2,094 Backers with 17 days to go! So far, Mattel has $837,600.00 for this project. I am going to love it - and I mean love it ... when Mattel pivots again and with a week left, says ... "Thanks to all of the believers of this project. It's a project that we truly believe in. Therefore, we have decided to honor those believers and anyone within the final week who chooses to get it either way."
Several things will happen that I would love to see.
1. For those who want the project and believe in it with their money down, get this very cool WCW entrance stage along with the figures. 2. The exclusivity of it, KNOWING it is going to happen either way, will make so many others jump in. In my mind, it would be at least 5,000 but probably more. 3. It will prove that Mattel can be creative and pivot yet again to help those who want it can get it. 4. It also teaches future campaigns that if they want it, they shouldn't wait to see what other people do ... be a leader and do it. 5. I want to watch the people who have no interest in this set - who wasted an ungodly amount of time and energy vomiting their negativity on something they didn't want ... to know now it's going to happen in spite of them. WOW! Will that be fun!

A thought! What if, with a week to go till the campaign ends ... Mattel says, "we would like to thank the fans who have invested in the WCW Nitro Entrance Stage. Since we are going to reuse parts from this display for the future we have decided to honor and reward the 2,084.00 supporters who believed in us and make this for those and any other passionate collectors who jumps in within the next week. As of now this means, that only 2,084 exclusive Scott Steiner and Rey Mysterio figures will exists if the campaign ended today. (Mattel has $833,600.00 from us right now). How many more would jump in? Me thinks a lot. . A LOT! Again, it's psycology. Mattel has already proven that CAN'T doesn't exist which I like. They also in all liklihood will be doing ultimates for Steiner and Rey so this is already helping on that front ... plus the stage could be reused in multpiple ways - so those investors would be sharing the cost of development. Now what happens if everyone learns with a week to go - Mattel is going to honor the 2,084 backers and anyone else who jumps in? People are NOT going to want to miss out! They don't want only 2,084 collectors owning somehting unique that they don't have. The value rises. The lemmings jump off the cliff! Let's do it! That's massively idealistic wishful thinking but doesn't work in the real world business. The Raw stage could ONLY be feasible if this gets past the 5,000 stage (no pun intended), IE the tooling stage. Because for it to be somewhat economically viable, some of the parts need to come from the same molds because of the incredibly expensive tooling. No Nitro stage = no Raw stage. Basically because the Raw stage would be significantly more expensive due to the additional size. It'd probably mean more than $500 easily, and that would probably equate to about £700 for us international consumers :/ So was moving Scott Steiner from the tier. Many said it was impossible! I think what would be great about doing it - it rewards the believers and would be an alert that NOBODY would have a right to be angry! Those who wanted it helped the investment process. Those that are saying it will never happen or I will only get it if it gets there or if they do this or that - Mattel would call their bluff and say we are doing it for these people who believe. I think there would be a lot of believers. In all likelihood the end game works. If it didn't work - they still have had a significant amount of investors help build something that in all likelihood Mattel will reuse items in multiple ways over the many years. That's significantly easier and doesn't result them in losing any money whatsoever. Actually, it works all the time where toy company's make a calculated risk on purchasing the license without product. Creating a product hoping it sells. In likelihood they will be using pieces of this stage one way or another! In all likelihood they will make an Ultimate figure of Rey and Scott Steiner so to get guarantee money for the development of this is not impossible. This isn't even factoring in how many people will jump in because now this isn't speculation but a reality. The philosophy would be ... Do you really want to be one of those collectors who misses out on this? Again, a Hail Mary idea is not the 1st choice ... but if they have an investment on the Monday Night Wars with a ring and Bischoff coming out I wouldn't rule anything out for sure unless I heard it from Mattel.

