Nobody else full time has anywhere near the presence of Reigns, except maybe AJ Styles, and he's on record saying he has priorities in life that prevent him being The Guy for WWE. But I'd give Finn Balor a try and see what happens.

Nakamura is going to cement his legacy as a WWE legend by the time he retires.

That's the problem today, they are sacrificing building multiple draws for ONE guy, and it is obviously not working. Kevin Owens love him or hate him, is perfect example of this. He was booked as a coward with no real character development during his title run, only to be squashed by a washed up has-been for short term financial success. All they had to do was book him as a viscous, cunning champion (like in NXT) and have him get some legitimate wins, and then when he loses the moment becomes more important. They really damaged Owens early on when they refused to put him over Cena. Had they kept Owens coming in like a wrecking ball and pushed him straight to the top as a true monster heel, he would be the top heel right now. But unfortunately, it's the same tale that's been told many times over the last 15 years: kill all momentum of everyone else so John Cena (and now Reigns) can look better. I agree that Rollins can be the top face, but he needs to have a solid set of complementary performers, heel and face, to avoid becoming stale. The Attitude Era had a lot of different flavors. They didn't force you back then to accept only vanilla.

Styles isn't even that old. Hes not even 40 yet. He still has years ahead of him. We could be lookin at AJ on top for 5 hell maybe even more like 8 years for all we know. Just look at Jericho he can still go full time no problem and he's close to 50 years old. It's no where near impossible.

There WILL ALWAYS be a number 1 guy.
As far as right now, Styles or Rollins. Rollins by default because of youth.

That's a tough choice. There are a lot of guys that seem like obvious picks on face value.... I think Nakamura has the in ring talent to be the guy but his limited-ish English will be a major hindrance. Plus it remains to be seen how he will be treated by creative, especially if they make the mistake of sending him to Raw. AJ Styles seems like another logical choice, but realistically, how much time does he have left?Rollins should be the guy but we'll have to see how his knee holds up. Dolph Ziggler's days of being taken seriously as a possible top guy by the fans are long gone. A few years ago he would have been my top pick. I think Karl Anderson could be a good choice. But he would need to prove himself with a good midcard singles run. And I don't know how old he is. He could only have a few years left too. For me, there's only one choice: The Miz. He's got everything. He has the look, charisma, he's a hell of a talker and he can go in the ring. Dudes putting on some of the best matches of his career and did the year prior in Japan. He's better than he's ever been. Jericho is 46 and still going strong. AJ has at least another 10 years in him. Hogan was in his late 30's and 40's when he was the face of the WWF and then WCW. Yeah but he said something about only wanting to wrestle for another 3 or 4 years. I'm hoping he changes his mind, but I think he wants to spend more time with his family.

People are overrating Seth. He is a natural heel and has proven that he's not good as a face so to be the guy you have to be good at playing a good guy. Agreed. Which is strange because Tyler Black was a great face. Better heel, but definitely a great face.
