Main-Event Lyoto Machida (15-0) vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (18-3)- Very hard match to call, believe it or not. I just DON'T see Shogun being rocked, KO'd, TKO'd, or even submitted. I can't see it happening. I've never even seen him hurt. He will be the hardest test RIGHT NOW for Machida. But I just can't bet against Machida. Machida is insane. The guy has won me over as a fan. I was pissed off when he beat Tito but ever since then he has continued to impress me. Shogun has all the tools to beat Machida but Machida has shown in the past that he isn't afraid to be completely elusive for a whole round, even if the crowd starts boo'ing. So I think Machida is going to outstrike and outpoint an exhausted Shogun and Shoguns corner will either throw in the towel in the fourth or Machida will win by UD.
Main Card Cain Velasquez (6-0) vs. Ben Rothwell (29-6)- I think Ben Rothwell is going to rock Cain bad. But I think Cain has too much heart to give up and he will end up pulling out the victory by vicious GnP.
Josh Neer (24-8-1) vs. Gleison Tibau (17-7)
Spencer Fisher (23-4) vs. Joe Stevenson (30-10)- Hard fight to call. Joe Daddy seems to have forgotten that he has some pretty sick jiu-jitsu and has made his past handful of fights a full on boxing match. So I expect not much is going to change and Spencer is going to be more unorthodox on the feet and also will be able to avoid any submissions. Spencer by UD.
Anthony Johnson (5-2) vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida (11-3)- May God have mercy of Yoshidas soul. Anthony Johnson is going to steamroll past Yoshida in hopefully a sign that Joe Silva needs to start signing this guy to fights against guys like Kos, Serra, Swick, etc.
Spike TV Card Eric Schafer (11-3-2) vs. Ryan Bader (9-0)- Bader has shown he has power in his hands and he has amazing wrestling. I expect him to use his wrestling to keep this on the feet where I think he has an advantage. Bader by TKO.
Patrick Barry (4-1) vs. Antoni Hardonk (7-5)
Preliminary Card Yushin Okami (22-4) vs. Chael Sonnen (22-10-1)- Sonnen hasn't looked super impressive to me since coming back to the UFC. I think Okami wins this by UD.
Rob Kimmons (22-4) vs. Jorge Rivera (16-6)- Rivera has some power in his hands. I'm going to say he KOs Kimmons.
Kyle Kingsbury (7-2) vs. Razak Al-Hassan (5-1)- I have only seen one fight with Al-Hassan and he seemed to have some decent power and good strikes...but he keeps his chin way up in the air..hopefully he fixed that..he wins by TKO.
Stefan Struve (17-3) vs. Chase Gormley (6-0)

I still don't understand why Okami is stuck on preliminary cards. This guy was ranked the #2 middleweight in the world by most MMA magazines and sites for a decent period of time (now ranked #3) and is 7-1 in the UFC yet still gets nothing. His only loss was to Rich Franklin back when Ace was probably at his best. Why is Okami still getting crapped on? At least give him a fight in which a win puts him one away from the title. A win against Sonnen will leave Okami where he is and has been since the Evan Tanner fight.
My predictions:
Lyoto Machida Ben Rothwell Josh Neer Joe Stevenson Anthony Johnson
Ryan Bader Antoni Hardonk
Yushin Okami Jorge Rivera Kyle Kingsbury Stefan Struve

Mauricio Rua Cain Velasquez because Cain Velasquez is ing better than you Josh Neer I lean towards Spencer Fisher, but I could see it going either way.. Joe Stevenson is creditably able to win. Anthony Johnson

I just DON'T see Shogun being rocked, KO'd, TKO'd, or even submitted. I can't see it happening. I've never even seen him hurt. Are you friggin' kidding me here?? How soon you forget about his loss to Forrest Griffin. He was beat-up and gassed in that fight until Forrest tapped his ass out. So, don't even say for one second he wasn't hurt in that fight because he clearly was. And what about the Coleman fight?? Same thing there too. He was beat-up, gassed and worn right out. That ing fight was God-awful. It was painful to watch that mess. Anyways, I got Machida winning tonight's main event by either KO or TKO due to strikes until the referee steps in and stops it. Either way, he'll find a way to make Shogun quit. I mean, if Forrest can do it, then surely Machida can do it as well, if not better. Here are my other picks: I like Velasquez and everything. I think he's a hell of a fighter, but I just have a feeling that he's going to get caught tonight. Some how, some way he's going to get caught and dropped tonight I feel. I got "Big" Ben Rothwell winning this one. Josh Neer over Tibau, Fisher over Joe "Daddy", "Rumble" Johnson descimating Yoshida, Schafer over Bader, Barry over Hardonk, Sonnen over Okami, Kimmons over Rivera, Kingsbury taking out Al-Hassan, and Struve defeating Gormley. It should be a great night of fights. I'm really looking forward to it.

