Happy to see Marc Mero get the better of Edge here. Glad The Godfather is officially here. Love this gimmick. Would've preferred the New Midnight Express to get the win, but the Headbangers are okay. Rock versus Owen. Big main event for Heat. Liked the fact that The Rock garnered the win tonight. Loved the fact that Taker showed up.
Overall, really good edition of Heat.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 10th August 1998...Nice promo to kick off the show with Stone Cold Steve Austin in the ring, calling out Mick Foley in a persona. I would love Foley to play mind games with Austin, bringing out Mankind and then Dude Love to catch Austin off guard in coming weeks prior to SummerSlam. Vince McMahon's interruption was nice, did like McMahon having enough of Austin. Steve Austin taking on Triple H with obviousness that D-Generation X being involved should be a solid main event. Jeff Jarrett beating Faarooq was a nice little match, Faarooq needs a repackaging, there isn't that much else he can do. Owen Hart chasing after Jarrett was nice, but the acoustic guitar overpowers all. Andrew Martin and Steve Blackman sounded like an awkward match. The finish was interesting I suppose. Al Snow and Rob Van Dam facing at SummerSlam seems likely as of right now. TAKA Michinoku and Rey Mysterio Jr beating Too Much was two weeks in the making, not too bad a match. I do hope Michinoku remains relevant even if he doesn't regain the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam (which, if I'm honest, I don't see Michinoku regaining). Cactus Jack beating Ken Shamrock was a good match, smart mixing of storylines, Cactus getting Triple H's rival as Hunter got Cactus's rival. The barbwire bat use was a little unlikely for me though. Doubt Shamrock would do it. Didn't feel like DX and Austin's involvement was too necessary, but it got the job done anyway, further promoting the main event. The Undertaker beating Mark Henry is further promotion for 'Taker's match with the Rock. This match will if not already, elevate Rock to main event status. You just need to work on giving the Nation undercarders personality, because they are playing the Nexus to Undertaker's Randy Orton (using a modern day reference). D-Lo Brown, Mark Henry and Kama Mustafa are so much more than that. Marc Mero and Jacqueline's promo was nice, do like the sound of Sable maybe being fired but, I don't see it happening. See you are sticking with Edge as Sable's partner. Not bad. Goldust finally making RAW is good, but Goldust still has no personality on display outside of a fluke win and competing. Give him some more promo time; it's 1998, he could probably do edgier mic work than he did in 1996 and 1997. Unsure where you're going with Bradshaw's rage. Great call for LOD 2000 to challenge the YBCS invitational. But it was likely that the New Age Outlaws would win. But again, DX plague it. You kept Hawk and Animal relevant I suppose though. I just don't know what else you could do with them if honest. And lastly, heated main event with Austin beating Triple H. Didn't get where Terry Funk came into things though. Oh well, it was a packed show overall, a lot of work put into SummerSlam hype.
WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 16th August 1998...The right call with the opening contest, Marc Mero and Jacqueline are perhaps being given too much on-air time. Edge beating Mero by disqualification keeps Edge strong whilst Mero looks sneakier and better. Just don't understand the low blow; if he used that at SummerSlam, Sable would still be employed. The Godfather finally getting his mojo on. Tom Brandi is now passable, suppose he remains here to put other superstars over. The Headbangers beating the New Midnight Express was acceptable, but you once had Bart Gunn and Bob Holly built fairly in a feud with LOD 2000, what, a month ago? How are Mosh and Thrasher in any way as good if not better than Hawk and Animal? The Rock beating Owen Hart was a match worth being on RAW. Great main event, liked the banning of the Nation. Undertaker only giving Rock a warning was a weak close to the show, didn't like Owen and Jeff Jarrett disappearing via 'Taker's lights, though. Not a bad show.

A video opens Raw is War with highlights of last week. Vince McMahon announcing Stone Cold will be facing Triple H. It showed the main event of Austin beating Triple H, the huge brawl after it and Cactus Jack hitting both Stone Cold and Terry Funk with a steel chair to close out the show. It concludes with Terry Funk challenging Mick Foley to a hardcore match tonight!
The pyro goes off as we are greeted by JR and Michal Cole to kick off the show. They announce that tonight we will see Cactus Jack taking on Terry Funk in a hardcore match and a huge tag team match with Ken Shamrock and Stone taking on D-Generation X!
The theme of Cactus Jack hits to heat, yet some fans still back him up. Cactus talks about how all week long it’s been “Why, Mick, why? Why did you hit Terry Funk with the chair?” Well, how do I know Terry Funk wouldn’t have hit me with the chair? Terry and I don’t talk for months, and then all of a sudden I have a shot at the WWF Championship. Suddenly, Terry Funk is showing up again? He wants my title, my spotlight! NO! I will go to any length, break any bone in my body, bleed, and break every rule in the book until I’m crowned the WWF Champion! By the way, Terry, I saw your little challenge on HeAT. Just so you know, I accept! The crowd pops, but it gets louder as Stone Cold comes out! Austin tells Cactus that he must have his crazy head all the way up his ass, because if he thinks he is going to beat Stone Cold at Summerslam, you’re out of your mind! The crowd cheers as Austin says that tonight Cactus shouldn’t be thinking about Terry Funk, he should be getting prepared bout the ass kicking that he is prepared to unload on him right here right now! Austin then asks the crowd if they want to see him open up a can of whoop ass on him right now, give him a Hell Yeah! Before the crowd can respond, Cactus says Hell No and kicks Austin in the gut! He hits the Double-Arm DDT and locks in the Mandible Claw! Austin starts to fade as Cactus starts to chuckle. He finally let’s goes as Austin is down and he picks up the title. Cactus stares at it before we head to break.
Break
A replay is shown of Cactus laying out Austin just a few moments ago.
We return live as The Undertaker is making his ring out to the ring. He says that The Nation of Domination have insisted on toying with death the past few weeks. Undertaker says that come Summerslam, after ever other member of The Nation is in their final resting place, it will be time to get The Rock one on one. Now, when that happens, Rock will go through, but he is cut off by The Nation! Rock says that Undertaker has been running his mouth the past few weeks vowing to take out The Nation one by one. Rock tells Taker that tonight he wants him to live up to his word. The Nation challenges him to a match where he will face each member one by one until he is beaten! Undertaker smirks and tells Rock that doomsday is coming early for The Nation.
The Nation of Domination def. The Undertaker in a Gauntlet Match Match One: The Undertaker def. D-Lo Brown, who taunted The Undertaker that he couldn’t take him out last week, with a Chokeslam Match Two: The Undertaker def. The Godfather after a Tombstone Piledriver Match Three: The Undertaker def. Mark Henry VIA DQ after The Rock hit him with a Steel Chair. Match Four: The Rock def. The Undertaker after hitting the People’s Elbow and Rock Bottom following the chair shot.
The Rock ordered Henry to pick Undertaker up after the match. In amazing strength, Henry lifted Taker over his head and threw him straight to the mat. D-Lo then planted him with the Lo-Down before The Rock hit him with the Rock Bottom one more time. The Nation stood tall over The Undertaker as the screen faded black.
Everything WWF, including merchandise such as the new Owen Hart and Al Snow T-Shirt, is at WWF.ATTITUDE.COM!
Break
We return to Raw is War with a limo pulling up in the parking lot. Out first is Shane McMahon and The Goons, followed by Mr. McMahon himself. Vince tells them that tonight there will finally be a breath of fresh air in the WWF. Vince smirks as we cut to ringside where we are informed that TAKA Michinoku was not able to attend tonight’s event to do an event in Japan.
Rey Mysterio def. Agulia In a very competitive match here, Mysterio put Agulia away with the Springboard Hurricanrana Pin.
Backstage Kevin Kelly is with Bradshaw. Kevin asks him what he can say about his sudden loss to Goldust last week on Raw is War. Bradshaw says that loss does one thing, which is the fact it pissed him off! He says that for a while now he’s just been hanging out with TAKA Michinoku, but now it’s time to be his own man! And starting his singles career with a cheap loss is not acceptable. Before Bradshaw can say more, Goldust appears on the screen. Goldust tells Bradshaw he’s untalented cowboy that needs to ride the balls of a Japanese Midget, but he is his own man. He has actually done something here, unlike this cowboy. Bradshaw doesn’t take kind to Goldust’s words, and he decks him with a fist! Bradshaw kicks him in the gut before walking off for his match, next!
Break
As we come back JR and Cole hype up Cactus Jack versus Terry Funk in a hardcore match and Stone Cold teaming up with Ken Shamrock to face D-Generation X.
Marc Mero(w/Jacqueline) def. Bradshaw Bradshaw was in a pissed off mood after what transpired before the break. He took it out on Mero, but he was defeated when he went for a pin after a huge powerbomb, and Jacqueline jumped on the apron! This distracted the ref long enough for Goldust to slip in with a crowbar and hit Bradshaw in the gut! Mero rolled him up for the three!
Goldust sneered on the ramp as Mero celebrated his victory, but that didn’t last long as Edge came in from the crowd! He went to attack Mero, but he hid behind Jacqueline! Edge stopped, but Mero pushed her into him! He ran out of the ring and Edge backed her into a corner. The crowd chanted for Edge to attack her, but she slid out of the ring. As she backed up the ramp, with Mero by JR and Cole, Sable came out and threw her into the ring! The crowd cheered as she ended up hitting the Sable Bomb and as Edge chased Mero through the crowd!
A video plays showing the history between Cactus Jack and Terry Funk. Up next, Cactus Jack versus Terry Funk in a hardcore match!
Break
A replay is shown with Cactus Jack hitting Terry Funk with a steel chair on the War Zone!
Cactus Jack def. Terry Funk in a Hardcore Match The crowd ate this one up as these two “Hardcore Legends” did everything they could to hurt each other. The match came to an end when Cactus Jack locked in the Mandible Claw by the stage and rested Funk on a table! Cactus then climbed up onto the stage, but he jumped off and gave Funk and elbow drop through the table!
The crowd went nuts as both men were down. Officials came out to help both men up, but they refused it. Funk ended up falling back down onto his ass, but Cactus used the guardrail to guide him to the stage. Funk was reluctantly helped up and brought to the back as Cactus stood on top of the stage smirking as Raw went off the air, War Zone up next!
Jim Ross and King welcome us back to Raw is War with the War Zone hour. They say it may be hard to top the Hardcore Match we just saw, but we still have a huge main event where Stone Cold and Ken Shamrock will face Sean Waltman and Triple H, and Stone Cold might not have to worry about Cactus Jack tonight. JR says that we will also hear from the champion himself about the attack earlier tonight, and we’ll hear from Vince McMahon! They are interrupted by our tag team champions, The New Age Outlaws! They hype up the next Y.B.C.S.O.C., which is answered by the popular Al Snow and Steve Blackman
Y.B.C.S.O.C.: The New Age Outlaws(w/Chyna) def. Al Snow and Steve Blackman The crowd was really behind Al Snow and Blackman in this one, as Snow has gained a lot of popularity, but he seemed worried about Head, who was kidnapped by Martin and Van Dam. Eventually, The Outlaws were victorious again after a spike Piledriver on Blackman!
Backstage we see Kevin Kelly is with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Kevin asks Austin about being attacked by Cactus Jack on Raw. Stone Cold says that Mick has been doing the same week after week, and that just pisses him the hell off! He says that he hopes Cactus Jack is okay after his match with Terry Funk, because he wants him to drag his sorry ass down to the ring in his match tonight. Just so that when he gets there, he can personally kick his ass, because Stone Cold won’t wait for Summerslam or any other time, and that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so!
Break
We see a replay from HeAT with Jeff Jarrett costing Owen Hart his match against The Rock
Faarooq def. Jeff Jarrett(w/Tennessee Lee) Jeff looked to gain more momentum going into Summerslam with a victory over Faarooq, but Owen Hart repaid the favor by attacking Tennessee Lee, allowing Faarooq to turn a distracted Jeff around and drop him with a Dominator!
The crowd cheered as the ref raised Faarooq’s hand in victory. Owen Hart got in the ring and shook Faarooq’s hand. Meanwhile, Jeff rolled to the outside in pain. He picked Lee up, but quickly shoved him back down. He yelled to Lee that he is a stupid piece of crap that has only cost him losses! Jeff stormed off angrily as Owen Hart and Faarooq look more than pleased, but Owen Hart still has to defend his title against Jeff at Summerslam!
Backstage is Andrew Martin and Rob Van Dam, with Head. Van Dam looks into the camera and says “Hey, Snow, check this out!” and he starts to play catch with Martin. Van Dam “misses” one throw and Head goes crashing into a wall. Van Dam smirks before picking Head up by the hair and he leaves the room with Andrew Martin. They are in action, next!
An ad hypes up Summerslam, featuring main superstars such as Stone Cold, Cactus Jack, Undertaker, Rock, Kane, and D-Generation X.
Break
Andrew Martin and Rob Van Dam(w/Head) def. The Hardy Brothers The Hardy Brothers made their Raw is War debut, as we have seen them before on HeAT. They actually matched well with Van Dam, but Matt was put away after The Five Star Combination. (Pump-Handle Slam followed by the Frog Splash.
After the match Van Dam took a microphone and Head. He called out Al Snow saying that Head “needs his help!” Al Snow eventually staggers his way out to cheers, wounded from his match at the top of the hour. Al Snow says that he wants Head back and that he needs Head back, and he just loves Head. Snow says he doesn’t want Head to get hurt, so can he please give him back? Van Dam starts to taunt Snow, saying that last week he was all happy, making the crowd laugh, but tonight? Tonight he losses, and now he’s begging for this piece of crap? Snow tells Van Dam not to use that language around her, and he gives him a dropkick! The crowd cheers as Head flies out of Van Dam’s hands, and to the floor. Snow goes to check on it, but Martin gives him a big boot! With Blackman being out, Martin and Van Dam assault Snow. The crowd boos as Martin and Van Dam go back outside and they pick Head up. They drop Head next to Snow as Van Dam smirks. This was just a huge set up to assault Al Snow!
Up Next, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ken Shamrock take on D-Generation X in our main event!
Break
We return from break as Triple H and Sean Waltman make their way out with Chyna for the main event.
Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ken Shamrock def. Triple H and Sean Waltman(w/Chyna) This was a pretty good main event, but Waltman took the fall again after Shamrock threw Hunter out of the ring, leaving Sean in the middle of them and on the receiving end of the Stunner!
The crowd cheered as Stone Cold and Shamrock were handed their titles. The two men looked at each other and both raised their title at the same time. Suddenly, the theme of Mankind hit to the surprise of everybody! The crowd was unsure of what to think as Mick Foley came out like Mankind. This threw Austin off as Mick was able to strike him once more. Shamrock ended up chasing off Hunter who tried to get a cheap shot in. Austin started to fight back, but Vince McMahon came out! He said that you two morons, Stone Cold and Cactus Jack or Mankind, whatever the hell you want to call yourself, stop fighting! He says that if they want to make it Summerslam, they better work together! Austin looked confused, as Kane’s pyro exploded on the stage! Kane marched out with Paul Bearer and got into the ring, as Vince said “TAKE THEM TO HELL, KANE!” Austin didn’t back down from the fight, but he was no match for Kane. Kane took him down with a big boot, but he grabbed Mankind by the throat! He chokeslammed him right down the mat as Vince was pleased. He waited for Austin to get up before dropping him with a tombstone Piledriver!
The crowd booed as Kane stood tall over the champion and soon to be challenger. Kane set his pyro out to close the War Zone, has Vince McMahon finally accomplished what he has tried all year long?

