Also, you've struck my interest in something....how the F does a figure feel realistic? It doesnt feel anything like skin and I dont think.....at least I hope, you havent been rubbing up on wrestlers to see what their muscle tone feels like. Fun Fact - Jakks actually made a series of dolls called G.I.R.L. Force that had life like bodies, including feel. They latter cancelled the line do to complaints from parents for being too real. Since Jakks was making the WWE figures at the time(1999-2000) I decided to further support them by buying one for my niece. It was almost a "Real Doll" for little girls. With the exception of the crotch piece, the entire thing was "flesh". I think the biggest complaint from parents were the boobs. They had nipples and felt real(as real as you can get in doll). Here's a picture of one from ebay - cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/Pretty-Jakks-Pacific-Dark-Hair-Doll-W-Life-Like-Body-/150474956453?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2 I would kill for a video of the meeting where that idea was concocted. Good gravy.

It makes perfect sense though. Those dealers have all that Jakks product to move, of course they'd bad-mouth Mattel. I bet those convention dealers will be singing another tune next year don't worry. As for the Mattel is too cartoony reference - the idea is so absurd that it's pretty comical now. I found a Randy Orton reference pic to go along with the pics supplied earlier: Please Jakks fans, enlighten me on how cartoony Elite Orton's body type looks when compared to the real person...then take a look at DA Orton's body lol! Randy's tats on Elite Orton looks a helluva lot more realistic than the tats on DA Orton. Hell even the face scan which Jakks is known for looks off on DA Orton and more accurate on Elite Orton. So where's the cartoon?

I can fully understand how people dont like the Mattel figures. Its and NWA convention and NWA is signed by Jakks. That should be thought #1. The other is that Mattel figures still look cartoony. Its being a dead horse over and over that you can like what you want but Ive noticed from taking to older people that they feel Mattel figures look like cartoons. If it's beating a dead horse, why are you coming in here and making stupid comments like this? You are the worst troll on this board.

Hey I own 5 Elite figures and 0 DA figures. Its a common thing though so something must be there. Many people feel that Mattel figures are cartoony. I personally dont mind the Elites but I myself thing the Basics are cartoony myself. Also, you've struck my interest in something....how the F does a figure feel realistic? It doesnt feel anything like skin and I dont think.....at least I hope, you havent been rubbing up on wrestlers to see what their muscle tone feels like. Obviously I haven't been rubbing the figures, I don't have to do that to know that they feel more realistic. I'm just saying the plastic feels like it's a much better quality than Jakks. I don't know how to explain it.

Yeah I know "can't we all just get along", I totally agree - but when statements like "Mattel is too cartoony" is made, it has absolutely no merit when compared to what Jakks dished out for the last decade - my god take a look at Elite Kamala vs Jakks CS Kamala - thanks for playing Jakks. All I'm asking is for a little bit of objectivity

I don't personally like Mattel, but I'm not going to bash people that like them. I mean yes we compare all day long and both sides are going to earn wins. - Legends 2 Kamala > CS 9 Kamala - CS 7 Davey Boy SMith > Legends 3 Davey Boy Smith Part of it is opinion and preferences. The older classics/legends should be more "bigger-than-life" because in their time that is waht they were. The Newer stuff is more "self-identifying" with the character, because presently people want to relate to them. Hope that makes sense.

How can anybody hate the Mattel figures? They're the best wrestling figures ever made. This. funny how some people still hold on to that jakks is better, this is coming from someone who has about 20 mattel figures and over 500 jakks.

All I'm asking is for a little bit of objectivity That's what I'm saying, I don't understand why people bash Mattel and praise Jakks, when Mattel has really gone above and beyond to make such quality figures and Jakks continues to half ass their figures. I just don't understand the appeal for Jakks figures, I really don't. Kamala is a good example of how Jakks doesn't even bother to make new molds for their figures. I can't seem to get a Mattel Kamala pic to work so if someone else can find good comparison pics of him that would be cool. But just looking at the Jakks figures, you can clearly see how inaccurate and terrible it looks by itself, never mind compared to the Mattel version. Tape around his wrists, ankles and shins, an incredibly short skirt, (I had to get one of the skirts from one of those cheap legends figures just to make it look slightly more accurate, how sad), no necklace, and no shield. The Jakks one has so many flaws, yet the Mattel version is spot on, even without the accessories it's still an excellent figure. I just can't seem to understand why Jakks still has loyal fans when they continue to ignore what we want and have screwed us over so many times. And these same people bash Mattel, when they're going all out for their figures and actually listening to us and giving us what we want by producing quality figures. It just boggles my mind.

I had at least one of every RA wrestler ever made, but I sold them all once I found out Mattel was taking over. And I really wanted to buy some TNA figures but they're pulling the same sh*t, their final product comes out inaccurate and different from the proto. I've yet to see one single Mattel figure that's different from the proto, and all their protos are spot on to begin with.

I really love how every thread on this board lately is turning into the Jakks v. Mattel war...THAT DOESN'T EXIST!! JAKKS MAKES TNA...MATTEL MAKES WWE...THEY ARE NOT COMPETING!
so let's discuss this Kamala situation...
Jakks made Kamala 5 years ago. If anyone thinks they were going to invent and produce new molds for every single Classic Superstar? You're an idiot.
If I'm not mistaken...the Mattel Legends Kamala has the same torso as the Dusty Rhodes. I don't have Kamala to compare but they do look similar...perhaps someone can shed some light on this *cough* PJ *cough* (lol)
Mattel's legends figures are $14.99 Jakks' Classics started (I believe) at $9.99...then hit a peak at $12.99.
Mattel = Bigger Company = Bigger Budget Jakks = Smaller Company = Smaller Budget
Does it show? Yes.
People are also forgetting that Mattel has figures to COMPARE TO when making theirs. They have a chance to improve on the Classic Jakks may have not done right. Kamala wasn't a very good figure...but I'll be damned if you all didn't buy him, so who wins? No one was boycotting Jakks products when they were the only company making Classic Superstars.
Mattel is NOT perfect, get over it. Jakks is not perfect either, but all the Mattel fanboys on here have no problem pointing that out while ignoring any negative facts about Mattel's figures.
By the way, I am a wrestling figure collector. NOT a Mattel collector and NOT a Jakks collector. I'm buying and displaying the figures I want from BOTH companies because I thoroughly enjoy the work they BOTH put out.

Guys stop arguing. Dont you think people get tired of this Jakks vs Mattel crap? I love Mattel's figures, but I don't regret getting Jakks figures. I like Jakks but love Mattel. If we have to do this Jakks vs Mattel someone make a thread.

Chip, I didn't say Mattel is godly and can't make mistakes. My objection was to those Jakks fanboys claiming that Mattel is too cartoony - seriously!?!
Mattel is the bigger company with bigger budget/marketing tools, but Jakks had a license for over 10 years and are still producing figures today like they produced in 2002 - where's the innovation? where's the evolution? I'd expect nothing less from Mattel than to improve on what has been done.
You like both companies, that's fine, but how can you seriously sit there and accept inexcuseable figures like Team 3D? Jakks fans always talk about head-scans, great - but do you wrestle or display heads only? The head has to be attached to a body, and Mattel is making waves with body types and scales.
When AJ Styles is noticing that Jakks forgot his knee pads on his action figure, doesn't that piss you off in the least? Why do you guys constantly forgive Jakks?
