WWF @ East Rutherford, NJ - Continental Airlines Arena - March 29, 1999 To open up RAW is WAR this week, a video package plays, recapping WrestleMania XV last night. Some of the highlights included Mark Henry walking out on D-Lo Brown, Kane chokeslamming Pete Rose, Steve Blackman being taken out by an unknown superstar, Ryan Shamrock costing Ken Shamrock the Intercontinental Championship, Ivory claiming the Women’s Championship, and the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection winning the World Tag Team Championships. The main focus of the video is the main event which saw The Undertaker defending the WWF Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin with Mr. McMahon as the Special Guest Referee. McMahon tried to screw Austin over multiple times throughout the match, and ‘Taker did his best to put “The Texas Rattlesnake” down. Both men were unsuccessful, which led to an confrontation between the two. Vince slapped ‘Taker in the face, prompting the champion to drop him with a Chokeslam! Austin soon hit ‘Taker with a Stunner and won the title back, celebrating his win by giving one last Stunner to Mr. McMahon.
JR and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to RAW is WAR, and they talk about having a huge show in store just twenty four hours following WrestleMania XV, the biggest WrestleMania of all time! JR talks about how Stone Cold is once again the WWF Champion, and King remarks that the Undertaker screwed himself over last night, and now he’ll have to deal with the Bbss tonight! JR mentions we’ll be seeing two championship matches tonight, as Val Venis defends the Intercontinental Championship against the Godfather; and later the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection defends the World Tag Team Championships against D-Generation X.
Suddenly, the glass shatters and the fans in East Rutherford explode as the NEW WWF Champion makes his way out to the ring. Austin grabs a microphone from ringside and said last night he did what Stone Cold does best. He whooped the Undertaker’s ass, he whooped Vince McMahon’s ass, and he won back his WWF Championship. He says the Corporation and the Ministry may not like it, but that’s too damn bad. Stone Cold Steve Austin is the WWF Champion once again, raising hell and drinking beer! He turned to the camera and said he knew the Undertaker would be coming after his ass again, looking for a rematch. He tells Undertaker he’ll be waiting, “because as long as you’re still walking, Stone Cold Steve Austin ain’t through with ya’!” The fans pop, but their excitement is quickly diminished as “No Chance in Hell” hits. Mr. McMahon makes his way out to the stage, saying he never wanted this day to come. He said he never wanted to see Stone Cold Steve Austin as the WWF Champion again. He turned to the fans, asking them if this is what they wanted. Their answer was clear, as they responded loudly. McMahon put his head down, turning back to Austin. Vince tells Austin he will not rest until the WWF Championship is back with the Corporation. He guaran-DAMN-tees Austin’s days as the WWF Champion are numbered, and says the Undertaker won’t be the one to do it, either. Because the Undertaker is not going to get his rematch for the title. “He screwed himself last night, and I’m going to prove you don’t...” Vince is interrupted, as before he can say more Austin cuts in, “All you’ve proven is you are the world’s dumbest son of a bitch!” Austin tells him he can stand up there and talk all the trash he wants, at the end of the day nobody is going to take the title away from him. He tells Vince he can line up every dumb corporation son of a bitch he’s got, because he’s going to knock them down one by one until he’s the only one left standing! Vince smirks, asking him if that’s what he really wants. “Well, if you insist. Tonight in the main event it will be Stone Cold versus The Big Show, in a No Disqualification match!” Austin accepts it, before saying he’s ready to go right now, but if Big Show’s not he’ll just have to make due with kicking Vince’s ass! Austin drops the microphone and heads up the ramp, going after McMahon! Vince pleads with him, but before he can strike, Big Show ambushes him! The two exchange fists back and forth on the stage as McMahon grabs the WWF Championship. Austin stuns Show with a couple of hard shots, sending him back. He charges, but Show catches him with a kick! McMahon makes his way back up and waits for Austin to get up, nailing him with the championship! RAW is WAR heads to a break as the Corporate Team walk off, McMahon just stole Austin’s title!
Break
Back from the commercial break, a replay is shown of the brawl between Stone Cold and the Big Show that took place. After Show took the champion down, Vince grabbed the WWF Championship, smacking him in the head with it. The Corporate Team decided to walk off the title, and JR confirms we will have more on this story as the night goes on.
The theme of Val Venis hits in the Continental Airlines Arena to a mixed reaction, but it was mainly composed of boos. The Intercontinental Champion making his way out with Ryan Shamrock, as the couple make their way down the ramp, stills are shown from WrestleMania this past Sunday. It includes Jarrett hitting RVD with a guitar, Ryan Shamrock betraying her brother, Val’s Money Shot, and the last image of Val looking back at Ken with a smirk on his face. Back in the live arena, Val is in the center of the ring and he takes a microphone. “What can I say? Last night ‘The Big Valbowski’ had his ace in the hole!” Val laughs and drops the microphone, Ryan applauding his words. The Godfather makes his way out next, and we have our Intercontinental Championship match!
WWF Intercontinental Championship: Val Venis(w/Ryan Shamrock) def. The Godfather(w/Hos): Val had no problem cheating again here tonight, as he got the Godfather with a schoolboy and put his feet on the ropes for leverage.
The fans jeered as Ryan Shamrock hopped in the ring, ecstatic. She handed Val his Intercontinental Championship and the two embraced. Suddenly, the theme of Ken Shamrock hit, and “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” made a beeline for the ring! Ryan got out of harms way as Ken tackled Val to the mat, laying him into him with some stiff shots! The fans were going wild as Shamrock was getting his revenge on Val, the champion helpless to his fury. He tried squirming out of the ring, but Shamrock grabbed his leg, putting him in the Ankle Lock! Val screamed out in pain, banging on the mat on the repeatedly. Although he eventually he tapped, it wasn’t enough for Shamrock. He continued to apply the hold as referees poured into the ring, trying their best to get him off. Shamrock refused, and they had to bring out even more staff to get him off. Eventually they were able to pry him away and Val slid to the outside for safety. As referees carried him away, Shamrock screamed he was coming after Venis and his title, promising to break his ankle!
Backstage Tori was laying unconscious on the floor as the Pretty Mean Sisters stood above her, Jacqueline saying she’ll pay for costing her the Women’s Championship! Jacqueline and European Champion D-Lo Brown team up next!

Stone Cold Steve Austin is marching his way on through the backstage area as the commentators remind us how Mr. McMahon stole his WWF Championship earlier tonight. Kevin Kelly approached him, asking what he was going to do about the title situation. “I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna find Vince McMahon, whoop his ass, and take back my title belt And that’s the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold said so”. Austin told him to beat it, and Kevin obliged, not wanting a taste of the Rattlesnake's fury tonight! Back in the arena D-Lo Brown made his way out with Mark Henry, but the two were clearly arguing over the events last night. Mark was heard telling Brown they need to do things differently, "Mr. Charisma" seemingly ignoring him. WWF Women’s Champion Ivory & Goldust def. European Champion D-Lo Brown & Jacqueline(w/Luna Vachon & Mark Henry) VIA DQ: This was an awkward encounter for Mark Henry, as he was on the opposite corner from Ivory. Throughout the match, he seemed to argue with Luna about his crush on the new Women’s Champion. This broke down in this match when D-Lo grabbed the European Championship and was aiming for Goldust. Goldust ducked, and the champ ended up smacking Ivory instead!
Ivory was out cold as D-Lo looked down in shock, with his mouth hanging wide open. Mark making his way into the ring, looking pissed! D-Lo tried to reason with him, but “Sexual Chocolate” was having none of it. He picked his tag partner up, dropping him with the World’s Strongest Slam! The fans popped as Mark stood over the European Champion until he turned to Ivory. He slid out to the floor and rolled Ivory out of the ring, carrying her to back. One can only assume this is the end of the Mark Henry and D-Lo Brown pairing!
Break
The inaugural WWF Backlash comes to you live on pay-per-view April 25th. Don’t miss the fallout from WrestleMania XV!
Back in the interview area, Kevin Kelly is standing by with “Mr. Monday Night”, Rob Van Dam. Van Dam gets a pop from the crowd as Kelly asks him for his thoughts on what transpired last night, and where he stands with the Corporation. RVD makes it clear he is done with the Corporation, saying that wasn’t really his style in the first place. He says he wasted all that time in the Corporation just to be screwed over in the end, but now he’s a free man. He says he can do whatever he wants, and if Vince McMahon has a problem with it, too bad! He says they call him “Mr. Monday Night” for a reason, and that’s what Jeff Jarrett is going to find out next week, because he’s officially challenging him to a match! He caps the interview by saying now that he’s off on his own, it’ll take just one year for the biggest name in the WWF to be ROB... VAN... DAM! RVD struts off the set with a smirk on his face, we’re getting Van Dam versus Jeff Jarrett live next week on RAW!
Light Heavyweight Open Quarter Finals; Super Crazy def. Yoshihiro Tajiri: Too Much's plea for more competition has been answered in the form of the Light Heavyweight Open and these are two of the Light Heavyweights brought in to fight it out for a chance at the title. These two were able to put on an exciting match with the time they were given, an we even saw Crazy hit a moonsault to the outside. Crazy was able to secure the victory after hitting another moonsault, this time in the ring.
Following the match, Crazy’s celebration was short lived, as Tajiri fired green mist into his face! The fans booed as Crazy was down on the mat, holding his face. Tajiri walked off, and we could see what type of competitor he’ll be here in the WWF.
In the catering area, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco are grabbing some food when they glance over to their right and start pleading with an unknown man. As the man comes into view, we can see it’s Stone Cold, and he takes Brisco down with a huge right! He grabs Patterson and throws him onto the table, hitting him with some rights as well. He asks Patterson where’s McMahon to no answer, so he dumps him to the floor. He grabs Brisco by the tie and asks the same thing, still no answer. He responds by tossing him into the wall and walking off, “The Texas Rattlesnake” has made it clear he wants his title back!
Break
Patterson and Brisco are shown down in the catering area as referees, staff, and EMTs check on them. We are introduced to a series of replays, featuring Stone Cold’s assault on them before the commercial break.
In the Corporate locker room, Mr. McMahon is sitting on a couch, holding the WWF Championship, as he watches the show. Shane insists they need to do something before Austin finds them. Vince tells him he already he has a plan, and calls the Big Show over. Vince stands up and gives the title over to him, saying if Austin wants his title back, he’ll have to take it in the main event tonight. Show assures Vince he’ll take care of Austin tonight, saying he’ll end up just like Vader. By the time he’s through with him, Show says, he’s going to make himself a pair of rattlesnake boots! Vince laughs and pats him on the back, we then go back to the live arena.
WWF World Tag Team Championship: The Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection vs. D-Generation X(w/Chyna) ends in a No Contest: The fans were red hot for this match, but about five minutes in, the lights went out! The Ministry’s theme played, and when the lights were back on, the Ministry were surrounding the ring!
The Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection and DX stood back to back in the ring as the Ministry closed in on them. The two teams made the first strike, and now the brawl was on. The Undertaker watched from the outside as the Ministry were able to get the upper hand. Chyna got in the brawl as well, but she get knocked out by a huge superkick from Rikishi! The Undertaker entered the ring, and his minions finished the job. Al threw Waltman into the ringpost, Rikishi hit the Rikishi Driver on Triple H, and the Acolytes tossed Mankind to the outside. They tore apart the spanish announce table before setting him up, hitting a double powerbomb through the table! Meanwhile, in the ring, ‘Taker grabbed the Rock by the throat, planting him with a chokeslam. As the Acolytes entered the ring, Paul Bearer held up a microphone for the former WWF Champion. He vows McMahon will not keep him away from the World Wrestling Federation Championship, saying the innocent will have to suffer! He says McMahon has made an enemy in the Ministry of Darkness, and now he’ll have to helplessly watch his own company, and family, die slowly in front of his very own eyes. The McMahons were shown watching this in the back, not having a clue on what to do!
Break
A replay of the Ministry’s attack on the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection and DX is played, Undertaker promising that the innocent will suffer unless he gets a rematch for the WWF Championship!
Backstage, Shane McMahon entered the WWF locker room. He scanned across the room, as if he was looking for somebody. Finally, he set his eyes on someone and walked over to the other side, meeting Owen Hart of all people. Owen asked what he wanted, and Shane tells him he has an offer him. Owen chuckles, saying he doesn’t really trust a McMahon. Shane says he understand why, but he just wants him to hear him out. Owen finally complies, but before Shane says anymore, he notices the cameraman and tells him to scram. What does Shane McMahon have in store for Owen Hart?
Non-title; Rhyno def. Hardcore Champion Steve Blackman: The man who attacked Steve Blackman last night was revealed to be Rhyno, Rhyno was able to catch the Hardcore Champion by surprise after dodging a Lethal Kick, taking him down with a move JR referred to as the Gore.
As Rhyno celebrated his victory, the Jackyl and Al Snow appeared on the entrance ramp. They watched as he celebrated his victory, the Jackyl telling Snow he’ll be no problem when it comes to getting back his Hardcore Championship.
A graphic appeared for the Big Show versus WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight, Jerry Lawler reminding us if Stone Cold wants his title back, he’ll have to beat the Big Show in the main event!
Break
Following the commercial break, Shane McMahon makes his way out with Steven Regal and the Big Boss Man. Shane has a microphone, and he assures everybody he is not afraid of Kane, and the Corporation fears nobody! He says they run this show, and they don’t have room for someone like “The Big Red intellectually- disabled person.” Shane laughs at his own joke before continuing, saying if Kane wants a fight he can have one. If he has the guts, if he’s man enough, he will take on the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal right here next week on RAW is WAR! The fans cheer at the announcement as Shane hands Boss Man the microphone. Boss Man says Kane got off easy last night, but he will serve his punishment soon enough. He warns Kane nobody messes with the McMahons, and the next time they meet in the ring he’ll take him out for good! Meanwhile, Steven Regal enters the ring for competition and Shane McMahon joins JR and the King on commentary. Andrew Martin def. Steven Regal(w/The Big Boss Man & Shane McMahon): We saw the same side of “Test” we saw last night, and it seemed like being screwed last night only fueled his aggression. Regal and Martin went at it for a few minutes, and Martin was able to put him away after dodging an attack for Boss Man’s nightstick and planting Regal with a Pumphandle Slam.
Martin had little time to celebrate as Boss Man hit the ring, attacking him from behind. Boss Man laid into him with some hard shots, but the theme of Owen Hart hit! The fans popped as Owen made his way out, Shane peculiarly having a smirk on his face. When he entered the ring, Boss Man stepped aside and gave his nightstick to him. Nobody could believe what they were seeing, has Owen joined the Corporation? As Martin got up, Owen didn’t swing at him, but rather the Boss Man! Shane was shocked as Owen started to lay the punches in, only to get clocked from behind by Regal! Suddenly, the lights were cut off in the arena! It was pitch black for a moment until Kane’s theme hit, and the arena lit up red. Soon, “The Big Red Machine” made his way out to the ring, Boss Man holding his ground. The two exchanged shots with Kane getting the upperhand, rocking the McMahon’s bodyguard with an uppercut. Steven Regal turned away from Owen and attacked him from behind, to no avail, and he got knocked down. The distraction allowed Boss Man to get up, however, and Shane gave him a chair. He turned Kane around and smashed him with it, sending him to the mat. As Boss Man and Shane left the ring, Kane sat up! Steven Regal was all alone, and he was cut off by Hart and Martin as he tried to escape. Kane grabbed him, hitting the Tombstone Piledriver! Shane looked on from the stage, horrified, and Kane shot him another look. “The Big Red Machine” made it clear he was not done for them, not by a long shot! RAW is WAR went to a break with Kane, Martin, and Hart standing tall in the ring.
Break
Backstage the Corporate Trio of Shane McMahon, Boss Man, and Steven Regal were flipping out. Shane was furious, ranting about how Owen lied to him! Boss Man told Shane he needed to learn a lesson, and he would be glad to to teach him it. Regal chipped in, saying “Test” needed to be taken care of too. Shane said the both of them were right, so next week they could take them on in a tag match! They both nodded, and Regal asked him about Kane. Shane told them not to worry about him, because he’s got another plan for “The Big Red intellectually- disabled person” next week! They laugh, and it seems like the Corporate Team are in a much better mood now.
A replay was shown from Sunday Night HeAT last night, where the Brood and the Hardy Boyz eliminated each other. As a result, the Hardys received a blood bath courtesy of the rivals. Back in the live arena, the Brood made their entrance and the commentators announced a best of five series between the two teams that was starting tonight. The first team to get three wins will be the next in line for a shot at the World Tag Team Championships, and we will finally know who the better team is!
Best of Fire Series: The Brood(w/Gangrel) def. The Hardy Boys: The Brood picked up the first win in the series, as Edge put Matt Hardy down with the spear as Christian took care of Jeff.
The Brood slid out of the ring and joined Gangrel on the outside, celebrating their victory. As they walked up the ramp, we headed backstage where Stone Cold was storming down a corridor, he gets a chance to take his championship back up next when he goes one on one with the Big Show in our main event! Stay tuned!
Catch the brand new WWF SmackDown!, featuring all your favorite superstars of the World Wrestling Federation, debuting April 29th!
Break
As we returned from the commercial break, the Big Show made his way out for the main event, the WWF Championship slinging from his shoulder. When he reached the bottom of the stage, Stone Cold came running out from the back! The fans in East Rutherford went nuts as Austin attacked him from behind, the two engaging in another brawl! Austin had the upper hand after the ambush, and he was able to take the giant down by throwing him into the ring post. Austin wasn’t done with him yet however, and he tossed him into the ring to get our main event started.
Non-title; WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin def. The Big Show: Mr. McMahon made his way out halfway through out the match, much to the dismay of the WWF Champion. In the end Show accidently knocked the referee out, and McMahon tried to give him the WWF title. The plan backfired when Austin intercepted the title and cracked over Show’s skull! He dropped him with a Stunner as the referee woke up, and he hooked the leg for a three!
Vince was livid on the outside as “The Texas Rattlesnake” celebrated his victory with his WWF Championship. The title was finally back where it belonged! On the outside, Vince grabbed a chair and tried to get the jump on Austin. The champion saw him coming at the last minute, and Vince stopped dead in his tracks. He dropped the chair and tried to leave, but Austin cornered him. Before Austin could do anything, the lights suddenly went out! The arena turned blue as the Ministry’s theme started playing, the stable making their way out for the second time tonight and Paul Bearer had a noose! The Undertaker stayed on the ramp, McMahon sneaking away from the ring and hid by the announce table, while the champion was pugnacious and remained in the ring. The Big Show woke up and used the ropes to get up as the Ministry entered the ring, Austin wasting no more time as he hit Bradshaw with a right! Show joined in the right and took out Al Snow and Faarooq, but the numbers were too much. The Acolytes ganged up on Show while Snow and Rikishi worked over Stone Cold. Show did his best to fight off the Acolytes, and he was even able to push them away. Bradshaw quickly took him down with a Clothesline from Hell following a nasty superkick from Rikishi, leaving Austin to fend for himself. As the Acolytes started to beatdown Austin, the Jackyl ordered Al Snow to set up the noose. Meanwhile, the Acolytes were punishing Austin so bad, he started bleeding! Blood was pouring down his head as the former WWF Tag Team Champions showed no sign of stopping. Eventually the gave him up to Rikishi, who planted him with the Rikishi Driver! The champion was done for as Bearer commanded the Acolytes to pick him up. The grabbed one arm each and dragged him over to the noose, which Al tied around his neck. ‘Taker got up and slowly made his way into the ring, the Ministry proceeding to hang Austin over the top rope! With blood dripping down his face and body, he dangled in the air as he tried to set himself free. McMahon, still cowering behind the announce table, looked on in shock. The Ministry stood tall to close the show, the Undertaker sending a clear message to Stone Cold, Vince McMahon, and the entire WWF! Okay, maybe I went a bit overboard at the end there, but I figured what the hell. I don't think this show was my best, I'm just trying to sort all the post WrestleMania business out.

