Some of ya'll can get really pissy about a differing opinion. Awesome "community." LOL. How you gonna come down on people for getting "pissy" over differing opinions while getting pissy over differing opinions? "Community" doesn't mean you get to post something and come back to two pages worth of pats on the back for being brave enough to gripe about the ab crunch. Stay mad about it. I'm not asking for pats on the back or even agreement. But definitely not asking for "you're in the wrong hobby", "delete this thread," "your opinion is wrong", "no one's forcing you to buy it." All of these comments are tribalistic and overly protective, a bit ironic considering how enflamed others can get over tie-dye patterns or knee pad lengths. But a differing opinion, that actually sought a middle ground, on articulation is some sacred ground? Screw you and all of you who took it so personal. And get a life.

^ agree - some get way too upset about opposing opinions.
I’m all for articulation myself, but mattel is not the best at it imo.

I was a huge fan of the finishing moves/final count and r3 figures because of the articulation lol

There's a difference between sharing a comment about a product versus criticizing someone for their opinion.

Can I ask what you actually were asking for then? You just came out of the gate super negative, with the slightest bit of constructiveness peppered in at the end. You should expect the same type of negative responses, esp since you're still being negative. Also, not to condone the negativity over tie-dye patterns or knee pad lengths, but paint applications or choosing the "wrong" parts for a figure when better pieces already exist in their library, is something that could easily have been improved upon by the design team. For instance, I still don't like the boot choice they gave Billy Gunn, they had perfectly good taller molds from the Road Warrior boots that would have worked way better. Hating something like the ab crunch, thats been present on every elite since the beginning, and wanting articulation removed, is different. The extra movement is what makes them elites. Now I would be all for discussing improving the articulation to hide seams more or look more natural on the figure, as long as they don't lose that articulation. I mentioned that I feel NECA does a good job on this. Their knee joints specifically are hidden behind what look like folds in the pants. And they have the same type of torsos the ultimates have, but its way more flush looking on the NECAs, even when covered by clothes anyway. So Mattel could definitely make the pieces more flush, esp since ultimates are the same price point as NECAs. What are some suggestions you would have?

I get what the original poster is saying. To me it does stand out drastically compared to Elites and Basics...I feel like that extra upper torso articulation is unnecessary but at the same time it can be somewhat over looked. Mattel should focus more on better scans and better body and arm choices for certain figures and leave the articulation alone. Elites are good enough no need for more or different articulation...especially in the middle of the figure.