-Got some catching up to do, so bare with me here. Odd and realistic to see Jack talking to himself, looking forward to seeing this Funk/Foley feud. -It would've been very burying for Undertaker to have survived. I'm glad he had a strong performance though. -Mysterio's been doing pretty good since my visits of this diary. -Great win for Jack to build some momentum for his WWF Championship Match against Austin at SummerSlam. -Farrooq's that guy who says the d' word all the time right? Well I predicting so, so good win for him. -Wow. Kane's interference made me so much more interested in this if possible. Can't wait to find out what's next. -Good show.

We are greeted by Jim Ross and Shane McMahon as always and they hype up two huge matches tonight. Not only will The Legion of Doom team up with The Headbangers to take on The New Midnight Express and Too Much, but European Champion Owen Hart will battle Kane in our main event!
The Legion of Doom and The Headbangers def. The New Midnight Express and Too Much(w/Jim Cornette) In a jam packed first match that got the crowd into the show actually turned out to be good. Bob seemed close to putting Animal away with the Alabama Slam, but Animal countered it into the Doomsday Deceive position, allowing Hawk to climb to the top and hit it!
Backstage Kevin Kelly is with Paul Bearer and Kane. Before Kevin can say anything, Kane shoves him out of the picture and Paul takes the microphone. Paul says that on Raw is War Kane proved why he should be the WWF Champion! Not only did he take out Cactus Jack, but he gave a Tombstone Piledriver to Stone Cold Steve Austin! Even Vince McMahon himself knows that Kane is a true champion, unlike Austin and Mick! As for tonight Owen Hart will only be the next victim in Kane’s path of destruction to becoming the WWF Champion!
Break
As we come back from break Tom Brandi is making his way out to the ring for his match against Goldust.
Goldust def. Tom Brandi Goldust put Brandi away following a Curtain Call.
A video recapping Raw is War is aired. It shows Cactus Jack taking out Austin on Raw before beating Terry Funk in a hardcore match. Then it shows the main event before Mick Foley, now dressed as Mankind, attacks Austin until Kane comes out! The video closes with Kane chokeslamming Mick and giving the Tombstone Piledriver to Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Still to come in our main event, European Champion Owen Hart versus Kane!
Break
We come back to see Dan Severn making his entrance, looking to bounce back after a tag loss to Faarooq and Owen Hart to too long ago.
Dan Severn def. Edge Severn picked up the win with a back to belly Piledriver after interference from Marc Mero.
Edge had trouble getting to his feet after such a vicious move as Dan Severn had hash and raised by the ref. Mero looked more than pleased at this sight, as right now the chances look like Sable might be fired next week!
Backstage Owen Hart is seen getting ready for his match against “The Big Red Machine” up next, when Kevin Kelly walks in the room. Kevin asks Hart if he can get his thoughts on the match and Kane. Owen says that obviously Kane is underestimating him here, but there is a reason why he is European Champion, and why Kane is not a champion. Owen says he has more heart than anyone else in this locker room, and he’s been busting his ass for a decade after the WWF Championship. After he beats Kane tonight, and after he beats Jarrett at Summerslam, he’s going back for that title. Owen promises that he will not only be the European Champion, but the World Champion as well.
Up next, European Champion Owen Hart versus Kane!
A video hypes up Summerslam, one week from tonight, set to AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”
Break
Kane(w/Paul Bearer) def. Owen Hart VIA DQ In a great main event, Owen gave everything he had against Kane. In the end it came down to when Kane was going to hit the Tombstone on the outside, but Stone Cold jumped him from behind, out for revenge!
The crowd was going nuts as Austin hammered Kane with shot after shot. Austin threw him back in the ring and ended up going back on the attack. Kane was able to fight back, and soon he went for the chokeslam, but Austin got out! As Kane turned around, Austin nailed him with the Stunner! Kane tumbled out of the ring as the crowd was in a frenzy. Kane ended up backing up the ramp as Austin didn’t take his eyes off of him, yelling “You, Vince, and Mick will NEVER screw or take this title off of me! Oh hell yeah!” as HeAT goes off the air.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 17th August 1998...Good opening promo to kick off the show with Cactus Jack in the ring. Terry Funk's involvement was lovely, but I don't get how much more you can get out of Terry. In addition, Funk is definitely no Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Nation beating the Undertaker was great, loved how the third match ended with The Rock getting Mark Henry disqualified and then pinning 'Taker. I definitely see the Undertaker winning at SummerSlam though. Should have been the main event to Monday Night RAW though. Rey Mysterio Jr defeating Aguila is a nice match. Good advancement of the light heavyweight division. Good promo with Bradshaw. His feud with Goldust doesn't interest me a lot though. Marc Mero beating Bradshaw I didn't like at all. Goldust's involvement helped him though. Sable and Edge involved with Mero and Jacqueline is still good, not far from the reality tree though. Lastly, glad we finally get that almighty classic Hardcore match between Cactus Jack and Terry Funk. Was a nice main event to the first hour. Good opening contest to the War Zone, the New Age Outlaws beating Al Snow and Steve Blackman is a fine match, nothing special though. Nothing to build Snow's business with Rob Van Dam though. Faarooq beating Jeff Jarrett is good, glad to see Faarooq still getting over and beating uppercarders. Jarrett hopefully gets a main event spot in 1999. Owen Hart's involvement was nicely done. Good attempt made by the debuting Hardy Brothers. Andrew Martin and RVD needed the win though. Liked how you had Head accompany them. The aftermath was nice but lacked continuity since Snow had just lost a match and was rendered unconscious. Should have been in the first hour if I'm honest. Lastly, good main event win for Stone Cold Steve Austin and Ken Shamrock against Triple H and Sean Waltman. Kane's involvement with Mankind in the end of the show was nice. A solidly built show.
WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 23rd August 1998...Finally, seven days away from SummerSlam. You can probably get another match set up for SummerSlam really. Seven wouldn't do the trick. The Legion of Doom and the Headbangers were obviously going to beat the New Midnight Express and Too Much: LOD 2000 would be able to do it single handedly, even. They need to get back in the RAW is WAR scene. Goldust beating Tom Brandi is obvious. Brandi you need to slow down using. At this point, he was still used as a lower midcarder, not an enhancement talent. Use some other jobbers to variate. Dan Severn beating Edge hurt Edge, built Severn though. Marc Mero's involvement really did it. Kane beating Owen Hart was a decent main event, liked the disqualification finish and Stone Cold Steve Austin's involvement was nice. A decent episode I'll say.

