gonna manage to do a 3 hour show with half the main roster, unless Smackdown is gonna have a tiny roster.

Smackdown going live is excellent. The brand split is absolutely miserable and I'm shocked people are on board with it.
I mean, seriously, we're not very far out from the absolute disaster of the first one. Memory spans for wrestling fans can't really be that short, right?
Not to mention, with an hour less, Smackdown is automatically inferior.

Make Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Kalisto and AJ Styles the new Smackdown Six.

The WHC must return then. And after the new women's championship?
Wtf.. They can't have a brand split but only one champion, can they? Will the champion be on both shows?
If they do bring the WHC back, who wins it? Do they present the title to someone like Bischoff did to Triple H? Do they have a tournament?
I could seriously see Styles being the guy to carry SmackDown and become the WHC. Him or Owens. It'd do more for Owens, but anyway.
What does this mean for MITB? I'm full of questions but I'm highly intrigued and excited