Wrestlemania fallout show, eh? Let's see what we have here. Most of the action was pretty good and you're setting up some intriguing storylines. My main issue is with the main event. I would not have had Show job to Austin like that just 24 hours after his big win over Vader. I would have had the match end in a DQ to set Show up as a possible challenger for Austin, leading to a pay-per-view blowoff. The ending was a bit much but no worse than what Vince Russo was doing. Looks like the next few months are set to be Ministry vs. Corporation vs. everyone else. Overall a solid edition to get the ball rolling toward Backlash and beyond.

Opening segment was great as Austin/McMahon is always a great starting point on any show. Show/Austin in a No DQ match should be good. McMahon stealing the belt was a nice touch. Val Venis retaining the belt was obvious since he just won it and I liked Shamrock getting involved post-match. Val Venis was always extremely underrated. Solid mixed tag match and the D-Lo/Henry feud should be good. Would love to see RVD get a huge push towards the top. A Light Heavyweight Title Tournament should produce some awesome matches and Tajiri/Super Crazy was always one of my favorite things to watch in ECW. The idea of Austin having to take the belt from Show is a good plan. I like the idea of the Ministry that you set up, good group of people. Rock N' Sock vs. DX could be huge money but I love that the Ministry is taking no prisoners. Rhyno over Blackman was good, Rhyno to win the title would be grand. Martin is an interesting idea, the name change I mean. Also, I liked the idea of Martin/Hart/Kane pairing is different. Best of Fire is a cool name and the Brood/Hardy Boyz have amazing chemistry. Austin winning was the right call to get the belt back. I don't think you went too overboard at the end because it fits in with what the WWE was doing around that time. Overall, a good edition of Raw for 'Mania fallout.

Raw's ending was intense! Im very interested to see how you play out the Ministry/Austin/McMahon feud. I also like the Val/Shamrock feud, and the idea of a best of series between the Brood and Hardys is cool. Good start to the "after Mania" porton of the year.

WWF @ East Rutherford, NJ - Continental Airlines Arena - April 4, 1999 Following the HeAT opening, Michael Cole and Shane McMahon welcome us to a huge edition of Sunday Night HeAT. They talk about how tonight we will see another match in the Light Heavyweight Open as TAKA Michinoku takes on Sho Funaki; “Y2J” Chris Jericho in action; and in our main event, WWF World Tag Team Champion the Rock will go one on one with Rikishi Phatu of the Ministry of Darkness! Shane says he has a huge announcement as well, promising that his father, Mr. McMahon, will announce the number one contender to Stone Cold’s WWF Championship by the end of the show. Cole tries to ask him about what we saw the Ministry do to Austin on RAW, but Shane ducks the question.
Rob Van Dam makes his way out to the ring for his match, and a replay is shown from WrestleMania XV this past Sunday with Jeff Jarrett hitting him in the head with a guitar, costing him the Intercontinental Championship. Following the replay, Shane says RVD wants Jarrett in the ring, but tonight he has deal with Joey Abs of the Mean Street Posse! Shane wishes him good luck, saying he’ll need it!
Rob Van Dam def. Joey Abs(w/The Mean Street Posse): For the first time ever one of the Posse members were in singles action tonight. The fans were fully behind RVD, who was now all by himself after being dumped by the Corporation at WrestleMania. During the match, the Posse tried to interfere, only to get run off by the Dudleyz.“The Whole F’N Show” picked up the win after a Five Star Frog Splash.
Shane was livid over at the commentary table, saying he can’t believe the Dudley Boyz are still causing him trouble. RVD celebrated his victory on the turnbuckle, saying his name along with the jam packed crowd in the Continental Airlines Arena. Suddenly, “Double J” Jeff Jarrett hit the ring, sneaking up behind Van Dam. He yanked him by the leg, pulling him off the rope. Van Dam crashed into the mat as Debra handed Jarrett his guitar. He waited for RVD to get up before breaking the guitar over his head! The fans booed as Debra gave a microphone to Jarrett. He told RVD he started to piss him off, so at WrestleMania he did what he should have done a long time ago. He said RVD was no longer worth the Corporation’s time, and therefore, he declines his challenge for tomorrow on RAW! Shane laughed as Jarrett left the ring, leaving RVD laying after another guitar shot.
Break
The inaugural WWF Backlash comes to you live on pay-per-view April 25th. Don’t miss the fallout from WrestleMania XV
Chris Jericho makes his way out to the ring, microphone in hand. He turns his attention to Shane McMahon, saying he has no business running this company if he picks Owen Hart to be in the Corporation over him! Jericho says Owen got lucky at WrestleMania, promising he will prove to the entire world that nobody is better “Y2J” baby! Jericho says he knows exactly what to do, because he has his sights set on man. He says he’s one of the biggest stars in the World Wrestling Federation today, but he won’t be much after going through Y2J! He smirks before promising that superstar will never... ever be the same again! Jericho drops the microphone, and it seems like he intends on making a big splash in the WWF, but the only question left is how.
Chris Jericho def. Christopher Daniels: Jericho made short work of Christopher Daniels tonight, forcing him to submit with the Walls of Jericho.
Following the bell, Jericho refused to let go of the hold. The referee tried to pry him off, but was unsuccessful. He started to make the five count, and Jericho finally gave up at the count of four. Jericho still wasn’t finisher, however, as he hit Daniels with the Lionsault! Daniels clutched his ribs in pain and Jericho finally left the ring, the official tending to Daniels. Jericho seems more focused and vicious after his WrestleMania lost, whoever he has his sights set on better watch their back.
Backstage, Mr. McMahon was shown arriving to the arena in a limo. He was accompanied by Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson, who will McMahon announce as the number one contender to Stone Cold’s WWF Championship?
Break
The RAW is WAR recap aired, featuring the opening segment of Stone Cold Steve Austin addressing his WWF Championship victory at WrestleMania. Mr. McMahon would interrupt, The two argue back and forth for a bit until McMahon announces he’ll be facing the Big Show in the main event. Austin agrees and chases after McMahon, allowing the Big Show to attack him from behind! McMahon hits Austin with the title and the Corporate duo run off, stealing the title. Throughout the show Austin went on the hunt for McMahon and his championship, going as far as attacking Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson backstage in the catering area. Eventually, it was revealed McMahon gave the title to Big Show, so Austin had to go through him to get it back. In the main event, Austin attack Show from behind, trying to get his title back early. In the end, McMahon threw the title in the ring, hoping Show would get it, but Stone Cold snatched it in mid-air! He creamed Show with it, hooking the leg for the three! The celebration for Austin was short lived, as the Ministry of Darkness hit the ring. As Show got back up, he had to stand side by side with the WWF Champion to fight them. They held their own, but the it was too much. The Acolytes got rid of Big Show as Al Snow and Rikishi hanged Austin over the top rope! Undertaker watched it all as Austin dangled from the ring, blood pouring down his face.
Light Heavyweight Open Quarter Finals: TAKA Michinoku def. Sho Funaki: The Light Heavyweight Open continued tonight with a match between two very similar opponents. These two battled back and forth for a few minutes, but eventually Michinoku picked up the win with Michinoku Driver
Following the bout, TAKA had his hand raised by the referee. Funaki got up to his feet, confronting him. Rather than attacking him, like we saw Tajiri do on RAW, he extended his hand! TAKA accepted and the two left the ring, perhaps a new alliance has been formed in the Light Heavyweight Division?
Backstage Kevin Kelly was with the new WWF Tag Team Champions, the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection! Kelly asks them how they’re feeling after winning the championships this past Sunday at WrestleMania. Mankind tells him they’ve been feeling pretty good, besides being attacked by the Ministry, but they still have some kinks to work out as a team. The Rock groans, telling Mick they’re perfectly fine; they just walked into WrestleMania, whipped some candy ass, and won the WWF Tag Team Championships. Mankind tries to reason that they’re hardly a tag team, because they don’t have matching attires, entrance themes, and etc. Rock says they don’t need any of that crap, because not only do they have the millions and MILLIONS of the Rock’s fan on their sides, but he is the single toughest son of a bitch to ever step foot in a wrestling ring and the Rock is without a shadow of the doubt the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment. Rock says tonight he is going to go out there raise his big right end, raise the people’s eyebrow, and layeth the smackdown and Rikishi’s roody poo candy ass! Rock promises if you want to see two men who are barely a tag team, just wait until you see what’s left of the Acolytes once the Rock ‘N’ Sock are through with their monkey asses! If ya smell what the Rock is cookin’!