A video opens Raw is War highlighting last week’s broadcast.
We are greeted by JR and Cole who welcomes us to the final Raw is War before Summerslam, live this Sunday on Pay Per View! They say things have been heating up, no pun indented, in the war between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Cactus Jack, but Vince McMahon has been trying to destroy them once more! JR announces as of result from his Sunday Night HeAT actions, Stone Cold will face Kane in our main event and Cactus Jack will face Owen Hart! Stone Cold’s theme song hits as the crowd goes nuts.
Austin says tonight he was going to get prepared to kick Mick Foley’s ass this Sunday, but Vince McMahon is still trying to destroy Stone Cold Steve Austin. And once again, he’s using a big red dummy, but this one can’t even say a damn word. Also, tonight will mark the third time he has faced Kane, and it will be the third time that he beats Kane! Then, this Sunday Stone Cold is going to march down to Madison Square Garden, open up a can of whoop ass on Cactus Jack, and for the sixth pay per view in a row, he will walk out the WWF Champion! The crowd cheers, but Vince McMahon makes his way out to the ring, but of course not alone. Vince tells Austin that he has been “raising hell” for too long around here. He doesn’t trust Cactus Jack to be the man who stops you, but he does indeed trust “The Big Red Machine” Kane! Before Vince says more, Cactus Jack comes out to another split reaction. Cactus tells Vince what he just said is the exact reason why he no longer relies on anyone or anything in the WWF. No one and nothing believes that Cactus Jack can beat Stone Cold Steve Austin and become the WWF Champion! NO ONE! No one expect for man, and that man is Mick Foley! Mick Foley knows that deep down, Cactus Jack will be the WWF Champion at Summerslam! And once he raises the title in the air, Vince McMahon, Kane, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Vader, DX, Terry Funk, well, they can all go to hell! Austin tells Cactus that he must have lost his damn mind, but Vince tells Austin they’re both out of their minds. Austin tells Mick to excuse him for a second, and he clothesline Vince McMahon down! The goons charge, but the only end up receiving Stunners! Vince and Shane McMahon flee from the ring as Austin turns around only for Cactus to be in his face. The two share no words or fists, just a stare down as Raw is War goes to break.
Break
We return as a pissed Vince and Shane McMahon are walking backstage. They bump into Paul Bearer in the hall way. Vince tells Paul that tonight, he needs to tell Kane to destroy Stone Cold! He wants Stone Cold to be broken down into little pieces, so he can just step on them! Paul tells Vince McMahon that tonight Kane will destroy Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event, but Kane does not want to go unpaid for his actions! If he wins, he wants to be first in line for the vacant WWF title. Vince smirks and tells Paul he has a deal!
Rob Van Dam(w/Andrew Martin) def. Al Snow(w/Head and Steve Blackman) Just a few days before the Summerslam tag team match, Al Snow and Rob Van Dam met. Snow was pissed after what Van Dam and Martin did last week, but his emotions got the best of him. RVD won following a five star frog splash.
After the match Blackman checked on Snow while Van Dam and Martin celebrated. Van Dam pointed to Blackman and said that this Sunday; they both will be knocked out cold!
Get all the WWF merchandise at WWF.ATTITUDE.COM!
Break
We see a replay of last week with The Nation of Domination facing The Undertaker one by one. Eventually, The Nation won after Rock used a steel chair to get the pin following a people’s elbow and Rock Bottom. D-Lo Brown and the rest of The Nation make their way out to the ring. Rock hands D-Lo a microphone and he says that he has survived The Undertaker, not once, but twice! Now tonight, only six days before The Rock whoops Undertaker all over Madison Square Garden, he will beat him right now! The Lord of Darkness then makes his way out for the match.
The Undertaker def. D-Lo Brown(w/The Nation of Domination) D-Lo Brown felt The Undertaker’s wrath for a third time, and tonight he was pinned after a Tombstone Piledriver.
Following the match, unlike before, The Rock and co. are hesitating to enter the ring. The Rock tells Undertaker he is just going to have to wait for this Sunday!
Backstage is D-Generation X. While Triple H talks, Chyna stands straight, but Waltman jokes around with her and puts on a dunce hat. She swats it off and stares at Sean. Meanwhile, Triple H talks about how for weeks it appears he has been running away from Ken Shamrock. He states it is only a strategy maneuver, and to prove it, he wants Ken Shamrock to pull all of those wieners out of his mouth, march down to the ring, and face him like a man! Even though there is one rule, pants are to be worn at all times! Triple H cracks up as Raw goes to a break
Break
We return as the WWF Tag Team Champions, Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James make their way out. They welcome us to the eighth You Better Call Somebody Open Challenge! It is accepted by none other than the up and coming brother tandem of The Hardy Brothers!
Y.B.C.S.O.C.: The New Age Outlaws(w/Chyna) def. The Hardy Brothers Sadly, the Y.B.C.S.O.C. went back to its formula from July. Gunn put Matt away following the Fame-Ass—Er
Backstage the European Champion Owen Hart is with Kevin Kelly. Kevin asks the champion if he can get his thoughts on his match up next against Cactus Jack. Owen says that on HeAT he would have been able to beat a WWF title contender, and finally evaluate him to that spot, but Stone Cold attacked Kane mid-match. He goes on to say tonight he will beat the number one contender and he just hopes that Jeff Jarrett shows up tonight! Because he wants to give Jeff a piece of his own medicine before he beats him at Summerslam!
Up next, European Champion Owen Hart versus Cactus Jack!
Break
Owen Hart versus Cactus Jack goes to a No Contest The crowd was really into this match, but it was ruined by Jeff Jarrett, and Kane! Jeff was actually attacking Owen which caused the bell to ring, but then Kane’s pyro hit as he was going for Jack.
Kane continues his quest for the title as Cactus and he trade shots. Meanwhile, Double J and Owen Hart ended fighting on the stage until Hart took full advantage. Hart ended up chasing him off to the back as the crowd cheered. Meanwhile, in the ring Kane and Cactus were still trading fists. They soon spilled to the outside where Cactus took apart the announcers table! He gave Kane a low blow, and did the “Bang Bang” motion, but Kane grab him by the throat. The crowd wasn’t sure on how to react as Kane gave him a chokeslam through the table! One down, one to go? Raw goes off the air as Kane stands tall over Cactus Jack.
We are welcomed to the War Zone by JR and King. They talk about how Cactus Jack and Stone Cold just want to hurt each other badly, but Vince McMahon has convinced Paul Bearer to get Kane to destroy them before Summerslam! They ponder if Kane will strike again in our main event tonight, where he takes on Stone Cold Steve Austin! AAAAAA RUSH! The crowd pops as the Legion of Doom make their way out.
The Rock and Mark Henry(w/The Godfather) def. The Legion of Doom The Legion of Doom carried out their latest HeAT feud onto Raw is War here. D-Lo was absent after his battle with The Undertaker on Raw. Eventually Rock pinned Animal after getting out of a power slam and hitting the Rock Bottom as Mark and Hawk were brawling of the floor.
Rock celebrated his win on the outside as Hawk went in to check on Animal. Rock grabs a microphone and says that right now, he is going to send a message to The Undertaker! The Nation the circle the ring and attack Hawk like a pack of wolves. Hawk fights back and throws The Godfather out of the ring, but the strength of Mark Henry is too much as he tosses Hawk to the outside. Rock smirks and picks up a staggering Animal. Rock then flips him upside down and the crowd boos. Rock hits the tombstone on Animal! Rock smirks, but the lights go out! Undertaker appears in the ring as they come back on and Rock scrams! Mark shows no fear, but he only gets hit by a chokeslam! Rock gulps on the ramp as Undertaker watches on.
We see Triple H and Chyna walking backstage; Triple H calls out Ken Shamrock, next!
Break
As we return a replay from last week is shown with Stone Cold and Ken Shamrock beating DX in the main event.
We go live as Triple H and Chyna make their way out. Triple H says that earlier tonight he was a real man, and he said that he wanted Ken Shamrock to come out here in the ring tonight! So right now, he wants Shamrock to come out here! The crowd pops as Shamrock’s theme hits, but the champion does not come out, instead it’s Sean Waltman! He’s in Shamrock’s attire and he has ridiculous looking fake muscles on. Also, he has a hot dog in his mouth. As he gets in the ring Hunter takes the hot dog out of his mouth and throws it into the crowd. First, he yells at Ken Seanrock for breaking the rule, he’s not wearing pants! Seanrock says he would have a comeback, but, he is the worst talker of all time, so he just puts his head down! Triple H pats him on the back and says it’s okay, because this Sunday he will actually matter! Ken Shamrock will forever be officially known as that guy who lost to Triple H, sending Hunter’s career off the charts! How does that feel, Ken? Seanrock sniffs and says it feels good to actually do something. The crowd boos as Triple H smacks him in the face and tells him to look at him when he’s addressing him. Seanrock looks up, but he says he’s about to snap! He then tries to snap his fingers, but fails. Triple H tells him oh it’s not that big of a deal! He can learn how to snap after he loses the title to him! Seanrock puts his head back down, and Triple H knows what will cheer him up! A wiener! He then jumps up and down, but is disappointed when The New Age Outlaws come out with a wiener dog. The fun is suddenly over when the real Ken Shamrock hits the ring! The crowd is going nuts as Ken takes out both Hunter and Ken Seanrock! DX retreats as Shamrock points at Hunter!
A Summerslam ad is played, set to AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”
Break
We come back and a reply is shown of Sable and Edge getting a little taste of revenge last week against Marc Mero and Jacqueline.
Edge def. Marc Mero(w/Jacqueline) Edge and Mero clashed for the final time tonight. Edge put Mero away with the spear after Sable distracted him by taking out Jacqueline!
After the match Mero was pissed and he hit a chop block on Edge. He started to put the boots to him until Sable ran into the ring and pushed Mero down. Sable was going on for the attack, but Mero tripped her into the turnbuckle! Jacqueline came in the ring and Mero whispered something to her. She smiled, and hit Sable with the Sable Bomb! Mero and Jacqueline laughed at their rivals as the screen came to a black screen.
Still to come on the War Zone tonight, WWF Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin battles “The Big Red Machine” Kane!
Break
Goldust comes out to the ring with a microphone in his hand. Goldust says that for a year he has been held down in this company by midgets, cowboys, psychos, sluts, and a homosexual gimmick! Goldust says he has more talent than anyone in this business, and he should be treated like it! Worthless cowboys should not be on TV every week when he is stuck in matches against no bodies! Goldust remarks that he would be better off in Atlanta! The crowd boos, but before Goldust can continue, he is interrupted by his tag partners, the cocky Too Much!
Rey Mysterio, TAKA Michinoku, and Bradshaw def. Too Much and Goldust This was a pretty entertaining match. TAKA and Rey were always trying to one up one another, but the underhand tactics from the heels didn’t allow that. Eventually Taylor took the pin from TAKA after a Michinoku driver while Goldust and Bradshaw were fighting on the ramp!
Goldust and Bradshaw continued their brawl until officials restrained them. TAKA Michinoku help Mysterio to his feet, but left him in the ring. TAKA motioned that this Sunday he was taking back the title! Rey saw this, and told TAKA “good luck!”
Up next, our main event in Stone Cold versus Kane!
Break
Vince McMahon came out to the ring to join JR and King at the announcer’s table, just like old times!
Kane(w/Paul Bearer) def. Stone Cold Steve Austin This was a hard hitting main event that the crowd loved. In the end, Kane went for the chokeslam, but Austin pushed him off, and into the ref! As the ref was down, Austin hit the Stunner, but McMahon nailed Austin with a chair in the stomach! As Austin staggered, McMahon hit another shot to the back! Kane was up, but instead he pushed McMahon down! McMahon was shocked, but Kane then picked up Austin and hit the Tombstone! Vince rolled out as the ref got up and counted three.
Paul Bearer joined Kane in the ring after the match and raised his hand. Vince McMahon was happy to see Austin out, but he was baffled by Kane’s actions. Suddenly, Cactus Jack, that crazy son of a bitch came out to the ring! He had a stare down with Kane, but Austin came up with the chair and cracked Kane in the back! Austin then hit Kane in the head twice before Cactus took him down with the DDT! Cactus and Austin stood tall, but they soon locked eyes. They traded trash talk, but their eyes were locked as the War Zone went off the air!

