When I first saw this WCW entrance set a year ago or so ... I thought ... WOW! I want that! (so many people on this board were also begging to get it. I thought if they made that, it would be at least 300 to 500 dollars. The fact that it is $400.00 plus 5 figures to me was a no-brainer and I paid the second it became available. I understand if people don't care for WCW, an entrance set, the line of figures, the adjustable size, the cost etc ... totally get it! But I don't get the passion for bashing it - to want it to fail. The negativity. I simply don't get that on a wrestling site. I also wish people who say they would pay if it included everything ... would. The only way we would find out is if you did it now to see how many of you there are. ... and if at the end you aren't getting what you want, you could back out. The only other thing I would do - not my preference ... but I would do it. IF Mattel needed 4,400 backers that are guaranteed to get the Entrance set and all 5 figures for $1,000.00. I would do it. I would far prefer others would do it now at $400.00 but if that were the only way I could get all ... I would do it. I would even give Steve an extra $200.00 to deal with all of the negativity. . I think the reason that people want it to fail is because they feel it's the only way the message will get across? I don't think it's good value, even if it did hit 11k backers for all 5 figures. The figures are poor and the stage, though impressive, has been made a lot cheaper by custom stage makers and looks just as good. Not to mention the fact that a diorama of your own can include the TNT logo... I'm a little more salty being based in the UK and therefore an international customer, at the ridiculous markup which doesn't add up at all. If this succeeds, the people in charge think, oh this was a big success, we can charge another huge price for the next one. If it fails, surely they sit back and think, maybe everyone moaning about the price weren't just over-reacting etc, but actually had a point? New Gen wasn't worth it - Macho Man added - took it to good value status. This isn't worth it and it's really showing by the numbers unfortunately. I just feel sorry for the people that want this to become a reality because unless drastic measures are taken by Mattel, I can't see it happening. I thank you for hoping it gets made for those of us who want it. I am also sensitive to you at the price and genuinely feel bad. But hoping it fails could also mean no need to pursue anything else that would deem to large for retail. That would be unfortunate. I brought up the successful Galactus figure from Hasbro .... because inflation is higher now by a lot than when it was available. WCW has more lights, more plastic. More figures, Larger with versatility to make smaller, never done before like the other Galactus figures I have ... but Galactus succeeded - so I could see why a transparent offering from Mattel to get all would work. Sadly, I think we are at the point that either more people jump in, Mattel gets creative to pitch another idea for this campaign soon or it fails. Rooting for everyone's success. Including a resolution for people outside the states.

Fascinated by how a Marvel Galactus figure could sell for $400.00 - on a figure made twice prior. One was already pretty large - which is why I did not support the new larger one. And a much larger set - WCW - never offered before - with 5 figures (including a Scott Steiner 1st in the line figure) couldn't hit $5,000. Oh well, I did my part. Hope others do. Grateful to Mattel for their creativity and opportunity. Dude you are really stretching. That Galactus is literally like no other toy that has ever been made. It can hardly be compared to other toys in its price range -- let alone the previous Galactus figures that have been released that were 1/3rd of the size (or smaller) and 1/20th as detailed. For those not familiar: This is it scaled next to a Marvel Legends -- just about the same size of a WWE Mattel Elite. Its 32 inches tall, over 70 points of articulation, LEDs in the head and chest, 3 swappable face plates, and it came with 3 exclusive Marvel Legends figures. They originally wanted 14,000 backers. They added 2 additional stretch goals just for fun and it ended up hitting over 30k. Its probably the current pinnacle of all of high end toys. It is simply incredible. There were zero mistakes made with Galactus. There are plenty of legitimate gripes with the Nitro stage. For Marvel Legends collectors, this was THEE figure. I bet about 1.5% of WWE Mattel collectors felt that way about the Nitro stage -- regardless of how well it's "made. Thanks "dude". That really cleared it up for me. Thanks. Meaning, I gave my opinion ... but it was wrong according to you. How does that fit on people's shelfs? How does it fit in a room? What about the cost in Europe? Didn't they already have Silver surfer (hulk Hogan). Which one has more plastic? Which one is bigger? Which one has more lights? Which one has more figures? Which one was never been made before? My bad. What was I thinking giving my personal opinion. All comments should go to Hard to Kill first to see if he approves before it reaches the forum. This shouldn't be a wrestling forum for Mattel toys where people give their opinions it should be thank god we posted on Hard to Kill's official post instead of the other one or its panties would have really gotten into a bunch. To CM Pants I think you would win the coke! I collect Marvel Legends as well and it is probably a bigger market but for the reasons I gave here I still wonder. Thanks for your input.

