He needs the beard and the shorter hair. The Woken look suits 45 year old Matt Hardy, and kind of compliments him whereas Hardy Boys Matt looks ancient in comparison. The 'reunion tour' level way he has of playing all of the hits (Hardy Boyz scream, V1 hand signal, Delete wave) certainly does nothing to make him look any less washed up.

Harper captured my imagination in a way that most wrestlers don't. I'm a huge fan, and I always saw potential in him that many couldn't. At the risk of sounding like an old man (which I will be soon) Harper could've been a main event heel in the 80s and 90s. I could see him having fantastic matches with Bret Hart while being a decent threat for Hogan (especially if paired with someone like Jake Roberts) and carried Warrior to some respectable matches as well. Today I could even see him as a main event challenger. He had good matches with Orton, Roman, and Ziggler, and managed to get over on his own. His solo promos were spooky while being believable. Luke Harper was a guy you wouldn't want to run into in the woods. That said...
There was a glass ceiling in the WWE that he'd likely never have broken through, and it wouldn't have been because he wasn't good enough. I think one thing that hurt him was pairing him with Rowan (and later Strowman) who diminished his own impressive size. As a wrestler and a character he's head and shoulders ahead of both. But he was the Buddy Roberts of the Wyatts. Characterwise he was out-creepied by Bray Wyatt. Harper is a subtle creepy character whereas Wyatt is Bela Lugosi. In the larger than life world of the WWE, Harper was too small to be huge and more of a character than a caricature. Switching to the Dean Ambrose costume didn't help.
That said, he had a helluva career there. I think he can do more elsewhere, and I really hope he gets the opportunity.

It'll be Cena, Reigns, The Rock, and Hogan, with Hogan going over Reigns last, and going on to beat Lesnar with the big legdrop for the strap at Wrestlemania, brother!
Seriously though, as much as I wish it was 1989, the final 4 I'm guessing Aleister Black, Reigns, Rollins, and maybe Tuson Fury or Velazquez at number 30. I would love to see Black win, but I guess it depends on who will be Lesnar's opponent and how we get there (and if he'll be champion at Wrestlemania). As long as it's not Punk I'll be happy.......even if its....Corbin.

Another great set (minus Orton). It's hard to pick between MVP, Ryder, and Gallows, but gun to head I'll go with MVP

He'll do better. I don't think anyone has ever used a SUPER Automated Clearing House gimmick yet.

I watched about 20 minutes of Raw this Monday. Terrible show after a good showing last week. If Punk returns to WWE TV, I won't even waste the 20 minutes. I feel like its inevitable now, especially with Wrestlemania season looming. I really hope I'm wrong.

That was one of the best Elite series in my opinion, and I have an equally great memory of buying them on a trip to Cleveland for an amazing Rush show. I have to say Regal is my favorite, and I still have him. But as much as I loved that Sheamus, Bourne and McIntyre are probably tied for second. I must've sold and re-bought McIntyre 3 times over the years, and the Bourne I just could never part with until earlier this year when I sold off most of my collection. The rat-faced Edge and decent Taker with not my favorite head scan bring up the rear in this tremendous series. For me there has never been a better overall Elite series than 8.

Although I'm not personally bothered by this, I can absolutely understand wanting a particular look, especially if it's an iconic look as part of a particular team or time period. I'm definitely one to nitpick a figure that is a massive want for me, so I have no issue with the nitpick, and I find it more annoying when people Google one single obscure instance of someone technically wearing an attire at the very beginning of a big run, prior to the galvanization of the look, as an argument against the person nitpicking.
Examples: 2 in one Andre - I HATED that figure. The young version was a major want, but they half-assed it by giving him a crappy wig and black boots and a stern face (despite the fact that young Andre was always smiling and usually wore blue or red boots with the blue trunks). Cue someone presenting a one-off photo from 1971 in Japan where he happened to be wearing black boots with blue trunks. Like that's supposed to make it ok. Today they could actually get away with that by adding a second head and a second pair of boots.
Hollywood Hogan proto - black Hulkster weight belt from his brief "dark" run in 1995. He was seen wearing it one time as Hollywood in his very first nWo photoshoot in Fall of 1996 (where he was wearing an airbrushed terminator skull nWo shirt btw) - a far cry from the iconic Hollywood looks of 1997-1999.
This is a forum, discussion including nitpicking is ok. Nothing will likely change, but there's no chance of a running change if there's no discussion.

