It sure does look like the sinking ship is reaching the very bottom and it looks like they want to make a sell by this weekend. Anybody else think WWE is going to make the purchase and put old yeller down?
It would be a sad day in the industry because one less place to work is detrimental to wrestlers across the world but this has been a long time coming.

We'll find out what happens to TNA by the end of this week. If anybody wants to know what's going on with TNA right now, check the TNA board. Not good news at all.

If the WWE does buy them, I am sure guys like Drew, EC3, Aron Rex, any any other former WWE star that got fired and went to TNA is gonna be pissed, or worried that WWE won't pick them up.
But if the WWE was smart (and they aren't a lot of the times) they would buy TNA and put it on the WWE Network. Cause you know, when you own your own network, you can air anything you want on it and as much of it as you want!

If and when TNA closes it's doors for good I'm sure that good ole J-E-Double F, J-A-Double R-E-Double T will be calling up Pop TV and other networks to try and land Global Force a TV deal.

It's really a shame with what has happened to TNA. Dixie just doesn't know what she is doing. Sure Hogan & Bischoff are also to blame, but she's the one in charge.
I think WWE would be interested for the library alone. Would be nice to include some of the matches on a DVD and would be nice for Network content. I also see some talent like the Hardy's, Storm, Drew, EC3, Sandow, Cody, and a few others will be offered roster spots. Whether or not they accept them is another story.

While I'm sure WWE's interest is soley with the tape library, they probably do want to sign some talents as well. But ,from what I've read at least, the biggest difference between this sale and the WCW sale, is that TNA's current talent contracts are not exclusive. Perhaps some of the older ones are, but my point is if thats true, the company sale this time would mean faaaar less TNA talents are gguaranteed a job compared to when WWE absorbed several contracts of WCW wrestlers during that purchase. Obviously I'm not any more in the loop than anyone else on here. Purely speculation on my part, but this looks to be a deal for network content only and very little else on WWEs end. But if they really want to up the creative ante, put TNA on the Network as an opposition to NXT. Make TNA the WCW to NXTs WWF. While Raw and Smackdown fight for "brand supremacy" on the USA network, let NXT compete with a legit competitor on their own Network. Keeps guys in a job, creates a new environment with an invasion-esque storyline, and opens several doors concerning network content to build off of. ...............but I'm not Vince McMahon.

To be honest I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. If Vince buys TNA I hope he keeps it as a brand. He has the network so a tv deal isn't an issue. Maybe tape it on the same night as nxt? The biggest asset is the tape libarary without a doubt. The next few days should be very interesting.

The biggest asset is the tape libarary without a doubt. The next few days should be very interesting. There's almost zero chance of that happening. If WWE buys the company, they'll effectively be buying the tape library and nothing more. There's no way they're going to take on that debt load and put a brand with no forward momentum under their umbrella. There's no equity in the brand. If they wanted a fourth brand on the Network, they'd be far better off just creating one. They'll pick up the talent they want, and that'll be that.

Isn't there a nice big thread on this in the TNA section? I think everything has pretty much been discussed there.

You are totally right, the TNA talent is screwed. When WWE bought WCW, guys like DDP and Booker T chose to buy out of their contract to work for WWE. Hogan, Nash, Goldberg, Luger, Sting, Steiner, they all sat back and collected those weekly pay checks that they were guaranteed, because I believe their contracts were through something higher than WCW itself. Plus where does it leave someone like EC3?? Can he still use that name on the indys?? Or if Vince buys TNA, does he buy the rights to the name Ethan Carter III?? Those TNA guys and gals must be nervous right now. Especially ones like Aron Rex and Cody Rhodes who JUST signed with TNA.... that's what I don't get either. How can you sign talent to a company, when said company doesn't have the money?? It just seems messed up. I gotta feeling at the 11th hour, TNA will pull through once again, and a few months from now, we will all be having this same discussion once again about TNA, and the same thing will happen.

They want the tape library. A handful of guys will go to NXT. That'll be it. So yes.

If they buy TNA, all it is, is a buyout. They kill the number 2 american tv wrestling show right then and there. All this video library and invasion talk is bull. WWE doesnt want the name TNA all over their network. Thats a whole other can of worms, because some idiot thought TNA sounded edgy. We all know how politically correct WWE is right now and they wont be putting TNA on their network anytime soon. Im sure theyd like to have the library, just to say its theirs. But were a long ways out if ever from getting TNA on WWE programming.
Here's how it will go.
WWE buys TNA. A few wrestlers resign with WWE. The end.
Quote me.

If WWE buys their competition if TNA superstars were smart they would actually want to have a job in WWE but I am sure a handful of them would either go to New Japan or ROH or they would go and work for Double J at GFW but either way I only see WWE only being interested in a few TNA superstars such as Kurt Angle, Matt and Jeff Hardy, Drew Galloway, Bobby Lashley and Cody Rhodes but that is about it

Hardyz and lashley I would love to see.

No reason to assume the debt, buy the tape library. Brand is toxic and most of the talent is useless.
