I suppose anything is possible, but I could never imagine Kos dropping to 155. Doesn't he walk around naturally at around at close to 200lbs naturally? Maybe more? Unless he seriously gives up on winning the WW title, and is desperate to hold a belt, I can't see him putting his body through such a weight drop.
Argue about the "best in the world" topic for BJ and the LW division if you must, but it's clear he has no immediate equal within the UFC. The top 3 contenders are likely Maynard, Edgar, and Griffin (in that order). I love Tyson Griffin and Frankie Edgar, but neither pose a huge threat (especially the undersized Frankie). Maynard will likely go down in the same fashion as Stevenson or Sherk.
Overall, Penn himself is his only tough "opponent". If he gets bored with his competition, and thus lazy with his training, it'd likely be the only thing that could lead to him dropping the belt anytime soon.

Holy , looks like Diego got into a car accident tonight.

BJ is the most talented overall fighter on the planet, as he showed again tonight.
It blows my mind that people actually thought that Diego had a chance, other than just a pure luck punch or something.

and it blew my mind how the majority of the board thought Forrest would win in a dominating way over Anderson Silva....
..anyways I am completely embarrassed by my picks. Jesus Christ I don't think I have ever been so wrong on a card. Last year I did amazing with my picks this year? Not so much...
Frank Mir did an amazing job. He looks huge now. I still hate the guy with a passion for how condescending he comes off towards other fighters but he really did do everything he said he was going to do. I still say he has no chance against Brock Lesnar. I would like to see Mir fight someone like Carwin or Velasquez..it'll be a nice way to see how he does NOW against a big strong wrestler.
BJ Penn is a f***ing animal. I seriously think he will stay undefeated. I think GSP, Anderson Silva, and BJ are going to stay undefeated for quite awhile. Which honestly blows. Because all of the fights against "top contenders" look completely one-sided. I am a fan of GSP and Silva (not so much Penn, but I respect his talent) but it would be nice to see someone actually pose a challenge against them.
Kenny Florian looked great against Guida. Wonder who he gets next...Edgar? Diego?

Kos weighs between 190lbs when training (which is 350 days a year) and about 195-200 when he eats his victory pizza with mark and kath. With his waffles, eggs, turkey bacon breakfast. And 12 pack of hoegaarden(sp?) we all drink when someone wins.
Kos will be more likely to go up weight, same with Swick. Jon would be the most willing to make himself weigh 180 (legit, again weighs about 190-210lbs depending on how between fights he is) and cut to 155. But I really don't see it happening unless Kos or Swick win the WW title.
Kos and Swick are the very very least they can weigh at WW.

No why would he do that if he has to cut to make 170? Most fighters do cut weight. I am not sure how much weight kos cuts, so i was simply asking if he thinks he could make 155. Im just trying to think of possible fighters/scenarios that give BJ problems at 55. Because its getting to the point where the cards he fights on are going to need SOLID co-main events and other fights because hes becoming untouchable. Koscheck would end up getting his a$$ beat worse than Diego if he stepped in the cage with Penn. Koscheck would not come into my mind as someone who would give Penn problems...BJ is unstoppable and hes looking like the GSP of the lightweight division because no one in his weight class can touch him and so people are trying to think of weight jumping fights like Anderson Silva vs GSP just to get something interesting and good out of him. I mean BJ put on the type of clinic last night that when you really look at him during the fight, he is so relaxed and focused that he made it look like Diego was moving in slow motion and BJ was in real time lol. I can't even say I want to see a rematch with BJ and Kenflo if Kenflo climbs back to the top because he just doesn't have enough to stop Penn. I was hoping that Clay Guida would dismantle Kenflo and possibly get a shot at BJ, and the only hope I saw would be Guida with is his unpredictability with take downs and level change and his cardio is through the roof but of course, Kenflo beats Guida decisively so thats out the window. Who do you guys think is the number 1 contender after looking at the Lightweight division right now?

I say give BJ time off. Have Maynard and Edgar face and BJ faces the winner of them...

And mark another wrong prediction for Mr Oldschool! Yeah and for all the others that bet on Diego as well. I wasn't the only one that was picking Diego, so don't make it sound like I was. There were tons of others as well and they were wrong like I was. Simple as that.

Unless they sign Gomi, it'd make sense that Maynard is the most likely, followed by Edgar and Griffin. Maynard beat Edgar, and Edgar beat Griffin. Griffin was beaten by Sherk, and Sherk lost to Edgar, so if you used "simple" ranking methods, it'd make some sense to list them in that order. For some reason, I see Edgar getting overlooked in favor of Griffin though. As for Kenflo, it seems more than likely we'll see him take on Diego pretty soon. You got to remember that Kenny lost 2 title tries (and lost them pretty badly, mind you). The UFC will probably not want to give him any top contenders as they try to find good, new, fights for BJ.

whos headlining the enxt pay per view Rashad Evans/Thiago Silva Anyway, what a PPV. I was 4 out of 5 on my main card picks. I was only off on Buentello's fight. I can't see any lightweight in the UFC posing a problem to BJ Penn. Honestly, people who bash BJ's cardio at 155 are stupid. That question should have been answered way back in the damn Sherk fight AND the Kenny fight. Sanchez: "His weakness is his cardio".... yeah.. at 170. Not at 155. Diego was way off with that statement and he paid for it. I was really impressed with Mir. Just a crushing performance. I don't know if his added size will make a big difference in the Lesnar fight, but it'll sure make it a little more interesting. But wow, a damn good performance. Every fight they showed on PPV was great. Really worth the $44.99

According to FightMetric, Sanchez threw 108 strikes at Penn, and only landed eight of them. That is a 7% success rate. He attempted 24 takedowns, finished 0. Penn hit Diego 150 times out of 214 attempts, for a success rate of 70%. THAT is domination.