WWF World Tag Team Champion The Rock(w/Mankind) def. Rikishi Phatu(w/The Jackyl) VIA DQ: The Rock had Rikishi set up for the People’s Elbow, but the Acolytes hit the ring and Bradshaw laid him out with a Clothesline from Hell!
Mankind wasted no time getting in the action, taking Faarooq down with a clothesline! The fans popped as he went after Bradshaw, the two trading shots back and forth. Rikishi got back up to his feet, catching Mankind by surprise with a superkick. Rikishi turned his attention back to the Rock, lifting him off the ground and setting him up for the Rikishi Driver as the Acolytes continued to hammer away at Foley. Suddenly, D-Generation X hit the ring, Hunter and Waltman wanting revenge for the Ministry’s attack this past Monday on RAW! As DX exchanged strikes with the Acolytes, Rock slipped out of Rikishi’s clutches. Mankind got up to his feet, helping the Rock clothesline Rikishi to the floor. The Jackyl was scrambling on the outside, trying to help his minions, but it was too late as DX were able to toss the Acolytes to the outside. The fans were cheering, but their mood quickly changed as Hunter and Waltman attacked the tag champs! Waltman hit Rock with a spinning heel kick, Hunter driving Mankind to the mat with the Pedigree. The fans jeered as DX stood tall in the ring, staking their claim for the WWF World Tag Team Championships.
Up next, Mr. McMahon announces the number one contender to the WWF Championship at Backlash!
Break The crowd hissed as Mr. McMahon’s theme played, the boss making his way out with Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson. McMahon took a microphone, reminding everyone how was out here to name a new number one contender to the WWF Championship. He said he saw what the Undertaker and the Ministry of Darkness did to Stone Cold on RAW is WAR, but he will not be intimidated. He tells Undertaker nobody can intimidate Vincent Kennedy McMahon! He dares Undertaker to try, saying he’ll rue the day he ever decided to pick a fight with him. The fans boo, but Brisco and Patterson are seen applauding McMahon’s words. Vince shifts his attention, saying he has indeed found a number one contender to the WWF Championship. He promises Stone Cold is very familiar with this man, and says he has no chance in hell of beating him. “Ladies and gentlemen, your number one contender for the WWF Championships is… the Big Show!” The fans boo again at the Big Show makes his way out to the ring, the three in the ring all standing with a smile on their face. As Show enters the ring, McMahons hands him the microphone. Show promises to McMahon that he will defeat Stone Cold at Backlash and he will bring the WWF Championship back home to the Corporation. Show says Stone Cold has never been able to beat him without cheating. He says he only beat him at St. Valentine’s Day Massacre because of that idiot Vader, whose career he ended at WrestleMania, and he only beat him on RAW because he attacked from behind and hit him with the WWF Championship. Show says he knows Austin can’t beat him in a one on one match, and Austin knows it too! Vince interrupts, saying for this very reason, their match at Backlash will be a No Disqualification match! Show laughs and promises to not only take the WWF Championship, but he’ll end Austin’s career, just like he did to Vader. Suddenly, the lights in the arena are cut off and the theme of the Ministry of Darkness hits. A blue filter comes over the arena as Undertaker appears on the titantron, sitting in what seems to be a throne of some sort. Undertaker tells McMahon he can try to keep him from the WWF Championship, but nothing will stop him from taking the title, his company, and his head! ‘Taker vows that the innocent will suffer until his crusade is complete, telling Vince the only person who can end the suffering is him. He finishes off by saying the WWF will be taking a ride to hell, but the Ministry of Darkness are taking a ride to Greenwich, Connecticut! ‘Taker’s image fades from the titantron as the lights in the arena go back to normal. Vince looked on from the ring in shock, yelling into the microphone that he better stay away from his family! Show tried to assure him he’ll stop the Undertaker as HeAT goes off the air, what will happen tomorrow night on RAW when Stone Cold, the Ministry, and the Corporation all collide?

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 29th March 1999...A decent opening promo to kick things off on this episode of RAW, the fallout from WrestleMania XV. Stone Cold Steve Austin opening the show was the right call, as he has his moment to talk about how he overcame all of the odds and finally regained the WWF Championship...and Vince McMahon has some words for Austin, as expected. Austin facing the Big Show tonight in a No-Disqualification match sounds good, with the WWF Championship on the line? Not a bad main event, although I doubt that the title will change hands. Oh, Vince McMahon stole the WWF Championship. Either he could get it back at the end of the show, or we have a recurring theme running up to Backlash on April 25th. Val Venis in the opening contest was fine, a decent segment with him talking about himself, as usual. I could see this angle leading to Val dumping Ryan Shamrock, turning Ryan against Venis and leading Ken Shamrock to going even more insane. Venis defeating the Godfather was fine, a decent win for Venis. Shamrock soon snapping on Venis was good, and we now have our WWF Intercontinental Championship feud prepared for Backlash in a couple of weeks. It shall be interesting to see what transpires with this situation between D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry, as Austin continues his hunt of he WWF Championship. Ivory and Goldust defeating Brown and Jacqueline was fine, although the disqualification victory is a tad screwy in 1999: this should have been an intergender tag team match in the Attitude Era, me thinks. I see that there is trouble in paradise with Mark Henry having a crush on Ivory. Amusing combination of angles on display here. I guess Goldust's business with D-Lo isn't over yet. Oh, a title belt shot led to the disqualification, I see. Rob Van Dam getting talk-time? Oh dear. I don't think that RVD should have been let off easy for freeing himself from the Corporation...I think that the Corporation should have given RVD a beatdown instead. It would have guaranteed RVD a big pop and sympathetic following after that. But it doesn't seem to be over yet, anyhow. Not a fan of RVD getting interview time and nothing more, and also how we have Jarrett and Van Dam teased for RAW next week. Why not Sunday Night HeAT? I hope that the match next week doesn't finish cleanly, I could see a decent midcard feud coming from this, rather. Oh, I like the sound of the Light Heavyweight Open. It shall be interesting to see whom you may use from outside promotions, and who shall stick around, and who shalln't. Strange to see two ECW stars going at it on RAW though, but a good win for Super Crazy against Yoshihiro Tajiri. Tajiri using the green mist was amusing, an eventful debut for both men, with both gaining some measure of retribution. We have Tajiri's Attitude-turned gimmick in full effect. I'm surprised that Vince McMahon wasn't found in his office by Austin, bit of a strange decision with this segment. The Rock 'n' Sock Connection and D-Generation X competing for the WWF Tag Team Championships was very strange, on free television. This could have been a perfectly solid pay-per-view match - but the non-finish was nice. I don't like that the Ministry of Darkness destroyed DX as well as the Rock 'n' Sock Connection: I just think that Triple H and Sean Waltman should have been saved, considering that they aren't involved in this ordeal with the Acolytes and the Ministry. Wow, the Undertaker isn't happy with McMahon; and so we have our ultimate rivalry with 'Taker and McMahon, Corporation and the Ministry. I can't wait to see where this could go. Shane McMahon and Owen Hart meeting? Heheh, are we seeing a little sly steal from my diary, perhaps with a Shane and Owen/Corporation pairing, perhaps? Rhyno defeating Steve Blackman was expected, in his in-ring debut. I'm surprised that Rhyno isn't associated with the Jackyl, personally. I could see a triple threat match for the WWF Hardcore Championship happening at Backlash. No follow up with Shane and Owen yet? Hmm. Andrew Martin defeating Steven Regal was fine, giving Martin some good momentum. In 1999, Martin had a lot of potential. I'd like to see that in effect. Wow, so Owen Hart wasn't fond of meeting with Shane and joining the Corporation? A big bullseye on his head: I'd love to see Owen join the fight against the Corporation. I liked Kane's inclusion as well. It's not been a great two nights for the Corporation. I suppose that this could lead to some six-man tag team action very soon. Maybe at Backlash, but I could see it happening on an episode of RAW instead, maybe. Ah wow, the best of five series between the Brood and the Hardy Boys begins! A nice win for the Brood to kick off the series, I am wondering if we will be seeing a similar climax to their series as in real life: a Ladder match. That would be interesting, this is a good chance to get Edge, Christian, Jeff and Matt Hardy on the map, and to credibly follow the WWF Tag Team Championship division. And finally, Stone Cold Steve Austin defeating Paul Wight was expected, in a chaotic no-disqualification match. Although the no-disqualification finish wasn't mentioned at all. I think that the loss for Show hurt his momentum though, and instead I would have simply gone with the no contest finish to the show. Just to illustrate that the Ministry are truly at war with the Corporation. A big war, with the Undertaker perhaps showing that he has intentions to regain the WWF Championship, probably at Backlash against Austin and maybe Show - a triple threat match could come from this. Overall, a solid fallout edition from WrestleMania XV for RAW is WAR. Not a lot to complain about, other than what I've said previously.
WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 4th April 1999...Rob Van Dam kicking off the show was fine, with an easy victory against Joey Abs of the Mean Street Posse. It was a good starter for RVD in the early days of his face turn, and what should be a successful Summer tenure. I'd have had this match in the middle of the show though, as this struck me as quite a weak opening contest. I understand that HeAT is the B-show, but it's being underutilized majorly here, I think. The Dudley Boyz helping their ECW colleague against the Corporation members, and we could possibly have another clique enter the faction war, by the name of the ECW alumnus. Up next, Chris Jericho with an in-ring promo was good, as he talks about his future. Although it was very vague. Is there not a lot for Jericho to do at the minute? Surely not. I hope Y2J falls onto his feet again, starting from RAW is WAR tomorrow night. Who is this Chris Daniels kid? Heh. Jericho with a win was fine, but maybe not needed. I'd have maybe waited for RAW to start an angle or feud, with Y2J's promo about the future being interrupted. TAKA Michinoku defeating Sho Funaki was fine in the second of four quarter-final matches in this intriguing Light Heavyweight Open. TAKA and Funaki then shaking hands was interesting...leading to the formation of Kai En Tai, expectedly. I hope they achieve more than they did in real life, though. Up next, a big win for the Rock against the much larger Rikishi Phatu, in a decent match. Rock regained his momentum after the attack from the Ministry of Darkness on RAW is WAR last Monday. Hmm, a three-way tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championships could be set up from this, an interesting diverse twist, with D-Generation X being in this feud brewing between the Rock 'n' Sock Connection, and the Acolytes. DX having their time to shine was good. But where are the New Age Outlaws? Hopefully resurfacing on RAW is WAR tomorrow. Finally, a big promo to close the show with Vince McMahon in the ring, addressing RAW last Monday, and setting up the main event for Backlash...a rematch from RAW is WAR last Monday? Uhm. The Undertaker making a move to Greenwich is nice, and we have a potential home invasion for the McMahons, courtesy of the Ministry. A nice touch, and this could allow 'Taker to make a move on the WWF Championship scene, giving us a triple threat match as I said on the RAW review, for the WWF Championship. A good cliffhanger to prepare us for RAW tomorrow, which I anticipate reading. Overall, a decent show for the last two segments, the rest of the show was quite average or below average. Not a bad week of television, coming out of WrestleMania XV.

Heat - RVD winning the opener was the right call, I sense a push for him and am glad to hear it. Jarrett/RVD is a good little feud, a fan of that. Jericho/Daniels is a match I'd pay money to see but Jericho squashing him was for the best during this time period. KAIENTAI! Taka was kind of a big deal in the late 90's, good to see him win here. The main event ending in a DQ was probably a good move as it kept both men strong and like I said about Raw, a DX/Rock & Sock Connection feud for the belts is just some really good business. Show/Austin is probably the right call, but I'm loving what you're doing with The Undertaker. The line about taking "his head" was great. Looking forward to more! Good show.

