I guess thats why Almas won tonight. I mean its sad that thats why he won the title, but im glad hes champion. Now i still predict Almas drops the belt in January. Im now thinking 3 way with Cole and Strong.

Triple H confirmed during his post-Takeover Wargames interview on Facebook that Drew McIntyre might have a torn biceps muscle.

The War Games match wasnt terrible but it still wasnt War Games. I didnt go into it or left it feeling like I just witnessed/was going to witness a "human car wreck". I realize having the top on the cage would have effected some of the spots but realistically most of the spots were very..meh. Dain's coast to coast was bad ass but the Super-Duper plex was completely ruined by having everyone catch them. Having it end in pin fall was absolutely terrible idea. The whole idea of War Games is to punish your opponent to the point where they submit or surrender.
Not saying it was bad, it was very good for what it was...but it still wasnt War Games to me. If Im a younger fan that never experienced War Games before, I would have greatly enjoyed this but if Im older and had see the violence of previous War Games I would have found it bland.

Fantastic show. Loved Alestair Black vs. Velveteen Dream, the ending was just brilliant and both guys' stock are on the rise especially The Dream. War Games was great and it looked like Alexander Wolfe nearly killed himself after doing the german suplex through the table. Hopefully he only needs staples and isn't concussed.

i agree on 3 of them... velveteen dream still needs some work. the gimmick is there, the charisma is there, but he needs to polish up in nxt. dont wanna see him get lost by getting promoted too early. IMO no one should get called up right now, but i say McIntyre should be the first outta this group to get called up. Aleister should be the ace of NXT, Roderick should gain a personality, and Velveteen needs a couple years before he moves up unfortunately, i feel like wrestling fans have been saying roddy strong needs a personality for at least 10 years. it wouldve come by now. hes still a really good hand in the ring though. im fine with aleister being the ace of nxt... but i also wouldnt mind him getting moved up before winning the world title, and them having to be pushed into a corner by booking him to lose a match (and thusly the title). either way, i feel like hes a cant miss star... the entrance, the look, the moveset, the all around ability... so whatever they do with him, wont hinder his promotion. but back to roddy real quick... i do feel his credibility will be best in nxt, and hes a very easy candidate for lost in the shuffle mid carder on the main roster, especially on raw... but i do also feel like the main goal of any wrestler, is to be on the main stage. so, let him get his chance to shine, hes a finished product, nothing about him is gonna change by any more time in nxt.

Curious decision to put the title on Almas. It didn’t look like Drew’s injury occurred until the finish, so it didn’t feel like an in-ring call to me. Not that they’d necessarily do that, anyway.
Almas is certainly significantly better off with Vega than he was, but I really didn’t think he was anywhere near ready or established enough to hold the NXT title.

Dream vs Black was everything I hoped it'd be, would've loved for that feud to have had a long run with the NXT Title intertwined in it. Their in-ring chemistry maybe wasn't a 100% tonight but I liked it more than any main roster match I've seen in a while. The Women's Match was good, Ember winning was the obvious but right call. I had a feeling Almas was gonna win to get the belt on a heel and a manager who can get good heat but now it looks like Almas won because Drew is maybe legit injured which would be unfortunate. And War Games, being a WCW kid I love War Games and though this was a little different, I loved it. Takeover is, what, 18 for 18 now?

Dream/Black was fantastic. I have to admit I really have underestimated Dream. He's been doing pretty well.

Another takeover = another great show. Solid matches as always and as an old skool fan that has watched the old war games matches as they happened in wcw I'm pleased with what I saw. It was never going to be like the original blood baths but they delivered a great modern version of an old favourite.

I only caught the last five minutes of Black and Dream, which was extremely entertaining for what I saw, and the War Games match, which I thought was rather average.

So I don't watch NXT, but I was interested in the return of WAR GAMES so I turned it on this morning and while I liked the PPV intro I fast forwarded to the WAR GAMES match and right off the bat I am disappointed. I am not feeling the three teams of three. That just seems odd to me, but I was still willing to give it a chance. But when the lowered the structure there was no roof! WtF!!! It supposed to be two rings in an enclosed structure. Before the match even starts it is already losing the whole War Games feel! It's supposed to have a an uneasy, unrelenting and vicious intimidating feel to it. But just looking at the structure without the roof means I already know there will be some sort of interference before the times elapse or someone will escape the double teams by climbing the cage. So that whole concept and feel of the War Games is already gone. I don't even know if I will continue past this opening 5 minutes because the initial disappointment is so great.

McIntyre losing the title tells me he’s getting called up. I think he’ll show up at the Rumble. I guess there is the off chance he was injured going into the match and needs time but he’s felt like a guy who was more needed on Raw or Smackdown since the day he showed up in NXT.
Almas isn’t a top guy. He’ll lose the title at the next legitimate opportunity.
