think more ‘Kevin Owens US title’ the whole open challenge was a rip of Cena’s US champ open challenge to begin with rkmo is not wrong here. Cody boxed himself into a corner in aew, it was blatantly apparent I mean he literally is though. You are even saying yourself that it is not Cena-like. How could you correct him, but then also say he's not wrong? That doesn't even make any sense. rkmo said Cody egregiously went over in his AEW run. That is just simply not true. His entire feud with Darby was set up to have Darby go over in the end. MJF's entire heel run is base doff of turning on Cody and BEATING him. And Cody put Sammy over clean on his way out. I just can't see how he egregiously dominated the roster like Cena. LOL Edit: Further LMAO www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/cody-rhodes-shares-his-changed-perspective-pertaining-to-wrestling"...that is what I was meant to do then, now I feel no problem in saying, ‘Nope, I’m about myself at this moment. I’m about getting it done for me.’”

he should’ve won at wm39, no need to drag it out to wm40. hope they don’t drop the ball with him with the fans between now and whenever they start deciding to have him start feuding with reigns again

Now that he has finished with Brock, I wonder what Cody will do at Survivor Series. And I wonder if in the meantime, there might be a Jimmy/Jey/Roman three-way for the belt.

Reports coming out that Cody is the top merch seller. Even over Roman. I think it’s working out for him.

Brody, Malakai? that's just off the top of my head.

Cody is fine. Cody is a draw, the fans love him. He should have got the title win at Mania and when he does win it, no it won't feel as special but it will still be a big moment. The issue isn't the story they are telling with Cody. It's the story they are having to tell with Roman to get to the end of the Cody story. The Bloodline story no longer makes any ing sense. Heyman said they were in the "bottom of the 3rd" foe the Bloodline story. They need to put a pitch count in cause it's getting predictable & when that happens people lose interest.

I’m worried they’ll either drop the ball with him when he does win it and/or fans will turn on him

A thought I just had ... Everyone is talking about how Cody HAS to be the one to beat Roman so he "finishes the story", etc. But when you break that down, him winning that ONE match is what people are talking about here. That ONE moment. So ...
What happens after he wins? Do people lose interest now that the story is over? Do people care who he feuds with? Will he become stale like he did in AEW?

Who knows what the future holds but it is WWE booking so time will tell.
If Cody gets cheered 95% of the time and sells an ass ton of tshirts then WWE won’t care what a small fraction of the audience says online

If it follows the traditional WWE booking of World Chimps not named Roman Reigns or John Cena, Cody will be written into some of the godawfullest smoothbrain angles and matches imaginable, all of which he'll have no issues taking part in now. The fickleness will come into play with all his current "avid supporters" blaming Cody and turning on him. WWE will simultaneously cut his merch supplies so as to kill the "he's so popular" argument. He will unceremoniously drop the title on a random Raw episode (best case scenario being a fresh guy but more likely Reigns), and he won't sniff the main event scene again until new contract negotiations start up.

Unpopular opinion here, but I'd much rather Seth Rollins be the one to end the reign.
It's awesome that people love Cody and I think he's good, but I've never bought him as a top WWE champion type guy.

Cody is different. LA Knight is different. They’re both throwbacks. LA to the AE, Cody to the 70’s and early 80’s when champions still wore suits and spoke in a normal voice without the sarcasm or yelling. I’ve been very anti-WWE, but these guys have my attention. It’s perfect timing, because I’ve lost interest in AEW thanks mostly to BM Phil, but also Dynamite is booked horribly.

AEW fans would’ve laid over hot coals for Cody to walk across their backs until they turned on him. Now they don’t understand or won’t admit why he’s so over in WWE. How quickly we forget Stardust. Is Cody over because he's in WWE or because he was in AEW? Cody was a joke in the eyes of WWE and WWE fans when he was there before. Even when Cody was in AEW he was considered a loser in a minor league company. Now that he's back he's the biggest star in the world? Funny how that works.

I believe that Cody made himself valuable on the indies and his work across the world compounded with the start up of AEW made him a star. The star power is/was debatable but he was the top guy in AEW from the jump and the fans loved him with a passion. Cody didn’t fo himself many favors that last year or so in AEW but I think it was the perfect mixture when he returned.. former WWE star, Dusty’s son, the first guy to jump from AEW to WWE and it just so happened he was an EVP over there and was a completely different character/performer than he was last time WWE fans saw him. Plus I think the Mania crowd and Raw after mania crowd reacting the way they did helped set the tone for other crowds But it is funny how it all worked out
