Competion is a good thing. That merger would bring on some major complacency in my opinion. That's my worry. The only advantage I see has nothing to do with WWE. It would be interesting to see the DC and Marvel figures being made the same way.

If Hasbro bought Mattel I’d be shocked Can you imagine DC Legends?

Maybe that’s why they made the retro Hasbro stylized wrestling figures 🤔 Perhaps if Hasbro takes over we could actually get the guys we want from the retro line. And maybe they'd make the packaging nicer and could outright copy unreleased prototypes from years ago, or even re-issue rarities like the green card series. Imagine a wave of "prototypes" featuring R&B Valentine, Mega Maniacs Beefcake, Proto HBK, Green tights Macho and Hart Foundation Anvil. If they can't see a wide appeal, just make it a ringside exclusive set and it'll fly out the doors!

I hope not. I know a lot of people here love marvel legends, I bought a few but could not stand how weirdly proportioned some figures were like venom etc. I also feel like the quality of the plastic feels really cheap. I would say I bought a total of about 5 or 6 figures before selling them and staying with my hob-goblin and green goblin.

Any chance Hasbro still has the old molds so they can make some of the figures that never came out? Would love the Rhythm and Blues, Mega Maniacs, Green Tights Macho, and the Prototype HBK. Especially since Zack Ryder seems to be the only one who has them.

I think if they do buy the company we don't see much of a change in the line. It is successful so I can see Hasbro just letting it run. I do hope that it opens the door for more guys to be made.

I can't recall what brands Hasbro has rights to. I never really like their stuff. I was less than thrilled when WWE went with Mattel but I love it now! I'm a Barbie fan so having two major toy lines in one company is cool. Though, as a 90s baby, I miss Kenner, Galoob and BanDai. Yeah I know BanDai is still around but their products are less than pleasing. Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series are their stand out releases in my opinion. Especially Marvel Legends. for the price of marvel legends compared to wwe figures, hasbro makes wwe look like complete trash

Hasbro trying going the way of Disney is not a good thing. While you are dreaming of what Hasbro can do with the WWE license, reality is big changes will go down. And not for the better. They aren't going to suddenly make more people than before. Fancier accessories and more detailed figures. They are going to cut back. Not just the bane to some existence like the woman dolls or zombies. No, those extra line ups we are getting.
Oh, Bill probably be gone. Hasbro would want to keep things in house and source out his job to someone already part of their system. So no more direct access to MDT.

I think it's time for a change. I think Mattel has kinda gotten into a rut and the reliance on the same people getting the same body parts, despite them being inaccurate, shows Mattel's either refusal to evolve, or their inability to recognize that they need to.
Ric Flair and Sheamus getting the same torso? Sting and Batista getting the same torso? Debut Kurt Angle and Triple H getting the same arms? Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, Chris Jericho all getting the SAME TORSO?
Then stupid things like, why do Elite Razor Ramon/Scott Hall get tall boots, but BASIC Razor/Scott Hall get short boots...same thing with Macho Man and Million Dollar Man. Why does BASIC Sheamus gets arms that were created FOR HIM, but ELITE Sheamus gets the Triple H arms. Why are BASIC Big Cass arms larger than Elite Big Cass arms? Why does BASIC Steve Austin get the Triple H arms, but ELITE Steve Austin get smaller arms......things like that make no sense. That's why when I said in a thread 2 weeks ago that Mattel makes these from a spreadsheet and everyone laughed at me, but look at the evidence and how long the same patterns have been happening. Nobody making an actual decision would make that decision that many times, Unless Basic and Elites are made by different people who don't talk to each other or see each others work. That's the only logical explanation.
The sad part is, Mattel has already existing and created parts that would be better choices than what they have selected, but they just made bad choices. We aren't asking Mattel to spend time and money making AJ Styles a new torso....just use the Sin Cara torso. AJ Styles and Seth Rollins get legs that are too skinny....just use thicker legs. They already exist.
It's going to be pretty funny when we get the new Jinder Mahal and I'd bet any amount of money it has the same parts as his previous figures in trunks, because that's what the speadsheet says. So despite him being a huge muscular monster in real life, I'm betting his figure has the small torso, small arms, and skinny legs he got a few years ago, because that's what's in the spreadsheet. It'l have a new head, though.

I wouldnt want anyone to lose their job but if Hasbro were to buy Mattel, could you imagine a wrestling figure line under the hasbro banner with Bill & Jeremy in charge? Hasbro would be nuts not to bring both them in from Mattel & WCT.

Here is my fear. Would that result in restaffing? Bill better keep his job. #BILL4EVER That would be almost 100% yes. They wouldn't keep the same people or same molds. Complete start over. Basics and Elites are already the longest running figure styles in the last 20 years. BCA legit run lasted, what? 1996 - 1999? TTL lasted 1999 - 2002? R3 lasted 2002 - 2003? RA lasted 2003 - 2010? DA lasted 2005/6 - 2010? It's odd to stay with the same style of figures as Mattel has since 2010. If they aren't going to make new body parts and continue to evolve and make the figures more and more realistic, then I'd prefer to start over. I just don't think it's cool that they've decided that THIS IS THE ONE TORSO AJ STYLES GETS FOREVER.

At the end of the day we don't know how well the wwe license for mattel is doing for them. They never mention wwe sales year over year. It's having some kind of impact because people are buying the figures, but how many ?
But if mattel is overall losing money almost every quarter, something needs to change...

I think This would be awesome. We could maybe get the final series of hasbros that were never made and even maybe some re releases. And we could get marvel themed attires that have been worn before.