I agree that the Andre from the first Classic Superstars wave is probably his worst figure ever. Even if they were under a tight budget or whatever financial restrictions, it is horribly inaccurate. Andre never wore a double-strapped singlet. He also never wore kneepads or black wrist tape. Not complaining because of a lack of accessories or a questionable face scan. Just a bad figure all-around that was an easy pass. And that Classic Superstars line was like crack for me those first couple of years. . The worst part about the CS1 Andre (aside from the rest of the series being really good besides maybe Undertaker) was that the proto had one strap! It still had the knee pads and wrist tape, but it was less jarring with the iconic single strap, which heel Andre was known for. But when it came out and it was literally R3 Big Show (RA4 came out at this time) with a passable Andre head it was partucularly egregious. CS 6 and 7 made up for the garbage that was CS1.

I feel awful for everyone who is running into trouble. On the other hand I'm so glad I didn't buy this. The WWE game has historically been the only game I care about all year. The terrible information flow mixed with the nerfed legends roster and the large step back in game play reminds me of the day I bought WWE 12. I remember being devestated that the hit detection and weapon mechanics were significantly downgraded and the numerous game-breaking glitches had appeared. I said it before, I REALLY hope they find a new developer.

They put everything in to make Cactus Jack, but you can remove Mankind’s mask. I went to make a Hollywood Hogan and his left knee pad won’t change to black. Grrr! And in Create an arena I am not finding a way to remove the led on the ring apron this year. The more I try to create the more frustrating it is. You can't even remove Mankind's mask? They really took a step back this year. They probably peaked with 2k18, now they're phoning it in.

Wow, I'm actually really surprised that there's no 80's version of Hogan. I'd have thought for sure he'd be on the disk, with Hulk Still Rules as the DLC. The current roster is great. The legends roster....poor. Not enough to even make a universe out of unless you want to have Andre vs 2002 Hogan.

Just re-bought SVR 2007, and loving it. I like the video gameyness of it compared with the simulation (which I also really like) that of grown tired of. Plus it has GM Mode

I need to mention how much I love X-Pac for telling it like it is with no fear of recourse. That match was straight up rotten, and did nothing to get either guy over with anyone over the age of 7. Would've been fine for TV alone, but as a ppv main event this is up there with Jeff Hardy vs Sting for character derailment. Unfortunately this time both guys are going to suffer

My takeaways:
Hogan looks good. I'm good the bandana is on in the match if they can't just have him bald.
DiBiase confirmed.
X-Pac confirmed
That is all.

I also saw them as a current-day Team Angle. Before Angle's limitations became obvious I really wanted to see one last heel run, where Kurt became world champ (short term) and AA were tag champs. JJ was extremely talented in the ring, and had the size the Gable doesn't. He really got a raw deal. At least he's got a cushy backstage producer job now, and he'll maintain his body better overall even if his neck is shot.

I really like that idea too. I'd be satisfied with that, and actually was expecting Universe to get there. If Universe was as you described I wouldn't say a bad word about it (provided they managed to make it operate without embarrassing glitches). I could live without the management side if the action part was more interesting.

Good call on some of that, I could've seen them add stuff like that. I still feel like it would ultimately come down to winning Inter-promotional matches though. It always felt like everything is filler other than that, and there was never a huge gap between being in the lead or not; it was very rubber-banded. It's very minimal effort to manage contracts and the rest of your financials. Even if you did forget 1 time in SvR06 to renew Edge's contract (despite being reminded to renew it 5 times) when he was pushed and holding a title, it's not like a player is going to fall for that trick year after year. [/quote] That reminds me, I need to pick up Eddie's contract before Raw gets him. For me it's more having something to do. At least I feel like I have incentive in putting the show together. At least the storyline has some background info. Universe is a glorified exhibition mode. This guy vs this guy, little variation in what is considered a rivalry match. In GM Mode all you had to do was have two people in the same match, no matter what it was. Universe has a few good points, but they're very limited, and I'd still rather have the management aspects of GM Mode than directionless matches that go on every single week. More than anything else I'm shocked that they haven't even tried to do more with Universe. The final year of GM Mode was SVR 2008 (because of the roster one of my least favorite games in the series), but that year they had 24/7 mode, which although bad could've been a huge step in the right direction. In my mind Universe should be a combination of GM Mode and a general story mode with elements of Story Designer thrown in. That's exactly what I want from a game. A managenent modes where you select storylines that follow a specific course with specific cutscenes to follow the story. Storyline designer elements come in with regard to promos.
