TWENTY years ago, Jon from Ringside Collectibles informed the collecting community of new “realistic-type” WWF action figures set to come out in 1996.
These would become the Jakks Pacific Bone Crunching Action figures that we all know and love.
For those that cannot access the link, here is what Jon wrote in his original Usenet post:

2/7/96 –
RSC News: Jon360 says the new WWF theme song CD is coming out in March. MartinSieb from Germany responds saying this is true- he got it on 10/31/95 because the CD was produced first in Germany. (Okay, the rest are all figure related. I just had to include this one.

9/7/96 –
RSC News: Jon has 2 final cases of Jakks Series 1 figures coming in next week. Razor Ramon, Diesel, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, and Goldust are only $6.50 each MOC. With Series 2 coming out VERY SOON, Jakks Series 1 will be out of production shortly. He will only be receiving 8 of each figure (four of each figure per case with 24 figures total in each case) and will sell them on a first-come, first-served basis. That is the cheapest price you will ever see on the net for Jakks Series 1 figures. E-mail him ASAP if you are interested.