-Raw is War won the ratings war for the third week in a row. It scored a decent 5.4 rating, and WCW only scored a 4.9.
-Val Venis will be ready to go next month, so expect promos to be aired after Summerslam.
-The Raw after Summerslam will once again take place on Saturday Night titled as: "Saturday Night Raw."
-One rumor going around is that we are likely to see more than one title change hands at Summerslam.
-Another rumor is that Sable is looking to leave the company. Apparently she has been "unhappy" and even picked a fight Sunny, who has not been used on-screen in quite some time. Some people believe that Edge and her will lose at Summerslam, making her leaving final with the stip being she is fired if her team loses.

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 24th August 1998...Ah, didn't realise this was the final week of build before SummerSlam. Average Attitude promo with Stone Cold Steve Austin; Austin having Kane in his way is brilliant, looking very forward to this. Rob Van Dam beating Al Snow was a decent match, the tag team match is looking very weak for SummerSlam though. The Undertaker defeating D-Lo Brown is fine, after SummerSlam PLEASE build up the undercard members of the Nation. By this point their existence wasn't so necessary and they were running out of original storylines for them. The Rock and 'Taker's match on Sunday SHOULD make Rock look like a main eventer. Please ban Nation from interfering. The New Age Outlaws beating the Hardy Brothers didn't do a lot for me. Again, this YBCS challenge needs a point and to me it's just a way of giving the Outlaws something to do. Pretty pointless now. Give them an actual storyline. Owen Hart and Cactus Jack had a decent run-in together, Jeff Jarrett and Kane both attacking was a clustered finish. I may do it sometimes, but I hate it when a match involving two superstars in different feuds gets attacked by their respective rivals at the same time. Kane destroying Cactus was obvious though. At least Hart and Jarrett's brawl ended up in the locker room. We should have really got an update on their brawling though, through to the War Zone. The Rock and Mark Henry beating LOD2000 is bad for LOD. More Nation/Rock build was pretty unnecessary. You've done too many scenarios with them. It's just getting old now. Triple H's promo was nice, needed DX in for more comical effects if I'm honest. His match with Ken Shamrock should be good though. Edge beating Marc Mero was fine, again, too much has been done with these two, Sable and Jacqueline. End it Sunday and move on. Goldust shooting...definitely inspired by my diary, ahaha. Good six-man tag team action with Rey Mysterio Jr and TAKA Michinoku, and Too Much getting coverage on RAW is WAR through Bradshaw and Goldust. If you want to make Goldust serious, drop the name 'Goldust'. It makes him look hypocritical compared to Bradshaw. And that's a point: bring Bradshaw into the 21st century and give him a better, more realistic gimmick. Lastly, good main event but I feel even though Vince McMahon had involvement, Stone Cold Steve Austin needed this win to boost momentum going into SummerSlam. Especially if Cactus Jack's attack was coming. I'm also disappointed with the lack of Kane on the card Sunday. Not a bad show, just hype for Sunday and some flawed decisions. I hope the YBCS challenge is a decent tag team not seen in the WWF, for a while at least. Please don't let go of Sable. She's one of your most over stars.

I liked the opening to the show and am hoping that Cactus gets to win the title. RVD over Snow makes sense and I think would be a hot opener, as I recall that had a decent match in ECW. Owen/Cactus would be a good first hour main event and the interference makes sense since the pay per view is only six days away. I actually think the tag match with LOD and the Nation would actually be decent. I’m shocked that Kane pinned Austin but in some way I actually like it. I think Austin retains now and feuds with Kane. A good go home show and I’m really looking forward to the PPV.

8/30/98; New York City, NY; Madison Square Garden
JR and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to Sunday Night Heat live from Madison Square Garden! They hype up that Summerslam is only moments away is they are speaking! JR mentions how before Summerslam gets underway, we will see three matches on Sunday Night HeAT! Dan Severn versus Faarooq, Bradshaw versus Goldust, and then The Nation of Domination takes on The Legion of Doom in our main event! They are interrupted by our WWF Champion to a huge pop!
Steve Austin says that he is going to make this short and sweet. Tonight he will go one on one with that crazy S.O.B. Cactus Jack for his WWF Championship tonight. Austin says much like the past five times, he will whoop some ass in the ring and walk out with the title! The crowd pops as Austin mentions, that there are only a few problems. The rat bastards known as Vince McMahon, Paul Bearer, and Kane! Austin says they think that there is a chance in hell that Kane will take out Stone Cold Steve Austin! Steve say to the crowd “Let me tell you a story about the man Stone Cold Steve Austin. He is the toughest son of a bitch in the World Wrestling Federation, and anyone that has the guts and stupidity to march down that ring and looks him in the eye as a challenge gets their ass kicked all over the arena!” The crowd cheers for Austin, but then Cactus Jack comes from the crowd and attacks Austin from behind! Cactus pounds on Austin in the corner, but the “Rattlesnake” fights back and he hits the Thez press! Austin then gets off and goes for the Stunner, but Cactus pushed him off and hits the low blow! The crowd boos and Cactus plants him with the Double Arm-DDT! Officials restrain the two as Cactus does the “bang bang” motion. They clash for the WWF title, tonight!
Break
A replay is shown of Cactus Jack and Stone Cold brawling to open up the show!
Faarooq def. Dan Severn This wasn’t too bad of a match. Faarooq won after slipping out of a Back to Belly Piledriver and hitting the Dominator!
After the match we see The Undertaker in a pre-taped segment. Undertaker talks about how The Rock has dared to play with fire for the past month. He warns him that when you play with fire, you will get burnt! Now, tonight, he will show that when he unleashes hells fury on The Rock! The fool who is only trying to use the “Lord of Darkness” to become the WWF Champion! Taker says that tonight, he will have the Rock begging for mercy on his soul! Then, sooner than later, he will reclaim his holy grail, the World Wrestling Federation Championship!

