Monday Night Raw | September 6, 2010 | Washington, D.C. "Monday Night Rawesome"
No Intro tonight. Instead, the show opens with the new WWE Champion, The Miz. The crowd is certainly not too pleased with the fact that he has the richest prize on Raw on his shoulder. Balloons begin to fall from the ceiling as the new champion enters the ring. He lets the crowd express their disapproval before he begins to speak. He says that last week, he made history on the 900th episode of Raw. Everybody doubted him then, but nobody can doubt him now. Because he's the new WWE Champion, and more than ever, he is Awesome. He says that the celebration will continue, but soon that celebration must stop because at Night Of Champions, five other men will be looking to take his title. Soon, Ted DiBiase comes to the ring along with Ezekiel Jackson. DiBiase congratulates Miz, but he can't deny it. He is the only reason that he is the WWE Champion. And since Abraham Washington decided to wrongfully suspend his Money In The Bank briefcase for another 28 days, he thinks that a one on one title match is in order. Miz thinks about it for a bit before declining. DiBiase says that Miz owes him one. Miz says that he doesn't owe anybody anything. He is the WWE Champion because he's awesome and no other reason. Miz and DiBiase stare at each other before the former WWE Champion Chris Jericho storms the ring. Miz is able to escape. Jericho takes down DiBiase. Jackson attempt to attack Jericho, but Y2J is able to fight back. DiBiase is soon able to escape to the back. Jericho applies the Walls Of Jericho onto Jackson. He refuses to let go, which prompts referees to come down to the ring to break everything up.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Chris Jericho is shown storming into Abraham Washington's office. He says that he demands his rematch for the WWE Title. Washington says that he can't do that because the contract fro the match at Raw 900 stated that the loser would not get a rematch. So basically, Jericho has to wait in the back of the line for a title match. Jericho grabs Washington by his collar. Jericho threatens him and says that if he doesn't get his rematch, he will have to take matters into his own hands, which will leave The Miz in a hospital bed, and leave Raw without a champion. Security soon comes into the room and restrains Jericho. Washington tells them to escort Jericho out of the arena.
Wade Barrett def. DH Smith (7:52)
This match featured one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, and one half of the #1 contenders. Tyson Kidd and Sheamus were both at ringside. Surprisingly, neither man got involved. As for the match itself, it was a very solid opening contest. A lot of back and forth action between these two big men. In the end, Barrett was able to drop Smith with The Wasteland to get the win.
While Barrett was celebrating his win, Sheamus entered the ring and attacked Smith. Tyson Kidd now got into the action by attacking Sheamus. Wade Barrett attacked Kidd however. The two behemoths were able to lay out the champions. This was the scene that we saw on last weeks Raw. But is this the scene that we will see at Night Of Champions?
Booker T is shown arriving in the parking lot. Josh Mathews soon catches up with him and asks him if he will finally give the WWE Universe. Booker says nothing.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Diva's Champion Maryse def. Gail Kim in a Non-Title Match (4:12) A decent divas match here. Maryse was coming off of a huge victory last week against the returning Melina. Gail Kim showed great effort here, but it just wasn't enough. In the end, Maryse was able to plant Kim with the French Kiss to get the win. Maryse celebrated her win following the match. It didn't last long however. General Manager Abraham Washington appeared on the titantron. He said that while Maryse did successfully retain her title last week, it wasn't under the circumstances that he had wished for. Therefor, Melina will get a rematch at Night Of Champions. United States Champion Drew McIntyre was shown walking around the backstage arena. Josh Mathews soon caught up with him. Mathews asked him if he feels prepared for his match with Evan Bourne at Night Of Champions. Drew said that he will be after tonight, because he will do what no other man is brave enough to do. He will take on 5 men at once tonight. and all five of these men are very similar to Evan Bourne. A graphic is shown announcing tonight's main event. The new WWE Champion The Miz will team up with Ted DiBiase and R Truth to take on John Cena, John Morrison, and Randy Orton. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Booker T now comes out to the ring. After he grabs a microphone, he says the same thing that he said last week. "Don't hate the player, hate the game." He then says that three years ago, he left the WWE. He had hoped that with him leaving, some of the younger superstars would get the chance to shine. So far, that has happened. Look at the new WWE champion, The Miz. Other superstars as well such as Drew McIntyre, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, R Truth, Bryan Danielson - the list goes on and on. but there's also a ton of young superstars who are not getting their shot. And it's because of guys such as Triple H. So in other words, he is saving the WWE by taking Triple H out. And he plans to rid the WWE of him for good. Soon, Triple H comes down to the ring. He says that Booker seems to be coming back into the WWE for the wrong reason. He's not holding anybody behind. Booker tells him that his lies are infecting the WWE. And that's why he's here. To kill off the infection. Booker then leveled Triple H in the head with the microphone. Booker started throwing lefts and rights at Hunter. Soon, Triple H fought back. Security soon hit the ring to keep the two men apart. Both of them were not ready to stop yet. Booker told Triple H that it's not over between the two of them. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ted DiBiase is shown walking into Abraham Washington's office. Ted said that he just wanted to make sure that Jericho is out of the building. Washington said that he's glad that DiBiase is there. Washington asked Ted if he knew the definition of a champion. Ted said that it's what he's going to very soon. Washington said that a champion is somebody who holds a high honor and has a belt to prove it. And from his understanding, Ezekiel Jackson is the Million Dollar Champion. Ted asked Washington where he was going with this. Washington said that at Night Of Champions, Jackson will defend the Million Dollar Championship against Chris Jericho. DiBiase is now livid. He argues with Washington, saying that the title was a gift to Jackson and he should not be forced to defend. Washington said that that's too bad because he will defend it at Night Of Champions. "Broken Dreams" hit as United States Champion Drew McIntyre made his way to the ring. He said that at Night Of Champions, he will defend his title against Evan Bourne. A lot of people have been saying that he is not used to facing an opponent with the stature of Evan Bourne. so to prove everybody wrong, he will be taking on 5 men with similar statures to Bourne right now. After a few seconds of silence, five midget competitors come down to the ring. United States Champion Drew McIntyre def. 5 Midget Competitors in a 5-on-1 Handicap Match (3:11)The announcers put over how much of a joke they thought this match was. None of the five competitors stood a chance against McIntyre. Drew ran right through all of them. Since he did not know any of their names, he referred to them as Evan Bourne. He quickly eliminated them by stomping on them repeatedly before pinning them. He soon eliminated all of the unknown competitors and was declared the winner. After Drew was handed back his United States Title belt, he said that he is now ready for Evan Bourne at Night Of Champions. Soon, all of the five midget competitors attacked him. Some of them began to bite his legs. He tried to shake them off of him. Soon, Evan Bourne ran down to the ring and helped the five competitors in the fight against Drew. Bourne was soon able to hit a high knee to the jaw of McIntyre followed by Airbourne. Evan celebrated with the five competitors while holding the United States Title high in the air. The Miz was now seen walking into Abraham Washington's office. He said that since Jericho deemed it necessary to attack him earlier tonight, he will take the night off. Washington told him that he has a match tonight. Miz told Washington that he has a replacement. Washington said that since he does feel that Jericho was way out of line, he will grant Miz the night off. But only this one time. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A preview is shown for this Friday's edition of SmackDown, which will see the main event of Christian vs. Cody Rhodes. As well as an explanation from the winner of NXT Season 2 Michael McGillicuty regarding his decision to align himself with Mr. McMahon's corporate unit. Edge now made his way to the ring. He said that ever since his loss to Randy Orton at SummerSlam, things haven't been going his way. He lost the Six Pack Challenge qualifying match, he basically challenged Triple H for nothing last week. So now, something's gotta change. And it's going to change right now. Suddenly, "Radio" hit as Zack Ryder made his way down to the ring. This was certainly a surprise to everybody. After he got a microphone, Ryder said that Edge needs to stop whining. He has 9 World Championships under his name. There's people out there who don't even have 1, and he's complaining. Edge then asked Ryder who he was. Ryder said that he's the next big thing on Raw, Woo-Z, the chairman of Woo Woo Woo Entertainment. Edge then said that he was sorry, he just doesn't recognize Ryder when he doesn't look like a miniature version of himself. Ryder said that he doesn't recognize Edge without a title on his shoulder. Ryder told Edge to step out of his way, because he's on his way to the WWE Championship. Edge said that if Ryder thinks that he can make a name for himself off of his, then he is dead wrong. Ryder said that he sees it being the other way around. Edge said that if Ryder won't get out of his ring, then he's going to throw him out. Ryder then told Edge that he'll finish what he started. Ryder then attacked Edge. The two of them brawled for a bit before Edge dropped Ryder with a DDT. Edge then saw an opportunity to hit the Spear. As he was charging, Ryder narrowly escaped from the ring. Edge told Ryder not to start what he can't finish. Ryder told Edge that next time, he'll finish it. A graphic is shown for the 6 Man Tag main event, which is up next. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Miz was shown getting in a limo. He said that if the fans want somebody to blame for him not competing tonight, they can blame Chris Jericho. He then said that he's sure everybody is wondering who his replacement is. He is happy to announce that his replacement is the men who is truly the next breakout star despite what the WWE Universe says, Alex Riley. Randy Orton, John Cena, and John Morrison def. R Truth, Ted DiBiase, and Alex Riley in a 6 Man Tag Team Match (11:14)Surprisingly, Riley was able to hold his own despite being the rookies here. As for the match itself, it was a good way to close Raw tonight. Truth and Morrison started things off and the two of them had more of a fight than anything else. Tags were often made. The crowd came alive whenever Cena or Orton were tagged in. In the end, Cena was able to plant Riley to the mat with an Attitude Adjustment to get the win. After the match, the three faces celebrated in the ring. Out of nowhere, Orton dropped Cena with an RKO. Morrison asked him what he was doing, but he found himself hit with an RKO as well. R Truth hit the ring to get in Morrison's face, but he two was dropped with an RKO. Finally, DiBiase suffered the same fate as the other competitors. Orton showed tonight that at Night Of Champions, it will be every man for himself. Orton posed in the ring over 4 of his 5 opponents for the WWE Championship at Night Of Champions. We cut to a shot of The Miz exiting his limo and walking into a hotel. He gets to the front office and asks for the best room in the entire hotel. He then says that he believes that a champions discount is in order for him. Suddenly, Chris Jericho enters the lobby and attacks him. Jericho brawls with Miz all around the main lobby. Their brawl soon spills to the outside. Jericho throws Miz onto the hood of the limo that he was just in. Jericho climbs onto the top and locks Miz in the Walls Of Jericho. Security from the hotel soon enter the scene to break the two of them up. Just like at the beginning of the show, Jericho refuses to let go. Miz screams in pain as Raw goes off the air.

