Hey Guys! I am The New 80's Revolution. A couple folks told me my YouTube channel was being mentioned here so I wanted to come on and invite you all to come take a look. I started my love affair with wrestling figures back in 1984 and it has exploded throughout adulthood, resulting in a very large 80's toy/movie/nintentdo/memorabilia collection. About a year ago I decided to start a YouTube channel, which was originally just me showing off my stuff. Now it has morphed into kind of a variety show on the 80's. I reviewed every LJN figure and almost a complete run of Hasbros. I also showed off my Galoob collection and started talking about Remco figures. If you are interested, please check out the channel and see how it has grown. www.youtube.com/channel/UCTEsyvvz3N2xIYfIiQoVZqg?view_as=subscriberThanks guys Well Jason We meet again in another corner of the internet. RingSkirts Watch his videos people. Great stories about wrestling and wrestling figure. It will give you the warm fuzzies every time.

I do. I'm a big fan and Highly recommend his videos. He goes through the hasbro, LJN, Remco, and Galoob lines. He not only shows of the figures, but he talks about the characters.
Best of hall he shows a more human side of collecting by sharing his personal memories of getting the figures, playing the figures, finding them, who gave them to him and other great childhood nostalgia. Hours of fun.

I was trying to post a pic of the Rude/Warrior playset but the forum wouldn't let me, I guess the site the pic is on some sort of banned list?! So the play set I posted a pic of was actually released?! I was under the impression that this release was cancelled due to the Hogan ordeal and then it was repackaged and re-released with the 2 figures?! Was that set always supposed to be a UK exclusive or is this similar to what happened with the WCW HOF 4-pack that was initially cancelled but then wound up being released in Australia. I recall Target releasing a classic WCW ring w/Dusty Rhodes figure but don't recall this ring being released?! Are you referring to this: This was released by some other company (Wicked Cool Toys), I checked their website and it appears they have discontinued this ring. It looks quite big though, is there no ring in between the basic ring and the ASR?? Anyone know why the decided to release this with a WM2 ringskirt- WM3 is more iconic then WM2 IMO, they should have released it with a WM3 skirt or just a generic wrestlemania skirt. It has WM2 skirt cause wrestlemania 2's main event debuted the big blue cage.

Was there ever a plan for a steel cage or other type accessories? How about referee, managers, or other belts?

Ok Bought it yesterday for knocked down price of £70 with the offer finishing today. Got it home. Its perfect until you come to the ringpost scale. However there is a fix. 3 ringposts slide up to make the ropes higher where they should be. I'm just currently working on how to heighten the forth post. I'm not fussed weather it lights up or not. TBH i do stop motion and pic feds so this feature would be terrible for cam pics. However my idea is buying a second one and using 1/4 of that ring to add onto one. So all 4 post are identical. Theres just one floor in my cunning plan. It seems all the Smyths have sold out already. So ebay will have to be the case. However if anyone is selling bits of the ring let me know cheers. Anyone who's been pricey enough to buy two of these let me know if this actually works. I think judging by research i've done. It will work and look perfect. I thought of this too. I'm convinced that it would work. The lights should even still work on 3 of the posts if you put the extra button post under the ring to be stored. The only issue is I can't see myself paying another $100 to fix the problem. If it goes on sale for like 50, and I get some money for the goldberg loose, that might be low enough to justify buying a second.

But do you have to use the turnbuckle hooks as bkbroiler91 mentioned? Honestly, I have to imagine they could fit because they can fit the RSC ropes which are much thicker than the loops on the Jakks turnbuckles. But I haven't tried it and apparently he has. You can use either the mattel or jakks style turnbuckle hooks

The skirts will be too large. The turnbuckle pads will fit just fine on either ring.

I don't really like the idea of sliding the posts up, because then all of the rope tension is on the narrow track that the posts slide into. Plus you can't raise the one with the button =( I will get it anyway and just deal with the low ropes, because I hate the size of the ASR and I need that Goldberg figure. I might try to make my own custom ring one day. The 3 posts that do slide up are still sturdy. The rope tension does not seem to effect them at all when doing this. The problem lies in that the 4th posts doesn't move. So I did some surgery on the 4th post to see if it could be extended and it can't. I opened it up and there is nothing inside that could slide up. I did write customer service about my complaints. They were polite of course. But appeared not to understand that the complaint was about the rope height and focused on touting that the ring is 20x20. Which in reality it isn't. The ring should be measured by the size of the canvas, not from the outside of post to outside of post. Especially with those big led posts. But oh well. It is what it is. At least folks should be educated now if they choose to buy it. To be fair I knew that this was a problem before I purchased it as when it was displayed at SDCC you could see that the ropes were far too low.

So I think I have found a potential solution. Problem is it requires a second ring purchase. See the ring base has 4 parts. Part A, B, and 2Cs. A has the attachment for the power button post (the problem post that can't be raised up). B. is the same shape as A only with a normal post mount. If there was a way to get a second B section and a plain post all 4 posts could be raised up to the proper height. with a BCBC conficguration. Mattel- "We sold double the amount of rings because we didnt make the posts the right height! We knew people would spend $200 just to fix the ring posts! Lets make a smackdown ring with the same problems!" Im currently waiting delivery on my ring. im not sure how much the height of the posts will bother me until i see it in person. but I dont see myself or my wife letting me get a second ring just to fix 1 post lol Oh I agree that another 100 to try to fix the problem is ridiculous. But perhaps if enough people write a complaint to customer service service.mattel.com/us/ContactUs.aspxthey may try to remedy the problem, or offer the replacement parts for free or a reasonable additional cost through their parts web site. I remember when Jakks released the first RSR ring there was a post issue and they offered free engineered ring post replacement parts upon request. I can hope that Mattel would do the right thing to fix this.

Cheers man looks alot better now. I hope someone can find a way to mod that 4th post that's simple enough. This will potentially save the ring for me. So I think I have found a potential solution.