Bradshaw vs. Goldust ends in a Double Countout In a decent outing two rivals clashed. Eventually it got out of hand and the two started to brawl at ringside and the ref had no choice but to count them both out.
Bradshaw slammed Goldust’s head into the announcers table and into the guardrail. Goldust fought back and the two traded shots until a few refs got in between them.
Backstage Michael Cole is counting down to Summerslam. He discusses the main events first with Stone Cold versus Cactus Jack for the WWF Title, which is now going to be a NO DQ match, and Undertaker versus Rock. He also briefly discuses the title matches of Ken Shamrock versus Triple H, and Owen Hark taking on Jeff Jarrett. He then runs down the rest of the card with The You Better Call Sombdaaaaaaay Open Challenge, Al Snow and Steve Blackman versus RVD and Andrew Martin, the mixed tag team match, and Rey Mysterio taking on TAKA Michinoku!
Up next, The Legion of Doom versus The Nation of Domination in our Sunday Night HeAT main event!

WWF Summerslam – New York, New York – Madison Square Garden – 8/30/98
A video package opens up the event. It is played to AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” It highlights the main events of Stone Cold versus Cactus Jack and The Rock versus The Undertaker, with various shots of WWF Superstars fighting in warehouse building on fire. The video ends with Stone Cold and Cactus Jack meeting in the center, staring each other down!
We go live to the Garden to be welcomed by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. They hype up the tonight’s main events one more time and they remind us it will not be the first time tonight we see Foley and Austin square off! Just moments ago on Sunday Night HeAT they brawled in the ring to kick off the show! They then turn it over to the ring, where the popular tandem of Al Snow and Steve Blackman are out for our opening bout! Snow had Head dressed with sunglasses and a sun hat for tonight.
Al Snow and Steve Blackman(w/Head) vs. Rob Van Dam and Andrew Martin The crowd loved Snow and Blackman in this one. Snow has gotten over with the crowd very quickly. He insisted in starting this match. Van Dam was going to start it off, but Martin hit Snow from behind to start it off. Martin quickly crushed Snow, but it was too early to keep him down. Snow hit Martin with multiple shots and took him down with a dropkick. Martin got back up only for Snow to hit him with a flying elbow! The crowd cheered as Blackman came in and whipped Martin into the corner. He hit a clothesline, but when he went for a suplex, Martin countered and hit a scoop slam. Martin followed it with a leg drop before tagging in Rob Van Dam. Van Dam and Blackman went back and forth like their Fully Loaded match, but Blackman caught Van Dam during a cross body! The crowd was amazed at Blackman’s strength who rammed him into the corner. Blackman then kicked him out of the ring and went to the outside. Martin and Snow quickly joined the melee on the outside. They brawled over the ringside area until Van Dam slid in and out to break the ten count. Yet when he came out Snow tossed him into the crowd! The crowd cheered before Martin clobbered Snow in the back of the head and rammed him into the ring post! They were soon able to get back in the ring where Martin and Van Dam remained in control for a few minutes. Martin had Blackman in a chin lock in the center of the ring as Snow tried to will him on. Blackman soon got out after he hit a chop and a DDT. Blackman and Martin both got the hot tag and Van Dam and Snow went at it. They fought until Martin distracted the referee when Snow was in control, but it backfired as Snow was able to take Head and cream RVD with it! Blackman pulled Martin down as Snow covered for the three! Winners: Al Snow and Steve Blackman
The crowd cheers as Snow and Blackman celebrate in the ring. Van Dam rolled to the outside where he blamed Martin for the loss. Backstage we see Ken Shamrock getting ready for his match tonight. He is punching a bag with a picture of Triple H on it. He defends his title against the D-Generation X leader, tonight!
We JR and King who hype up or next match, and it is for the Light Heavyweight Championship! A reply is shown of Fully Loaded: In Your House where Rey Mysterio debuted and won the title. TAKA Michinoku then makes his way out to the ring, without Bradshaw, looking more ready than ever.
Light Heavyweight Championship: Rey Mysterio© vs. TAKA Michinoku These two put on such a fast paced match the crowd couldn’t keep up with it. They shared a handshake out of respect as the bell rang. They took it slow at first, trading holds and throwing each other off the ropes. That was soon put to rest as TAKA leveled Mysterio with a huge kick to the head. Mysterio then came at TAKA full force and hit a bulldog. TAKA got right back up, and he went for a dropkick, but it was evaded before he was hit with a kick to the stomach. Mysterio then jumped over him and bounced off the ropes, but TAKA got up and hit a Hurricanrana, sending Rey over the top. Yet, Mysterio was able to skin the cat! TAKA came over, but Mysterio grabbed him with his legs and hit a head scissors. TAKA was able to land on his feet and the crowd appalled at the performance these two a putting on. Finally, the game was over and the two went full force. They hit kicks, and did everything from flips, to leaps, to jumps, and to dropkicks. Mysterio bounced off the ropes and TAKA tried to hit a tilt-the-world backbreaker, but Mysterio countered it into a Tornado DDT! Mysterio covered, but only for a two count. Mysterio climbed to the second rope, but TAKA jumped up and hit a kick to the back. He then went around him so they could be face to face. The two men started to trade shot after shot, but Michinoku kicked him the knees. He then hit a sunset flip powerbomb off the top rope on Mysterio! The crowd loved it as he covered, but only for a two count. The two warriors continued the match even after the spot. TAKA went for a running bulldog, but Mysterio pushed him off and hit a hurricanrana to the outside. As TAKA was getting back up, Rey hit a springboard cross-body off of the top rope! Both men were down as the ref counted to ten. They were soon able to get back in at the count of eight, though. Finally, the battle came to an end when TAKA went for the Michinoku Driver off the top rope, but Mysterio fought it off and hit the Hurricanrana Pin off the top! Winner and STILL Light Heavyweight Champion: Rey Mysterio
The crowd cheered for both men as Rey is handed the title. Rey holds it high up in the air as TAKA slowly gets to his feet. Rey offers his hand, and he accepts it. The two men raise each other’s arms as Mysterio holds up the title. TAKA leaves first as Mysterio climbs to the top rope to celebrate.
Backstage we see Kevin Kelly with Vince McMahon. Kevin asks Vince why he chose to add the NO DQ stip to tonight’s main event. Vince says that it’s simply; Stone Cold and Cactus Jack hate each other. He also hates Steve and Mick, so why not let them destroy each other? He says he wants to seem both men bleed, he wants them to feel pain, and he wants them to destroy each other! Vince smirks and says if they don’t destroy each other tonight, then he knows just the guy who can get the job done! Vince smirks as the screen goes black.
We see a reply from Raw is War a few weeks ago with Marc Mero hitting the TKO on Sable.
Intergender Tag Team Match: Marc Mero and Jacqueline vs. Edge and Sable Unlike their rivals, Sable and Edge did not come out together. Instead Edge came out from the crowd after Sable’s entrance. Sable wanted to start the match off with Mero, but he insisted on facing Edge. Edge tagged himself in and started the bout off with Mero. Edge quickly took advantage, but Mero was not to be taken lightly. He hit a chop block on Edge on unloaded a combo of strikes into the corner. These two definitely had most of the ring time in this match. Edge climbed to the top rope, but Jacqueline pulled the ropes and Edge landed in a way no man would want to. Mero then threw him off the top and covered, but he didn’t get the three. Mero then started to toy with Edge, but the young superstar ducked a dropkick and hit a enziguri kick! Edge then set up for the spear, but Mero saw this and he tagged out! Jacqueline wasn’t happy about this as Sable was tagged in! She threw her into the ring and started to pound on her! Mero tried to help, but Edge hit a baseball slide! Meanwhile, in the ring Jacqueline pulled Sable’s hair to gain control. The two women went back and forth for the next two minutes and they showed what women can really do in the ring. When Sable went for the Sable Bomb, Mero tagged Jacqueline’s foot which allowed him to hit Sable from behind! The crowd booed, but Sable kicked him in the stomach and tagged in Edge! The crowd popped as Edge unloaded shot after shot onto Mero. Edge went for the lifting DDT, but Jackie kicked him in the back which allowed Mero to gain control, for a moment. Mero went for the TKO, but then Edge got out and hit the spear for the win! Winners: Edge and Sable
The crowd pops as Sable joins Edge in the ring. Jacqueline tries to hit Sable from behind, but Edge grabs her and carries her off! Jacqueline screams for help as Edge takes her away from ringside. Meanwhile, Mero was staggering in the ring. Sable smirked as Mero took a microphone and told Sable to just try and take him out! He gets to his feet and he starts to mock Sable, saying that she will never be able to hurt him! Sable smirks, and she kicks him below the belt! The crowd cheers as Mero drops to his knees and Sable jumps on him! She hits shot after shot and the crowd loves it. Sable picks him up, but he pushed her off. He grabs the microphone and tells Sable that they should put this in the past, and stay on good terms. He offers his hand, and Sable grabs it! The crowd boos, but Sable kicks him in the stomach! She then hits the Sable Bomb on Mero! The crowd cheers as Sable leaves the ring with a grin on her face, finally getting revenge on Marc Mero!
We pan over to JR and King who plug our next match in Owen Hart versus Jeff Jarrett. They talk about the blood has been boiling for weeks over the European Championship. JR even reminds us of their encounter at the Royal Rumble where Double J tried to screw Owen Hart out of the match, but ended up being eliminated by Hart. We see various replays of Jeff Jarrett hitting Owen Hart with guitars over the past month.
European Championship: Owen Hart© vs. Jeff Jarrett(w/Tennessee Lee) The bell rings and Jarrett starts to talk smack to Hart. Hart simply ignores it, but Jeff slaps him in the face. Hart then decks “Double J” in the face, and he scurries to the outside. The ref yells at him to get back in, and he slowly does. The two men locked up in the middle of the ring with no real man getting the advantage. Jeff bounced Hart off the ropes, but he came back strong with a dropkick. Hart then slammed Jeff with a suplex before following it up with a head scissors! Jeff was not to be taking lightly though, as soon he was able to throw Hart right into the ring post! Rather than working on the arm, Jeff decided to work on the leg. He went to the outside and pulled Hart into the post! Jeff then repeatedly slammed his legs into it! As Hart was recuperating in the ring, Jeff did the strut on the outside. Jeff then climbed back in the ring, but Hart came out of nowhere to hit a swinging neck breaker! Hart pounded on Jeff and dragged him to the middle of the ring for the sharpshooter, but he was able to get out before Hart could lock it in. As the match went on, Jeff continued his assault on Hart’s legs, but he was never able to keep him down. Eventually, Hart went to the top rope, but Lee tugged in the rope causing Hart to fall off! Jeff then locked in the Figure-Four in the center of the ring! Hart was so close to tapping out, but he was able to roll onto his stomach, causing the move to backfire for Jeff! Jeff was able to reach the ropes and Hart let go of the hold. Then, when Jeff got up Hart went for the Piledriver, but “Double J” flipped him over his head. Towards the end of the match Jeff was in the corner and Hart was on the second rope pounding away at his head. The ref pulled Hart off, but it didn’t do much for Jeff as Hart rammed him in the gut! Hart then picked Jeff by his legs in dragged him to the center of the ring, locking in the sharpshooter! The crowd cheered, but Lee jumped on the apron! Hart then broke the old and rammed Lee off! The ref then went to the outside to throw Lee out, but in the ring Jeff picked up his guitar and creamed Hart in the head with it! He covered, but the ref was nowhere to be found! Jeff yelled at the ref, so he came back, but Hart rolled Jeff up for the three count! Winner and STILL European Champion: Owen Hart
The crowd cheered as Jeff was in shock! Hart rolled to the outside where has was handed the title. Jeff was fuming in the ring while Hart backed up the ramp, raising his title in the air.
A promo hypes up Breakdown: In Your House live September 27th on Pay Per View.
As we comeback live B.A. Billy Gunn and “The Road Dogg” Jesse James make their way out to the ring. They announce how The New Age Outlaws have not lost a match in over two months! Now tonight, this will be the ninth You Better Call Somebody Open Challenge! The Outlaws await their challengers, and it’s none other than ECW’s Dudley Boys, Bubba and D-Von! Some of the crowd members chant “ECW” as James vows to kick their asses back to Philly!