Kind of like how I predicted tonights fight...that Machida will beat an EXHAUSTED Shogun, right?

It should be a great night of fights. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm sorry, but your picks are just awful.... Lyoto 3rd Round KO/TKO. Even after shoguns lackluster performance due to his back to back blown ACLs. He is now 100%, I still see him getting gassed around the 3rd round. Thats when lyoto goes in and finishes him. I don't see how Rothwell can win. He was unable to ko a mediocre fighter in Ice Chin AA. And now he thinks he can KO Velasquez? Who has a solid chin + quick recovery + still able to take you down with force? I personally think Velasquez is going to try to finish this fight. 3rd TKO VelasquezGleison Tibau by decision. Gleison Tibau is psychically stronger. Hes going to take Neer down repeatedly grind him to a decision win. Stevenson Decision WIN. If stevenson wants to play the boxer then he will lose. If he plays it smart, I can see him winning competitively. If Yoshida can get pass rumble in the first round, I can see him winning. Plus I see rumble gassing out real quick. If you remember Rich Clementi grappled with rumble and made him look like a joke then choked him out. However the "explosive" rumble is still the favorite in Round 1 TKO/KO. Darth Bader round 2 TKO. Bader will take Schafer down beat him up over and over until round 2 TKO. Schafer has a decent submission game, but not enough to threaten bader. Hardonk vs Barry. K1?? Hardonk has the better submission game, but thats not saying much. This can be a exciting or boring fight. I see hardonk submitting barry round 1. Okami winning in a boring dull decision. Sonnen doesn't have a style where you can just go in and pick him apart. Plus okami is a slow offensive fighter.. Rob Kimmons submission in the first round. Jorge Rivera submission/ground game is below mediocre. I see kimmons getting riveras back and ending it with a rear naked choke. I believe Kingsbury will win a decision. Both of these guys haven't fought in a long time. So its hard to say what they will do and what they have improved on. Chase Gormley will beat skyscraper by taking him to the ground and pounding him to a decision win. Skyscraper on his back really doesn't do anything to avoid punches. His take down defense isn't really impressive.

Are we allowed to post the prelims, or is that somewhat of a "spoiler"?

Are we allowed to post the prelims, or is that somewhat of a "spoiler"? I checked Wikipedia (for lolz) and apparently, Yushin Okami was instead taking on Macho Man Randy Savage, Stefan Struve won via tapout due to repeated teabagging, and Jorge Rivera won via KO due to a flying teabag. I laughed.

Okami lost to Chael ing Sonnen 30-27, 30-27, 30-27?!?!?!? I know I'm an Okami mark... but seriously... call yourself a #3 middleweight? In truth, I'm gonna have to see this fight to see Yushin's supposedly poor performance.

Hahahahaha, Okami loses 30-27 unanimous decision. Goodbye, Okami. How does one loss qualify somebody to get released from the UFC? Yes, 30-27 is a bad way to lose a decision, but winning 7 out of your last 9 fights, isnt bad. I'm sure he will be on a fight night or undercard his next fight.

Clearly it's because he's one of the more boring fighters in UFC.

Clearly it's because he's one of the more boring fighters in UFC. As long as he didnt pull a Kalib Starnes, he'll fight again in the UFC.

Okami has been an overrated, boring fighter for a very long time. Wake up, man. I'm fully aware of that. I was only really annoyed at the fact that he was 7-1 in the UFC and was still on the undercard at each event he fought. He did deserve better... but probably not now. I want to see the fight before I say anything else. Although... I mean... his last fight vs Dean Lister was one of the most boring fights I'd ever seen.
