Hitler. Not for the Holocaust but for the long term things he did for the country of Germany. He took a country that was poor and handcuffed by a treaty that prevented any building of an army and cut the nations size down. He turned that country into an industrial powerhouse and expanded the nations borders by any means necissary. He also started the precursor of things many nations embrace to this day such as Public Healthcare. Now I fully anticipate that a lot of people are going to point at this part of my post as particularly offensive but other than the Holocaust part of Hitler's reign he was a smart man who turned an entire nation around and endeared himself to many. There were people who were willing to die for the man. That's impact. People view Hitler as one of the worst people in history yet Stalin also killed hundreds of thousands of people and his vengeance knew no boundaries. He killed because he could.
ANYWAYS other historical heroes I have include the likes of Mozart, John A Macdonald, Alexander Graham Bell and The Buddha This. I completely agree with everything. His bad outweighs his good but he was still a great leader. Like how Chris Benoit was a bad person, but a great wrestler? ![::)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/rolleyes.gif) MLK and LBJ.

John F. Kennedy. That's really all I can think of at the moment. He was seriously one of the best presidents the US has ever had.

It's really just a matter of opinion, but I just felt that the way he handled the Cold War at the time and the civil rights movement was the best thing any president has done.

Lyndon Johnson did more for civil rights then John Kennedy ever thought of doing.

I feel Kennedy would have been a tremendous president had he not been assassinated; however, he really did not do anything noteworthy besides the way he handled the Cuban Missile Crisis. I feel like you are placing Kennedy's face on LBJ's presidency, but hey, to each their own.

The bad outweighs the good, yeah, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great wrestler, just like it doesn't make Hitler a bad leader. No one has ever said Benoit was a bad wrestler BECAUSE of what he did... he's just a piece of crap as a human. Just like Hitler was.

I was flipping through my iPod on my drive to work (very safe to do btw) and discovered "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" on there. I have no clue how it got on there, but I might have driven to work singing about the King of the Wild Frontier. Might have. Anyway, Davy Crockett was a huge hero of mine when I was kid. I don't know why, but I thought he was an amazingly cool person. Then I flipped on a podcast and it started talking about King Arthur which is another story I absolutely loved as a kid about another (allegedly) historical figure. Is there anyone else on here who looked up to certain historical figures as heroes? Fun fact; I'm actually related to Davy Crockett. ![:)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/smiley.gif) Anyway, tbh, I've never really had any historical heroes. The only people I would consider 'heroes' to me are celebrities and not really considered a 'historical figure'.

The bad defines them. They did no good, because they did so bad. Their good should not be recognized at all, because they were so bad as people.

Comparing Chris Benoit to Hitler is ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing stupid to start off with. Everytime I see that comparisson made it makes me want to perform a trachiotomy on myself with a rusty nail. ANYWAYS What Hitler did in terms of the Holocaust had absolutely nothing to do with his political career. It was only done because he had the means to do it but in terms of running the nation he was a smart man and knew exactly what Germany needed. He was the exact person that Germany needed to turn the country around. I knew someone was going to come in and start the argument. I'm not going to bother past this point because some people are impossible to reason with.

Chris Benoit it seems there was a clear cut different person. There was the person fans knew from TV and then there was the person that killed his wife and kids. That's where the split comes from. For Hitler the person that did the Holocaust and the person who helped turn Germany into an industrial powerhouse weren't two different people. There was no distinct seperation between the two like there was for Benoit. I really don't think any sort of likeness between the two makes any sense what so ever.

I'm not saying Benoit is Hitler or Hitler is Benoit. I'm saying that people try to rationalize that they did some good things, but we should look past the bad to see they did some good and we should commend them for it.

If he likes Hitler who cares.. He either don't know what Hitler actually did, or is just into that sort of stuff.

But I don't think Hitler could've done what he did politically without the Holocaust; he turned the nation against "inferior" races, particularly Jews, and killed them; it was the racial superiority concept that allowed the military, fascist regime to succeed and conquer land; if there was no Holocaust, there'd be no racial superiority "concept," and no political success for Hitler, unless he would have decided to take a different route.
