Hasn't Michael Elgin also pinned Jay Briscoe? I know he pinned Mark, which built up to the Briscoes vs Elgin/Tanahashi Match this Friday. Speaking of which, who else is ready for The 14th Anniversary?!

Ishii will be losing that title back to a Ring Of Honor star, so I suppose this is a means to an end. Moving on to my reason for venturing over to my favorite section of WFIGs today, is Jay Brisco still unpinned? If so, then bravo to him. Outside of the loss to Jay Lethal at Best in the World last year, I believe so. I remember Kevin Kelley saying something of the sort on ROH TV recently, & I was hypothesizing who would be the top 4 contenders if Jay Lethal were injured & forced to vacate the championship. I'm loving Lethal is champion for the record, but a Booker always thinks ahead.

It's just a football tackle. It's not a wrestling maneuver. It's supposed to be used by journeymen who retired from Football after injuries, & is a subtle way of saying "Me no know how wrestle right, so me just knock you down now."

This is arguably the most amazing thing to come of an Indy star signing with NXT. And I'm including Bryan Danielson headlining WrestleMania on that list. The fans watching in 2010 will catch my drift.

I don't know about you people, but I'm stupid excited to see the 14th anniversary show! I'm more excited for the Honor Rising shows, but all three events should be fun. I want to see those as well, but I don't have access to see them!

I will openly weep. Hell, I'm almost there now. I'm also blowing my paycheck on Danielson DVDs from the Independents. I give no damns, right now. I refuse to believe, but I will say what I have said since late 2005, when I first discovered him on obsessedwithwrestling.com. Thank You Dragon, for being the greatest pure wrestler of Honor's founding fathers, & being the a pillar of true Pro-Wrestling in a sea of mediocrity & sports-entertainment nonsense.
Greatest, in his own way, of his generation. Thank you, Bryan Danielson.

For those of us who prefer the American Independents, Puroresu, Lucha Libre, European Indies, American Territorial Footage or "Real Old School," & wrestling outside of WWE/McMahon produced content before 1984 etc; finding footage/DVDs/Digital Download isn't impossible, but it isn't as simple as Amazon.com all the time either. Which leads me to this thread. Let's put together a list of the best website retailers of the aforementioned genres of Professional Wrestling.
To start off our list, I present
spam.com (Tons of Territory, Puro, & various wrestling from across the globe.) RudoReels.com (You want AAA, CMLL, & Pro Wrestling Noah for Dummies? They have you covered.) Smartmarkvideo.com (Chikara, Evolve, CZW, AIW, WXW, & just about all over your Indy needs.) Highspots.com (Literally everything mentioned & a little more.)
Anyone else have good sites to add? I decided not to mention ROHwrestling.com, since that's pretty obvious.
Contribute, review, & utilize witty banter!

The growing of his hair was symbolic of his transformation into THE wrestler in WWE. Arguably become the guy in many respects, but irrefutably becoming THE wrestler.
One could also make the argument, that his hair had lost it's volume & luster; not so different from the way Bryan had lost much of his strength. Outside of the context of his territorial career, he really does appear to be David crossed with Sampson. I hope he's healthy enough to return soon.

Honestly, to see a giant who is actually booked properly would pretty nice I don't want him wrestling Undertaker, & would personally give Vince a sponge bath to prevent it, but I would like to have Braun stay dedicated to the profession, & fill the void that's been looming over WWE the last few years. The giants are soon to venture off into their mist; unlikely to ever return to combat.
Every prison movie needs a biggest dog in the yard. I'm just saying.

Professional Wrestling is an art-form which requires total cooperation between it's "Portrayers of Combatants," pardon the poetic liberties taken. However, more often than not in the world of Matdom, the fans' perception of a talent can be altered in a fashion unintended by promoters.
When Billy Robinson wrestled, he rarely used techniques outlandish or impractical enough to require the assistance of his opponent. Whether it be leverage throws, leg sweeps, European Uppercuts, Cravats, Neck Cranks, & for a long time-the Double-underhook Suplex into a bridge.
So the question is, throughout wrestling, 20s to the modern Indies, Lucha, Puro, Catch As Catch Can, & everything outside of & in between, WHAT ARE SOME THE HARDEST HOLDS(moves of any kind) pull off?
Name some of the holds you think are incredible displays of athleticism when executed.
I would prefer to keep the conversation within the boundaries of moves wrestlers could actually use in a legitimate match, such as the Belly To Belly Overhead Suplex, but there's not as much argument against a flying head-scissors, or a 6-1-9, or a Lethal Injection as one would think.
Let the comic fan style debate commence.

Jay Lethal's current character is Ring Of Honor's answer to "The Original Nature Boy," Buddy Rogers. He's a top ranked, arrogant, conniving, technically sound, singles wrestler from New Jersey.
Steals the world title in the perfect crime.
Truth Martini is Bobby Davis, Taeler Hendrix is the gorgeous valet, Dijak is the equivalent of Walter Kowalski starting off as one of Rogers' ringside bodyguards, later becoming a defiant challenger.

Their product is wrestling. That means the primary resource for their product is the wrestlers. WWF got all of it's talent from other territories. They treated Territories as talent mills. They shut down all them talent mills except for their own. They have almost killed every talent mill on earth. That's pretty stupid. And CM Punk said, Vince makes money in SPITE of himself. I'm failing to see how thats stupid, yeah they've eliminated the competition, and they've got NXT where they're making stars, with some of the vet's theyve signed including Aries, Joe, Balor, Owen etc they'll hopefully go back to teaching in NXT when their in-ring career is over. Personally I dont see the harm in defeating all competition and then forming your own talent mill, to take from as you please, without having to worry about "poaching" talent from other companies. It's terrible for the wrestling profession. How is that not obvious? I mean, sinceriously(Arrow) how do you not understand that a small number of territories is ultimately BAD!?

That was beautiful. A real love letter to the art of a Essayist's rebuttal. You're welcome. My screen keyboard didn't register a letter, making it look as though I wrote "A essayist," when I meant "AN Essayist," so you win. Have a cookie.

This is the most close minded opinion I've ever read on these forums. Glad that there's tons of talent out there that you've deprived yourself from. As for the original question, it's simple... Fans hope that with the signing of these talents, that the "powers that be" are finally seeing what we have/have wanted for YEARS and are finally taking the steps toward better the product for WRESTLING fans. You know what though? It really doesn´t affect you. I would not lose sleep over it. I have said over and over I am not a wrestling fan. Only a WWF fan. Way to paint the apple red there, buddy. You really contributed to the thread.

For the most part I enjoy the shows, I understand why they book guys a certain way, some people either refuse to believe or are too stupid to see. People act like WWE really dont know what they're doing, but you dont get to be the only horse in town by being clueless stupid. Some people focus more on what they would do, or how they think things should have happened, by the time they're bitched and complained theyve ruined the show for themselves.