WWF @ Long Island, NY - Nassau Coliseum - April 5, 1999 To open up RAW is WAR a video package highlight last week’s broadcast played, featuring the opening segment of Stone Cold Steve Austin addressing his WWF Championship victory at WrestleMania. The video skipped over to Sunday Night HeAT, where Mr. McMahon announced the Big Show as the number one contender. The Undertaker interrupted from the titantron, warning McMahon the Ministry was heading up to his home in Greenwich!
The pyro shoots off, hyping up the crown inside the Nassau Coliseum. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show, saying we’re in for one hell of a night. They inform us the McMahons have police stationed outside their home in Greenwich, waiting to arrest the Undertaker if he shows up! Footage from outside the McMahon Family Mansion is shown, confirming the fact that there is cops waiting for the Undertaker. Back in the arena, King says if the Undertaker knows what’s good for him, he wouldn’t dare step foot on the McMahon’s property! JR hyped up the action we’ll be seeing in the ring tonight, which includes Owen Hart and Andrew Martin teaming up to take on the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal of the Corporation; and World Tag Team Champion Mankind taking on D-Generation X member Triple H! Ross mentions we’ll have an update on Stone Cold Steve Austin after the brutal attack he suffered at the hands of the Ministry last night.
The theme of the Big Show played, the fans in Long Island booing the number one contender as he makes his way out into the ring. Show takes a microphone, saying he has a warning for the Undertaker, “If you mess with the McMahons, then you gotta deal with me!” Show says the Undertaker nor his Ministry of Darkness intimidates him, saying nobody on this earth can scare him! He vows if Undertaker dares to lay a finger on any of the McMahons, he’ll snap him in half like a twig. Show turns his attention to Stone Cold Steve Austin, telling him the WWF Championship is as good as his. He says Austin can’t beat him straight up, so every time they have stepped in the ring together he’s had to cheat to beat him! Show’s comments don’t set will with the WWF Champion, and his theme hits the arena! The fans go wild as “The Texas Rattlesnake” makes his way out to the ring, showing signs of the Ministry;s attack from last week. JR remarks we’ve got our update, saying Stone Cold is hurt but he doesn’t give a damn. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone, saying after last week he wants nothing more than to find the Undertaker, drag his sorry ass out to this ring, and stomp a mudhole in that sum of a bitch! The fans pop as he tells Big Show that might have to wait, because there’s no chance in hell he’s going to come out here and talk trash about Stone Cold Steve Austin without getting his ass whooped. Lawler seems shocked by Austin’s comments, saying it doesn’t even seem like he cares that the Undertaker is after Mr. McMahon’s family! Meanwhile, Show laughs at Austin, saying he would love to see him try and whoop his ass. He warns Austin he’s going to have one short title reign, because come Backlash he’s taking that title back to the Corporation. Austin says that’s cute, because there ain’t nobody tough enough to take this title away from him. He says he beat his ass last week, and he’s going to do it again come Backlash! The Big Show dares him to prove it, and Austin hits him with a right! It’s like deja vu from last week, the WWF Champion and number one contender are exchanging shots back and forth! Austin gets Show to stagger, and he bounces off the ropes, looking for the Lou Thez Press. Show catches him on the rebound, taking him down with a big boot. The fans jeer as Show lifts him up off the ground, dropping him with the Chokeslam! Show picks up the WWF Championship, raising it in the air as he stands tall over Stone Cold. RAW is WAR goes to a break as Show drops the title on the mat, exiting the ring.
Break
Back from the commercial break, we are introduced to a replay of the Big Show chokeslamming the WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In Mr. McMahon’s office, his son Shane is pacing back and forth, worried about what will happen if the Undertaker shows up at his home. He turns to his father, telling him this isn’t right. They shouldn’t be sitting here on their asses while Stephanie and mom are at home all alone. Vince tells him to calm down, saying the police are with them. If the Undertaker tries anything, he’ll be arrested on the spot. Shane says he has a feeling the police aren’t going to make a difference. Vince looks like he’s getting frustrated, but calms himself down and reminds Shane he needs to take care of Kane and Owen Hart tonight, and that’s what he needs to focus on. Shane agrees and heads out, the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal following him. As they leave, the Big Show walks in, and Vince scolds him, saying he needs to be focused on the Undertaker tonight, because he doesn’t give a damn about Stone Cold right now! Show assures Vince he’s already taken care of Austin, and he’s ready to cripple the Undertaker. Vince says he sures hope so, because he has a couple of jobs for him tonight. “I know the Jackyl and Al Snow are in the building tonight, you’re gonna find them, and you’re gonna find out what the Undertaker is up to.” Vince also says he’s taking on his brother, Kane, and he’ll do the Corporation two favors by taking him out! Shows tells him “with pleasure”, leaving McMahon a little more confident
Owen Hart & Andrew Martin def. The Big Boss Man & Steven Regal(w/Shane McMahon): This match came as a result of Owen Hart refusing to join the Corporation, choosing to help Kane and Andrew Martin in their fight against Shane McMahon. The Corporate Team were unsuccessful in gaining their revenge, as Owen forced Regal to tap out to the Sharpshooter.
The fans cheered as Owen Hart and “Test” celebrated their victory. The referee rose their hand, but they didn’t stand tall for long, as Boss Man and Regal made their next move. They attacked them from behind, knocking them to the mat. Boss Man stomped away at Test while Regal drilled Owen in the skull with some closed fists. Suddenly, Kane’s theme played, and “The Big Red Machine” made his way out to the ring. Shane told the Corporation to pack their bags and they split, escaping through the bottom rope. Shane stole a microphone from ringside before leaving, however, and they ran up the stage. He told Kane to calm down, saying it’s quite clear he wants a piece of Shane O’Mac. He promises Kane he’ll get him in this ring next week on RAW is WAR, but he’ll have to run the Corporate Gauntlet first! He’ll have to beat the Mean Street Posse, Steven Regal, and the Boss Man if he wants to get to him! Shane laughed as the Corporate Team left, Kane seemingly accepting the challenge by causing fire to shoot out from the ring posts!
Outside the McMahon Family Mansion cops are still awaiting the arrival of the Undertaker, ready to arrest him on sight!
Break
The inaugural WWF Backlash comes to you live on pay-per-view April 25th. Don’t miss the fallout from WrestleMania XV, as Stone Cold Steve Austin is scheduled to defend his WWF Championship against the Big Show in a No Disqualification match! Can “The Texas Rattlesnake” defeat the giant, or will Paul Wight bring the WWF title back to the Corporation?
Too Much made their way down to the ring, Light Heavyweight Champion Brian Christopher making his way down to the ring with a microphone in hand. He says he’s glad the WWF is finally bringing in some competition for them, but it’s not like it matters. Nobody can beat them! Christopher says they have beaten every single competitor put in front of them, so it’s not like a bunch of losers from the minor leagues can beat them! JR scuffs at his comment as Christopher continues, saying Taylor will prove their point right now when he beats some nobody they brought him from Japan!
Light Heavyweight Open Quarter Finals: Hayabusa def. Scott Taylor(w/Brian Christopher): Hayabusa was impressive in his debut tonight, and he was able to fight off interference from Brian Christopher multiple times. Eventually, he put Taylor down with a Falcon Arrow, securing the win.
Hayabusa celebrated his win, the fans approving his victory, and he was now the first of the new Light Heavyweights to defeat a WWF superstar. Christopher was furious on the outside, as it seems like he was counting on having to face his own tag team partner at the end of this.
The McMahon Family Mansion is shown once more, this time from the side. For a moment everything is calm, quiet, and you can hear crickets chirping, but suddenly a demonic laughter is heard. Once the laughter ceased, the Undertaker begins to speak! He calls McMahon foolish, saying he actually thought the police could keep him from getting to his family. He talks about the McMahons inside the house, calling them innocent. He says it’s a shame they will have to suffer as a result of Vince’s actions, but he says he warned McMahon this day would come. After a moment of silence, ‘Taker speaks again, warning “Once I’m finished with them, you’re next.” He laughs again as he heads towards the home and the feed cuts out, RAW is WAR heading to another commercial break.
Break
In Mr. McMahon’s office, Vince is on the phone as Shane sits in a chair, holding his head in his hands while shouting “WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO? WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO? WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?” Vince snaps at him, telling him to just stay calm. He begins speaking to someone on the phone, presumably the police outside his home. He barks order at them, telling them to get his family out of the home and to find that son of a bitch! After waiting for a response, he yells into the phone, “You’re gonna do your best? You better do your best, dammit! That’s my family! That bastard is going after my family! Get them out of there and find them!” Vince hangs up the phone, slamming it into his desk. Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco try to comfort the McMahons as the segment ends.
Ken Shamrock makes his way out to the ring as the announcers show us a replay of Shamrock attacking Val Venis last week, locking him in the Ankle Lock. It took two different groups of referees to pry Shamrock away from the Intercontinental Champion, and Lawler calls him a maniac who should be locked up!
Chris Jericho def. Ken Shamrock: JR revealed that Jericho had challenged Shamrock to this match, which the pugnacious superstar accepted. Towards the end of the bout, Val Venis made his way out with Ryan Shamrock on his arm. The two locked lips at ringside, sending Shamrock into that “zone”. Jericho capitalized on this, rolling him up for the three!
“Y2J” lived up to the promise he made on HeAT last night, as he had taken out one of the biggest and toughest superstars in the WWF! He wasted no time in bailing, however, and he quickly made his way up the entrance ramp following the win. Val and Ryan remained on the outside with smirks on their face, Shamrock trying to get to them, only to be held back by the official. Shamrock snapped, tossing the official to the mat! Val and Ryan quickly followed in Jericho’s footsteps while more referees came out to control Shamrock. “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” had completely gone off the deep edge, and he attacked every referee coming into the ring! He took a few down with punches before planting one with a belly to belly suplex. He grabbed one of the poor men by the ankle, trying to put him in the Ankle Lock! Security and staff members had to hit the ring, saving the referee from Shamrock. They forced him into the corner, trying to calm him down.
Break
Inside Mr. McMahon’s office, Vince is on the phone again, looking absolutely furious. “What do you mean you can’t find anybody? Do you know how to do your job?” After a few more seconds on the phone, he sarcastically thanks the person on the other line and hang up. Shane asks him what they said, and Vince looks crushed. He sighs and is at a lost for words, just looking at Shane until he can choke some out. “They got Stephanie and your mother away, but… they said they couldn’t find anybody. They couldn’t find anybody.” Shane asks him what does he mean, and Vince snaps at him again, shouting “THEY DIDN’T FIND ANYBODY, DAMMIT!” Shane asks how could that be, they just saw the Undertaker there! Vince responds with a faint “I don’t know” before putting his head down, what is really going on here?
A replay from Sunday Night HeAT is shown, where D-Generation X helped the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection fight off the Ministry of Darkness, only to turn around and blast the World Tag Team Champions with their finishers!
WWF World Tag Team Champion Mankind(w/The Rock) def. Triple H(w/DX) VIA DQ: Much to the annoyance of the Rock, Mankind had drawn all over his shirt, trying to make it look like one of the Rock’s shirts in an attempt to make them look more like a team. In the end, Mankind pulled out Mr. Rocko and applied the Mandible Claw to Hunter, but Waltman ran in the ring and took him down with a superkick!
The capacity crowd in Long Island booed as D-Generation X laid into Mankind, the Rock trying to help his partner, only to get hit by a low blow from Chyna! Rock fell to the floor, allowing Hunter and Waltman to continue their assault on Mankind. Waltman ripped Mr. Rocko off his hand, tossing the sock to the floor. Triple H picked Mankind up from the mat, kicking him in the gut and setting him up for the Pedigree. Shockingly, the Acolytes ran out to the ring, we thought they were in Greenwich! Bradshaw brawled with Triple H as Faarooq went after Waltman, the two teams from the rival factions going at it! The Rock ‘N’ Sock tried getting back into the fight when the New Age Outlaws ran out to the ring, getting a huge pop from the crowd! They went after DX, Road Dogg taking Triple H out of the ring with a clothesline. Meanwhile, Faarooq and Waltman fought to the outside while the tag champs dumped Bradshaw from the ring. Mankind went to the outside to pick up Mr. Rocko, and Rock told him DX was doing him a favor. Rock bumped into Billy Gunn and the two had a staredown, DX retreating after Chyna helped Waltman push Faarooq into the steel ring post. Mankind and Road Dogg got back into the ring and the tag champs had a standoff with the Outlaws, the challengers are just lining up for the Rock and Mankind!
Meanwhile, back in the Corporate locker room, the McMahons look on in shock. Vince starts to yell, hollering about how the Acolytes weren’t supposed to be here.Gerald Brisco says they knew the Jackyl and Snow were here for the Hardcore match, so it’s possible the Acolytes were with them the entire time. Shane suggests that maybe the Undertaker was just playing games with them the entire time, and they have been in the building the entire time. Vince says they saw the Undertaker at their house before stopping mid-sentence, the segment fading to black.
Break
Backstage Kevin Kelly catches up with the New Age Outlaws, who had just made their claim for the Rock ‘N’ Sock’s WWF World Tag Team Championships. He asked them about their involvement in the brawl we just saw, and Road Dogg takes the microphone. He says it’s quite simple because even though they finally defeated D-Generation X at WrestleMania, there’s not a shot in hell they will let them become the WWF Tag Team Champions. He adds that it’s also been too long since the Outlaws have held the titles themselves, and if Rock ‘N’ Sock accept their challenge, their gonna do it diggy doggy style! Billy Gunn chimes in, saying they are the greatest tag team in the World Wrestling Federation today and nobody can prove them wrong. Not the Acolytes, not Rock ‘N’ Sock, and certainly not the DX! He vows the Outlaws will take the tag titles back soon enough, even if they have to get nasty! Road Dogg chuckles and the two walk off before we head back into the arena.
As Hardcore Champion Steve Blackman makes his entrance for the Hardcore title match, a replay is shown of Rhyno defeating him with a Gore last week.
Hardcore Championship: Steve Blackman def. Al Snow(w/The Jackyl) to RETAIN: After Blackman’s loss to Rhyno last week, there was doubts he could get the job done in this WrestleMania rematch. He proved the doubters wrong and defeated his former tag partner once again, avoiding a shot from Head and connecting with the Lethal Kick for the three.
The fans cheered as Blackman celebrated, “The Lethal Weapon” successful in his first title defense here tonight on RAW is WAR. Suddenly, Rhyno hit the ring, driving the champion to the mat with another Gore! The fans jeered as Rhyno stood over the champion with a smirk over his face. He turned his attention over to Snow, waiting for him to get up. He stalked him for a moment before making his move, hitting him with a Gore as well! Snow rolled to the outside while Rhyno left the ring with a smirk on his face, As he left the ring and headed up the entrance ramp, the Big Show made his way down, the two locking eyes briefly until they went their separate ways. With Al Snow down, Show went after the Jackyl, tossing him into the ring. He grabbed him by the throat, hoisting him up in the air. He demanded to know what the Undertaker was really up to, but he refused to speak. Show walked him over to the ropes, holding him over the top and above the floor! It was a long way down for the Jackyl and Show asked him what the Undertaker was up to one more time. He still refused to talk, and out of frustration, Show dropped him to the outside! Jackyl landed on top of Snow and Show left the ring, disappointed and angry he couldn’t get the Jackyl to speak up.