Y.B.C.S.O.C.: The New Age Outlaws© vs. The Dudley Boyz The Dudleys run down to the ring and the trade fists with The Outlaws. Bubba trades blows with Road Dogg, as D-Von and Gunn hammer away at each other. Bubba throws Road Dogg over the top rope and goes after him. D-Von then takes control in the ring, ramming Billy’s head into the turnbuckle. Bubba then throws Road Dogg into the Spanish announce table and then into the steel guardrail. The crowd cheers, but in the ring Gunn gets in control with a superkick to D-Von. Gunn stomps away at D-Von, but the ref pulls him off trying to get this match to start. Bubba and Road Dogg get on the apron as D-Von and Gunn kick off the match. Gunn takes control right off the bat again, but D-Von is able to side step and dropkick and he drops an elbow. D-Von tags in Bubba, and the match continues with both teams getting advantages from time to time. Soon, Bubba and Billy Gunn are fighting on the top rope. Gunn is trying to hit a superplex, but Bubba clobbers him in the back. Bubba then hits him a few times, before setting up for a powerbomb. The crowd doesn’t know what to expect, but then Bubba hits a sit down powerbomb off the top rope! The cheers, but as Bubba covers, Road Dogg jumps in and breaks the count up at a count of two. The match continues, and The Outlaws decide to give the ECW tag team a piece of their own medicine. When Road Dogg and D-Von are the legal men, Gunn distracts the ref, allowing Road Dogg to hit him with a chair! The crowd boos as he covers, but Bubba pulls Road Dogg out of the ring and throws him into the steel steps! Gunn objects to this, but when he goes to the outside, D-Von jumps off the apron knocking down both Outlaws with a Double Clothesline! At the end of the match, Road Dogg is choking D-Von out with the ropes, but D-Von pushes him off, making him collide with the ref! D-Von then starts to pound on James, but Sean Waltman runs out from the back! He hits a spinning kick on D-Von, taking him down! Sean taunts D-Von, but he forgets about Bubba who turns him around, hitting shot after shot! Gunn rushes in, but Bubba throws Sean into him, sending both men over the top rope! Bubba then looks around the arena with wide eyes, and he tells D-Von something. He then went outside of the ring, got a table from under, and slid it to Bubba! Bubba set the table up in the ring, and The Dudleys hit a flapjack/cutter combination through the table! Bubba got rid of the evidence and woke the ref, D-Von covering for the three! Winners and NEW WWF Tag Team Champions: The Dudley Boyz
The crowd popped for the new tag team champions after the match. They seemed happy that a team finally shut The New Age Outlaws up!
Kevin Kelly is with Cactus Jack backstage, just moments away before his WWF Championship match. Kevin asks Cactus if he could get his thoughts on his championship match. Cactus says that for too long he has been held down in the WWF by people like Undertaker, Stone Cold, Vince McMahon, and even Terry Funk! He says that the spotlight is finally on the craziest S.O.B. in the business! Cactus Jack says that a year ago Steve told him to not trust anybody! And he proved that two months ago when he gave him a stunner after winning a tag match! So he repaved the favor three weeks ago, but he is not done! So tonight, he will make Austin bleed and beg for mercy! And once Stone Cold is out, in the middle of the ring lifeless after daring to face Cactus Jack in a NO DQ match, Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy will be the WWF Champion! Bang Bang! Mick laughs as the screen fades to a video.
A quick video shows the history of Ken Shamrock and Triple H, along with the whole D-Generation X faction.
Intercontinental Championship: Ken Shamrock© vs. Triple H(w/Chyna) As soon as the bell rings Shamrock goes right after Hunter. He pounds on him in the corner and throws him over the top rope. Shamrock then chased Hunter around the ring until Chyna got in his way. Chyna had no problem getting in his face, but HHH was back in the ring and he hit a baseball slide onto Shamrock! He banged Ken’s head onto the apron before throwing him back in. Triple H pounded on Shamrock, but “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” was not down this early. He came back fighting strong and he nailed a DDT on Hunter. He picked him up and then threw him right into the ring post! The crowd cheered as he turned him around and hit a belly to belly! He covered him, but it was only for a two count. The DX leader was able to quickly get back up and the two trade blows. Shamrock bounced him off the ropes, but Triple H came back with a sleeper hold! He got the champion onto his knees, but Shamrock powered out! Hunter charged, but Ken leveled him with a huge kick! Shamrock then picked him up in a suplex position, but he dropped him on the top rope! As he was dangling, Shamrock kicked him right in the face, knocking him off! The match went back and forth for the next few minutes with no man getting the clear advantage. At one point, Triple H went for the pedigree, but Shamrock hooked his legs, dropped Hunter on his back, and locked in the Ankle Lock! The crowd cheered as the champion came up with a great counter! He had it locked in the middle of the ring, but Chyna jumped on the apron! While she yelled at him, Triple H tapped! The crowd cheered, but it was no use! Shamrock the broke the hold and alerted the ref. The ref explained that he didn’t see it, and Shamrock snapped! He started to pound on Hunter even more, but he raked the eyes! He hit the DDT and covered, but he only got a two count. Towards the end of the match, DX was at it again. Shamrock was getting fired up from a beat down, taking Hunter down with every shot. He even hit a huge dropkick! Shamrock climbed to the top as Hunter removed the turnbuckle pad. The ref went to put it back on, so Chyna hit a low blow on Shamrock! He fell off the top rope, and Triple H picked him up to hit the pedigree! The ref turned around just in time so he could count the three! Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Triple H
The crowd roared with disapproval as Chyna handed Triple H his title. He raised high in the air before he gave it back to Chyna to strap around his waist. He gave Shamrock the crotch chop before leaving the ring. Ken got back up in the ring and was very frustrated. He pointed to Hunter from the ring and yelled that he is coming back for his title!
Catch the encore presentation of this event Tuesday night at 8 P.M. eastern!
We come back as JR and King announce are next match to be New School versus Old School! The Rock versus Undertaker with The Nation of Domination banned from ringside! A quick video plays showing the history between The Undertaker and The Rock.
New School vs. Old School: The Rock vs. The Undertaker Undertaker got the loudest ovation of the night, so far. The match started off with the two men meeting in the ring, trash talking. Well, mainly from The Rock. The Rock then slapped Taker and said; “Say something, deadman!” Undertaker smirked and decked Rock with a right to the face! Rock fell down, but he got back up and the match got under away. No man got the clear advantage at the start off the match, but Undertaker was able to overpower The Rock. Rock was not to be that outdone, though, as he even managed to hit a Samoan Drop on Taker. The crowd was amazed that The Rock could lift Undertaker up like that. Rock used his speed throughout the match to get out of Taker’s wrath, normally hitting him from behind, too. Undertaker was not to be outdone as well, as he also showed off his speed by charging at Rock and hitting a big boot! The impact was so force full, it knocked The Rock out of the ring! Then, out of the blue, Undertaker leaped over the top rope and jumped on The Rock! The crowd cheered for Taker as he threw Rock back in the ring and covered him. He was only able to get the two count. As the match went on, Taker went for a running clothesline, but Rock caught him and hit the spine buster! Rock wasted no time in following it up with the People’s Elbow. He covered, but only for a two count. Rock then sized him up for the Rock Bottom, but Taker fought out and grabbed him by the throat! The crowd cheered as he hit a huge chokeslam on Rock. Taker then singled that the end was near, and he grabbed The Rock! Taker then planted him with the tombstone, much to the crowd’s delight. He covered, but Rock managed to get his foot on the bottom rope. Taker couldn’t believe it, and he went after the ref. He stopped the mini-chase and then he sat Rock up for another one! This time, Rock was able to counter, and he flipped over, hitting the Tombstone on Taker! The crowd didn’t know what to say, but rather than pinning him, Rock decided to mock the Undertaker by acting like him. He then went down to talk trash, but Taker grabbed him by the throat and sat up! The crowd cheered as Taker hit another chokeslam! The crowd chanted; “LET’S GO TAKER!” as Undertaker grabbed his arm and went for Old School. As he came jumping down, Rock was able to counter and he hit the Rock Bottom! He covered, and got the clean three! Winner: The Rock
The crowd was stunned as The Rock has just over came The Undertaker! The Nation came out to the ring and celebrated with the Rock. Mark Henry lifted him up on his shoulder as Rock shouted he just defeated The Undertaker all by himself! We then cut away from the scene.
Backstage Kevin Kelly is with WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. Kelly asks him about his WWF Championship match up next. Stone Cold tells him that Stone Cold Steve Austin came here to Madison Square Garden to do two things tonight; to whoop some ass and walk out as World Wrestling Federation champion! Austin says that he doesn’t give a damn that this is where Mick Foley grew up, he will stay open up a can of whoop ass on him! It doesn’t matter if you’re in your hometown, your hotel room, your bathroom, your kitchen, your car, the parking lot, the hot dog stand, your bank, or any other damn place on this planet, Stone Cold will whoop your ass! And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold Said So!
We see a replay of the brawl between Austin and Cactus on Sunday Night HeAT earlier today.
A quick video plays showing the bad blood between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Cactus Jack. Then, before our main event, Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon came out so Vince could join Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.
WWF Championship; No Disqualifications: Stone Cold Steve Austin© vs. Cactus Jack Stone Cold got the loudest ovation of the night. As the bell rang you could feel the tension as Austin and Cactus simply starred at each other. They did not speak a single word. Suddenly, the silence was broken as the two started to trade fists in the middle of the ring. Shot after shot after shot with no man back down. They both went off the ropes at the same time, but they were able to duck each other. Next time around Mick wasn’t as lucky as Austin hit the Thez Press! Cactus was able to fight back and he rammed Austin into the corner of the ring. He hit Austin with shot after shot before hitting a baseball slide from across the ring. Cactus seemed to have control until Austin hit him with a back body drop. The two continued their fight for the next few minutes before Cactus clothesline Austin, and himself, over the top rope! Austin crawled over to the timekeeper and grabbed a chair, as Cactus grabbed one from under the ring. Then, both men swung at the same time and the chairs collided! Cactus dropped his chair as a result, and Stone Cold creamed him in the head! Austin then tore apart both table and put Cactus on JR’s table. He then climbed the Spanish announce table, but Cactus was back up and he hit a low blow! He then went for the Double-Arm DDT, but Austin flipped him over through the WWF table! The crowd cheered as Cactus was down. Later on in the match, the two made their way back out to the ring, and they proceeded to destroy the Spanish table. This was when Cactus hit Austin with the ring bell, knocking him out cold. With Austin out on the table, he climbed to the top rope and hit a huge Elbow Drop through the table! The crowd stood up and gave both men a standing ovation. When they got back into the ring, Cactus went to the top again, but Austin pulled the rope! Austin then threw him off the top and onto a trash can! He covered, but only for a two. Eventually, both men found themselves fighting on the outside again, but this time it was in the crowd. They were trading fists all over the Garden! The ref tried to contain them, but Cactus pushed him away and locked in the Mandible Claw! Austin was fading, but he kicked Cactus in his crotch! Mick went down as Austin took a beer and poured it over him! Finally, Austin threw Cactus over the guardrail and back into the ring. This is where Austin went for the Stunner, but Cactus counted and hit the DDT! He covered, but only for a two count. Cactus picked him up again, enraged, but Austin hit the Stunner out of nowhere! This time, Austin covered, but Cactus kicked out! Austin didn’t know what to do, but he couldn’t get back up. Vince saw this, and he shouted; “COME ON OUT!” Kane then proceeded to make his way out to the ring. He grabbed both men by the throat, but they actually worked together and kicked Kane at the same time! The hit a Double DDT, and Cactus went to the outside. Meanwhile, Austin took the pleasure of throwing Kane onto The McMahon, who were now right at ringside! The crowd cheered, but Cactus had his barbed wire bat! As Austin turned around Cactus swung, but he kicked him in the gut! Cactus dropped the bat, and Austin picked it up, slamming it against his back! Cactus shot up in pain, but only to be hit by another Stunner! Austin covered for the three! Winner and STILL WWF Champion: Stone Cold Steve Austin
After the match a bloody Austin was the only one left standing after the war. Everyone from Cactus to Kane to The McMahon were down. Austin stood high above them and raised his WWF title so all of Madison Square Garden could see it. The crowd cheered for Austin who celebrated another title defense with a cold beer to close out Summerslam.

WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 30th August 1998...Decent start to the show, with Stone Cold Steve Austin coming out and promoting the main event with Cactus Jack at SummerSlam. Love their pre-show brawl, wise persuasive technique to get viewers to order the pay-per-view. Faarooq beating Dan Severn is a pretty weak opening contest, I get that you are wanting to make Faarooq look more credible, but Severn losing made him look pathetic. Bradshaw and Goldust's feud is hopefully over. I never really understood why it existed. Just a random undercard feud I guess. Good main event with LOD 2000 actually beating the Nation. You gave Hawk and Animal credibility, but D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry look pathetic. Decent pre-show to SummerSlam. This Fall I want you to focus on the Nation outside of The Rock and the Godfather looking good on their own as well as in a faction.
WWF SummerSlam: Sunday 30th August 1998...Unsure what to think of that tag team match opening. Seemed like it would've done better with a stronger match. Steve Blackman and Al Snow going over is the better decision against Rob Van Dam and Andrew Martin. Shame to say that Rey Mysterio Jr and TAKA Michinoku's match would have been sh*t on by this New York crowd. Well, the majority. Expected the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship to be successfully defended. Just wondering where this goes for both men. Edge and Sable beating Marc Mero and Jacqueline was predictable. The better call, and nothing different from the actual show. Mero putting it in the past? Slap in the face of Jacqueline. Bad call. Sable acted like Stone Cold with that Sable Bomb to Mero. Not a fan of the aftermath. Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett rightfully should have opened. I feel that you was in the right position to have Jeff win the WWF European Championship, Owen's had a good run but, it's Jarrett's time to shine as champ for a bit I feel. The Dudley Boyz as WWF Tag Team Champions...hell if I can have Rob Van Dam and Sabu as champs in their first match, you can the Dudleys. The New Age Outlaws this Fall should really try and get over a bit as singles stars, identify their own personal characters a little, then team again in Winter. What you need to learn with factions is that, it's cool you have a group of guys together that are talented, but you need to give EVERY star in that faction an identity and a character. The Outlaws, Chyna and X-Pac by this point have little really. Same for the Nation. Two championship changes back to back is a little much. Triple H I guess needed the win though, he'll make a solid WWF Intercontinental Champion. Wonder where Ken Shamrock goes now. The Rock beating the Undertaker...dislike. This whole storyline from a logic perspective showed that despite the odds being against the Undertaker, that 'Taker would still come out victorious. The Rock is good, he's just not ready for this just yet. In addition, the Rock Bottom isn't a finisher I'd say would put the Undertaker down. Definitely a good call that Stone Cold Steve Austin retain the WWF Championship against Cactus Jack. Two titles changing hands is enough, and Austin has a lot more in his reign left in him. Where is Kane? A solid show overall, several tidbits I'd brush up on and work more into, and the odd booking decision I found questionable, but solid result.

-Summerslam turned out to be one of the best Pay Per Views in recent memory. That isn't saying much, as for a while now the under card has been lacking. The even defiantly paved the road to the future. Not only did The Dudley Boyz win the tag titles on their debut, and not only did Triple H win the second biggest title in the company, but The Rock went over The Undertaker CLEAN. It was a risky finish, as the any person who has pinned Undertaker clean recently is Kane. That's why they went with the mid-air Rock Bottom spot, to make the move a little more devastating. Some think Rock will be champion by the years end. Meanwhile, Owen Hart and Double J put on a great under card match, and Rey Mysterio and TAKA Michinoku arguably put on the greatest Light Heavyweight tile match in it's short existence. The Sable/Mero angle finally ended, and the crowd ate up the opener, as Al Snow and Steve Blackman (and Head) have caught on quickly. The tag title match wasn't the best match of all time, but the crowd loved seeing The Outlaws getting their asses kicked. Austin and Cactus put on a fight for the main event, and I won't forget Mick Foley jumping off the top rope and putting Austin through the announcers table. That's something you would have expected Shawn Micheals to do.
-We can confirm that Dan Severn and Tom Brandi have been released. Dan Severn has said to be unhappy, and he began to work sloppy and stiffly. WWF was trying to build him over the past two months for a European title shot with his mini-feud with Owen Hart and Faarooq, but his bad attitude and unsafe work stalled it. His match versus Faarooq was his last. Tom Brandi was most likely released to cut some "dead weight."
-Rumors are Vince McMahon will introduce a title on Raw Saturday Night. Rumors also say that the title will have rules no other title in the WWF has has before.

Love the fact that you have RVD, at his peak, around in the WWF. Just wish he would get a bigger push against some real WWF stars as opposed to undercard workers like HeadCheese. Glad Test (sorry, force of habit) took the pinfall, keeps RVD, the better half of the team, looking strong, though personally would've have him go over. Rey as Light Heavyweight Champ, ahh god, that's great to see! Glad he went over against Taka, now bring in some talent he can pull more good matches with! RVD vs. Rey on the cards I hope. Would be killer in '98! Another suggestion; do 'special exhibitions' or something to bring in talents on one shot deals, like Jushin Liger, and Ultimo Dragon! Hate the Sable/Mero rivalry in both 98's, just can't get into it, glad to see you followed real booking with Edge paired with Sable; look forward to seeing what you do with Edge btw. Edge and Sable over was the only real booking choice here that was viable, and the 'finally getting revenge on Mero' line better mean this rivalry's over! Owen Hart and Double J having a match on PPV would've been great i imagine due to their friendship. Owen over I'm alright with, either man would've worked though really. What a great way to debut the Dudleyz, excellent stuff dude, a great choice of team to dethrone the Outlaws. Love it dude. Triple H vs. Shamrock, another great choice of match, Triple H as the Intercontinental Champion tells me that he may be on the way to a WWF Championship match sometime soon. Rock over Taker is a huge rub for him, definitely helps his cred! Didn't expect to see Jack win at all, which made Austin's win very predictable, though no less credible as a defense. Solidly booked PPV, good job!