Since there is no way to switch up the tiers even though it may jump up sales. Maybe the only 2 options left are.
1. The obvious $5,000 activates Rey and the entrance. 2. 11,000 guarantees everything including the Hogan.

The ways to save this might not be feasible. Maybe if they could get a segment on Raw and Smackdown having wrestlers pimp this thing. As Gorilla Monsoon would say…”Highly unlikely”. And the other way would be to switch around the tiers, maybe have Scott Steiner as the base offering or add him to the base offering with Rey, but I don’t think they are willing to do that. It's not that they're not willing to offer Steiner in the base goal, it's because they can't. These stretch goals aren't some arbitrary number they pulled out of their a*ses, they're factored into how many units they'd need to sell in order to make enough of a profit to justify the new tooling necessary for the figures. These suggestions of moving figures around like they pieces on a board game simply aren't feasible yet they keep getting thrown around and I think that's what is frustrating people the most How do you know Mattel can't? What do you know that everyone else doesn't? Do you know that Mattel is not doing multiple figures of the Steiner's? Do you know if Ringside is doing a deal with them on Ultimate tag teams like they did with USO's that could offset cost? If you do - please share and share your source? If not ... can we see if this is plausible from Steve since he is looking for creative ways to make it work?

Steve,
-Thanks for the crowdfunding opportunity. I love it. -The transparency approach worked for me and I bought mine right away. -Now we can either let it stall at 40 percent or look for other solutions as you stated - which again - I really APPRECIATE.
Here is a thought.
The Steiners have been one of the most wanted figures. You got them. Yeaaa. So I am assuming they are being made in multiple versions regardless. Assuming the tooling is being done - This is also an assumption that both Steiners will be ultimates & Elites, basics either way? If so is it possible that the Scott Steiner Ultimate as seen in the picture will be the first one out with WCW entrance? If this works in the planning would you consider giving a week for collectors to get the Entrance/ Rey which is already there but add Scott Steiner for 1 week to move to the $5,000 backing as well? With the tease that if the mark is met there is a surprise at the 9,000 tier where Scott was? So that gives everyone one week to finish the 5,000. In all likelihood, it goes way over ... if it doesn't - you tried and it is what it is. This is a suggestion to all of you who know a lot more than me. Just trying. Thanks. The other thought is that Ringside could offer an alternate paint version of the Steiners at Christmas in 2024 in ultimates like they are doing with the usos so that too would help cover the cost.

Steve, Could you move Scott Steiner up to where Hulk was? Which I think would get us to the 5,000 and put his brother Rick where Scott was on the tier? People might fight harder to get those two brothers together in those outfits. Doesn't mean they can't make other Ricks & and Scott's but just a thought. I’d love if they could do that, but I think with him Mentioning the tiers were picked strategically rules that out. With Steiner requiring a new body mold, new head etc. that one would definitely be more costly that Hogan (or at least I would think it would be) Haven't they committed to making him already? If so, I'm not sure how it would be more?

