You first. Give me examples of widespread, decades-long subculture of child ing that was excused, justified and covered up by their church and just accepted by everyone in the religion. I can give you examples of Christians shooting up Planned Parenthood and a black church in an attempt to start a race war, Christian families throwing their gay kids or on the streets to die and I can give multiple examples of Christians allowing their children to suffer horribly and die from easily treatable conditions because they believed in the power of prayer. My point is that you talk as if Islam is the only violent religion, which is absurd. I am going to start by saying I agree with you on this 100% In fact I used and quoted the same scripture you did earlier in a facebook debate. I said which god allowed this? The one that allowed it to happen, the one that didn't know or was it the one that said homosexuality should be punished by death? Of course the response I got was "Show me where god is killing homosexuals." So, I quoted the same scripture you did and said that if he condones it he may as well be in the nightclub pulling the trigger himself. I will say this, I have heard horror stories, personally from progressive muslims that have fled their country from the conservative muslims about raping kids that would make your stomach turn. They don't cover it up, the embrace it. The conservative muslims that is. I agree with you though, Islam isnt the only violent religion. I believe those problems have more to do with culture than religion. Those people typically come from awful countries where those horrible acts are more or less tolerated.

I tend to think its a mixture of both to be honest.

I just can't stand when people from one religion try to act like they are all good and everyone from another religion is all bad.

Feel free to link me to sites, news clippings of homosexuals being killed by Christians in the name of Christianity. Id love to read them/it. 1) Im still rereading my previous post where I stated that Christianity was perfect (hint: I never said it) 2) I was very willing to let you give me some examples of what you claimed but you ever so conveniently avoided it like the plague. 3) A lone white guy did go to a black church and try to start a race war. That is a fact. I dont recall it ever being stated that it was "in the name of Christianity". On top of that, any time a racial conflict sprung up in those months what happened? Baltimore, NY, Ferguson etc..Riots, looting...more racial separation...What happened in Charleston though? Did you pay attention? The community came together. Those people in the church never rioted, they never looted. The held vigils, they prayed and they leaned on their faith. When the media couldnt make a circus of the events because of people's faith...They blamed a flag. Now Im gonna throw some Budweiser cold hard facts out there to you so hopefully you're sitting down. If I go out and kill a homosexual in the name of Christianity (something I would NEVER do btw) By law I would be held accountable for my actions, tried by my peers, more then likely convicted and ultimately I would venture to guess sentenced to the death penalty. Now here's where I think you're getting lost..... By definition Sharia Law "is the legal framework within which the public and some private aspects of life are regulated for those living in a legal system based on Islam." Notice the word "legal". Do you know what Yemen, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Somalia, and Nigeria have common with the exception of being Islamic states? They all have legal systems, a penal code, that ALLOWS homosexuals to be put to death for homosexual acts. So again I ask you, please show me where somebody, anybody murdered a homosexual in the name of Christianity as I truly would like to read about it. Im sure there might be a few out there, not denying that (Im also sure justice was served to them as well from our Judicial system unlike in Islamic states)...but I can promise there isnt as many as what you'd find in an Islamic run state.

Ok so we're all in agreement.
Killing people is wrong.

Time for the UK to get tough on guns. What are you really hoping to achieve with that? It's pretty obvious to anyone who cares to look that the United States has a major issue with gun crime and that the UK doesn't, as I'm sure you're aware. You're essentially making light of a woman's death for the sake of it, bravo.

This, and for a few other posts I think this thread should probably end here before someone gets absolutely way too out of hand. Not that it partially hasn't but we let the leash a little loose so people could vent and, well, yeah.