-Interesting new format. Jericho and Miz is heating up and hope you can find a way to not bury both men. -Barrett over Smith was a solid call to hype the tag match. -Maryse over Kim was cool considering she is the champion. -Great promo with Booker and HHH! Really stretching the feud out and looking forward to the matches. -McIntyre over the midgets is a interesting call for a filler. Decent way to get him over. -Big six man tag to end the show! Glad to see the faces win this one. I think Orton's going to win the Six Pack. -Good show; looking forward to Night of Champions.

Friday Night SmackDown | September 10, 2010 | Baltimore, MD "Night Approaches"
No intro tonight. Instead, "No Chance In Hell" hits as Vince McMahon comes down to the ring with his corporate unit. Jack Swagger, The Dudebusters, and NXT Season 2 Winner, Michael McGillicuty. After they get in the ring, Vince says that he wants everybody to give a big round of applause to Michael McGillicuty for winning NXT. The crowd responds with the exact opposite of a round of applause. McGillicuty tells the audience that if they were approached by the most powerful man in this business and was told that he is the future of this company, they would have done the same thing. Vince says that he now has three announcements to make. The first regarding SmackDown and it's move to SyFy. The move will no longer be on October 1st. Instead, the move will happen on September 30th, because SmackDown will be returning to Thursday nights. The crowd seems to like that announcement. The second one is that the Corporate Unit has branched out and joined forces with another unit on SmackDown. After a few seconds of silence, The Straight Edge Society comes down to the ring. After they are in the ring, they all one at a time shake Vince's hand. Vince says that with the Straight Edge Society now on board, they are unstoppable. And there is no doubt in his mind that at Night Of Champions, CM Punk will become the corporate World Heavyweight Champion. And his third and final announcement. On October 3rd, this unit will show Undertaker and Kane no mercy. Because at No Mercy, The Undertaker and Kane will run the Corporate Gauntlet. First, they will take on Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury. If they are able to get past them, then they will face The Dudebusters. If they can get past them, then they will face Jack Swagger and Michael McGillicuty. If Undertaker and Kane can somehow get past them, then they get him. But the odds of Taker and Kane getting past six of the most gifted men on SmackDown are very slim. In other words, Undertaker and Kane have No Chance In Hell at No Mercy. And nobody will be able to stop the Corporate Society.
Commercial Break
A recap of Vince McMahon's three major announcements is shown.
Alberto Del Rio def. Chavo Guerrero (8:12)
This was a rematch from last week. The difference here was that Chavo was a 100% when the bell rang. Del Rio showed here that he is the real deal in the ring and his future looks very bright here on SmackDown. In the end, Chavo missed the Frog Splash, which allowed Del Rio to lock Chavo in an Armbar. Chavo had no chouce but to tap out.
After the match, Del Rio locked the Armbar on Chavo once again. It was very clear that Del Rio's intentions were to hurt Chavo.
A graphic is shown for tonight's main event. Mr. Money In The Bank Cody Rhodes vs. Christian.
Commercial Break
Kofi Kingston now comes to the ring with a cast on his left hand. After he gets in the ring, he says that he has some bad news. After Cody Rhodes' vicious attack on him last week, his left hand is now broken. If it were up to him, he would be facing Cody Rhodes tonight. But he has to follow doctor's orders. He thanks the fans for all of the support that they have given over the past two and a half years. He says that he will use this support to get back in the ring very soon. Kingston is about to leave the ring, but Cody Rhodes comes down to the ring with his Money In The Bank briefcase in hand. He says that Kingston isn't injured. He's scared of him. Kingston says that he may say that Rhodes' is the one who's scared since he always brings his briefcase down to the ring with him. Rhodes says that if Kingston wants his briefcase back, then he can have it. All he has to do is admit that he's scared. Kingston says that he's not worried about the briefcase right now. He just wants to go home and let his hand heal. Rhodes says that Kingston is weak. Suddenly, Rhodes levels Kingston in the head with the briefcase. He then does the same thing that he did last week. He places Kingston's injured left hand in the briefcase and repeatedly stomps on the case. Kingston is now screaming in pain. But Rhodes' is not finished. He places Kingston un-injured right hand inside the briefcase and does the exact same thing. Both of Kingston's hands may be severely injured. Help now comes out for Kingston as Rhodes stand on the stage with a grin on his face.
Commercial Break
CM Punk and Serena def. Women's Champion Kelly Kelly and Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio (7:52)
A very solid first hour main event. Serena and Kelly once again had this chance to showcase their chemistry in the ring before their title match at Night Of Champion. Rey seemed to be a bit distraught after witnessing Rhodes' attack on Kingston before this match. Rey needed to stay focus on the task at hand. He and Punk put on an excellent showing. In the end, Punk was able to hit the GTS on Rey to get the victory for him and Serena.
After the match, Serena took the Women's Title Belt and held it high in the air. Punk took a microphone and said that Christian better be ready for at Night Of Champions.
Commercial Break
MVP, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, and Percy Watson def. Bryan Danielson, Shad Gaspard, Curt Hawkins, and Vance Archer (8:44)
This actually turned out to be a very exciting. Despite all of the competitors being of mid-card status, the crowd was really into this match. MVP and Gaspard really came at each other hard. The two of them have had a very heated rivalry over the course of the past few weeks. Justin Gabriel and Bryan Danielson's feud seems to be alive, despite Danielson's victory last week which earned him an Intercontinental Championship match, which we learned will be at No Mercy. The newest tag team on SmackDown, Darren Young and Percy Watson, once again got the better of Hawkins and Archer as Watson finished this match by hitting a float over DDT on Hawkins to get the win for his team.
The four faces celebrated in the ring, dancing to the South Beach Boys' theme song. Danielson didn't seem to care for his team's loss at all as he walked to the back without caring. He may feel that he has no business being in this match as he has an Intercontinental Title match with whomever the champion may be at No Mercy.
Vince McMahon is shown accompanying Michael McGillicuty to the ring. The winner of NXT season 2 makes his SmackDown debut next.
Commercial Break
A preview for Night Of Champions is shown
Michael McGillicuty def. Matt Hardy (6:10)
McGillicuty was very impressive here. With Vince McMahon in his corner, his confidence level was through the roof. Hardy didn't let the fact that the chairman of the board was at ringside cheering his opponent on get to him. Hardy fought as if this was the most important match of his career. In the end, McGillicuty was able to drop Hardy with the Perfect Plex to take home his first win on SmackDown.
After the match, Vince told the WWE Universe to shut up and pay attention. He told them that they are looking at the future of the WWE. Vince said that McGillicuty is going to be bigger than The Rock, Shawn Michaels, and Stone Cold Steve Austin all combined. McGillicuty said that he' not going to be like his father, he's going to be better. He will be the men who sells tickets and makes the WWE a ton of money. He is a future World Champion, a future Hall Of Famer, and the future of the WWE.
Christian is shown making his way to the ring. His match with Cody Rhodes is next and it is our main event.
Commercial Break
A preview is shown for this Monday's episode of Raw. It promotes a press conference with the WWE Champion The Miz, discussing his title defense at Night Of Champions, his plans as champion, and what he plans to do about Chris Jericho.
Christian vs. Cody Rhodes ended in a No Contest (16:08)
A great main event here. These two men really put on a match that is worth talking about. And the fact that it was given 16 minutes made it a whole lot better. A ton of back and forth action here. Both men needed a win here and could not afford a loss with Night Of Champions right around the corner. In the end, Rhodes charged at Christian, who was groggy in the corner. Christian moved out of the way and gave Rhodes a swift kick in the head. Christian now went to the top rope and was planning to come down on Rhodes with a flying forearm. However, Rhodes moved out of the way and Christian connected with the referee. Suddenly, CM Punk came down to the ring and attacked Christian.
Punk continued his assault on Christian as Rhodes joined in. Eventually, Rey Mysterio came to make the save. Rey and Christian were actually able to take care of Rhodes and Punk. That all changed once the Corporate Society got involved. It was now an 8 on 2 situation. Suddenly, the lights went out and a loud gong was heard. The crowd immediately popped since they knew what that meant. When the lights came back on, Kane and The Undertaker were standing in the middle of the ring. The two of them were able to hold their own against all member of the Corporate Society. After Mysterio was back on his feet, he connected a 619 onto Rhodes. Christian soon got back up and dropped Punk with The Killswitch. Kane and The Undertaker took care of the rest. Vince McMahon was able to run out of harm's way and enter his limo in the parking lot. Kane, Undertaker, Mysterio, and Christian all stood tall to end this edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

-Good promo to kick off SmackDown. Interesting to see hype for No Mercy when we're at Night of Champions....I like. Kane and Undertaker in the Gauntlet sounds pretty good. -Del Rio is being built up well at the moment. Should be nice to see where he goes. -Wow. Rhodes is really turning into a hated superstar. Loving the push and can't wait to see Kofi's revenge when he returns. -CM Punk winning was expected since his feud over the biggest title is more important than Mysterio's feud for the second biggest title on SD. -Nice to get everyone on the card and the faces winning was pretty good too. -McGillicutty over Hardy was a good match for his debut. I won't like to see a Hardy push but still good for McGillicutty. -Great main event to end SmackDown. Post-match was pretty good too. Kane, Christian, Taker, and Mysterio standing tall was solid to end SmackDown. -Great SmackDown; can't wait for NOC and No Mercy. Looking forward to what's to come here now.