-Our forum went nuts when they saw the WCW Entrance stage a year or two ago! Nuts! -So many people - myself included, begged to make it happen. -In looking at the size, lighting, mass etc ... we knew if they ever were to make it, it would be significantly more expensive than the NEW GEN RING. -We saw the announcement that it was coming. WCW (something we have not had yet and a step before RAW which is bigger and more expensive) -The massive design in look, realism and versatility was over the top!! The planning, and marketing were all there. -We saw the reveal and everything was transparent over the top! -The second it was available, I ordered mine. I don't have to wait to see who else will jump in. -It was introduced at Wrestlemania! Marketing with videos, youtube, Instagram, facebook, more videos. Wrestlers - panels. All GREAT! People say I would get it in a second if I could get the whole thing. Well, do it and maybe there will be enough of you to put us over the top. If not - you can back out. I hear the people out of the country and have heard Steve multiple times say he hears you and is deferring to people within the company that might be able to help. In the meantime, I offered to send you the item at the minimal legal cost with not a 1 cent upcharge. I know it's not the same but I care about collectors and if you want it I want to do my best to help you. But forgive the pun but it's all a little foreign to me about shipping overseas. Steve, thanks for all you did and do! Thanks for interacting with us even on Easter! Thanks for looking at creative solutions to help us get it over the top. I appreciate it - YOU - and the positive people on here - and passionate collectors who even if they don't get this are looking for solutions constructively! And to the other negative jabroni's ... and man do we have them ... you all are a hot mess ... but it's Easter ... I forgive you. I will admit the jokes about that book were kind of funny though. I would rather people save up to get the WCW ring than buy my book ... . but if you like Burt Reynolds - I think one would appreciate the stories! I was blessed to know him for 32 years. One fun wrestling chapter in the book with tons of pics ... But if people don't believe me I could care less. I was just sharing a story and my insight for those who cared ... the rest is a lot of negative noise that I feel so bad for Steve that he has to deal with. Bill left because of it. Isn't also against this forum's policy to attack people, troll etc ... whatever ... Support the WCW SET!

I thought I would share a true story about my wrestling experience on a wrestling figure forum! What was I thinking?? I forgot how truly negative and nasty so many people were here so I deleted my post. Steve ... you deserve a raise for dealing with so much negativity. Thanks for answering questions and to the positive folks ... thanks ... I appreciate you! But too many negative and toxic people for me. Super 7 and Power Town are making figures that would fill gaps in your collection. Maybe you should look into them. Got Powertown. Thank you. I appreciate it.

This is a lazy effort by Mattel. Hasbros crowd fund they’ve offered exclusive figures that aren’t currently in anyone’s collection. If you’re just gonna give us the same figures just do repaints to cut the cost. Or since Rey and hogan sell so well allegedly, put them towards the end. In someways I would agree with you ... that since we have not seen Scott Steiner yet in this line ... that to me would have been the automatic 5,000. However, let's say they do a scale Raw entrance. I have a scale raw ring. I have a Raw entrance and if the only way I could get one new exclusive figure would be that I would have to buy and even larger more expensive entrance ... I don't think I would like that. So this is not easy to navigate. I do think Steiner would help put it over the top at 5,000. Trade Steiner for Hogan.

On the one hand, I could see Mattel saying ... "the fans went crazy over the WCW Entrance when we first showed it, so we did our diligence to make one available based on a price point we must have to make it work. It's on you now." Which is kind of what they did.
The other part is an inexact science on how you please the masses or enough to make it go. Figure selection, price point, etc ... and how can fans who want it get it all without depending on others? Is there a price point that could assure this? I would probably pay $1,000 for this set with all included. I wonder how many others would do the same? Would that make it so? I think some are watching the momentum to see if it will get activated before they jump in. Others are waiting until it gets closer to activating Steiner to jump in.
We are at 40 percent there with 27 days left. That's not bad. But I certainly would like to see something creative by Mattel that would help us jump-start this to 5,000 sooner than later. I think others would jump in.

Steve,
What would cost more to make/produce a new Ultimate figure or a WCW Desk and chairs?
Also, would you consider the option for the WCW entrance package so that people could pay more to get the complete set, assuming it got to the 5,000 mark? Pay $1,000? $500.00 - $600.00? To see if that would help you cover the cost? If it did reach $11,000.00 backers ... could you refund the original amount to those who paid a larger amount to implement this?