Back from the commercial break, the broadcast abruptly goes backstage where “Double J” Jeff Jarrett and the Mean Street Posse are beating on Rob Van Dam! It’s a four-on-one assault, and Van Dam is helpless to the attacks. Debra cheers on as the Posse holds him up, allowing Jarrett to drill into his skull with some rights. Suddenly, the Dudley Boyz appear, coming to Van Dam’s rescue! Jarrett and Debra scram as the former tag champs take care of the Posse. Bubba Ray throws Rodney into the wall while D-Von smashes Pete Gas’ head into a crate. Joey Abs tries to get the jump on D-Von, but Bubba yanks him off, before sending him through a nearby table! The Posse is out as the Dudleyz help RVD to his feet, it seems like Van Dam is certainly not alone in his fight against the Corporation!
Best of Five Series: The Hardy Boyz def. The Brood(w/Gangrel): The Hardy Boyz were able to even the score 1-1 tonight as Jeff pinned Christian after a Swanton Bomb.
The Hardys celebrate their victory, as they have now tied the series up at one win apiece. Edge and Gangrel meet back up with Christian in the ring, disappointed in the loss.
In the catering area Mark Henry is grabbing some food when WWF Women’s Champion Ivory approaches him, bringing a smile to his face. Ivory thanks him for looking out for her last week, and suggests he could be at ringside for her match, if he wants. The fans pop as Mark agrees, and it seems like he’s going to ask her a question, but European Champion D-Lo Brown walks in and cuts him off. He apologizes to Ivory, the Women’s Champion not giving him a reaction. Brown tries to reason that what he did last week was an accident, and he was trying to hit Goldust. He turns to Mark Henry, saying they are “Sexual Chocolate” and “Mr. Charisma”, and they need to stick as a team! Henry tells him they can be a team, but says D-Lo needs to change his ways, because he’s done with that kind of stuff. He walks off with Ivory, leaving the European Champion furious. JR reminds us Ivory is in action next, and King gets excited.
Break
As Women’s Champion Ivory makes her entrance, accompanied by Mark Henry and Sable, the WWF Slam of the Week plays, showing D-Lo Brown knocking her out with the European Championship last week on RAW.
Non-title; Women’s Champion Ivory(w/Mark Henry & Sable) def. Luna Vachon(w/Jacqueline): During this match, whenever Ivory started to mount offense, Sable would grind in order to get the crowd’s attention. Ivory was able to score another victory over PMS this week, putting Luna down for the three with Poison Ivy.
The fans popped as Ivory was handed her Women’s Championship, Sable looking jealous that the fans had turned their attention back to her. She left ringside as the Pretty Mean Sisters got back in the ring, attacking Ivory from behind! Mark Henry tried to climb into the ring, only for D-Lo Brown to run out and hit him with a low blow! Mark slowly fell to the floor, landing on his knees. “Mr. Charisma” took his European Championship, smacking Mark in the skull with it! Meanwhile, PMS stomped away at Ivory as D-Lo entered the ring, telling them to lift her up. It looked like he was going to hit her with the European Championship again, but the theme of Goldust played over the PA System. “The Bizarre One” chased Brown and PMS off, the heels retreating up the rampway. Ivory rolled to the outside and helped Mark up to his feet, and Goldust never took his eyes off the European Champion.
We are taken to Mr. McMahon’s office one last time, where Paul Wight, Big Boss Man, and Steven Regal were all standing by with the McMahons. Both Regal and Boss Man said they had looked all over the arena, but neither of them could find a member of the Ministry. The Big Show told them he was going to go out there and destroy Kane, for Shane, and then he’s going to call out the Undertaker and see if he’s really in Greenwich, or if he’s in the arena. Vince told him no, saying the Undertaker wouldn’t show for him. He says the only person the Undertaker would show up for is himself, so he’ll be at ringside with him. Nobody said a word as Vince told Show to leave with him, the main event is up next!
Break
Backstage Tori approached Sable, reminding her she’s her biggest fan, but asked why she left Ivory when she was being attacked by PMS. Sable snubbed her, not even looking at her before walking off. Tori was heartbroken as her idol had completely ignored her, but now the question on everybody’s mind was what has gotten into Sable?
After both the Big Show and Kane made their entrances for the main event, the glass shattered, causing the crowd to explode. Stone Cold stormed out to the ringside area, telling Jim Ross that if the Undertaker shows his face, his ass is his!
The Big Show(w/Mr. McMahon) vs. Kane ends in a No Contest: Throughout this match, the Big Show continuously taunted Austin. Eventually, the WWF Champion snapped, and he attacked the number one contender!
For the third time in a week, Stone Cold and the Big Show were going at it in the center of the ring! The fans in Long Island were on the edge of their feet as they continued to brawl, even after Mr. McMahon made his way into the ring. He tried to get them to stop, but the fight soon went to the outside. McMahon watched helplessly as Kane walked up behind him. McMahon turned around and met Kane face to face, the boss was practically shaking as “The Big Red Machine” towered over him. Shockingly, Kane started to take off his mask, revealing it was really the Undertaker! Vince was horrified as ‘Taker laughed at him, Austin and Show ceasing their fight once they noticed the Undertaker was in the ring. ‘Taker told Vince “She’s mine” as he realized Rikishi Phatu was the only Ministry member not to be seen tonight. He asked ‘Taker where was Rikishi and where was his family, only getting a smirk from “The Lord of Darkness.” Meanwhile, both Austin and Show lunged at ‘Taker, but the lights went out! When they came back on, the Undertaker was gone, leaving both Austin and Show confused. RAW is WAR went off the air as Austin and Show were livid that ‘Taker escaped, while McMahon had been brought to his knees!

Decent enough show to continue the build to Backlash. Seems like you're really dipping into Russo territory now, especially with Undertaker at Vince's house. naturally I'm curious to see what happens next week with Vince's famlily, so that's one plus of that booking style. Most of the storylines were advanced nicely but I'm not 100% sold on The big Show getting the next pay-per-view title shot, especially after Austin already pinned him the previous week, title shot or not. Maybe if that match had ended in a schmozz it would have made sense. Overall a nice episode, keep up the good work!

WWF @ East Lansing, MI - April 11, 1999 After the signature Sunday Night HeAT intro, pyro shoots off in the ring as Michael Cole and Jim Cornette welcome us to the show, live from East Lansing! Cole explains Shane’s absence, saying he is not on commentary tonight because of a family issue. He confirms that the Ministry of Darkness has in fact kidnapped his sister, Stephanie McMahon, this past Monday. How the Ministry evaded the cops is unknown, but we are expected to hear from Mr. McMahon tonight. As for the in-ring action, they hype up the New Age Outlaws taking on the Acolytes; the Light Heavyweight Open continuing with Rey Mysterio and Scorpio doing battle one more time; and in the main event Stone Cold will get a shot at revenge against one of the Ministry members, as he takes on Rikishi Phatu!
After Cole and Cornette are finished talking, Mr. McMahon’s theme hits and the boss makes his way out to the ring. He is all alone and he practically drags his feet down the ramp. Upon entering the ring, he grabs a microphone and begins to speak. He asks the fans in attendance for their compassion for just one night, because his daughter Stephanie was kidnapped by the Undertaker. He says ‘Taker has gone too far this time, adding that he really believe he’s this creature that was created. He says Undertaker needs to come back down to reality, and the reality is he’s a sick son of a bitch who kidnapped his daughter. He tells the Undertaker to come out and get him, because he is who he really wants. He says Stephanie is innocent and she needs to be left out of this. “I don’t care what I have to do. I just want her back, dammit!” McMahon waits for a moments, still no sign of the Undertaker. Eventually, the lights go out and the Ministry’s theme plays, the arena turning blue just like last week. Also like last week, the Undertaker appears on the titantron sitting on his throne rather than appearing in the arena. He laughs at McMahon, saying it’s amusing to him to see Vince on his knees, begging with him. He tells Vince he needed to be humbled, and he needed to be punish for all of his transgressions. Meanwhile, we can hear Stephanie McMahon screaming in the background, calling out for help. Vince raises the microphone again, saying “You bastard! You bastard! Let her go! This is between you and me. If it’s me you want, then come out here and get me. If it’s a title shot you want, fine. You can have it. I’ll put you in the match with Austin and Big Show, I don’t care. Just give me my daughter back.” Undertaker laughs at him again, saying he’s just not going to give her up like that. He says the only way she’ll let her go is once she becomes one with the Ministry, once she accepts “The Lord of Darkness” as her personal savior! Vince screams at him, saying he already has his title match. He tells the Undertaker this isn’t about business anymore, even if that’s what he wants to say. He tells ‘Taker he has made this personal; he’ll get his daughter back, and the Ministry will pay for what they’ve done! ‘Taker doesn’t seem threatened by McMahon in the least, saying it’s clear he would give his own very soul to stop him. He says there’s not a damn thing McMahon to stop him now, because he’ll only stop once he’s had his vengeance! Before McMahon can say anymore, Undertaker disappears from the titantron and the arena turns back to normal. Vince is left alone in the ring, looking lost and broken. HeAT goes to a commercial break, leaving us with the question of if a title match isn’t good enough for the Undertaker, what will get him to release Stephanie?
Break
Back from the commercial, Michael Cole and Jim Cornette talk about what we just saw between the Undertaker and Mr. McMahon. McMahon tried to bargain with the Undertaker in order for him to release Stephanie, inserting him into the WWF Championship match at Backlash with Stone Cold and the Big Show. ‘Taker still refused, telling Vince the only way he’d let her go is if she accepts “The Lord of Darkness” as her personal savior! Back live, Cole confirms that the Undertaker is in the WWF Championship match for Backlash, two weeks from tonight on pay-per-view.
The New Age Outlaws def. The Acolytes(w/The Jackyl) VIA DQ: During this match, it was announced these two teams, along with D-Generation X, would challenge the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection for the WWF Tag Team Championships at Backlash. It seemed like the Jackyl was more focused on harming the Outlaws tonight, as he ordered his men to assault them with steel chairs, causing the DQ.
The fans booed as the Acolytes continued their assault, Faarooq driving a chair into Billy Gunn’s Spine as Bradshaw started to choke Road Dogg out with his boot. Bradshaw backed off for a moment and waited for James to get up, putting him back down with a Clothesline from Hell. He kicked him from the ring as Faarooq dragged Gunn to the center of the ring. He opened the steel chair a little bit, wrapping it around Gunn’s throat! He held him down as Bradshaw came over, stepping down on the chair! The referee ordered the Acolytes out of the ring, the duo refusing until the Jackyl told them to do the same. The referee checked on Gunn, who was holding his throat, and called for a doctor.