A video package is shown highlighting some of the greatest champions in the WWE's history (The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, etc.). The video then shows The Miz winning the WWE Championship on Raw 900 and the five challengers that stand in his way tonight. The video then shows the events that have been taking place the past few weeks with Christian and CM Punk, the two men who will battle tonight for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship. Finally, "Shine" plays as the entire card is ran down. The pyrotechnics display goes off as Jim Ross, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and Michael Cole welcome us to Night Of Champions. They quickly run down the card for tonight's show, telling us that we will be a part of history tonight. The stage is shown with banners of every championship that will be on the line tonight. A light shines on the Intercontinental Title, signalling that the opening contest will be for that championship. Intercontinental Championship Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio (c)
The defending champion made his way to the ring first to an outstanding ovation here in the Allstate Arena. The challenger made his way out next with his Money In The Bank briefcase. Rhodes was given a ton of heat. He has really evolved and become one of the top heels in the WWE today. The match was outstanding and without a doubt the best possible way to open the show. Rey had the momentum in the beginning by coming at Rhodes with a ton of aerial moves. Rhodes soon got that momentum by countering a hurricarana into a Powerbomb. Rhodes went for a cover, but Rey managed to kick out. Rhodes then hit a dropping knee onto the champion. Rhodes went for another cover, but the results were the same. Rhodes, now furious, irish whipped Rey chest first into the the turnbuckle. The impact caused Rey to jump back and onto the mat. Rhodes picked Rey up to his feet and stood him up for a bit. Rhodes had some words for Rey, who was able to roll him up into a small package. Rhodes was able to kick and immediately went after Rey after he kicked out. Rhodes placed Rey on the top turnbuckle and was going for a superplex, but Rey was able to kick him off. Rey did the Eddie Guerrero shoulder shake and came down with a Frog Splash. Rhodes moved out of the way. While Rey was on the mat in pain, Rhodes went to the top rope himself and came down with a Moonsault. Rey was able to kick out of the pinning predicament. Rhodes took the match one step further toward the end. He went to the outside and grabbed his Money In The Bank briefcase. He went back in the ring and was getting ready to strike Mysterio with it. The referee attempted to take the briefcase, but Rhodes was able to hold onto it. He then swung it at Rey's head. However, Rey was able to trip Rhodes, causing him to fall into the ropes and in position for the 619. The briefcase fell to the outside. Rey went for the 619, but Rhodes dodge it and rolled out of the ring. Rey stuck his head out of the ring, which turned out to be a mistake as Rhodes leveled him in the head with the briefcase. The referee called for the bell, disqualifying Rhodes.
Winner via DQ: Still Intercontinental Champion, Rey Mysterio (16:37)
Rhodes went back inside the ring and stood over Rey. He looked at his Money In The Bank briefcase for quite a while before leaving the ring. Nonetheless, Rey Mysterio is still the Intercontinental Champion. Josh Mathews is now standing by with the #1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships, Sheamus and Wade Barrett. Mathews asked them if they feel that their singles victories over The Hart Dynasty the past few weeks on Raw will help them tonight. Barrett said that a few singles victories won't make a difference. They are walking out of Night Of Champions as the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Diva's Championship Maryse (c) vs. Melina
The challenger came down to the ring first to a nice ovation from the WWE Universe. Maryse came down next to mostly boos. The match itself was pretty dull and something you'd probably see on Raw. Maryse spent most of the match trying to get a pinfall victory over Melina. Melina on the other hand spent most of the match actually wrestling and wearing Maryse down. Melina went to the top rope and came down with a hammering fist on Maryse. Melina then hit a standing moonsault. She got the cover on Maryse, but only managed to get a two count. Melina waited for Maryse to get to her feet so she could hit the Sunset Split. Maryse was able to push Melina from her. When Melina turned around, Maryse hit her with a swift kick to her head. Maryse got the cover on Melina, but Melina somehow managed to kick out at two. Maryse could not believe it. She then picked Melina up from the mat and went for The French Kiss. Melina was able to get out of it. Melina then kicked Maryse in the gut and planted her with the French Kiss, her own finishing maneuver. Melina got the cover to get the win.
Winner: NEW Diva's Champion, Melina (6:16)
Melina celebrated her victory and was handed the Diva's Championship. She has finally reclaimed the title that she was forced to relinquish due to injury. She continued her celebration as Maryse soon realized that her worst nightmare came true. The WWE Champion, The Miz was shown in his locker room. He said that tonight, he faces five of the best competitors in the WWE today. He says that he has an ace in the hole for tonight. A secret weapon to him retaining the championship. WWE Tag Team Championships The Hart Dynasty (c) vs. Sheamus and Wade Barrett
The challengers were out first to a chorus of boos from the Allstate Arena. The champions came out next to a nice reaction. Natalya was not at ringside with them tonight as the slightest mistake of hers could cost them the championships as the titles will change hands on a disqualification. The match was a great tag team contest. The aerial tactics of Tyson Kidd, the power of DH Smith, and the brutality of Sheamus and Wade Barrett. All of these styles blended together very nicely in this match. Tags were often made here. The turning point of the match came when Tyson springboarded off of the top rope and attempted to come down on Sheamus with a hammering fist. However, Sheamus was able to hit a Pump Kick on Kidd in mid air. The match most likely would've been over here, but the referee stopped the match for a few seconds to check on Kidd. He did not look to be in good condition. He was forced to cool off in the corner and tag in DH Smith. Due to Tyson's condition, Smith had to go the rest of this match alone. It was certainly not an easy task to overcome two behemoths such as Sheamus and Wade Barrett. Smith refused to tag Kidd in as he did not want him to risk his chances of getting more injured than he already was. Smith was soon completely worn out and had almost nothing left in the tank. Sheamus hit Smith with a huge Pump Kick , followed by The Wasteland from Wade Barrett. Barrett got the cover on Smith to get the win and the championships.
Winners: NEW WWE Tag Team Champions, Sheamus and Wade Barrett (13:57)
Sheamus and Barrett were handed the titles as they began their celebration. Wade Barrett definitely achieved more from this win as this was his first championship in the WWE. Soon, Barrett went to the outside and hit a big boot on the already injured Tyson Kidd. The two behemoths made their way to the backstage area with the titles in their hands as more help came out to check on Kidd. A video package is shown. It begins with Teddy Long stripping Jack Swagger of the World Heavyweight Championship. It then shows the 6 tournament matches that have already taken place. Christian and CM Punk made it to the finals, which sets up tonight's World Championship match. Finals of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Christian vs. CM Punk