First off, I just wanna say that before I signed up to these forums I lurked every day. I loved reading all of the diary's and by far, you're my favorite. I absolutely love it! Expected Snow/Blackman to win, though I wanted to see RVD & Martin win it. I would like to see Martin get a push. I always liked him. Not surprised to see Mysterio retain, here. I'm expecting a long reign for him. No surprise seeing Edge and Sable win. Happy to see the Mero/Sable feud finally end. I would like to see Mero move up toward one of the mid-card titles. Actually, surprised to see Owen win, but happy. I could have sworn Jarrett was going to win. WOW! Did not expect the Dudleyz. While I'm happy to see them win, I think I'm going to miss the YBCSOC. Triple H winning is excellent. I thought he was going to win the Triple Threat, last time. Happy to see him finally win it. YES, YES, YES! The Rock winning cleanly is beyond superb. Definitely gotta move him up to face Austin or at least have him be a threat to the title. Austin winning is no surprise. I knew there wasn't a chance that Cactus was going to win. Great show. Like I said, this is my favorite diary going and keep up the excellent work.

Raw Saturday Night - 9/5/98: New Haven, CT; Coliseum
Before Raw Saturday Night goes on the air, a video package plays highlight Sunday’s Summerslam Pay Per View. It covers everything from Sable power-bombing Marc Mero, to The Dudley Boyz winning the tag titles on their debut, and the main event of Stone Cold defeating Cactus Jack to retain his title.
We go live and we are greeted by Jim Ross and Michael Cole! They sum up Summerslam real quick before turning their attention to tonight. JR says that tonight The Dudleys Boys take on The Nation and Rey Mysterio takes on TAKA Michinoku in a Summerslam rematch, but right now Vince McMahon has some major announcements to make!
In the ring along with the McMahons and the goons is a case with an object inside. The object is covered by a black cloth. Vince says that tonight he has some major announcements to make! First, we will see The Undertaker and Kane square off once again tonight! Also, the winner of the match will be the number one contender for Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWF Championship! Vince then turns his attention to the case in the middle of the ring. He says that under that black cloth is a new World Wrestling Federation championship! Vince says he has noticed that the WWF and the wresting business has gone more “Hardcore” and like the great business man he is, he will capitalize on it! He then orders the goons to take off the case. Vince approaches the object and says that this is a title with no rules! The Hardcore Championship! He rips off the cloth and the title looks like this. Vince says that he must admit that the most Hardcore superstar in this company might just be Mick Foley, so he would like to reward Mick with this title! Some of the crowd cheers as Cactus Jack makes his way out to the ring. Vince gives Cactus the title, but he warns Cactus that to prove his worthiness, he must defend his title tonight! And not just against one man, but five! RVD, Al Snow, Steve Blackman, Andrew Martin, and Terry Funk! Cactus laughs and tells Vince “Thank You.” He also warns Vince that he is still going after the WWF Championship, and that he will not rest until he gets another title shot! As Cactus leaves, Vince shakes his head, but The Rock marches down to the ring. He gets right in Vince’s face and tells him that this is bullcrap! He beat The Undertaker at Summerslam, and that jabroni is in a number one contender’s match? Rock demands that he is inserted in this match, or he will send Vince’s candy ass to Rock Bottom! Everyone is stunned by the Rock’s words and Vince tells Rock that he could kiss his ass! Shane then whispers something into his ear, and he smirks. Vince changes his mind and says Rock can be added in the match, just so Kane and Undertaker can destroy him! Vince leaves as Raw is War goes to a break.
Break
We see a replay of Summerslam with Edge and Sable beating Marc Mero and Jacqueline, following Sable hitting the Sable Bomb on Marc Mero following the match.
Owen Hart def. Marc Mero(w/Jacqueline) In a decent opening match, Owen Hart put Marc Mero away with the sharpshooter!

He says that he should be the European Champion, right here, right now! Jeff then proceeds to challenge Owen Hart to a rematch. Hart tells Jeff he beat him fairly on Sunday, and there is nothing to do about it! Unless Jeff would like to put something of his own on the line. Jeff looks perplexed, but Lee snatches the microphones and says Jeff will put his hair on the line! Hart says that he accepts! He smirks, but “Double J” is not happy. He yells at Lee as they walk backstage.
Break
Backstage Kevin Kelly is with D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry. D-Lo came off very cocky in this interview, the new attitude he has been showing the past few weeks. Kevin Kelly asks them about their non-title match against The Dudley Boyz tonight. D-Lo snatches the microphone and says that tonight The Nation takeover official begins! Not only we ‘The World’s Strongest Man” and himself beat the new tag team champions, but The Rock will become Number One Contender for the WWF Title. Mark then says that tonight he will throw them right back to Philly after he’s done throwing them around the ring!
Light Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio def. TAKA Michinoku In a Summerslam rematch, Mysterio once again overcame TAKA Michinoku to retain the title.
Following the match, as Rey is handed his title, Sean Waltman came from the crowd and hit Mysterio with a spinning heel kick! As Rey was down Sean warned him that he will be bringing more gold to D-Generation X very soon!
Still to come, Six-Man Hardcore match for the Hardcore Championship!
Break
We come back and Goldust makes his way out with his costume in his hands. Goldust says that from on now he wants to be addressed by his real name “Dustin Runnels”, no gimmicks! He says that tonight Goldust “dies” and he drops the costume. Dustin has lighter fluid in his hand, which was hidden under his costume. Dustin then poured it over the costume and pulled out a lighter, before setting the costume ablaze! Staff put the fire out as he walked down to the ring for his match against rival, Bradshaw.
Dustin Runnels def. Bradshaw Dustin won his first match under his real name with the Curtain Call.
A advertisement plays showing where you can see WWF live!
Break
We return and a reply is shown of earlier with Vince McMahon awarding Cactus Jack the hardcore title.
Rob Van Dam def. Terry Funk, Hardcore Champion Cactus Jack, Al Snow, Steve Blackman, and Andrew Martin This match was a pretty big cluster. Weapons were flying around and it was pretty much all out chaos. In the end of the match, Cactus Jack had the Mandible Claw locked in on Terry Funk, but Kane came out and gave Mick a huge chokeslam. Van Dam then hit Funk with the Frog Splash to win the title!
The crowd boos as Van Dam is handed his first WWF title. JR notes that this is history in the making, as never before has a new title been introduced and have two new champions in one hour! Martin lifts Van Dam high up on his shoulders as he hoists the title in the air. Kane stands atop of the ramp as Cactus stares him down, Raw going in to the War Zone!
JR and King welcome us to the War Zone and the recap how a new title was introduced earlier tonight, with Cactus Jack being the inaugural champion, but RVD just won the title! They then hype up our main event of Kane versus Rock versus Undertaker as The Nation make their way out to the ring. The Dudley Boys make their way out and Bubba Ray has a microphone. He says that D-Von and he are not just two “ECW invaders”, but they are the best damn tag team in the world! That they are the baddest son of bitches on this planet! Bubba says that he hopes The New Age Outlaws show their faces, because him and D-Von are dying to put them through some more tables! Bubba strutted throughout the promo.
The Dudley Boyz def. D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry(/wThe Godfather) VIA DQ The Nation was DQ’d after The New Age Outlaws ran out to the ring and attacked The Dudley Boyz.
Billy Gunn takes a microphone and announces that The New Age Outlaws are here to launch a “war” against anything to do with ECW starting next week! Gunn then hits Bubba Ray with the microphone as the assault continues on the new tag team champions. Gunn hits the Fame-Ass-Er on Bubba before The Outlaws hit a Spike Piledriver on D-Von. The crowd boos as the former tag team champions leave the ring.
Catch Breakdown: In Your House live on Pay Per View, September 27th!
Break
We come back to see stills of Summerslam. The encore is tomorrow night at 8 P.M.! When we go live Faarooq is making his way out to the ring, fresh off a victory on Sunday Night HeAT. The new Intercontinental Champion, Triple H, makes his way out to the ring along with Chyna following his entrance.
Triple H(w/Chyna) def. Faarooq In a match that was pretty much more of a brawl than a match, Triple H was able to duck a clothesline and hit a chop block on Faarooq. This caused him to stagger, allowing “The Game” to nail him with a Pedigree.
Following the contest Hunter grabs his title and a microphone. He says that D-Generation X has proved all night why they are the greatest faction in the history of this company! Then, on Sunday he, Triple H, pissed all over the non-believers! Everyone thought Ken Shamrock would decimate him, but he forced Ken Shamrock to kiss his ass at Summerslam! Triple H says he will be champion for a very long time, and if you’re not down with that, Suck It! The crowd boos, but the former champion, Shamrock, hits the ring! Triple H bails, but is cut off by Faarooq, who throws him into the ring! Shamrock then hits the belly to belly, but Hunter rolls out of the ring and escapes through the crowd with his title. Shamrock points to Triple H from the turnbuckle, saying his ass is his, next week!
Break
A replay is shown of Ken Shamrock attacking the new Intercontinental Champion before the break. JR then confirms next week, on another Raw Saturday Night, Triple H will defend his championship against Ken Shamrock
Edge def. Savio Vega Edge was impressive here and took out Vega with a spear!
Following the match an unknown theme started to play around the arena. Edge left the ring and started to look around ringside, but the lights went out. When they came back on, Savio Vega got a blood bath! No one knew what to say, but Edge looks like he knows what’s going on. He shouts “come on out” as the screen fades to black.
A video plays, hyping the debut of a very horny man in Val Venis.
Break
Kane(w/Paul Bearer) vs. The Rock vs. The Undertaker goes to a No Contest This was one of the most exciting main events since Austin/McMahon. Just when it seemed like Kane was going to win as he lifted Rock up for a Tombstone, Stone Cold Steve Austin drove out in his truck! Kane didn’t know what to say, but Austin got out and charged in the ring, taking Kane down! Austin the grabbed a chair from ringside and took out all three men, and the ref had to call for the bell!
Rock was just getting back up and he was stalking Austin, but the Undertaker also got up and he hit his rival with a chokeslam! Austin turned around and got right in Taker’s face, so Taker went for a punch! Austin ducked and went for a chair shot, but Undertaker grabbed him by the throat! Kane, who also was now up, grabbed Austin too! The brothers looked at each other before hitting a Double Chokeslam! Undertaker and Kane had a stare down in the ring as Vince McMahon stood atop the stage, laughing! Raw Saturday Night going off the air!
