Also The statistics show that an individual’s chance of being killed in a mass shooting are actually worse in Europe than in the United States. This doesn't seem to be what the data shows at all! From 2009 - 2015 the "per-capita fatalities from mass-shootings" were -- USA - 0.62 Europe - 0.58 So your chance of being killed in a mass shooting isn't higher in Europe. And of course bear in mind that the European stats are really skewed by having that one very large Brevik shooting happen in a country with such a low population. That ends up giving Norway a "per-capita shooting rate" that ends up being 1000% larger than other countries which then gets averaged in to all the European rates to inflate the total. But I guess accuracy isn't the goal of this article.

Ive not mentioned the rest of Europe The UK has stricter gun laws than the rest of Europe look don't don't change your gun laws, and when its your family (maybe mom, dad or siblings) or even close friends that get caught up in your mass shootings make sure to keep focusing on mentally ill peope see how that works, because its working great so far Mass shootings happen in the U.K.too, buddy. And throwing the possibility of my family being victims of a shooting show that you're a true piece of sh*t. erm March 1996 and June 2010 thats it for the UK do you want me to bring up the US mass shootings just this year alone?? and yes putting family into it was harsh but I'm sorry it could happen and its the harsh truth that you all need to think about

How can you say nobody is trying to take anyone's guns away while you advocate for a semi-auto ban and confiscation/forced trade? You're still taking guns, regardless if it's a forced trade for a different firearm. I don't see the problem. You can still have a gun. It's just a different type of gun. What is the necessity to have specifically an assault rife or an assault style rifle? People can have guns. Have as many guns as you want. Have 200 pistols if you want. Why can't we all just agree to a lower caliber of weapon for the overall public safety? The bottom line is that if you want to shoot up my movie theater, you're not going to be able to carry all that sh*t with you. The problem lies in the fact that a forced buyback/trade relies on the cooperation of the public and only law-abiding citizens will participate, leaving it extremely lopsided in terms of who still owns semi-automatic weapons in this country. With the amount of guns that are out there and untraceable, they wouldn't just dry up like they did in Australia, which is a much smaller country with way fewer guns and is surrounded by water. The black market would undoubtedly thrive and likely cause an increase in crime. With that being said, it's likely that any attempt at a national confiscation of firearms would lead to an even more difficult and possibly violent conflict than what we're already faced with, considering there might be a lot of people who aren't willing to participate, including those whom you expect to enforce the confiscation. Regardless of the media coverage these shocking events receive, it's not common that people are using semi-automatic weapons to go into movie theaters and other places killing people, so forcing a very ugly confiscation onto the law-abiding citizens likely won't make these things any less common when the balance of who owns these types of weapons switches. Most people don't realize that "mass shootings" are typically classified as having 3 or more casualties and they're typically gang-related, so extreme tragedies like this church shooting and the Aurora movie theater shooting aren't indicative of your average "mass shooting." Using these extreme events to advocate the confiscation of all law-abiding citizens' semi-automatic firearms just isn't realistic, in my opinion. Also, you're naive if you think someone couldn't still do a ton of damage in a movie theater with multiple pistols.