CM Punk came down to the ring first to a rather good ovation from the crowd here in his home state of Illinois. Christian came down next to a great ovation. Tony Chimel introduced both of them before the bell rang. The announcers and the audience could feel the tension here. Christian has never won a World Championship here in the WWE, but that can all change tonight. This was definitely the match of the night. So much great action here. The momentum was traded back and forth many times. The crowd was hot for this match as well. Many 'Lets go Christian' and 'Lets go Punk' chants traded back and forth between the audience members. Christian got the first pin attempt of the match by surprising Punk with a sunset flip. Punk was able to kick out though. Christian charged at Punk, but was hit with a hard kick to the back of his head. Punk got the cover, but only two. Punk went to the top turnbuckle and had hopes of coming down on Christian with an elbow drop. Christian got back to his feet and climbed up on the turnbuckle with Punk. Christian brought Punk off the turnbuckle by dropping him with a Superplex. Christian now started clapping and soon, the crowd was clapping along with him. After Punk got back up to his feet, Christian tried to lock Punk in position for the Killswitch. Christian had Punk where he wanted him for about one second. Punk was able to push Christian away from him. Christian turned around and found himself on Punk's shoulders, ready to be put to sleep. When Punk threw Christian into the air, Christian reversed it into a DDT. Christian went for the cover, but Punk was able to kick out. Christian then went to the top turnbuckle and came down with a flying forearm on the Straight Edge Superstar. It took a while for both men to get back on their feet as Christian had the wind knocked out of him. After they were on their feet, Punk went for a Yakuza Kick, but missed. While Punk's back was turned to Christian, Captain Charisma locked Punk in position for the Killswitch and was able to plant him with it. The crowd was on their feet screaming for Christian to get the cover. Everybody could feel that this was Christian's moment. They knew that as soon as he got the cover, the title was his. That wasn't the case however. Christian did get the cover, but Punk able to kick out about a millisecond before three. Christian, the announcers, and the audience were in shock. They could all feel Christian's moment coming. Christian waited for Punk to get back to his feet. After Punk did so, Christian dropped him with an inverted DDT. He got the hook of the leg, but Punk once again kicked out. Christian then slowly picked Punk up off of the mat. Punk showed here that he was playing possum as he instantly brought Christian up onto his shoulders and instantly connected the GTS onto him. It took a while for Punk to get the cover, but he did. However, Christian managed to kick out. The crowd went crazy. Punk could not believe that Christian was able to kick out of the GTS. Punk now had to go even further down his bag of tricks to get the win here. He locked Christian in the Anaconda Vice. Christian contemplated submission, but he was able to fight his way to the ropes. After the hold was broken up, Punk brought Christian to his feet. Punk had him in position for the pre vice drop, but Christian was able to take Punk down to the ground. It looked like Christian was going for an Armbar, but instead locked in a Crossface. Punk looked as if he was on the verge of tapping, and the crowd looked as if they were on the verge of exploding. Punk was able to reach the ropes. Christian let go of Punk and was soon behind him, waiting for an opportunity to hit the Killswitch. Christian had Punk 's arms, but Punk was able to hit a low blow on Christian. Punk made sure that the ref was not paying attention as he told the ref to "look over there." Punk then brought Christian up to his shoulders for the final time and dropped his face onto his knee. Punk got the cover on Christian to get the win and the championship.
Winner: NEW World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk (20:02)
Punk was given the championship as he cried tears of joy. The announcers said that while Punk may be walking out of here tonight as the champion, nobody can deny that Christian gave this match his all and damn well should be the champion. Punk ignored all of the boos that were directed towards him and celebrated. While Punk was celebrating, the theme of Cody Rhodes hit as Mr. Money In The Bank came down to the ring with a referee. Punk was pleading with Rhodes, telling him that he is making the biggest mistake of his life. Rhodes stood on the stage with his briefcase and looked at it as if he was asking himself if he really wanted to do this. He seemed to have said yes as he continued to make his way down to the ring. The crowd didn't know whether to cheer or to boo. Rhodes got in the ring and handed his briefcase to the referee, who handed it to Tony Chimel. Punk seemed to be in major disbelief. Chimel was about to announce to the whole world that Cody Rhodes is chasing in his Money In The Bank contract. However, Rhodes cut him off. He took his briefcase and walked to the back. Punk seemed to be relieved. Ted DiBiase is shown in his locker room watching the TV screen while holding his Money In The Bank briefcase. Ezekiel Jackson soon walked in. DiBiase told Jackson that tonight is their night. He will become the WWE Champion, Jackson will retain the Million Dollar Championship, and tomorrow night on Raw, Jackson will be rewarded with the Money In The Bank briefcase. Jackson took the Million Dollar Championship and headed to the ring. Million Dollar Championship Ezekiel Jackson (c) vs. Chris Jericho
Jackson made his way out to the ring first to a rather bad reaction. It's a shame that he's not over yet with the crowd as he has a bright future ahead of him. Chris Jericho was out next to one of the better reactions of the night. When the bell rang, Jericho charged at Jackson. The referee had to pull Jericho and Jackson apart. The match was soon under control. It was actually a pretty solid contest. The crowd was still cooling down from the awesome World Title match though. Jackson hit a couple of power moves in the opening minutes of this match. Jericho didn't seem to have the momentum until he hit Ezekiel with and Enziguri. Jericho followed this up with the Lionsault. He got the cover, but only a two count. Jackson soon got back in the math after hitting a devastating clothesline on Y2J. Jericho was able to hit a crossbody later on and get his momentum back. Jericho charged at Jackson, but the Million Dollar Powerhouse was able to catch Jericho and drop him with a powerslam. Jackson got the cover, but only garnered a two count. Jackson then pulled Jericho up to his feet. However, Jericho was able to bring Jackson down to the mat and lock the Walls Of Jericho on him. Jackson was able to reach the ropes a lot easier than most others due to his strength. While Jackson was getting to his feet, Jericho was able to quickly hit him with the Codebreaker. Jericho got the cover on Jackson to get the win.
Winner: NEW Million Dollar Champion, Chris Jericho (8:49)
Jericho was given the title and did the exact opposite of celebrating. He threw the title onto the mat and began to stomp on it. Ted DiBiase was shown in his locker room looking on in horror. He could however not do anything about it as he has a championship match of his own later on. Jericho showed the camera what the title belt looks like now and said that the title is going to have a very rough night.A preview for the WWE's next pay per view, No Mercy is shown. Matt Striker is shown in the backstage area. He says that he has missed the WWE and the WWE Universe, but he's finally back. Even though NXT is gone, WWE action on Tuesday nights is far from over. He says that he will explain himself tomorrow night on Raw. Women's Championship Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Serena
Serena was out first with Luke Gallows accompanying her. She got a reaction of mostly boos. Kelly Kelly was out next and the defending champion got a very nice pop. She said that she figured Serena would have Gallows by her side tonight, so she has a friend that will make sure that Gallows stays in place. Chris Masters comes out and accompanies Kelly to the ring. The match itself wasn't too bad. Much better than the Maryse/Melina match from earlier on in the evening. Kelly is certainly improving in the ring and Serena is a great womens competitor. Chris Masters did his job and made sure that Gallows did not get involved. Serena irish whipped Kelly into the corner and charged at her. Kelly was able to get a leg up and fend Serena off. Kelly went to the top ropes and came down with a crossbody, but Serena was able to roll out off the pin attempt. Kelly charged at Serena, but the anti diva was able to catch Kelly. Serena then hoisted Kelly to her shoulders and dropped her with what looked to be a GutBuster variation of the Go To Sleep. Serena got the cover to get the win and the championship.
