According to Stitch, Lyoto blew his nose after the fight, and that is why his eye was so swollen.

Shogun will win his next title defence. Then face Anderson after that in Anderson's last fight for the UFC. Wow, you think Anderson deserves a title shot after his last performance?? I sure as hell don't and I'm sure neither does Dana White and I don't think he'll give it to him. Why would he reward Anderson after such a disappointing performance in his last fight?? That doesn't make any sense what-so-ever. I believe Dana said he wants Silva's next fight to be on the undercard and I don't blame him one bit. Silva's next fight will be a title defense against Chael Sonnen and then he'll be done after that, wether he's the champ or not. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Anderson Silva remains champion after his contract ends. I really really hope you're kidding. His last few title defenses haven't been the greatest because the guys he fight DON'T challenge him. They're too scared to go toe to toe against him and that's why Silva looks so bored in the octagon. Remember his fight against Forrest? Yeah, you probably do because Silva manhandled Forrest without ANY kind of hesitation or trouble because Forrest pushed the pace, kept going at him and Silva showed everyone in the world that if he has someone that challenges him, he can finish them off like the best. So blame Dana for putting fighters who are too scared to fight Silva. EDIT. No one in the middleweight division is better than Silva so what they should do is move him up to lightheavyweight. If he can destroy Forrest the way he did, then I'm scared for the other fighters.

Koscheck would've made a great pro-wrestler. I mean, he certainly knows how to sell an injury that did not happen...He's a blatant bullsh*t artist. All there is to it. He also strikes me as the kind of guy to use flopping to try to get a free point deduction. He's a talented guy and I don't question his skill or his toughness at all, but he doesn't seem to be above a cheap tactic, either. I don't know Koscheck like our boy Bateman does, but one of my best friends was an average-to-decent college wrestler (he actually got his ass handed to him by Rashad Evans in an amateur wrestling match once, and I don't let him live it down.) Anyway, my friend frequently participated in wrestling camps and seminars, and he once told me about a seminar where Koscheck was one of the assistants giving the other wrestlers tips and pointers. After the more formal training sessions, Koscheck apparently spent some time showing a small group of wrestlers cheap ways to gain an advantage, and how to avoid getting penalized for them. Pressure point tricks, obstructing your opponent's air passage without it looking like a choke, that kind of thing. This friend of mine isn't an MMA fan, but he told me that story ... he specifically remembered Koscheck, because he was taken aback at how casually he would teach guys to basically cheat and get away with it. So no... not surprised that he would flop to try and milk a free point deduction from the ref.

Daley shouldn't have done it... but if anybody deserves to get sucker-punched, it's Koscheck - the man is a 100%, grade A, arsehole. Look no further than his ridiculous post-fight interview. He's also a cheating little sh*t, to boot. I get the feeling that Daley wanted out of the UFC... I think someone on one of the preview shows, said Daley wants to win belts in other companies.

I'm so damn happy Shogun won. I really wanted him to win but I thought Lyoto would come out with a different gameplan this time and win a decision. Lyoto did indeed look out of shape compared to how he usually looks. I can't wait until Dana signs Rampage vs. Shogun II. I am extremely interested to see who would win that.
I also hope to see Anderson vs. Shogun. That is probably one fight I wouldn't feel 100% confident that Anderson would win.

I'm from the UK, loved watching daley & just don't like KOS. However NO-ONE deserves to be suckerpunched, no matter what was said or done. Its a BS move & yet another escuse for people to look down on MMA. If Daley wanted out of the UFC, which I don't believe, its because the top guys are talented wrestlers who will run over him all day, every day Kos' interview afterwards was funny as hell.

Cecil Peeples reaction to Lyoto/Shogun

"Lyoto was definitely not knocked out. Karate masters will sometimes meditate while absorbing punches...it's a defense mechanism taught at the highest levels of Karate. The referee should have realized this. Lyoto won that fight in my book"

So glad Shogun won, but I guess my prediction of Slice was way off...Will his series 5 figure still get made, I wonder?
As for Daley...man...no need for that at all, like others have said...

I'm SO GLAD someone finally stepped up and smacked the crapout of Machida. Shogun is awesome.

I could not be more surprised Shogun beat Machida. I thought Machida would have trained harder and fixed the mistakes made in the first fight. Kimbo getting cut/losing doesn't surprise me AT ALL.

all that, here's the real story of the night... A- ing-men. Moment of the year so far. It's gonna be hard for this to be topped. Maybe an epic knockout in the Rampage/Rashad fight, but other than that, this is definitely one of my favorite UFC moments of all time.