If it didn't work - they still have had a significant amount of investors help build something that in all likelihood Mattel will reuse items in multiple ways over the many years. I think Steve or Bill have already said in one of their interviews or Q&A's about the crowdfunding items that they have to hit the lowest tier number of backers for it to be economically feasible. If it doesn't hit 5K backers, then it would not be profitable for them to make it, they would be losing money. I'm not worried just yet, there really isn't any incentive right now for people to back this thing. Whether they back it now or on the final day, they still at least get the Stage, Rey and Steiner. Some people may be waiting for their tax refund check to arrive, others may want to wait to see if it even gets close to being funded, and even more may just want to wait to the final day like the early bird Macho special for last year's crowdfund item - that was when the new generation set got funded. The final 24-48 hours will be the time to watch. I appreciate your optimism. Let's hope you're right on the last day or two. On the funding part ... everything Mattel does is a calculated risk. What if they make sets and they don't sell. Here they have. significant seed money to make something that will be able to be used multiple times for various things. The fact that if they make a pivot to say we are jumping in with the current investors and any others that want in ... I would think would not only get them a LOT more investors ... but would help offset the cost. With 2,500 backers that is a Million dollars. Also, a lesson to jump in when the opportunity arrives if it is something you want. For those who don't want it - no harm no foul. For those who do - BINGO - see money and investment for Mattel.

Steve, Any chance this is possible? Hail Mary! What if, with a week to go till the WCW Entrance Nitro campaign ends ... Mattel says, "We would like to thank the fans who have invested in the WCW Nitro Entrance Stage. Since we are going to reuse parts from this display for the future, and committed to Monday Night Wars lines in the future, we have decided to honor and reward the 2,084.00 supporters who believed in us and will make this for those and any other passionate collectors who jump in within the next week. As of now, this means that only 2,084 exclusive Scott Steiner and Rey Mysterio figures will exist if the campaign ended today that will come exclusively with the Entrance. (Mattel has $833,600.00 from the supporters right now). How many more would jump in? I think a lot. . A LOT! Mattel has already proven it can pivot and be very creative. "CAN'T" doesn't exist, which I like. Mattel will also in all likelihood be doing ultimates for Steiner and Rey anyway, so this is already helping on that front ... plus the stage could be reused in multiple ways - over the many years, so those investors would be sharing the cost of development. Now what happens if everyone learns with a week to go - Mattel will honor the 2,084 backers and anyone else who jumps in? People are NOT going to want to miss out! They don't want only 2,084 collectors owning something unique that they don't have. The value rises. The lemmings jump off the cliff! Let's do it! Plausible? Those who didn't want it - shouldn't care. Right? Those who are on the fence waiting for it to get close to 5,000 to see if they would jump in or doubters would have to be believers quick or they would miss ouot. Possible?

Yeah but you do realise they haven’t produced the product yet and only will do so after they’ve finalised the amount needed. Also I don’t think those backers would appreciate being overcharged 400 plus for 2 figures lacking accessories lol No, it would come with everything as seen. How many people would jump in knowing they are doing it one way or another with a week to go? I think a lot! A LOT!!! Also why is this thread not showing up anymore on the forum? I had to search for old comments.

MInus the out of the USA shipping scenario ... The psychology of this WCW Nitro is so interesting. 1st ... I got it the second it was available. I saw the value. 2nd. I personally have multiple Hulks, Rey's, Page's and Warriors so my true desire was the Set and Steiner. 3rd. When Hulk went away it seemed to stall and without something we were in trouble. 4th. Mattel comes up with a solution to make the most desired figure (Stenier) that has never been made by Mattel along with the Set. 5th. It seems that most people say if you could get all 5 figures with the set they would pay $400.00 - and this thing would blow up! 6th. A crowdfund is designed to let the PEOPLE put their money where their mouth is with a saftey net - that if they don't get the value they want at the end of the campaign they can back out. But instead, many wait to see if it gets closer to 5,000. They look to see if others will step in before they do. Some are waiting to see if it's closer to 7,000. Some want all of it to get to the 11,000 before they jump in. It's a game of chicken to see who will do what first. The bottom line is that each customer has a saftey to get out. I wonder what would happen in the last week if Mattel said if we got to 5,000 backers at $400.00 everyone would get everything??? I wonder if it would get to 11,000 because nobody wanted to miss out because of the value? And if it didn't reach the 11,000 ... Mattel said ... sorry - we just didn't have enough to do it. . What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I know people would be furious ... but the rules all along were if we get to 11,000 backers at $400.00 we would get everything. It's just reveresed psycology. How do we get there. Visualize that you will get all of it for $400.00 and do it. Your dream might come true.