Winner: NEW Women's Champion, Serena (7:13)
Serena was given the Women's Championship and she celebrated in the ring. Gallows and Joey Mercury soon joined her and lifted her on their shoulders. Kelly was applauded for her performance, but the title is going home with Serena and the Straight Edge Society. Vince McMahon was shown in his office with Jack Swagger, Michael McGillicuty, The Dudebusters, and the new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. Everybody is congratulating Punk on his victory, and they plan to do the same when Serena walks in. Justin Gabriel soon walks in and asks if Vince wanted to see him. Vince said that he has been watching Justin over the past few weeks on SmackDown and he sees a ton of potential in him. Vince says that Gabriel's career is definitely going to skyrocket to the top, but it will skyrocket a lot faster if he was a member of the Corporate Society. Gabriel declines Vince's offer, saying that he would much prefer to work for something rather than just being given it. Vince and the rest of the corporate society give Gabriel a cold stare, as if they are getting ready to attack him. However, the lights go out. When the lights come back on, the TV in the office is on fire. Vince orders Barreta to get a fire extinguisher. The minds game between them and the Brothers Of Destruction have begun on the path to No Mercy. United States Championship Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Evan Bourne
Evan came to the ring first to a great ovation from the WWE Universe. McIntyre came out next to a chorus of boos. The match itself was pretty good. A lot of back and forth action. Bourne's aerial moveset was certainly what got the crowd into this. After the bell rang, Drew kicked Bourne in the mid section and began pounding and stomping on him. The momentum stayed with Drew until Bourne hit him in the leg with a few kicks. Bourne followed this up with a high knee to the jaw of McIntyre. Drew went to the outside to get a rest. Bourne didn't want to wait for Drew, so he springboarded off of the top rope and came down on McIntyre. Bourne got back inside the ring. Drew was nearly counted out, but was able to make it back in. Bourne then hit most of his moves on McIntyre. Bourne hit a standing moonsault on Drew and went for the cover, but McIntyre was able to kick out. Bourne got to his feet and quickly charged at Drew, but he was hit with a big boot. Drew went for the Future Shock, but Bourne was able to squirm his way out of it. Bourne then kicked Drew in his leg, bringing him down on one knee. He followed this up with a superkick. Bourne saw an opportunity to hit Airbourne. He went to the top turnbuckle, but Drew launched himself at the ropes, causing Evan to lose his balance and fall. Drew picked him up and planted him with a Future Shock. Drew got the cover, but Bourne was able to place his foot on the bottom rope. drew was now furious. He picked up Bourne once again, but Bourne tripped Drew and caused him to fall head first onto the second turnbuckle. Bourne than went to the opposite corner and charged at McIntyre, hitting a dropkick onto the back of his head. Drew was now out cold on the mat. Bourne went to the top turnbuckle once again. This time, he perfectly hit Airbourne to get the win and become the new United States Champion.
Winner: NEW United States Champion, Evan Bourne (10:32)
Bourne was given the title and celebrated with the WWE Universe. He went into the audience and held the title high in the air. A promo for SmackDown's return to Thursday nights is shown for September 30th on SyFy. A video package is shown highlighting The Miz's WWE Championship reign so far. It then shows some highlights of the main feud involved in the next match - John Morrison and R Truth. It then shows the other three participants - John Cena, Randy Orton, and Ted DiBiase. It finishes with the press conference that The Miz held this past Monday on Raw. Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship The Miz (c) vs. John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. John Morrison vs. R Truth
John Cena was out first to a great ovation. Next out was Ted DiBiase, who seemed very concerned about what Chris Jericho might do to the Million Dollar Championship. Next out was John Morrison, who got a nice pop. R Truth came down next to some good heat. Randy Orton came out next to the biggest pop of the night. Finally, The Miz was out to a great amount of heat. The bell rang and John Morrison and R Truth started things off. This was the first time that the two have been able to get their hands on each other. The two of them had a fine contest. Truth soon tagged in DiBiase. Morrison and DiBiase haven't had a one on one match since July, but they still have great chemistry in the ring. Morrison hit Moonlight Drive on Ted and arguably had the win, but Truth broke the pin attempt up. While Morrison was trying to get his hands on Truth, The Miz tagged himself in. Miz went for a cover on Ted, but it was only two. Miz and DiBiase had a solid showing, but the crowd didn't seem to care for heel v heel. John Cena soon came in and went right after The Miz. Cena overpowered Miz until Randy Orton was tagged in. Now the crowd came alive. Orton took the first shot, then the two traded blows. The crowd seemed split here, but Orton seemed to have the more fans on his side. Orton went for and RKO, but Cena pushed him away. Cena then hoisted Orton to his shoulders and went for an Attitude Adjustment, but Truth tagged himself in. Truth attempted to hit the Axe Kick on Orton, but the Viper moved out of the way and struck with an RKO. Orton had the match won here, but The Miz broke everything up. Orton was no furious and threw Miz into the ring. DiBiase then came in got into a brawl with Orton. Cena pulled DiBiase over the top rope, allowing Orton and Truth to continue on with the match. Truth tagged in Miz, while Orton tagged in Morrison. Truth and Morrison once again went right after each other. It was pretty clear that these two want to fight instead of wrestle. Truth hit the Axe Kick on Morrison, but didn't go for a cover. He instead just continued to stomp away on Morrison. Orton then came in and dropped Truth with and RKO. Morrison suffered the same fate as well. This prompted DiBiase to come in and lock the Million Dollar Dream on Orton. Cena then got in the ring lifted both Orton and DiBiase onto his shoulders. Miz then tagged himself in. He went for the cover on Morrison, but Cena noticed this and broke it up. Orton and DiBiase now got back into their corners. Miz and Morrison had a very solid battle for the next few minutes. Miz tagged in Cena. Morrison and Cena put on an incredible showing. It definitely made you want to see more of these two. Miz tagged himself in and went right after Cena. Morrison found himself in Truth's corner and a brawl ensued between the two. DiBiase now tried to tag himself in, but Orton came into the ring and RKO'ed DiBiase. Miz then threw Cena, who hit Orton with a running shoulder block. Miz then charged at Cena, but instead clotheslined the referee. Cena hoisted Miz to his shoulders and was going for the Attitude Adjustment, but Batista hit the ring and speared Cena. Batista, who has not been seen since Money In The Bank, has just basically screwed Cena out of the WWE Title. Batista then revived the referee as Miz got the cover on Cena. The referee soon regain consciousness and made the three count.
Winner: Still WWE Champion, The Miz (24:51)
Batista left to the backstage area as The Miz celebrated his win. He took a microphone and said that he just beat five other men to retain his WWE Championship. Nobody can deny it any more. Miz was about to say his catchphrase, but was cut off by an RKO from Randy Orton. Orton took the WWE Title belt and held it high in the air. He then noticed that Miz was slowly getting to his feet. Orton positioned himself in a corner and was getting ready to do what he has done to many people. He hit Miz with a punt. The crowd went nuts as Miz was layed out. Orton posed in the ring for the fans as Night Of Champions came to a close.