Break
A video package plays to hype the upcoming triple threat match at Backlash for the WWF Championship between Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Big Show, and the Undertaker. It begins with Stone Cold defeating the Undertaker to regain the championship at WrestleMania, and ‘Taker attacking Vince with the Chokeslam. The rest of the video is spent highlighting the interactions between all three men in the past two weeks, which includes the many brawls between Wight and Austin, the Ministry hanging Stone Cold, and Undertaker disguising himself as his brother, Kane, to get to Mr. McMahon and inform him he kidnapped Stephanie.
In the trainer’s office Billy Gunn is being checked on by the trainer. Road Dogg is standing by as Kevin Kelly tries to get a word with the trainer about Gunn’s condition, but James chases him out of the room before he can get an answer.
Light Heavyweight Open Quarter Finals: Rey Mysterio def. Scorpio: In the last Quarter Final match of the Light Heavyweight Open, Rey Mysterio and Scorpio looked to settle their feud once and for all. Mysterio was able to grab the victory with a Hurricanrana, securing a spot in the Semifinals.
Rey Mysterio is announced as the winner to cheers, and Michael Cole confirms that he will compete on RAW is WAR tomorrow night against Hayabusa in the Semifinals of the Light Heavyweight Open. Meanwhile, in the ring, Mysterio helps Scorpio up to his feet, and the two shake hands. For the second week in the row, Light Heavyweights show each other respect after a hard fought match, much to the contrast of superstars like Too Much and Tajiri.
Backstage Mankind is wheeling a birthday cake, reading Happy Birthplace Mr. Socko, down a corridor. He’s up next on Sunday Night HeAT!
Break
As we return, Michael Cole is in the ring, and he welcomes us to the show before introducing the World Tag Team Champions, the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection! The fans in attendance explode as the tag champs make their way out, Mankind, still in the shirt he painted all over, wheeling the cake down the ramp. Balloons and confetti being to fall from the ceiling, covering the arena. Mankind tries to get the Rock to help him get the cake in the ring, but he refuses. He calls over Cole instead, or helps him lift it off the cart and place it onto a table inside the ring. The tag champs enter the ring and Cole asks Foley to explain everything that’s going on. He explains that Mr. Socko, or Mr. Rocko as he goes by now, was born right here in East Lansing! The fans cheer as he says in honor of returning to his birthplace, he decided to host a party in his honor. He asks all of the fans, and the Rock, to help him in singing “Happy Birthplace” to Mr. Socko. All of the fans join in as he begins to sing, but Rock just stand there, raising the People’s Eyebrow at Foley. After the song is over, Cole asks the team if he can get their thoughts on having to defend their championships in a Four Corners match against DX, the Acolytes, and the Outlaws at Backlash in two weeks time. Mankind interrupts him, saying before carrying on further, he’d like to congratulate Al Snow on his sponsorship deal with La-Z-Boy, which is odd because he normally doesn’t sell chairs! The Rock takes the microphone next, faking Cole out before letting out a big smile. The fans cheer as he begins to speak, “The Rock says he knew jabroni after jabroni would line up trying to take these titles away from him and Mankind. The fact is there ain’t two people on god’s green earth who could go two on two with the Great One and the crazy son of a bitch standing next to him. The Acolytes? They got their roody poo candy asses handed to them courtesy of the Rock ‘N’ Sock at WrestleMania already. The Outlaws? The Rock says ‘Mr. Ass’ can pucker up his lips and kiss the People’s Champion’s ass, because there is no way - AND THE ROCK MEANS NO WAY - those two can beat them. As for DX…” Mankind cuts him off, reminding everyone Socko was born while he was feuding with DX! Rock tells him to never cut the Rock off again or else he’ll stick that sock puppet straight up his candy ass! Before the tag champs can say more, the theme of D-Generation X blares, Hunter and Waltman making their way out to the ring with Chyna. Waltman turns to Triple H, saying what they’re looking at in the ring ring now is pathetic. Rock steps in, telling him if they are going to address the Rock and Mankind they better look them in the eyes. “Secondly, tell her, or he, or it to stop giving the Rock that stupid look.” Chyna steps towards him, but is held back by Waltman. Hunter speaks next, telling the Rock he can crack all the jokes he wants. The only real jokes here are them two, and come Backlash they plan on taking the World Tag Team Championships back to D-Generation X and the Corporation. Hunter looks at Mankind, saying he’s glad he brought up Mr. Socko being created while Foley was facing with DX. “DX was the reason he was born, and now DX is going to kill him!” Mankind doesn’t allow him to act on the threat, socking him (pun intended) with a right! Rock brawls with Waltman and the two teams go back and forth. Eventually, the tag champs are able to dump the challengers to the outside, but Chyna attacks Rock from behind. She hits him with a chop block, unaware Mankind has picked up a piece of the cake with Socko. He turns her around, Socko stuffing a piece of cake in her face! The fans pop as Chyna is disgusted, having no time to react as Rock gets back up, planting her with the Rock Bottom! Foley picks up the microphone, saying “If ya smellllll what the Sock is cooking!” before throwing pieces of cake into the crowd! HeAT goes to a break as Mankind and Socko continue to throw cake in the crowd.
Break A replay is shown of the Mr. Socko’s Birthplace Party, where D-Generation X interrupted and tried to “kill” Socko. The Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection were able to fight them off, and Mankind even stuff a piece of cake in Chyna’s face! Rock hit her with the Rock Bottom as Mankind and Socko started to throw pieces of cake into the crowd.
“No Chance in Hell” plays again, this time it’s Shane McMahon making his way out to the ring. He has a microphone and warns the Undertaker he will not get off easy for what he’s done to his sister and his entire family. He says if ‘Taker is man enough to ever show his face in the WWF again, Shane O’ Mac and the Corporation will be waiting, ready to teach him a lesson! He turns his attention to Undertaker’s brother, Kane. He says tomorrow night the Corporation will make an example out of “The Big Red intellectually- disabled person” in the Corporate Gauntlet. He says if Kane wants a piece of him he’ll need to go through the Mean Street Posse, Steven Regal, and Big Boss Man! He promises if Kane somehow, someway, he manages to beat all of the Corporation members single handedly, he will not survive to tell the tale of when he went up against Shane O’ Mac! “If he could actually speak that is.” He smirks before continuing, saying tonight Kane will get a little taste of tomorrow night when he takes on the Mean Street Posse in a three-on-one handicap match! Shane introduces the Posse, not wanting to stick around when Kane gets here.
Kane def. The Mean Street Posse: This match may have been a handicap match for the Mean Street Posse, rather than “The Big Red Machine”. Kane made short work of the Posse, eventually hitting all three with the Chokeslam being pinning Rodney after the Tombstone.
The fans are red hot after seeing Kane dismantle the Posse with such ease. He sets off fire from all four corner of the ring posts before leaving the ring, and it seems like Shane McMahon’s plan of softening up Kane before the Corporate Gauntlet didn’t pan out so well.
Up next is our main event, Stone Cold Steve Austin gets a shot at revenge against the Ministry as he battles Rikishi Phatu!
Break
Before our main event begins, after Rikishi Phatu and Stone Cold Steve Austin have made their entrances, Shane McMahon leads all of the Corporation out to the entrance stage to watch the match. Austin snickered and flipped Shane off before going after Rikishi, officially starting our main event!
Non-title; WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin def. Rikishi Phatu(w/The Jackyl): Tonight didn’t go as well for Rikishi as it did the Acolytes, because the WWF Champion picked up the win after connecting with the Stunner!
Stone Cold didn’t bother to celebrate his win, choosing to rather invite the Corporation down to the ring! Shane told his men now was their chance to take out both Stone Cold and a member of the Ministry, leading all six of the Corporate superstars down the ramp. As they entered the ring, they split into two, with Big Show and D-Generation X going after Stone Cold while Jarrett, Boss Man, and Regal attacked Rikishi. Both of the superstars did their best to fight off the onslaught, but the numbers game was too much. Waltman hit Austin with a spinning heel kick, allowing Big Show to drop him with the Chokeslam for the second time this week! The WWF Champion was down as Show continued to stomp away at him, wanting to inflict as much pain as possible before Backlash. Meanwhile, Boss Man slid to the outside, nailing the Jackyl with his nightstick! The Jackyl was out cold as Shane told all of his men to interrogate Rikishi, already knowing that Jackyl wouldn’t talk. Big Show and Regal held him up as Shane slapped him in the face, asking where Stephanie was. Much like the Jackyl, he refused to talk, prompting Boss Man to step in and wail on him with the nightstick! Shane tried to get him to talk again, to no use, so Boss Man continued the attack. Once they realized he wouldn’t talk either, Show and Regal dumped him from the ring. Sunday Night HeAT went off the air as the Corporate Team left, they have certainly proven to Stone Cold, Rikishi, and everyone else that they may be more dangerous than ever.

4/11/99 Edition: STEPHANIE MCMAHON KIDNAPPED BY THE UNDERTAKER; LAST MAN STANDING MATCH CONFIRMED FOR BACKLASH; WWF TO GET EXTREME? -It was a rather eventful week for the WWF, as THE UNDERTAKER and his MINISTRY OF DARKNESS broke into the McMahon’s home and kidnapped their daughter, STEPHANIE. In the first hour of the show, the Undertaker sent a message from their family mansion, revealing that Vince’s family was going to suffer. After the message was sent, members of the Ministry started to show up, much to the confusion of everybody involved. At the end of the show, Undertaker disguised himself as KANE to get to McMahon, revealing he was actually in the arena the whole time. McMahon quickly figured out that every single member of the Ministry was there that night, except for one in RIKISHI PHATU. ‘Taker laughed and confirmed Rikishi had kidnapped Stephanie, bringing McMahon to his knees. On Sunday Night HeAT, Vince put Undertaker in the WWF Championship match at Backlash, trying to bargain with “The Lord of Darkness.” SHANE MCMAHON had other plans, as he decided to rally up the CORPORATION and beat information about Stephanie out of Rikishi. Neither man was successful, but both segments were revealing. There was a contrast in styles between the McMahons, leaving many to believe we may see a storyline of sort starting with Vince and Shane constantly clashing over how to run the Corporation.
-A couple of huge matches were confirmed for Backlash in two weeks as well. First off, as we already stated, the Undertaker has been added into the WWF Championship match between STONE COLD and THE BIG SHOW. It is said officials decided to add the Undertaker into this match, because the main focus of the program right now is the ongoing battle between Stone Cold and the WWF Superstars, the Ministry, and the Corporation. Officials wanted a triple threat match at some point between all three groups, and with the plans for the summer, Backlash was the most appropriate time to do so. Another match confirmed on Sunday Night HeAT was that of THE ROCK ‘N’ SOCK CONNECTION defending the WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS against THE ACOLYTES, THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS, and D-GENERATION X in a FOUR CORNERS MATCH. The match between VAL VENIS and KEN SHAMROCK for the INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP has already been announced, but we here at THE BATTLEGROUND can confirm it has been changed into a LAST MAN STANDING MATCH.
-In recent weeks, following WRESTLEMANIA XV, ROB VAN DAM has found himself teaming up with THE DUDLEY BOYZ on multiple occasions to fight McMahon’s Corporation. Seeing as all three men are ECW alumni, rumors have been swirling around the net about another possible ECW INVASION to battle the Corporation. Of course, these are just rumours, but why should we really deny them? In recent weeks, other ECW talent such as RHYNO, YOSHIHIRO TAJIRI, and SUPER CRAZY have all made their debuts on WWF television. We all know the WWF has been working with ECW for years now, and we’ve already had an invasion back in 1997. A big tag team match pitting the Corporation against ECW could make some money, and Vince McMahon would never turn down an opportunity to make money.
-In are some recent house show results, as the WWF toured GERMANY, ENGLAND, and the UNITED STATES…

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 5th April 1999...A decent angle, was the Ministry of Darkness invading the McMahon home on RAW in 1999. Let's see if there's anything different to it? A decent promo with the Big Show in the ring firstly, talking about Stone Cold Steve Austin and putting over his upcoming match for the WWF Championship with Austin at Backlash. A little brawl wasn't bad, but I'm not sure if it was too necessary, honestly. Eh, Austin is a chaotic cat, it works. Nice to see Paul Wight getting the better of Austin for a change, anyway. I do sort of think that Wight's been made to look a little weak already, though honestly. I see that the Undertaker putting fear into the heart of Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon has driven the Corporation to desperate measures - particularly taking out Kane. Not gonna happen! Well, maybe. Owen Hart and Andrew Martin getting the win against the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal was fine; I'd like to see Regal getting a bit more offense in though. He doesn't deserve to be so low down on the card, I don't think. I like that "Test" is being used as a nickname. It gives Martin a little bit more personality. Kane then being put into a Corporate Gauntlet is nice; I don't really see Kane being able to get his hands on Shane McMahon though; I imagine that shenanigans will occur, leading to Kane finally getting his hands on Shane at Backlash, perhaps. I wonder if we could see some interaction between Kane and the Ministry of Darkness in the near future...interesting. Too Much up next, a decent win for...Hayabusa? I'm not sure how I'm able to react to Hayabusa being in the World Wrestling Federation. Fair decision, I suppose. I can't picture him being in the WWF for too long, though honestly. Could we get an update on the brackets for this Light Heavyweight Open tournament? It'd be cool to see or even know who is facing who in the second round. More cryptic promos from the Undertaker for Vince McMaon, leading to McMahon freaking out and trying to get help for Linda and Stephanie McMahon. Chris Jericho and Ken Shamrock would have been a good match saved for a feud or a pay-per-view; but the unclean finish leaves room for a potential rematch down the line, in the form of a feud. I was sad that these two never fought at Unforgiven 1999. Jericho gets a good rub from defeating Shamrock, and Val Venis gains more heat, as we continue to progress into Backlash, where Venis and Shamrock will most likely meet for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. I liked Shamrock's anger getting the better of him, and he managed to get his heat back. I wouldn't be objected to Y2J getting a little more involved in this feud, honestly. Hmm, maybe V ince McMahon is paranoid. Interesting mind-games from the Ministry. A good first-hour main event with hopeful future rivals, Triple H and Mankind, as they resumed this very busy three-way feud over the WWF Tag Team Championships between the Acolytes, the Rock 'n' Sock Connection and D-Generation X. Oh wow, and now the New Age Outlaws are here as well! I like the ordering of these segments, by the way; making it seem like Bradshaw and Faarooq weren't in Greenwich after the Ministry of Darkness segments, earlier on. Way to mindf*ck Vince McMahon. This could culminate in a big-time four-corner elimination match at Backlash - I would not object. It is strange however, to see so many uppercarders involved with the WWF Tag Team Championship division. Up next, Steve Blackman getting the victory against Al Snow was fine, to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship. I'm surprised that Rhyno only came in after the match to give Blackman a Gore, and not try to during. It just struck me as a bit weird. The Big Show returning to try and interrogate the Jackyl about the Undertaker his Ministry's location was a nice little mesh-in of superstars. I wouldn't mind a match or two between Show and Rhyno. Ha, Jeff Jarrett and the Mean Street Posse attacked Rob Van Dam. That's amusing, as they are unable to get onto the card for RAW is WAR yet again. The Dudley Boyz making the save was nice, but D-Von and Bubba Ray will hopefully move on from this one-dimensional feud with the Posse soon. This will guarantee a six-man tag team/three-on-four handicap match down the line. The Hardy Boys getting a win against the Brood was fine, not a lot of details for this one, which is strange. This sort of strikes me as being Sunday Night HeAT worthy, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the card. I also bet that the Best of Five Series will include so many short matches, given their little priority points here on RAW. Another problem that I have is that this is practically in the same position as it was last week; like the tag team division at the moment taking up the first-hour main event every week: switch up the format a bit more, maybe. Focus the opening promos on other matters or matches or something, et cetera. Either way, I assume that Edge and Christian will meet Jeff and Matt Hardy at Backlash or something. Still curious if you're going for the first-ever tag team ladder match approach. Pretty late in the show for a setup for a match; but nonetheless, slightly confusing scenario with Mark Henry, D-Lo Brown and Ivory. Oh well. I'd have maybe put this segment on earlier in the show, to show some longevity. Ivory defeating Luna Vachon was fine, as it put Ivory over more as a credible WWF Women's Champion. I liked that Sable signalled jealousy, which can lead to a potentially decent feud down the line somewhere. Hmm, wasn't keen on the messy situation after that. So, Ivory will feud with Sable at some point - but the Pretty Mean Sisters want to get their hands on her first? And then Mark Henry tried to make the save...for D-Lo Brown to turn on Henry? And THEN Goldust makes the save. Very baffled by this segment. I wonder how Terri Runnels reacted to her ex-husband Goldust's appearance. Didn't like the clustered aftermath to this one, but it did the job I guess. Divide the WWF European Championship and WWF Women's Championship storylines, I recommend. I could see D-Lo and Mark having a nice story going forward...but D-Lo's heel turn was half-assed and didn't do a great deal for me. Wasn't as effective as it could have been. And so Tori is here, obsessing over a jealous Sable...it's strange, it seems like you have a long-term plan for the women's division, but at the same time, a short-term plan. Makes for slightly confusing booking. And lastly, a match between the Big Show and Kane - first encounter, no? I'd have promoted this match a bit more, honestly. A nice call by having it end in a no contest, perhaps setting up a future feud down the road, maybe. Stone Cold Steve Austin making the revenge interference on Paul Wight was good, exacting revenge from earlier. Ha, so of all members, Rikishi Phatu ended up in Greenwich, Connecticut. Surprised to see Kane as the Undertaker; big 1998-style swerve, there! I liked Austin and Show sort of pledging against the Ministry of Darkness, and I can definitely 'Taker being added to the WWF Championship match at Backlash, with blackmail and kidnapping Linda and Stephanie McMahon, of course. Overall, a damn fine show in terms of storytelling for the main angle. Everything else was either acceptable, or booked quite messy. I'd make amends to that, at least mild changes (given that this is the Attitude Era in 1999).
WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 11th April 1999...Vince McMahon kicking off the show was the right decision, especially after the cliffhanger that ended RAW is WAR this past Monday night. McMahon calling out the Undertaker was nice, especially for 'Taker to symbolically appear on the TitanTron in his throne. Undertaker having Stephanie McMahon in his possession was nice, keeping McMahon hostage from her family. Either this will lead to the infamous Unholy Wedding angle, or adding the Undertaker to the WWF Championship match at Backlash - most likely both. The New Age Outlaws defeating the Acolytes was fine, as the Outlaws needed some momentum in their first match since WrestleMania XV. I liked the disqualification finish, however, and all of this led to a brawl, perhaps to build some foundation for a link between the Outlaws and Acolytes, potentially to set up the four-corner elimination match that could happen at Backlash, and give the Outlaws a reason to be included with it. I'm looking forward to seeing where the WWF Tag Team Championships go from here. I can't see the Rock 'n' Sock Connection holding onto the gold for too long, given that Rock is scheduled for a good push down the line. Ah yes, SmackDown! debuts in a couple of weeks, wondering what that is like. I wonder if you go with a one-off special, or the mere debut of the weekly series. Given that McMahon hyped it in a promo two months prior to its' debut, I'd say the latter. Oh no, hope Billy Gunn is alright. Rey Mysterio Jr defeating Scorpio was fine, as Scorpio is a little past it in this tenure within the World Wrestling Federation, in my opinion. I could see Mysterio winning this Light Heavyweight Open, really. Hmm, more for the Rock and Mankind in the Rock 'n' Sock Connection: this episode of HeAT is dominated by the tag team division, it seems. I liked the promo a lot, and as anticipated, we have the four-corner match for the WWF Tag Team Championship booked out. It's hard to predict who could win - maybe Rock and Mankind, but I could also see D-Generation X win it. Either way, I can see Rock and Triple H feuding into the summer, potentially. A nice brawl with Triple H and Sean Waltman, too. Amusing happy ending with Rock getting in his catchphrase, by any event. Kane defeating the Mean Street Posse was obvious, and the Corporate Gauntlet should be interesting tomorrow night on RAW is WAR. And lastly, a good win for the WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin against Rikishi Phatu, although it did slightly kill all momentum Rikishi gained from kidnapping Stephanie McMahon from the McMahon home last Monday. Last but not least, I liked the Corporation getting involved and taking out Rikishi, the Jackyl and Stone Cold to end the show, giving them some lost momentum from RAW. Overall, a decent show, but I'm not sure how it would have worked in fitting into a forty-five minute frame, maybe too much on one one-hour show. But an eventful week of WWF television. I'm still excited as to what is next for the build for Backlash.

