I've got a couple of Vader's. One is from Series 2 and the other Series 4. The only difference I can see is that the Series 4 has a peg hole in his foot whereas the first release doesn't. I've seen some photos where the Vader is more red than maroon. Is that just a variant? If so, from which series? Yes, that is the only difference between Series 2 and Series 4 Vader (the peg hole). The one I was referring to with the darker shade of maroon is in the Superstars Series 2-Pack with Shawn Michaels. Bright red Vader comes from Live Wire Series 1 - my personal favorite. Wow I don't even remember the Livewire collection. Boy the Steve Austin Livewire with the brown camo pants is a TERRIBLE looking figure! What's the story behind that piece of trash?

The reasoning for that outfit is something I can't conjure up from my wildest hallucinations, but thankfully Jakks had enough sense not to re-relea...oh no. I think it's fair to say NOTHING comes close to the awfulness that is that particular Austin sculpt. It's frighteningly bad.

wow I had that Austin figure, always thought it was a bootleg the pants color reminds me of the stretchers that would come with the generic Dollar store figures, crap figures but the accessories made up for it

So...this sweet piece arrived today. Pumped to own it. Anyone know who or what it is? At first I thought it might be an early TTL head, but now I'm starting to think it's the unreleased Jakks WWF BCA Bradshaw head. Here's my first suggestion for a Jakks BCA figure set that I would have liked to have seen make it to production. Ministry of Darkness 4-pack (Wal-Mart Exclusive, Due Out July 1999)Undertaker (2 Tuff Series 5 re-release) Viscera (2 Tuff Series 5 re-release) Farooq (new sculpt) Bradshaw (new sculpt) This once-rumored boxed set of BCA figures had a scheduled release date, and prototype images were sent to various toy sites by the WWF Development Team at Jakks, in the summer of 1999. Below is the lone surviving image of Bradshaw's prototype figure, an obvious work in-progress, as it was presented by Raving Toy Maniac on July 19, 1999. The whereabouts of Farooq's prototype figure are unknown. Though the initial July 1999 release date had come to pass with no Ministry 4-pack in sight, Ringside Collectibles' own Figure Insider reported in early August 1999 that it was due to arrive at Wal-Mart stores later that month. Unfortunately, by the end of August 1999, some figure sites were already reporting that the Ministry of Darkness 4-pack had been cancelled. The news was all but confirmed as Jakks unveiled Titan Tron Live figures in the fall of 1999, and no new BCA sculpts were scheduled for the remainder of the year. Another significant factor proved to be the group's disbanding on WWF TV months earlier. It seems more than likely now that Undertaker and Viscera were to be the exact same figures as their 2 Tuff Series 5 2-pack, a set that wasn't released to stores until September 1999, or about a month after the Ministry 4-pack had been pulled. I can only imagine what original BCA Acolytes figures would have looked like when completed. New BCA Acolytes? Well, that's a story for another day.

I always found it crazy that Mideon and the Acolytes were never released as BCA's. Thinking back there was lots of stables that Jakks never completed.

I wonder if a sculpt was ever done for him. It's possible that something could've been in the works. Not for this set, mind you, but there always were rumors of Mideon getting a solo release in '99.

And yeah, I have a feeling that somewhere within Jakks, something had to have been made for Mideon. Would be cool to find head sculpts for all the Ministry members.

Good heavens that Livewire Austin is atrocious. I see that there is some kind of round black accessory in the package above the folding chair. What is it?

I would assume Mideon would have been a Road Dogg body from neck down and of course a new head as his Phineas head wouldn’t look right since it has the ball cap.

Wow I don't even remember the Livewire collection. Boy the Steve Austin Livewire with the brown camo pants is a TERRIBLE looking figure! What's the story behind that piece of trash? Ain't it perty? The Austin head comes from S.T.O.M.P. Series 2. This Austin head sculpt had to be for a vampire set or some kind of other WWE toy line idea Jakks had in mind. No way did they create this and think, "this is perfect to use for a normal wrestling figure toy."

Sad as it is to say, I would've bought it even if it was Road Dogg painted to look like Mideon. This Austin head sculpt had to be for a vampire set or some kind of other WWE toy line idea Jakks had in mind. No way did they create this and think, "this is perfect to use for a normal wrestling figure toy." The abandoned S.T.O.M.P. Series 5: Bloodlines concept could have been batted around for a few years, but the skeptic in me thinks it perfectly reasonable to assume Jakks botched it like so many other sculpts of the BCA era.