I love this! Already in the second, the campaign started, but for Mattel and Steve to creatively look for other ways to make this hit. I can't thank you enough. Good luck to all of us. This will be amazing! It's on us now. Collectors have a real chance to own a once-in-a-lifetime collectible that I think will have more value than we know. Good luck to all! Perspective:
I want the WCW entrance! It is awesome and a great value... even though these are tough financial times for most people.
I am happy with the lineup - although I think Scott Steiner with Rey would sell more, I don't know. Just my gut! I hope they do it and have enough time to let the world know about it so we can put it over the top.
PLEASE NOTE: If this came with 1st in the lineup ... Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner, The Great Muta, Eric Bischoff, Buff Bagwell I think more people would have done it - BUT - I think there would probably be even more people upset who didn't want the WCW set, the size, the cost etc ... but now had a dilemma as to how are they going to get those figures and why do I have to pay so much more for something I don't want. It is so complicated ...
I applaud Steve and the company for the original offering and supported it and understand how complicated it is. I hope Scott Steiner is available soon and the collectors step up!!! I love the set!

This was a well-designed thread opening to show the factual value. Which means the facts of life to produce this is a fact not an opinion. Opinions on whether it has value to them personally are their opinion. In my opinion, it has all of the value and more. I love the look, the detail, the lights, the long-awaited Steiner and the WCW time in my life. So I got mine the second it was available and hope others get it. Again, I have the Raw and Smackdown entrance stage as shown above ... and probably will not get a new one if they design a bigger and better one ... but what I won't do is go on a future thread and tell people it doesn't have value to me and be negative ... because I would hope that those that want it get it. In fact, I'm not sure why someone would take their time to even come to this thread if they didn't want it? Hmmmmmm. I wonder what the agenda is.

Positives I have noted.
1. I am grateful for this forum. 2. I'm even more grateful to have Steve from Mattel interacting with us, informing us, listening to us. This was something I loved when Mcfarlane had his old website. That was so cool when his peeps interacted with us! When that left - it was really disappointing. And there was a huge disconnect. This is the first place in awhile where I have seen direct answers consistently from Mattel and Steve. Thanks 3. I admire Steve and the Mattel teams passion, ability and willingness to pivot to make things work. 4. I also appreciate MANY of the collectors on this board! I love the different points of view, the information, the creativity and the respectful disagreements or ideas to get our passion even better.
Negatives
1. Some of the board members are downright mean, hostile and break the forum's policies in my opinion. They bully, mock, attack and make this place so undesirable at times that it lessens our army of wrestling collectors. Some are so negative in their desire to see things fail that I could swear they are marks from Hasbro infiltrating our happy place. 2. When some board members say "CAN'T" and belittle ideas and passion. My hope is that by Steve and Team rearranging the tiers (which some non-mattel) people said CAN'T happen ... hopefully will happen to show anything is possible. 3. I don't think people should suck up to Steve or feel that if they disagree they can't ... but wanting him to lose his job, attacking him or his company is wrong. If he answers the question you might not like the answer but at least we are lucky to hear it from him and not some belittling people acting like they are Steve - Mattel wannabes. I wish they wouldn't attack with emphatics instead of giving a respectful speculation or different point of view. Sets a much better tone and forum. 4. The last thing ... if you read this thread alone you will realize that it is impossible to please everyone. In fact, there is no scenrio I see that would be perfect or work without a lot of ("I would do it this way" - me included). So one can only imagine how hard it would be to find the right win solution for all of us.
When this campaign is over someone can make a thread on does and don't's opinions on another thread but for now my hope is that we ban together and make this WCW Entrance Stage work!

