When you get the package, wrap it and then draw reindeer hoofprints on it. Attach a note from Santa to your daughter saying that one of the reindeer (make it one of the ones nobody cares about like Cupid or Blitzen) was being naughty and had kept her present in their stable, and he only just now found it and had it sent on via ElfPost. Brilliant idea. Thank you.

Thank you. another idea is to tell her that Santa was extra busy this year making toys for everyone and that if she’s extra good he might make a special trip to bring her a little surprise

I’ll put it like this. Things are getting delayed and I don’t mind it as long as I get my stuff. However, USPS is garbage. Literally, garbage. I recently got screwed out of a $300 package due to their laziness. They marked my package as delivered and left it in the lobby area of my apartment building. They said they delivered my package and wouldn’t be held responsible despite the fact that it never reached my door.. It’s not really the eBay seller’s fault because he did his part, so eBay made me file a police report. The process however is incredibly annoying. UPS and Fedex I never really have a problem with.

USPS is swamped. Not even priority mail helps at this point.
Just give it time. I've had items stall out for weeks at a time. Until it's listed as "LOST" it isn't.

How long is "too long", though? This is now the longest I've ever had to wait for a fig, and OF COURSE its Hollywood. I keep telling myself "Well, you waited this long for Hollywood. Whats a few more days?", but I'm starting to not believe my own bs. I get it, pandemic, swamped with stuff, Trump tried to dismantle the USPS, blah blah blah. My buddy and I ordered figs the same day. He got Ultimate Fiend, I got Hogan. He got his 4 days ago, and mine is still "on its way to a USPS facility".

Question for all: Is anybody here selling things on ebay and have a buyer file a claim for an unreceived item because the USPS is being slammed?

Question for all: Is anybody here selling things on ebay and have a buyer file a claim for an unreceived item because the USPS is being slammed? I’m kind of on the other side of the fence. My item was marked as delivered and it never showed up. Package was marked as left in my mailbox, yet logically it wouldn’t fit inside. $300 package too. I had to open a case with eBay and they wanted me to file an incident report to the police, but the USPS didn’t even mark my building number on their tracking so the police can’t file a report unless I get that info from USPS. I’m technically screwed. I’ve been trying to call them for the last few days and nothing.

I have non-figure-related packages that I've ordered in early November that are still "in transit, arriving late." It's a mess.

Question for all: Is anybody here selling things on ebay and have a buyer file a claim for an unreceived item because the USPS is being slammed? Yup. 1000%. Sold something and had the guy constantly up my ass about it and he wouldn’t understand the fact that this is USPS fault not mine, ended up having to give him a refund, but the figure finally arrived to him, but the order is cancelled so I don’t think there’s anything I can do about it. It’s ridiculous

It’s ridiculous I sold and mailed out a waffle maker on Dec 16 and last night got an unreceived item claim. This is not even the USPS fault. It is unreal to be doing online shopping on Dec 15 and expect your package before Christmas when people have been complaining about delays since Thanksgiving. This is a relatively minor issue and buyers have no consideration for sellers who might be out of work and need money or postal workers being overwhelmed at this time. My funds are on hold right now.

My RSC order that usually arrives in one day shipped a few days ago and is now scheduled for Tuesday. Normally it goes from Metro to White Plains to Monsey and finally my PO in the course of one night. But this package has gone to CT after showing it at the Metro hub for 2 or 3 days.

This is exactly why I'm hesitant to sell on eBay again. Most buyers are probably cool, but there are so many who are completely unreasonable and/or just looking to get something for nothing.

How is it shipping? My E83 shipped FedEx Smartpost, which under normal circumstances will take 3 days to get to me. For some reason it only took 1 day this time.

FedEx probably delivered it themselves. I had two packages come from Big Bad via FedEX Smart post and that usually takes 5-6 days from Minnesota to NY but both of those packages FedEx delivered themselves and both arrived in 2 days. As for RSC I always us Priority because it gets here the next day.

I don’t quite understand what makes it do one or the other.

Shipping in general has been shell shocked by the circumstances of a pandemic and the crazy boom of online shopping. I know it stinks to not get what you ordered in the time frame that would be standard, but given the COVID stuff and staffing taking a hit when people have to stay at home to quarantine, on top of way more business that normal this time of year it's not a complete shock that things are delayed/missing the hope for Christmas day.
I've worked in the shipping world for almost a decade currently and it's been one of the most busiest years in my experience.