I wonder how Terri Runnels reacted to her ex-husband Goldust's appearance. Just a little note here, as of now PMS is just Jacqueline and Luna, but that could change in the near future. And since you asked so nicely, updated brackets for the Light Heavyweight Open are: Semifinials: Rey Mysterio vs. Hayabusa Semifinials: Super Crazy vs. TAKA Michinoku Finals: Rey Mysterio/Hayabusa vs. Super Crazy/TAKA Michinoku

WWF @ Detroit, MI - Joe Louis Arena - April 12, 1999 At the top of the show, a video package plays, highlighting RAW is WAR last week. It primarily focuses on the Undertaker/McMahon saga, with the Ministry of Darkness threatening to break into the McMahon’s family mansion Cops were shown outside the mansion all night, ready to arrest the Undertaker on sight. After a match between Hayabusa and Scott Taylor, Undertaker delivered a warning from McMahon’s home, saying his family would suffer for his actions. As the night on, the cops said there was no sign of the Ministry being at their home, and suddenly Ministry members started to show up one by one at the arena. Big Show interrogated the Jackyl on what was going, but he refused to speak. Later in the show, during the main event between Big Show and Kane, Kane cornered Mr. McMahon while Show was brawling with Austin. Kane removes his mask, revealing it was really the Undertaker! ‘Taker informed Vince they had kidnapped his daughter, Stephanie! On Sunday Night HeAT, Vince tried to bargain with ‘Taker for his daughter, giving him a title shot at Backlash, to no avail. Later in the show, Shane led the Corporation in an assault on Stone Cold and Rikishi, trying to get answers out of Rikishi on Stephanie’s whereabouts. He refused, and the Corporation was left without a trace.
After the pyro takes off in the Joe Louis Arena, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to RAW is WAR. JR talks about two of the huge matches we have scheduled tonight, with them being Kane going through the Corporate Gauntlet, and our Fatal Four Way main event with Mankind, Triple H, Bradshaw, and Road Dogg mixing it up! They mention how the Undertaker still has Stephanie McMahon in his possession, but they really have no clue on what is going to happen later on tonight between the Ministry of Darkness, the Corporation, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Suddenly, the arena turns red and Kane’s theme hits, signaling for the Corporate Gauntlet!
Corporate Gauntlet Round One; Kane def. Pete Gas VIA DQ: Kane easily took Pete Gas down, but the other two Posse members hit the ring, causing a DQ. Corporate Gauntlet Round Two; Kane def. Rodney VIA DQ: After Kane fought off Gas and Joey Abs, his match with Rodney got underway. He hammered away at him for a few seconds before Gas and Abs jumped him again! Corporate Gauntlet Round Three; Kane def. Joey Abs VIA DQ: This was starting to get ridiculous, as Kane fought off all three of the Posse members before his match with Abs started. Of course, the other hit the ring again, causing another DQ. Corporate Gauntlet Round Four; Kane def. Steven Regal VIA DQ: After Kane get rid of the Posse for the third time, Steven Regal came out to give him much more of a fight. Regal ended up getting himself disqualified, as he took a chair and drove it into Kane’s leg over and over. He whacked him in the head with it once, sending him to the mat. He took out a pair of brass knuckles too, hitting him in the head once more before finally leaving. Corporate Gauntlet Round Five; Kane def. The Big Boss Man VIA DQ: Boss Man took the same route as Regal, blasting Kane with his nightstick over and over after only a minute of action. By the time he was done, Kane had finally been taken off his feet. Corporate Gauntlet Round Six; No Disqualifications; Shane McMahon def. Kane: Shane came out and immediately announced his match with be No DQ. This allowed Regal and Boss Man to do all the work for him. Kane did his best fighting them off, but all the abuse he had taken was too much. After the Corporate Team got him down with a few chair shots, they held him to the mat as Shane dropped an elbow from the top, stealing the win.
Shane celebrated his victory, dancing around the ring in his red “Big Red intellectually- disabled person” jersey. Boss Man and Regal celebrated with him, raising his arms in victory. Shane danced over the fallen body of Kane until Andrew Martin and Owen Hart hit the ring, causing the Corporate Team to bail. Shane grabbed a microphone and told the three men he was getting real sick and tired of their act. He says he just pinned Kane in the center of the ring, one… two… three! He promises to do it again, because they are going to put them all down come Backlash when they face off in a Six-Man Tag Match! The fans pop as Martin and Hart nod in approval, Kane finally sitting up after the announcement. The Corporate Team remain confident until the lights go out in the arena , and the Undertaker appears on the titantron! He tells Shane he’s no better than his father, before saying it’s a shame someone as innocent as Stephanie has to suffer because of them. Shane looks on horrified as ‘Taker tells him the Ministry will be there in due time, and tonight his sister will accept “The Lord of Darkness” as her personal savior! RAW is WAR heads to a break as the Corporation rush to the back following the Undertaker’s announcement.
Break
A replay from moments ago is shown, with the Undertaker promising Shane McMahon he plans on sacrificing his sister, Stephanie, to the Ministry of Darkness later on tonight! Backstage in the Corporate locker room, the members of the Corporation scrambling to think of what to do. Shane tells Vince he needs to do something about this, and not just giving the Undertaker what he wants! Vince snaps at him, saying he’s out there focusing on petty problems with Kane while Undertaker is holding his daughter, Shane’s sister, hostage! They get in each other’s faces as Boss Man steps in between the two, separating them.
Before our next match begins, two replays of the best of five series between the Hardy Boyz and the Brood are shown. In the first match, the Brood defeated the Hardy Boyz after Edge hit Matt with the Spear, but last week the Hardyz tied it up after Jeff pinned Christian following a Swanton Bomb.
Best of Five Series; The Hardy Boyz def. The Brood(w/Gangrel): With the scored tied up at one, these two teams gave it their all once more tonight in order to get ahead in the series, and we even saw Jeff hit an outside plancha to both Edge and Gangrel. The Hardy Boyz were able to go ahead in the series after Matt pinned Christian with a cutter.
The fans applauded another hard fought effort between the two teams as the Hardy Boyz were declared the winners. These two teams will mix it up again next week, and next time it’s do or die for the Brood!
Backstage Michael Cole welcomes the WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin, to the interview area. Cole asks Austin for his thoughts on the triple threat match at Backlash, and the Undertaker promising to sacrifice Stephanie McMahon. Austin sounds confident as he says he’s beaten Paul Wight before, and he whooped the Undertaker’s ass at WrestleMania, so he knows come Backlash Stone Cold is going to walk in as the World Wrestling Federation Champion and he’s going to walk out the champion. “As for Stephanie McMahon, quite frankly I don’t give a damn about the McMahons. Let me tell you what. If the Undertaker plans on sacrificing her tonight, Stone Cold is going to march out down to that ring and whip his ass.” He says he won’t do it for Vince McMahon, he says he’s going to do it because he wants a little payback on the Ministry, and that’s the bottom line ‘cuz Stone Cold said so!
The inaugural edition of Backlash comes to you live on pay-per-view, April 25th!
Before our next match begins, European Champion D-Lo Brown makes his way out to the ring, “Mr. Charisma” joining the commentary team for our next match.
Number One Contender Match for the European Championship; Goldust def. Mark Henry: On commentary D-Lo said Mark was the one who turned his back on him at WrestleMania, saying he cared more about Ivory than his 'best friend.' At the end of the bout, Mark hit a splash in the corner, taking out both Goldust and the referee! With both of them down, this prompted Brown to slip into the ring, creaming Mark with his title! He dragged Goldust on top of him and bailed, leaving the referee to wake up and count the three.
The crowd in Detroit booed, not because Goldust won, but because Mark Henry was cost the victory by D-Lo Brown. As Ivory checked on her friend, Goldust made up to all of the fans. D-Lo was strutting up the ramp, laughing at what he did to his former tag partner, when Goldust followed him up. He turned the champ around, knocking him down with an uppercut. Clearly, “The Bizarre One” didn't appreciate Brown getting involved in his match. He threw D-Lo face first into the ringpost, knocking him out! Goldust left the arena as Mark started to get back up to his feet, but Brown was still out from the shot to the ringpost.
The feed abruptly goes backstage, where the Acolytes are in the process of beating down the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal. The Jackyl directs traffic, and it’s clear the Ministry wants to take out the Corporation before they “sacrifice” Stephanie McMahon later on tonight. The Acolytes wail on the Corporate Team, Faarooq throwing the Big Boss Man head first into a wall! They grab the “Lord of the WWF” and lift him up, powerbombing him onto a nearby crate! The Corporation have been left laying by the Acolytes, and one has got to think this is only the beginning.
Break
Following the commercial, a replay is shown of the Acolytes assaulting the Big Boss Man and Steven Regal backstage, ensuring they will not be a problem later on tonight. Following that, Mark Henry is shown storming through the halls of the arena, looking for D-Lo Brown as Ivory tries to calm him down.
Back inside the Joe Louis arena, the theme of Rob Van Dam plays to a loud ovation, RVD making his way out with the Dudley Boyz. These three ECW alumni have seemingly forged an alliance in their battle against Mr. McMahon’s Corporation. As they enter the ring, Bubba Ray speaks first, trying to say they are Dudley Boys, but he stutters. D-Von slaps him in the back of the head, and he spits out, “We are the Dudley Boyz and Rob… Van… Dam!” The fans pop as D-Von takes the microphone next, saying the Corporation and Shane McMahon seem to have forgotten the three commandments. “Thou shall not steal! Thou shall not kill! And thou shall not mess with the Dudley Boyz!” D-Von says Shane McMahon has tried everything in his power to get rid of them, but he doesn’t have the guts to do it himself and nobody in the Corporation has the balls to take on the Dudleyz! Bubba Ray takes back the microphone, informing everyone the only thing he cares about is finding Shane, and putting him through a table! The fans cheer as RVD is the last one getting the microphone, saying he’s tired of playing games, and he wants Jeff Jarrett one on one at Backlash to prove why he is the “Whole F’n Show!” The fans begin a “RVD” chant before Shane McMahon appears on the titantron. He says RVD can have his match with Jarrett before telling all three superstars he doesn’t have time for them tonight, so he’ll make it simple. They are going to be competing in a handicap match, as Rob Van Dam takes on the Dudley Boyz! He warns them if they don’t give it everything they’ve got, all three of them will be fired on the spot! The fans jeer as the three superstars begrudgingly start the match, having no other choice.
Handicap Match; The Dudley Boyz def. Rob Van Dam: Shane forced the hands of all these of these men tonight, and “Double J” Jeff Jarrett made his way out with Debra to enjoy every minute of this match. RVD put up a good fight against the former tag champs, but eventually he fell to the Dudley Death Drop.
After the bell sounded, Bubba and D-Von helped Van Dam up to his feet, showing there’s no hard feelings between the three. RVD turned to Jarrett and Debra at ringside, pointing them out to the Dudleyz. The Dudleyz hopped out of the ring and chased them, running Jarrett right into a spinning heel kick from Van Dam! Vam Dam shared a glance with his cohorts before throwing Jarrett back in the ring as the Dudleyz pulled out a table! The slid it into the ring before all three men went back in themselves. Jarrett was helpless as D-Von and Bubba measured him, putting him straight through the table with the Dudley Death Drop! The fans cheered as RVD and the Dudleyz stood tall over Jarrett’s body, getting some revenge for being forced to compete against each other.
Sable is shown arriving to the arena, and later on tonight Michael Cole will get an interview with her, confronting her about her recent actions!