If this teaches us anything, it’s to never back any of their crowdfunds right away, because they WILL sweeten the pot. They’re 2-2. I think the early backer gift should be for those who back it early only. That's why Macho Man worked because people didn't want to miss out so those early backers jumped in. The Hulk figure was back it early and if we get to 5,000 everyone gets it - if not - all that backed early will not get it. Just a different method of operation that they can re-examine to get even better in the future. It is not easy what they do but I so appreciate their creativity in doing what it takes within reason to make it so.

Unless I'm missing something you can't click on the four choices, so I just sent a message. I'm not familiar with Instagram. Just tap the name of the one you want and it updates the percentage of each one. Right now Steiner is leading with 71% DDP is at 16% Warrior is at 7% Hogan is at 6% On my instagram account it would not let me tap or vote. On my wife's it let me vote and then shows the percentage. Very odd why mine doesn't work but I assume my phone is not the only one that can't vote. So I sent Steve a message of my vote.

I’ve been having some positive conversations. Check out my IG story to make sure your voice is heard. @actionfigureatack WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! So grateful! Thanks for your creativity and tremendous efforts. WOW! I hope I did IG right ... I'm not great at it ... sorry ... but Scott Steiner was my vote. I truly think a new 1st in the line figure (like Scott Steiner) would put it over the top! So impressed with your willingness to fight for this! THANK YOU! Maybe this will jump massive tiers now and the end game we hoped for will get there but in a different way because of this new audible and creativity. LOVE IT!

When I first saw this WCW entrance set a year ago or so ... I thought ... WOW! I want that! (so many people on this board were also begging to get it. I thought if they made that, it would be at least 300 to 500 dollars. The fact that it is $400.00 plus 5 figures to me was a no-brainer and I paid the second it became available. I understand if people don't care for WCW, an entrance set, the line of figures, the adjustable size, the cost etc ... totally get it! But I don't get the passion for bashing it - to want it to fail. The negativity. I simply don't get that on a wrestling site. I also wish people who say they would pay if it included everything ... would. The only way we would find out is if you did it now to see how many of you there are. ... and if at the end you aren't getting what you want, you could back out. The only other thing I would do - not my preference ... but I would do it. IF Mattel needed 4,400 backers that are guaranteed to get the Entrance set and all 5 figures for $1,000.00. I would do it. I would far prefer others would do it now at $400.00 but if that were the only way I could get all ... I would do it. I would even give Steve an extra $200.00 to deal with all of the negativity. . I think the reason that people want it to fail is because they feel it's the only way the message will get across? I don't think it's good value, even if it did hit 11k backers for all 5 figures. The figures are poor and the stage, though impressive, has been made a lot cheaper by custom stage makers and looks just as good. Not to mention the fact that a diorama of your own can include the TNT logo... I'm a little more salty being based in the UK and therefore an international customer, at the ridiculous markup which doesn't add up at all. If this succeeds, the people in charge think, oh this was a big success, we can charge another huge price for the next one. If it fails, surely they sit back and think, maybe everyone moaning about the price weren't just over-reacting etc, but actually had a point? New Gen wasn't worth it - Macho Man added - took it to good value status. This isn't worth it and it's really showing by the numbers unfortunately. I just feel sorry for the people that want this to become a reality because unless drastic measures are taken by Mattel, I can't see it happening. I thank you for hoping it gets made for those of us who want it. I am also sensitive to you at the price and genuinely feel bad. But hoping it fails could also mean no need to pursue anything else that would deem to large for retail. That would be unfortunate. I brought up the successful Galactus figure from Hasbro .... because inflation is higher now by a lot than when it was available. WCW has more lights, more plastic. More figures, Larger with versatility to make smaller, never done before like the other Galactus figures I have ... but Galactus succeeded - so I could see why a transparent offering from Mattel to get all would work. Sadly, I think we are at the point that either more people jump in, Mattel gets creative to pitch another idea for this campaign soon or it fails. Rooting for everyone's success. Including a resolution for people outside the states.
