If you cry at the thought of never being able to thank your mat heroes for their wisdom & sacrifice, & swell with reverence & pride when you do justice to the ring you're occupying; then you might be addicted.

He is one of the toughest men, & physical workers of his time, & any time before or since.
It's almost droll to think his less than exemplary eyesight is part of why he was so amazing. " If you see a blur that looks like a guy in his underwear, you throw yourself at the blur." Such was the nature of Stan Hansen.
He wrestled in great matches against every true main event player in the WWWF, NWA, AWA, All Japan, & New Japan Pro Wrestling.
He went to war as ferociously against Kenta Kobashi as he did Giant Baba, or Harley Race, or Nick Bockwinkel, as he did with Bruno Sammartino. Regardless of years gone by or injuries accumulated. He really did see & do most everything he could do in the Mat-Game. Which is exponentially more than 90% of wrestlers could ever hope to do. Win or lose, he tagged with great workers, built a collection of championships that read like a fully stamped passport, & above all else: left every shooter, strangler, slugger, street fighter, sissy, schmuck, sadistic psychopath, strap holder, superstar, & seas of spectators knowing damn well who just took them on one HELL of a ride on the business end of a bullwhip.
Many thanks & many wishes of health & happiness. Congratulations, Stan "The Lariat" Hansen.

Just a day and a half from your dreams shattering. No way does Hunter lose. Triple H has often claimed "Until you've beaten me in that ring, in this business, you've done nothing.", & there's been a grain of truth to that these last 19 years. His relentless dedication to being in consummate ring-shape, & obsessively studious devotion to mastering the art of "Veteran's Treachery," has forged him into one of the proving ground for the generation abandoned by it's predecessor main event stars. Now history repeats itself, as a fresh face of a familiar sort seeks to ignite the spark of a trail blazed at the turn of the century. Dean Ambrose has "adopted to the mantle," if you will, of Cactus Jack[Definitive face of truly violent or "hardcore" wrestling during the turn of the century] just as Jack did from Terry Funk. One of the few men to ever push The Game near the limits of his threshold for pain, was Cactus Jack. Given a combination of Dean's similar skills, Hunter's age, time away from the ring, nagging injuries, & a little bit of new school ingenuity, perhaps Dean can prove he's earned his right to do battle for the throne atop the mountain. We will watch a beautiful mixture of history's revival & the future as it unfolds before our very eyes; as the lost boy from the land of "Never say die," waltzes across Texas against the most ruthless, in-ring tactician of the last three generations.

If lio or David Starr do not win the tpt then roh has failed me. The final is set as Brian Fury vs Lio. Makes zero sense to me that Fury is a top prospect.. even though he's been a pro since 1999. Brian Fury has people who hold that opinion RIGHT where he wants them. He wants every man he faces to write him off as a speed-bump instead of a wall. Easy wins equates to easy money & a longer career. A veteran of Fury's inclination knows that every match is the equivalent of running into a lion's den to get your dinner. Come back in one piece with the steak & you win. This is why he lost to Lio Rush. The kid has no concept of wrestling, UNLESS... He's fighting from underneath. He has to treat every opponent as a brush with death, which justifies his ridiculous match pace, & otherwise illogical offense. He breaks the flippy shark rule.

