I really feel the time has come for Mattel to step it up a notch. The flashbacks being released lately are wrestlers we already have had in some form or another. Jakks really hit it out of the park with their efforts to get as much legends as possible and Im hoping Mattel really step it up a gear and find some way to get us more legends we dont have.

They need to sign the Steiners, they're worth it.

No. And I WISH Mattel was adventurous with legends as Jakks was. I mean, Mattel does great work but I find it odd how we got Berzerker and Warlord but way more relevant legends have yet to be made or mentioned. Having one or two Flashbacks per set does hinder how many names we get.

The fact we've not had a proper Steiner Brothers release since 1990 is a god damn shame.

Mattel is licensing a WWE line, therefore all their products are WWE partnered.

The short answer is they either can't or won't. We don't know which, but the end result is the same.

The fact we've not had a proper Steiner Brothers release since 1990 is a god damn shame. I liked their Hasbro figures which was 1993 or 1994. If I had to bet, I would say that the WWE is the one holding Mattel back from signing stars separately. I can't imagine Mattel saying no to signing more wrestlers who could help increase sells. But I could see WWE saying no to signing guys that are not under a WWE contract especially if Mattel signing guys separately means WWE not getting a cut.

As a collector, this annoys me.
As a businessman and a fan of Vince, it makes total sense. Control everything!

IF they do sign guys it needs to be WCW mid carders, ECW guys, classic diva's/managers and luchadores

They need to sign the Steiners, they're worth it. Neither Scott Steiner nor WWE think it's worth having him signed to anything WWE related especially for painted plastic.

As they haven't already, i will say no, it must be in their contract with WWE that they can't, they obviously just haven't thought about it

Probably my biggest want atm. Realistically, that is. There's only really two Jarretts they'd need to make. WWF first run, and WWF second run

The answer is yes, but they do not want to pay outside of the wwe talent and do seperate contracts.

I always wished Mattel could go back to doing individual contracts with a wrestler's estate in order to have figures made. I understand that even in this case WWE still maintains ultimate decision if there's a beef between a wrestler and the company (Which is probably why we didn't get a Macho Man until Mattel took over) but having everyone required to be on some legends deal is a little restrictive.

I do long for the days of the Jakks Classics line 6 Figures released every few months now we are getting most classic figures in US exclusives which are really expensive for non US collectors.
Defo think we need a big name to boost the line again Owen Hart will never Happen but Jeff Jarrett/Chyna/Mr Fuji/Hercules/Dino Bravo im sure the lists are done to death

I wish they could go back to signing people. I've never liked the argument of "that person is to niche". If Jakks was losing money, that classics line would not have lasted as long. Or they really wanted to be the toy company to give the customers what they want regardless of finances. But maybe Mattel needs better "deciders". I mean they were going to release a "niche" Richter to FYE. That's niche on top of niche. Mattel may as well have come out saying "The women's three pack is an exclusive to Ollie's".
