The Undertaker vs Sting... one of the biggest dream matches ever & it got fumbled ffs..... wtf man.
We was so close & I still can't believe it tbh. Sting is retiring next month and it really got me thinking...
2015-2019 was the final chance since Sting finally joined WWE and was under contract for about 5 years. The build up & hype would have been HUGE and the crowd would have loved it.
I'd say the match itself would have surprised us tbh since Sting could always still go in the ring. Taker would have turned up as well.
You guys agree? Disagree?

would've preferred it to what we got with AJ, no offense to AJ at all. but if we're going to have those filmed matches then that would have been ideal to hide sting and taker's weaknesses at those ages.

Never wanted it & genuinely never seen the appeal of it.
When Sting came in it was how I always wanted it..rescuing folks from some injustice or another.
But after a promising start they murdered it in cold blood

The Undertaker just didnt want to do the match even though it wouldve drawn more money and made more sense than Sting vs HHH.

Taker refused to work with Sting. He didn't want the match.
Sting confirmed this years ago.

I could see him jobbing to Taker in short order unfortunately.

It was probably better off that we never got that dream match because it would have likely resulted in a match we wish we could all forget.

This was my biggest dream match and it sucks because a lot of us were anticipating this to happen once Sting signed with WWE. The ball was surely dropped. I believe WWE had multiple times to sign Sting and deliver this match, but it is what it is. I mostly got upset because Sting was more than willing to do the job and had been very vocal about wanting to work with The Undertaker. However, The Undertaker wasn’t interested. The promos would of been insane I’ll tell you that. For me, in a perfect world this match would of taken place in the late 90’s during the Monday Night Wars. You’d have ministry Undertaker and ‘97/‘98 Sting.

Taker refused to work with Sting. He didn't want the match. Sting confirmed this years ago. Why? Because Taker couldn't hang?

Taker was a shell of himself after the concussion. He couldn't hang with Sting. Also Sting would have jobbed.

The concept of Sting vs. Undertaker never did anything for me either.
Not sure how this dream match got blown up into something bigger than it should be. Was it all because of that one year at around Wrestlemania time with the video vignettes that Taker used and people thought it was going to be Sting??
Still, the match does nothing for me, never had, never will. I feel like their styles wouldn't mesh together at all anyhow.

People would have been more into the spectacle than the match. The stand off as the bell rings would have been more iconic and memorable than any of the actual wrestling. You can just imagine the "holy crap" chants as two guys just look at each other.
I think a lot of people would have loved it but I can also see why some people never had any interest.

I would have taken a consolation prize of Taker & Sting vs. someone like the Wyatts in 2015. Just two icons sharing the ring alone would have been an insane visual.
As years went by I relegated to hoping that maybe we'd at least get a "Raw 30-esque" run in where Taker saves Sting or vice versa from some heel attack and again just for that one moment having shared the ring.
Now its just wishful thinking of a potential dream moment that just wasnt meant to be.

I don’t think it would have been good. Like at all. Both men were past their ability to really go. Had it been in the 2005-2010 time period, sure. It just never was a “dream match” to me.