Here's a closer look at what Jakks was going for with the S.T.O.M.P. Series 2 Austin head: Now compare that hand-painted proto to the finished product: Credit: eBay seller katie2_0 for the image. That's why I think the fault lies entirely with the shoddy production. The sculpt itself isn't really the problem.

That head would have fitted in well in that unreleased demon side line or whatever it was.

I want to wish a happy birthday to my fellow board members born on today's date. Hope you all have a good one. "The Gothic Superstar" Ronin @bahufmw Venom_Spewer @greg10 hulk86 @iamphenomenal marklud @mattv1120 @murrayyyyy @ptcollector r1ch1e @thecameron81 wyleecyotee To celebrate, I thought I'd look back and see if I had anything to share from this day as it relates to the Jakks BCA era (and slightly beyond). In other words... This Day in BCA History: November 20 1998- Aaron Morgan at Figure Zone suggests Best of '98 Series 1 will include: The New Age Outlaws, LOD 2000, The Headbangers, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Shawn Michaels. Ringside Collection Series 3 is rumored to have names such as: Shane McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, Debra McMichael, a Jim Ross re-release, a Sgt. Slaughter re-release, Jacqueline, and a WWF Cameraman (names in bold are the most probable). Last but not least, Ripped and Ruthless Series 3 is rumored to feature the likes of: Ken Shamrock, "Marvelous" Marc Mero, Owen Hart, and Chyna.
- Tomart.com indicates S.T.O.M.P. Series 3 has recently been released to stores. This space-themed wave consists of: Kane, Undertaker, LOD 2000 members Hawk and Animal, "Marvelous" Marc Mero, and Sable.
- A guy named LoneWol135 at rec.toys.action-figures.discuss seems to think Stone Cold Steve Austin's various bathroom beatdowns (on Brian Pillman and Goldust) are the inspiration behind there being a toilet accessory in the new "Back Alley Brawl" Grapple Gear playset.
- A guy named bChen from the above archived post thinks Jakks missed the boat on a BCA 4-Pack dedicated to the many faces of Goldust, including: Marilyn Dust, New Years Baby Dust, Dusty Dust, Flair Dust, Shaft Dust, or his personal favorite - S&M Dust.
1999- Aaron Morgan at Figure Zone shares MOC images of all six figures from Maximum Sweat Series 4. This wave of non-BCA Jakks figures includes: B.A. Billy Gunn, Droz, Kane, Road Dogg, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Undertaker.
- Reptile at Action Figure Resource passes along an article written by Brian Lutz about new Jakks figures with an accompanying photo gallery on WWF.com. The figures shown and/or mentioned in the piece include: the Internet-Active Stone Cold Steve Austin figure, Back Talkin' Crushers Series 1, Titan Tron Live Series 2, TTL Double Slam Series 2, and TTL SmackDown! Series 2.
- A guy named Chris (username RThomas419) at rec.toys.action-figures.discuss recommends a couple different referee figures for someone in need. He says Target has plenty of the Raw Is War 4-Pack right now featuring Mankind in a black-and-white striped referee shirt with Mr. Socko, Stone Cold Steve Austin in camouflage gear, Undertaker, and The Rock. It retails for $19.99. Also, Toysrus still has the first series of Toy Biz WCW figures in stock. Kevin Nash (at $5.99) comes with a referee figure in a blue shirt, and he says the scale is pretty much in line with the WWF Jakks figures.
2000- Tomart.com previews the upcoming Lita and Titan Tron Live Kurt Angle figures which are exclusive to the new Attitude Points program. For more on how to collect them, please visit JakksWWF.com.

Man Ringside series 3 sounds like pure fire! I’d have loved to have seen a BCA Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as well as a new Jackie and Debra. The Double Slam Debra was complete garbage (Toyfare one was decent).
It’s so crazy to look back at these “rumored” lineups. We can go back and see how vastly different the lines actually came out. It’s also just a little bittersweet. It leaves us wondering what could have been. BCA is arguably one of my favorite eras due to my age. There’s no way we can recreate it (save through customs) and even if we did, it wouldn’t have the same simple, cheesy magic (kind of like how Mattel’s retro series just doesn’t capture that same Hasbro magic imo).
You also gotta wonder if some of these many many rumored BCA figures were proto’d. Like maybe one day a random Brisco or Patterson may surface. Possibly even that rumored Tennessee Lee or infamous “WrestleMania Celebrity” like haha! These often passes through my mind when figures randomly pop up. Fingers crossed that maybe we’ll get some random BCA protos crawl into our lives!