-I am pumped up for this. Can't wait to see it. Mysterio and Rhodes fought in a classic. Mysterio winning via DQ was interesting. -Melina winning the Divas Championship is good. -Sheamus and Barrett winning the gold was expected since their recent run as champions. -CM Punk over Christian was really great! I really thought it was Christian's time to shine. Guess I was wrong. Looks like he'll be on that run to get it like Jeff Hardy. -Typo in the MITB almost cash-in. Don't know who cut him off but still a close one. -Jericho winning the Million Dollar Championship was expected considering he's more expirienced. -Serena winning the gold is great for SES now. They seem to be riding high as of late. -Bourne over McIntyre is good. Great to see him pick up the United States Championship now. -The Miz retaining was the biggest shocker of them all. Good call to build his reign. -Great PPV; wonder where we go now...

Nice poster its something different, Cody/Rey is a great way to start off and giving them enough time is a great idea, a DQ hopefully means there will be a rematch and if there is I hope Cody takes home the belt, Barrett and Sheamus is an odd couple, meh womens match but at least theres a storyline in there with Melina winning not just a random divas feud, whoa Sheamus and Barrett won its an odd choice and I'm unsure whether I like it, I'll have to read back to fully understand this union, loving the tournment finals it makes perfect sense having those two and I love that you didn't put the title on Christian, By putting the title on Punk you can now build up Christian perfectly to take the belt if you so wish, love the match times as well 20 mins would have been perfect for them to showcase a great match, meh at the Million Dollar match it just doesn't seem PPV-ish to me maybe I need to read back to understand, may have prefered the womens matches to swap over, Serena/Kelly would have served much better earlier on, loving the Corporate Society its a bit random with all the members and teams but its good, the fued with the BoD sounds good, happy to see Bourne go over in such a high ranked match, nice main event its pulled down by me for the inclusion of R-Truth, really happy that you kept the title on miz and hope he has a long reign, great ppv. Not a big fan of the No Mercy poster Randy's head is too small, good luck and keep this up.

- WWE.com announced earlier today that with SmackDown moving to Thursday nights, Superstars will now air on Wednesdays on WGN America. - WWE.com also announced earlier that Abraham Washington and Teddy Long made a trade following Night Of Champions. Dolph Ziggler is now a member of the Raw roster, and Yoshi Tatsu is now a member of the Smackdown roster. - With only a two week gap between Night Of Champions and No Mercy, expect things to move fast within that gap. - *VERY IMPORTANT* We have been reporting for a few months now that a TNA superstar has been unhappy with the way that the organization has been as of late and showed no interest in staying. We can now confirm that that individual has departed from TNA. Meetings between that individual and WWE are reported to be taking place this week behind closed doors.. If he does decide to sign with the WWE, he could start on TV as soon as No Mercy.

Monday Night Raw | September 20, 2010 | Indianapolis, Ind. "Walk Alone No Longer
A video is shown recapping the Raw side of things from Night Of Champions. This includes Evan Bourne winning the United States Championship, Melina winning the Diva's Championship, Sheamus and Wade Barrett winning the WWE Tag Team Championships, Chris Jericho winning the Million Dollar Championship, and The Miz retaining the WWE Championship. It then focuses on the two shocking events that happened during and after the WWE Title match. The first being Batista returning and costing John Cena the WWE Championship. The second being Randy Orton punting The Miz's head off following the match. After the video package is finished, "I Walk Alone" hits as Batista comes to the ring for the first since Money In The Bank. After he gets in the ring, he says that The Miz will not be here tonight. The crowd seems to like that. Batista says that Miz will not be here because Randy Orton is a sore loser. He then addresses his attack on John Cena last night. Batista says that Cena cost him two months of action. The second that he was cleared to return, he knew what he was going to do. And that was to screw John Cena out of the WWE Championship. And lastly, he is not Miz's protection. He is simply doing a few favors for The Miz in exchange for a title shot. Soon, Abraham Washington comes out to the stage. First, he welcomes Batista back to Monday Night Raw. Second, he has an announcement to make regarding the main event of No Mercy. It will be the WWE champion The Miz teaming up with Batista to take on John Cena and Randy Orton. However, there are two stipulations. Whoever scores the winning pinfall will be awarded the WWE Championship. But, whoever gets pinned must leave Raw. Washington then says that tonight's main event will be Batista vs. Randy Orton. Batista says that he doesn't want Orton, he wants Cena. Washington says that Batista will have to wait until No Mercy to get in the ring with Cena. Commercial BreakJim Ross and Jerry Lawler officially welcome everybody to Monday Night Raw and then recap Abraham Washington's huge announcement just before the commercial break. United States Champion Evan Bourne and John Morrison def. Drew McIntyre and R Truth
A great way to kick off Monday Night Raw. Bourne seemed to riding on a wave of momentum after winning the Unites States Championship last night at Night Of Champions. It was announced before the match began that these four will compete in a Fatal Four Way match for the United States Title at No Mercy. In the end, Bourne was able to hit Airbourne on Truth to get the win for his team. |

