Honestly, the reason the NFL works so well, is that it's a short season, and there is one game per week, which makes it easy to follow. The WWE is so convultued with all the PPVS and brands right now, it's actually hard to follow. AS a fan, i would love a 3 month break, and I would actually be excited when the new season started.

The off-season should be end season at survivor series and start season at royal rumble. Then they could relax during the holidays. Thats a much better idea actually. It really should happen like that.

Who wouldn't like the first match to start the season be a Royal Rumble. I know I would love it.

Plus to re-gain some revenue lost from tv programming, the performers can do more public appearances/autograph signings during the "off-season"... it wouldn't generate as much money, but it would still bring something back.

i don't think they need an off-season per-say. it wouldn't work for their tv deal and wrestling fans lose interest VERY quickly. if there was an off-season i think their ratings would suffer a great deal. maybe less house shows at certain times of the year would be a better idea than a tv off season. that way for 2 or 3 months they'd only be working 1 day a week, which isn't bad i don't think.

I made a suggestion like this in the Benoit thread, too. Does anyone else think that perhaps the WWE should consider starting an "offseason" in wrestling? It's clear this had to have been psychologically related, and maybe giving these guys 3 - 4 months off per year would help them heal up those nagging injuries and clear their heads. That way, they wouldn't be as addicted to painkillers, steroids, etc., plus the writers would be able to use those months to map out future storylines and stuff. The wrestling season could go from September through April, with the Superstars having off from May through August.

They need to cut down on their schedule at least. Go down to 8 PPVs and run 2 house shows, per brand, a week.

Yeah sounds like a good idea but as everyone says it wont happen WWE will lose money and TNA would get more ratings.

I've always thought house shows should be scrapped. They really should be. They can gain money in other ventures, but house shows just tire the wrestlers out more which later effects their work and eventually burns them out.

Yea, an off-season would be wonderful but it'll never happen. I hope after this whole ordeal that the government finally steps in and throughly looks at this business and how corrupt it really is. The employees are worked to the bone while the employer maintains all the benefits and rights. Not too many other professions don't have the chance for a union or health benefits and many don't require so much work that is so taxing.

When I was deeply involved, I would have said no. Now that the product is at an all time low, and with all the recent injuries and problems, not to mention my dwindling interest, I would be all for something of the sort.

No, the wrestlers from what I heard are paid per week & that would be a MAJOR pay cut since they can't go work Indy feds.. Depends on the wrestler's contract. But, the business as a whole needs a major overhaul, and changing the way wrestlers get paid would be a nice start. They ought to receive a yearly salary, + PPV or performance bonuses. the thing with the performance bonuses is that everything is scripted so you cant really reward a superstar for winning a certain match when its totally up to the writers.

They should take the month of December off to be with their familys for the holidays. Show reruns I know vince wont do it but it would be better for the wrestlers.

Cut down on the PPVS. Seriously too many damn PPVS. Cut down the travleling...Most of all they need mental help for all the wrestlers I agree completely. They have more PPV's then they do months now. 5 main PPV's and a couple Saturday Nights Main Events just like the old format.

I think they need to cut down to maybe 10 PPVs at the most per year and less house shows.

Month PPV per month is fine, it's just house shows that cause problems.