-In my mind, Wrestlemania was the perfect time to release and showcase this to the masses. -Based on all of our comments when we first saw the Nitro entrance, our board went nuts for excitement so I understand why they chose this item and I am glad. -I know they are using complaints and constructive criticism to better themselves from last time even though it hit all of its marks. -Manipulations of size and execution of the look were really well done for the WCW entrance. -Marketing wise - several videos were done on this. Our forum covered it. It's all over Facebook on ads and then the 160 thousand people who walked through access saw it. -The payment plan overseas is problematic - not fair to the fans there - but not sure Mattel can do anything about it based on the restrictions they are given. If there was a way we could help and it didn't have those restrictions to make it more affordable, I would help at no charge - just the cost it would take (which I have no idea - but am thinking of those collectors. -Losing the Hulk is a different tier model than gaining Macho Man from last time (as stated I am not a fan of that) -I know they want to stretch the customers to get a higher production number (i of course would like that for them) but sadly the Rey figure is probably the least wanted figure to inspire to 5,000 which puts this at risk unless an audible or surprise comes out.
i want to see this made badly ... with everything. Even if they said one has the option to pay $500.00 for the whole thing and if we reach 11,000 they will refund $100.00. That way many who sees the value of the entire lot could get tha either way if we reach $5,000.00. Just a thought.

Honestly, I’m getting to where I could care less about this thing. The lack of promotion and advertisement just make me feel like, as a consumer, that Mattel really care about this either. Bear in mind, I’ve backed four of these. With the New Gen set (backed 4 also), Steve and the team were everywhere. It was advertised everywhere and talked about on multiple platforms. With this, it’s been announced and then not mix since then other than a pointless stream video with incoherent rambling from Page, and then an IG video. I get it was wrestlemania week and all, but first impression are everything and right out of the gate it seems like this has been snake bitten. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong and it gets backed - we get Rey and the stage. Forget about DDP, Scott, and Warrior. Maybe we will get them as elite. Hogans already done for. Unless there’s a pivot done on this stage I think it’s all but done. May will be the final mail in the coffin. Keep the faith my friend. Although I would like all of the figures - my gut tells me that Mattel has thought of a contingency plan to spark new interest or entice others to join in on this with about a month to go. They had an incredible busy week with a lot of things happening and I know it didn't go like you and I hoped but I think they still have time to have a creative audible that works for all.

Steve, I am respectfully asking you and your team if you would reconsider not punishing those who are early backers of the NITRO SET by removing Hulk for us? Last time, what put me over was during the campaign, you decided to throw in Macho Man and the announcer's table. I was on the fence before that ... and that made me jump in because I didn't want to lose out on him. Would you please reconsider this by adding a few days and changing the bonus for those in? I think we will get there, which will be great for you and us ... but taking away something might jeopardize this. I appreciate your consideration. Jesus, at least keep your dignity man My dignity is just fine thanks to Jesus. . I was making a suggestion/request per the purpose of this forum ... not attacking others like some people unfortunately do. Happy Easter.

How come Mattel decided to treat unlocking the hulk hogan crowd fund figure differently from the macho man crowd fund figure with the whole early bird process. Why not whoever orders him before April 7 gets him as opposed to needing 5000 to get him. • Hit the negotiated production minimum on that figure. • To be able to ship with the entire set as there was negative feedback on the experience with Macho shipping separately. • Listening to the feedback from the New Gen and Eternia crowdfunds of unlocking the early backer bonus permanently. • Give maximum potential value for everyone interested in the stage. • To try to retain any momentum for the duration of the crowdfund. By losing Hulk after today if others don't help us get to 5,000 won't we ALL lose momentum for the duration of the crowdfund? I know this is not easy and appreciate the opportunity and am doing my part to make it so.