Morrison and Bourne celebrated their win following the match. McIntyre looked on as Bourne held the United States Championship high in the air. The Hart Dynasty is shown in their locker room. Natalya and DH Smith seem to be worried about Tyson Kidd competing tonight after suffering a concussion last night. Kidd says that Sheamus and Wade Barrett have their titles, so their going to get them back and he's competing. A graphic is shown for tonight's main event. Batista vs. Randy Orton. Commercial BreakDolph Ziggler was shown in the ring after the commercial break was finished. He said that if anybody didn't know, he is now the newest member of the Raw roster. On his first night on Raw two years ago, he called out Batista. So for his return, he is calling out Triple H. After a few seconds of silence, The Game came down to the ring. Dolph Ziggler def. Triple H via countout
A solid match here. The crowd was really behind Triple H. A win here was needed for him as he needs to gain the momentum for his match with Booker T at No Mercy. Ziggler was very impressive here, holding his own against Hunter. In the end, Triple H was climbing onto the ring apron when Ziggler delivered a drop kick to him, causing him to fall down onto the outside. Ziggler told the referee that his ankle was hurting, which caused the referee to take his eye of off Triple H for a bit. During that time, Booker T came running down with a sledgehammer in his hands. Booker nailed Hunter in the head with the hammer and then quickly ran to the back. The referee then began the 10 count. Triple H was barely back on his feet at 9, but it was too late. He had been counted out. |

Ziggler was ecstatic as he celebrated his win. Triple was furious on the other hand, screaming for Booker to get back out. Ted DiBiase is shown making his way to the ring. Commercial BreakAfter the commercial break, Ted DiBiase made his way down to the ring with a bag in one hand and his Money In The Bank briefcase in the other. He said that last night, Chris Jericho defeated Ezekiel Jackson to win the Million Dollar Championship. He got the belt back this morning after a backstage worker found it in the trash. He pulled the Million Dollar Championship out of the bag. He showed it to the camera, revealing that it had foot prints, stains, and the silver plates were terribly chipped. DiBiase said that this shows that Jericho has no respect for him, for his family, or for anything. Soon, Jericho came down to the stage in more casual clothing than usual. Jericho mocked DiBiase, pretending to cry while saying things like "Nobody likes my belt" and "Chris Jericho hates my family". DiBiase said that Jericho is a sorry excuse for a human being. Jericho said that DiBiase needs to shut the hell up. Jericho said that he didn't come out here to talk about how bad DiBiase looks in a suit or how bad Ezekiel Jackson looks in a suit. He came out here to inform DiBiase that they have a match at No Mercy. DiBiase said that that's great, because he can now destroy him. Jericho said that he wasn't finished. They will face each other at No Mercy, but not in a regular match. Instead, DiBiase's Money In The Bank briefcase will be back to where it was before he obtained - 15 ft. above the ring. Because it will be a ladder match for the briefcase. DiBiase was livid. John Cena was shown making his way to the ring. He has a match with Booker T next. Commercial BreakBooker T def. John Cena via disqualification
A solid first hour main event here. These two have gone at it before, but that was when Cena was working his way up to the top. Now, both of them are two of the biggest names in wrestling today. Cena seemed to be constantly looking over his shoulder to see if Batista was anywhere around. In the end, Cena had Booker on his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment. Booker was able to slide off of his shoulders and drop Cena with the Book End. Booker was going to get the cover on Cena, but Triple H came running down to the ring and attacked Booker. The referee called for the bell. |

Triple H and Booker took their brawl into the crowd. They were soon in the backstage area though. While Cena was getting to his feet, Batista hit the ring and dropped Cena with the Batista Bomb. Commercial BreakWWE Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Wade Barrett def. The Hart Dynasty to retain
A good match here. The Hart Dynasty decided to use their rematch clause here tonight, despite Tyson Kidd's injuries. Sheamus and Barrett seemed even more arrogant with the titles around their wastes. In the end, Tyson Kidd was yelling at Smith to tag him in. Smith didn't really want to because of his worries for Kidd, but decided to. As soon as Kidd came in, he was hit with a big boot from Barrett. Sheamus knocked Smith off of the ring apron as Barrett covered Kidd to get the win. |

Following the match, Smith and Natalya checked on Kidd, who was unresponsive. Help soon came down for him as Barrett and Sheamus celebrated their win while not giving a damn about the severity of Kidd's injuries. Commercial BreakDiva's Champion Melina def. Alicia Fox
A decent divas match here. The point here was to get Melina over as the new divas champion. And it certainly did as the crowd was really into her. In the end, Melina was able to hit the Sunset Split on Fox to get the win. |

Following the match, Maryse came down to the ring. She stood on the ring apron and taunted Melina. Out of nowhere, SmackDown's Team LayCool hit the ring and attacked Melina. All three heels hit their finishers on Melina and taunted her. Batista was shown making his way to the ring. His match with Randy Orton is next and it's our main event. Commercial BreakA preview is shown for this Friday's edition of SmackDown. It will be the final edition of SmackDown on Fridays, and it will also be a live show. Something big is bound to happen here. Randy Orton def. Batista
A solid main event here. Both men really wanted to gain the momentum for the huge tag team match at No Mercy. Strangely enough, there was no sign of John Cena or The Miz for the entire match. In the end, Orton planted Batista with an RKO to get the win. |

After the match Orton posed in the ring for the fans. Soon, he noticed that Batista was slowly getting back to his feet. Orton planned to punt Batista's head off. However, The Miz came running into the ring from the crowd and attacked Orton. Batista soon got back on his feet and joined Miz. John Cena soon made the save. As soon as he hit the ring, Batista and Miz dodged out of the ring. Orton was telling Batista and Miz to get back in the ring. When Orton turned around, Cena hoisted him to his shoulders for an Attitude Adjustment. However, Cena put Orton back on the mat. Cena showed Orton that if he has to take him out at No Mercy to become champion, he will. Orton and Cena stared at each other while Miz and Batista looked on at them. Raw then went off the air.

- Good opening promo, that's a good idea for a championship match. Wonder how that will go. - Bourne and Morrison over McIntyre and R-Truth is good. I hope Bourne retains the strap. - Ziggler calling out Triple H is odd, but him winning by count out is good. I guess this is leading to a push. - Jericho vs DiBiase for the MITB briefcase should be good. - Not sure about seeing Triple H again, which makes it quite odd that Ziggler called him out for no reason. - Sheamus and Barrett as a team is quite odd, but in a good way. Glad they won. - Insert Diva Comments here. - Short write up of Orton/Batista. Glad Orton won. - Stare down to end the show is good. - Overall good RAW, some calls weren't as good as the others though.

