I wasn't really excited for this year's event like I was for last years, it was a decent show overall I guess.
I missed the first hour and a half of the pre show as I didn't get home until 11:30pm. I caught up with it this morning.
Having the 6 man tag match on so early was silly. If they were going to have it on so early, they should've opened the doors early. There was no atmosphere because the arena was damn near empty!
This also affected the CW title match. The CW match was decent, but makes me wonder why Neville ever lost the title. Maybe it gives him more of an edge now. Now that he knows he can be beat, maybe it was a "wake up call" of sorts that will make him more dangerous than ever. Hopefully it gives his character a sort of 'new lease on life', a fresh start to be more dominant than ever.
The SD tag team title match was excellent and thought the Usos deserved the win after their performances as of late. The crowd was hot for this one.
Cena and Corbin was what it was and I'm happy that Cena won because Corbin is a generic wooden mule and I don't get people who think he's great and call him "Big Banter Corbin" and all this other praise. He sucks. He's terrible on the mic, jittery and awkward. But that doesn't mean he can't grow and improve. He's okay in the ring, I love his End Of Days and Deep Six moves, they're great. But he needs to start from the bottom, he's nowhere near ready to be a main event player right now.
The SD women's match was another decent encounter, very happy for Natalya. Makes a change from the usual suspects holding the title.
Cass and Show was a colossal waste of time. That's nothing to do with the 3 involved and everything to do with whoever came up with this awful angle. Splitting Enzo and Cass up still infuriates me every time I think about it. What a truly boneheaded decision that was. Great job geniuses.
Disappointed that Orton and Rusev lasted all of 9 seconds. I don't understand it. But I'm guessing that this feud is set to continue so at least we should hopefully get a decent match out of it.
The Raw women's championship match I enjoyed a lot, not a fan of Sasha Banks but I think this was the right result. They could go somewhere with this when Bayley returns.
Balor vs. Wyatt, eh, it was okay. But this feud was just thrown together in time for SummerSlam and I just didn't care for it. It was rushed. I wish it had been a longer programme. Balor is also the least intimidating guy I've ever seen. He just has zero intensity.
I missed the Raw tag title match, but I like the result very much. It'll make the tag title scene very intriguing!
AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens was my favourite match of the night. Part of me was wondering if Shane McMahon would turn heel so that element kept me in suspense. Outstanding match.
Jinder vs. Nakamura was flat. On one hand, I figured it was too soon for Nakamura to win without much of a build up, on the other hand I think it's time for Jinder to lose the damn title now, enough is enough.
Enjoyable main event, I wasn't that bothered about it going into it but I very much enjoyed it. Glad Brock retained. Even happier that Roman was the one to take the pin, that surprised me actually.