SO happy I spent my 34.99$ tonight.
I enjoyed almost every match, but I can't stomach the young bucking fools no matter the circumstances.
For starters, "The Stone-Pitibull" Tomohiro Ishii seemed to be suffering from Jet Lag, since he hasn't frequented to the states as often as his fellow NJPW roster members, so I'm slightly more impressed that he was able to defend the ROH TV title when it seemed as though Roderick Strong was truly possessed by spirits, & Bobby Fish was particularly alert.
BJ Whitmer (who was returning to competition after knee-surgery) demonstrated how regardless of time off, the brain doesn't rust. Adam Page appeared to lack conviction in his newfound disdain for his former mentor. However, he brought forth the animosity he displayed on ROH TV last week; when his Forward-running Shooting-Star-Press off the apron was essentially a vicious headbutt.
Puroresu's last Samurai was given a true handful in Dalton Castle. The Suplexing Peacock of Honor's Ring gave a true showcase of his esoteric idiosyncrasies & mat-game changing offense. And while it may not have been enough to score a victory over someone who is arguably his greatest opponent to date, it was certainly enough to conduct the Las Vegas fans into a chorus of chants in his favor.
Alex Shelley faired well for a man in an unofficial two-on-one Handicap-Match; and was surprised by the assistance of a former partner for his troubles. Many of us watching were quite surprised to see an impromptu Motor-City Machine Guns reunion in Sam's Town Hall, but I'm holding off on celebrating until Sabin proves his change of heart.
The Briscoes presented a tremendous clinic on how to compete against a team consisting of An Unbreakable Machine & Japan's answer to John Cena only better. Unfortunately for Mark & Jay, however, they forgot the last pages of their lesson plan in their hotel rooms. A splendid tag-team contest regardless, & a significant win for Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin.
As a wrestling purist whether I want to be or not, I have been skeptical of the former Atlanta Falcons player known as "Moose," since he made it to Honor's stage; as I am with all journeymen wrestlers entering the profession after a failed gridiron career. Moose has earned my respect for his athleticism on various occasions, but tonight he proved that he understands the showmanship & psychological strategy that makes for a truly great wrestler through his clever back & forth against the ACE of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
ACH, Kushida, & Matt Sydal are among my favorite Junior Heavyweight competitors from the two promotions represented tonight. When I discovered they would be wrestling against the newly christened NEVER Openweight Tag-Team Champions, Kenny Omega & (Less than ideal) company, I felt the aforementioned trio's chances of winning a non-title contest were a matter of overconfidence on part of The self-proclaimed "Elite of The Bullet Club." However, when I discovered that the match had been changed to have the NEVER titles at stake, & remembering that Kenny Omega has recently gone insane with lust for power & feelings of total freedom to achieve it, I slowly felt my preferred team's chances slipping away. My sense of foresight was proven sufficient.
In the semi-main-event, we were treated to a match I had been specifically excited for, as my love of war history makes me especially fond of seeing turncoats punished. The Ring Of Honor Tag-Team Champions, War Machine, were to be tested in their first defense of the titles on Pay-Per-View since tearing down the Kingdom to gain the gold at the 2015 edition of Final Battle. Their opponents, Kenny Pawn & Wretch Titus, had cheated their way to the number one contendership, & were given their just due in that regard. Not to mention how delicious it was to see Kenny sent through a ladder-bridge from the apron to the guardrail by Raymond Rowe, after King's classless remarks in reference to Rowe's near fatal Motorcycle accident. By way of gold, they forged their swords & by said swords' blade, another so-called King & company fall victim at the hands of Honor's Two-Man Viking Army.
And finally, ROH's answer to Buddy Rogers, Jay Lethal, defended the ROH world title against the most deserving, & the most demanding challengers to his title, respectively. A war of skill, emotions, fortitude, & a debate to determine the very existence of luck was waged in the 14th Anniversary Card Main Event. While you may find contrarian opinions in the press releases of Truth Martini, Jay Lethal certainly gave a convincing closing statement in favor of Luck's existence; when his finishing maneuver "Lethal Injection" took out BOTH Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly; thus allowing Lethal to score the pinfall victory.
My questions going forward is this. "What sort of apologetics will Adam Cole concoct to defend his victimization?" And Will O'Reilly find himself receiving another opportunity in the near future? Jay Lethal has a mountainous task ahead of him, in the form of retaining the Ring Of Honor World Championship through the duration of 2016, & he may very well have already felt the wrath of the man, or Dragon, who will dethrone him.

Christopher Girard.... Biff Busick..... Christopher.... Girard...
I want to say it's an improvement given the serious nature of his wrestling style, but I'll be messing it up in conversation for weeks.
I enjoyed the show tonight. With the exception Of Evil ****ry Maria.

Moolah is a stain on the canvas of our history, paraded around like a badge of honor, when she was a terrible worker & a terrible human being.
The real greatest of the 20th century was Mildred Burke.
Professional Wrestlers have always bedn defined by a wide variety of accomplishments, both focused on championship titles, awe inspiring feats & tales as tall as the marque over the arenas; of all the accomplishments used to define Matdom's legends, Her "30 years as champion" is easily the most meaningless & dishonest.

I know he pinned Mark, which built up to the Briscoes vs Elgin/Tanahashi Match this Friday. Speaking of which, who else is ready for The 14th Anniversary?! What a stacked card! Love the fresh and exciting matches - especially the main. Take note WWE. A must buy for me when it is released on DVD and we finally get a good sale! I find it odd how both FastLane & the 14 Anniversary show have triple threat main events pertaining to the future of the companies respective primary championship. Secondly, this card really does have a great line-up, but I worry certain matches will have less than satisfactory outcomes. Looking at you Young Bucking Retards & All Night Excuses.