Friday Night SmackDown | September 24, 2010 | Bloomington, Il "Dashing Opportunity" *Episode title contains a spoiler. Highlight at own risk*
After the pyrotechnics display goes off, Michael Cole and Todd Grisham welcome us to Friday Night SmackDown live. They ref inform us that this is the final episode of Friday Night SmackDown because starting next week, SmackDown will be live every Thursday on SyFy. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio comes to the ring at this time. He says that at Night Of Champions, he had a great match with Cody Rhodes. A great match that was tainted due to Rhodes' frustrations. Rey says that he wants Rhodes to come out here now because he wants a rematch. He says that he'll even put the Intercontinental Title on the line. After a few seconds of silence, the new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk comes down to the ring. He says that Rey doesn't deserve the spotlight right now, he does. The reason for that is because he is the new World Heavyweight Champion. Rey says that Punk is the champion, but he had to cheat to beat Christian, a guy who deserves to be World Champion more than anybody else on the roster. Punk says that he doesn't care what Christian deserves, he wants Rey to get out of his ring. Rey says that he's not going anywhere until Cody Rhodes comes out. Punk says that he's not going to get Rhodes, just an ass kicking if he doesn't get out. General Manager Teddy Long then comes out to the stage. He says that with SmackDown's move to Thursdays next week, he feels that we should have one great champion lead the way on SyFy. Therefore, tonight's main event will a very historical. It will be World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio - Title for Title. Punk is livid, saying that he shouldn't have to defend the title that he just won. Commercial Break Singles Match Bryan Danielson def. MVP
A solid opening contest for the final edition of Friday Night SmackDown!. Danielson seemed to have the momentum here, knowing that he has an Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy, no matter who the champion may be. MVP also put on a good showing with the crowd really behind him. In the end, Danielson locked MVP in his variation of the crossface. The result of this was MVP submitting. |

Following the match, Shad Gaspard came down to the ring. He was waiting for MVP to get to his feet so he could kick his head off with a Big Boot. MVP was able to duck it however. Shad quickly escaped the ring. MVP then took a mic and said that he has some news for Shad. They are finally going to settle their differences next week on SmackDown's return to Thursday nights. And it will be in a Street Fight. A graphic is shown for tonight's huge main event. Commercial Break Tag Team Match Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer def. Percy Watson and Darren Young
A very solid tag team contest here. These two teams have had problems with each other ever since Watson and Young made their debut on SmackDown a number of weeks ago. Tonight was finally The Gatecrashers' night as Hawkins planted an Elbow Drop on Darren Young to get the win for him and Archer . |
Vince McMahon was shown in his office with the Corporate Society. He said that up next, Michael McGillicuty has a match with The Undertaker. Since everybody is doubting McGillicuty, he doesn't want anybody in the Corporate Society to get involved. McGillicuty says that he agrees. He needs to prove to all of the idiots that make up the WWE Universe that he doesn't need them to score a huge win. It's simply in his blood. McGillicuty then leaves to the ring. Commercial Break Singles Match Michael McGillicuty def. The Undertaker via DQ
A good first hour main event here. This was really McGillicuty's time to shine here on SmackDown. He showed that he can hang with the top dogs. That didn't stop Taker though. He gave his usual 110% performance here, coming at McGillicuty with nearly all of his signature moves. The finish to the match was a bit odd however. The referee was knocked out after a 'accidental' clothesline from McGillicuty. The match continued for a bit though. McGillicuty soon hit a low blow on Taker. With Taker down, Vince McMahon came down to the ring with a steel chair in his hands. McGillicuty played dead while McMahon screamed at him. When the referee was back up, he assumed that McMahon layed out McGillicuty with the chair. He called for the bell. |
Following the match, McGillicuty and McMahon quickly left to the back. Undertaker was furious at them and the referee, who was trying to tell Taker that he was just going by what he saw. Taker then chokeslammed the referee. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is shown in his locker room, still very much furious that he has to defend his title tonight. Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury are telling him that he is their savior and the men who can save the WWE Universe. Commercial Break Mixed Tag Team Match Chris Masters and Kelly Kelly def. Joey Mercury and Women's Champion Serena
A decent mixed tag match here. The point here was to show off Serena as the new Women's Champion. Both she and Mercury did look a little concerned about Punk, but they continued on with their match. In the end, Mercury gave up due to the pain that the Master Lock was injecting in him. |
Following the match, Serena yelled at Mercury, telling him that he ruined her match. Mercury was telling her that he was sorry, but Serena did nothing but walk away with her title. A graphic is shown for tonight's huge main event. Commercial Break Singles Match David Otunga def. Matt Hardy
This was Otunga's official Smackdown debut, and he was very impressive in terms of the way he was able to overpower Hardy. Otunga gave Hardy little to no time to regroup, but that's the kind of aggression that will get him somewhere here on SmackDown. In the end, Otunga slammed Hardy to the ground with The Verdict to take home the win. |
After the match, Otunga cut the same promo that he did last week, saying that he will be World Heavyweight Champion soon. Rey Mysterio was shown making his way to the ring. One of the biggest main events in SmackDown history is up next. Commercial Break A promo is shown for No Mercy Title For Title Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk to WIN the World Title
An amazing main event here. The match was given a little over 20 minutes. There was a ton of action just about every single minute. The momentum was traded back and forth, there were more than a couple of near falls. Just a perfect match to end the final edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Punk had Rey set up for the GTS, but Mysterio was able to counter it and throw Punk into position for the 619. Mysterio hit the 619, but Punk was able to get his knees up when Mysterio attempted his follow up splash. Punk went for the cover there, but Rey was able to kick out. Punk then took Rey and took him to the top turnbuckle. Punk was sitting there as he placed Rey on his shoulders. It looked like Punk was going for a GTS off of the top rope. Rey was able to counter it into a hurricarana. Rey went back to the top rope and came down on Punk with a Frog Splash. Rey hooked Punk's legs and got the three count. |

The WWE Universe jumped to their feet after the referee made the three count. For the first time in 4 years, Rey Mysterio is the World Heavyweight Champion and will lead SmackDown into Thursday nights as the sole champion. His celebration was cut short however as CM Punk attacked Rey. Punk delivered more than a few elbows to Rey's head followed by a Yakuza Kick. Punk placed Rey on his shoulders for the GTS, but Christian came running down the ring. He attacked Punk and made sure that Rey got his moment as champion. Christian and Punk's brawl spilled out into the crowd, where they soon went from there to the backstage area. Mysterio was soon back on his feet and restarted his celebration with the WWE Universe. That is until............. World Heavyweight Championship Cody Rhodes def. Rey Mysterio (c) to WIN the title
Cody Rhodes came down to the ring and handed his Money In The Bank briefcase to the referee. Tony Chimel announced that Cody Rhodes is cashing in. You could see the expressions on the faces of the younger member of the WWE Universe, worried that Rey may lose the title. After the bell rang, Rey went after Rhodes, grabbing his legs in an attempt to take him down. Rhodes was able to pick Rey up and knee him in the mid section. Rey was back down on the mat, but Rhodes picked him up and put him in position for Cross Rhodes. Rhodes hit and covered Mysterio. The referee made the three count |
.

The WWE Universe was in absolute shock. Rhodes held his newly won title in the air. Cody Rhodes will be leading SmackDown into a new era as the World Heavyweight Champion.

-Mysterio/Punk for IC/WHC title should be good. -Danielson over MVP is great. MVP/Shad next week should be good. -Gatecrashers over Watson and Young is good. -McGillicutty over Taker via DQ is great. Their feud continues to be great. -Masters and Kelly over Mercury and Serena is good. Serena blaming the loss on Merc is interesting. -Otunga over Hardy is great for his Debut. -Mysterio over Punk was unexpected. So was Rhodes cashing in and winning the World Title, wonder how Rhodes/Mysterio feud goes on from here. Overall, great SD. -
