What makes it worse are the ones who don't even ask to approach them. And they have a huge stack of pictures they assume the wrestler will sign. And then if the wrestler says "Not tonight, sorry" or "Only 1 signature", they'll go right to social media & say what an unpleasant person they were.

Hanging around hotels and airports specifically to wait for wrestlers and whatnot is going to far. Some people badly just want to quickly meet someone a get a picture... fine, not something I would do... but the people trying to get autographs just to make a buck online is the worst part of it.
In general though, I don’t see any issue with approaching wrestlers or anyone for that matter in a true public setting. Like if I happened to see someone at a mall, or just walking on the street, I don’t see any problem with trying to say hello and get a picture with them.

Hanging out at a hotel/airport...no I wouldn’t do that, but if I was staying at the hotel or traveling and we bumped paths as long as they weren’t with their family I might say something to them. But that would be it. I also wouldn’t bother them at the gym, eating or with their family.

I went to the airport ONE time. Did not dig it. Even with the nicest wrestlers you meet pictures just look awkward with their backpacks and stuff in their hands. Not my jam.
Ive done the hotel before as well wrestlers are usually in better spirits there knowing that they only have to sign for a few minutes IF they want and then head up to their room.
I dont mind it one bit if true die hard fans want to do it. The problem is it is never 100% true fans and there are always scalpers with a million pics who dont even know the wrestler and that kills it for everyone. I can see how it can be annoying but if the worst part of your day is signing 20-30 autographs on your way to your 5 star hotel room then how bad do you have it? I see both sides.
And i am also kind of sick of people acting like its stalking. I live in OKC. We have one main airport. Wrestlers are obviously leaving out on the first flights. Flights start at 6 am. Its not rocket science or obsessive to figure that out. Airports are public. You have the right to approach someone for an autograph. They have the right to decline. Its not as big a deal as people make it to be.
I know i probably sound like one of those people who do the airport/hotel all the time but trust me im not, i just dont get the abhorrent hate for it.

I personally don't do this, but I understand why some do. For many, going to something like WrestleMania takes a lot of effort and money, and if they have a chance at getting a random autograph from someone outside a hotel, I don't think there's any harm from it. If wrestlers don't want to engage, they can keep on walking. Some wrestlers did stuff like this before they became part of WWE (Justin Roberts talks about that in his book). I think a lot of wrestlers, especially the newer ones, would be over the moon to think that their fans want to meet and interact with them. As long as it's done in a respectable way, asking for a picture/autograph in PUBLIC is fine. The wrestlers know WrestleMania week is crazy, and appreciating the fans is what it's all about. No, hanging out outside their hotel isn't really harmless at all. Fans aren't entitled to alone time with Wrestlers when all they want is to relax before a show.

Certainly not my thing. IMO it's an invasion on their personal lives.

If they don't want to engage, that also shouldn't be a big deal.

I've never done this, but there is literally no harm in asking for a pic or an autograph. None.
You're famous. You didn't have to be. You chose to be. You literally signed up for this.

Working for a rather large trauma center in PA I've had the pleasure of taking care of some celebrities after surgeries and whatnot including wrestlers.
One of them requested to not be bothered by anyone unless it was hospital staff and didnt want to sign anything but was still cool to talk to.
They're humans like everyone else and when you see them in their vulnerable state they're humbled.

Hotels, Airports, and eating with family time are no nos for me.