Catch the brand new WWF SmackDown!, featuring all your favorite superstars of the World Wrestling Federation, debuting April 29th!
We are taken back to the Corporation’s locker room, where Big Boss Man, Steven Regal, and now Jeff Jarrett are absent. Vince turns to Big Show and D-Generation X, the only members of the Corporation still standing. He tells them he doesn’t give a damn about Stone Cold, he doesn’t give a damn about Kane, and he doesn’t give a damn about the Rock ‘N’ Sock Connection. The only thing he cares about is that they stop that son of a bitch Undertaker and get him back his daughter. He reminds them how at WrestleMania told them all to not screw up anymore, and this is one night they better not screw up. Big Show assures him it won’t be a problem, and he’ll personally snap every bone in the Undertaker’s body tonight!
Before our next match begins, multiple replays highlight the first round of the Light Heavyweight Open, which included Super Crazy defeating Yoshihiro Tajiri; TAKA Michinoku getting the win over Sho Funaki and forming an alliance afterwards; Hayabusa making an impressive debut by knocking off Scott Taylor; and last night’s match where Rey Mysterio was able to defeat Scorpio.
Light Heavyweight Open Semifinals; Rey Mysterio def. Hayabusa: During the match, Too Much tried to interfere, but they were stopped by TAKA Michinoku and Sho Funaki! As the match went on, Mysterio was able to pick up the victory after a hurricanrana.
Rey Mysterio is announced the winner to a pop, and he climbs each turnbuckle in celebration. Next week on RAW is WAR Mysterio will take on either Super Crazy or TAKA Michinoku in the finals of the Light Heavyweight Open; the winner getting a shot at Brian Christopher at Backlash!
Suddenly, the broadcast heads backstage where Sean Waltman has been laid out in the catering area by Al Snow and Rikishi Phatu! The Jackyl stands over his body with a smirk on his face, before heading over to Snow, and the duo steals the camera, The Jackyl announces “The Crown Prince of Hardcore” challenges both Steve Blackman and Rhyno to meet him in the parking lot after the commercial break! Snow leaves with Head, and we may have a hardcore brawl on our hands after the break!
Break
Returning from the commercial break, Hardcore Champion Steve Blackman and Al Snow are trading shots back and forth in a corridor, apparently Blackman didn’t wait to meet Snow in the parking lot! The champ seemingly brought a kendo stick to the fight, but it has already been taken out of play. The two continue trading shots until Snow grabs the top of a trash can, smashing his rival in the head with it! Blackman is down and Snow continues hammering away at him before picking him up and throwing him into a ladder! He charges, but “The Lethal Weapon” sidesteps him, and Snow goes crashing into the ladder! Blackman tries to follow up, only for Rhyno to show up, and he throws him through a door! Blackman’s out like a light as Rhyno goes to work on the other man vying for a Hardcore Championship match, Al Snow. He clobbers away at him, hitting right after left to the head and spine. Eventually, he takes him and throws him over Blackman’s body into a wall! Rhyno stands tall, or so he thinks, as Blackman grabs his kendo stick and begins to unload on him! He hits him in the leg a few times, causing him to stagger, before hitting him square in the head! Blackman waits for Snow to get up and he measures him, clocking him in the head as well. Snow stand there, taking every shot he gets until Blackman is finally able to knock him down. Blackman turns around, and Rhyno blasts him with a Gore onto the floor! Now both the Hardcore Champion and “The Crown Prince of Hardcore” are really down, and Rhyno walks away from the fight victorious.
Michael Cole is in the center of the ring with a microphone in his hand, announcing that after what we just saw, Steve Blackman will defend his Hardcore Championship against Rhyno and Al Snow in a triple threat match at Backlash! The fans pop as Michael Cole introduces his guest at this time, Sable, electing another huge response from the crowd in Detroit. As she enters the ring, Cole introduces us to a replay of Sable leaving the arena while the Pretty Mean Sisters assaulted Ivory last week on RAW is WAR. After the clip ends, Cole asks Sable to explain her actions. She tells Cole there is not a single women in the world who wouldn’t want to be her, and there’s not a single man who wouldn’t want to be with her! Sable says it’s nice that Ivory is the Women’s Champion and all, but Ivory’s jealous that she is still being overshadowed by her being on the cover on the hottest selling issue of playboy! JR calls Sable delusional, and King tells him to shut up. Sable tells Cole to stand back, because her next move is for “All the women who want to be me, and all the men who come to see me!” She stands in the center of the ring, and she starts grinding! The fans cheer as she continues to dance in the center of the ring, showing off her body to everybody in attendance tonight and those watching at home. After she’s finished, the theme of Women’s Champion Ivory hits. Ivory makes her way to the ring, asking Sable what has gotten into her. Sable looks off to the side, blowing her off. Ivory says she’s been acting strange ever since she win the title at WrestleMania. She tells Sable if she wanted a shot at this, all she had to do was ask. Sable reinforces the idea that Ivory has always been jealous of her, and says she was never able to step out of her shadow until that little “twerp” showed up and handed her the title. She says it all hit her at WrestleMania, because Tori was the one who cost her the Women’s Championship, just to make sure Ivory could win it! Ivory looks appalled at the accusation, telling Sable she has lost it. Sable proceeds to slap her in the face following the comment, before turning back to the fans and doing the “grind”! Suddenly, the Head of the Women’s Division, Jerry Lawler, gets up from the announce table and enters the ring. He watches Sable with a smirk on his face, waiting for her to finish before saying anything. He tells the two women he’s already made up his mind, and at Backlash Ivory will defend her Women’s Championship against Sable! Jerry takes another glare at Sable, and he announces he will be the Special Guest Referee! Before he can say more, PMS hit the ring. Jacqueline has a microphone, telling Jerry he clearly has no idea what he’s doing. She says if anybody deserves a shot at Ivory, it’s her! PMS get in Lawler’s face, and he tells them to calm down. He says next week Jacqueline and Sable can have one final match to settle their feud, and the winner will face Ivory at Backlash! PMS and Ivory both look satisfied, but Sable fiddles with her fingernails and waves at the crowd, so PMS attacks her from behind! Ivory joins in on the fight and is able to clear PMS from the ring along with Sable. Ivory looks at Sable, but is ignored as she continues to pander to the crowd, trying to put all of the spotlight on herself.
Break
The announcers recap what we just saw between the women of the WWF, and they remind us next week Sable and Jacqueline will have one final match to see who faces Ivory for the Women’s Championship at Backlash, where Jerry himself will be the special guest referee!
The theme of the Intercontinental Champion, Val Venis, plays as he makes his way out with Ryan Shamrock, “The Big Valbowski” getting a mixed reaction from the fans in Detroit. JR announces his Intercontinental Championship match with Ken Shamrock at Backlash has been changed to a Last Man Standing match, per Shamrock’s request. Meanwhile, Ryan hands him a microphone and he starts with his usual “Hello Ladies!” He chuckles before going on, “You know, Kenny, I heard you wanted a Last Man Standing match with yours truly at Backlash. You should have asked your sister first, because she knows once ‘The Big Valbowski’ gets up, he never goes back down!” He smirks as he hands back the microphone and his title to Ryan, who carries them to the outside.
Non-title; Intercontinental Champion Val Venis(w/Ryan Shamrock) def. Scorpio: After being knocked out of the Light Heavyweight Open, Scorpio looked to make a splash in the Intercontinental Championship picture. Unfortunately for him, that wasn’t the case as Venis put him down following the Money Shot.
After the match, Venis celebrated his victory while Ryan Shamrock excitedly handed him his Intercontinental Championship. Suddenly, Ken Shamrock ran out to the ring, “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” chasing the Intercontinental Champion out of the arena! Val went through the crowd and Ken was sure to follow him, the chase was on! Ryan tried her best to keep up with the two, but it was no use as they disappeared from sight. RAW is WAR headed to a break after they left, what will happen between these two rivals after the commercial break?
Up next, Mankind, Triple H, Bradshaw, and Road Dogg clash in a Fatal Four Way Match in our main event!
Break
Jim Ross introduced us into footage from the break, where Ken Shamrock was searching high and low through the arena for Val Venis. Eventually he came across “Y2J” Chris Jericho, the man who defeated him last week on RAW. Jericho wasted no time in reminding him in the victory, gloating about how he pinned him one… two… three in the center of the ring. Shamrock snapped at him, clobbering him with a few hard rights before putting him through a table with a Belly to Belly! Shamrock stormed off the scene, leaving Jericho out in the wreckage. Perhaps Jericho’s plan of targeting Ken Shamrock wasn’t such a great idea after all.
Before the main event started, a replay was shown of Mankind stuffing Chyna’s face with cake on HeAT, with the Rock following up with a Rock Bottom!
Fatal 4 Way Match; Triple H(w/Chyna) def. WWF World Tag Team Champion Mankind(w/The Rock), Bradshaw(w/the Jackyl), and Road Dogg: Billy Gunn and Sean Waltman were absent from ringside during this match due to the injuries they’ve suffered at the hands of the Ministry over the past twenty four hours. Because of this, Road Dogg and Hunter briefly teamed up to eliminate Bradshaw at the start of this match. These four combatants battle it out for around eight minutes before Faarooq came to ringside and attacked the Rock. This distraction allowed Hunter to nail Mankind with the Pedigree, covering for the win!
Rock tried his best to fight off Faarooq, but an attack from behind by Bradshaw lead to the Acolytes throwing the Rock into the ringpost. Meanwhile, they tripped Triple H by his feet, pulling him to the outside. Bradshaw cleared off the announce table as Chyna tried to intervene, only to be held back by Faarooq. This left “The Game” helpless to Bradshaw’s assault, who put him through the announce table with a powerbomb! Faarooq threw Chyna to the floor as the Jackyl ordered his men to follow him backstage.
The rest of the Ministry were walking down a corridor, Rikishi holding Stephanie McMahon over his shoulder! Her arms and legs were tied, leaving her screams as her only defense. The Undertaker has promised to sacrifice Stephanie McMahon up next!
Break
After the final commercial break, the Joe Louis Arena has turned blue and the Undertaker’s symbol has been set up on the stage. The Acolytes and the Jackyl are already up there, waiting for the rest of the Ministry. Al Snow and Rikishi Phatu make their way out, Paul Bearer leading them, and Rikishi has Stephanie McMahon draped over his shoulder. He lays her out on the symbol as the Acolytes grab her limbs, tying her down to the symbol. JR mutters on commentary that the Ministry has gone too far this time, and they need to be stopped. After the Acolytes have her tied up, the symbol raises up a little off the ground, and Stephanie is practically screaming her head off. The Undertaker’s theme hits and “The Lord of Darkness” makes his way out in a cloak. He says he warned McMahon the innocent would have to suffer due to his actions. He says he thought a championship match would be enough, but the WWF Championship is no longer enough to satisfy him. He says he will be satisfied when McMahon has payed, he has taken his company, and he has taken his soul! He promises he will take the souls of every superstars in the World Wrestling Federation, and he will take Stone Cold and the Big Show at Backlash. He says the entire WWF will fall to the Ministry of Darkness, and they will all see “The Lord of Darkness” as their savior. He says it all starts tonight, with Stephanie. As she continues screaming, he speaks, “Calm down, oh little one. You will become one of us soon enough.” He laughs before telling his minions to raise her. They start to raise the symbol, but the Big Show makes his way out to the scene! He forces back Al Snow and Bradshaw, and he comes to blows with Rikishi. Faarooq attacks him from behind, and he falls to the numbers game. All four of the Undertaker’s minions unload on him, downing him on the stage as Stephanie looks on in horror. As the Ministry members hold Show down, he turns back to Stephanie and begins speaking in latin. Suddenly, while he’s in the middle of his sermon, Stone Cold jumps out from the back and tackles him to the ground! Stone Cold is living up to his promise he made earlier on tonight! The fans go nuts as Austin lays into the Undertaker, finally getting his revenge for two weeks ago! The Acolytes pull him off, and they do their best to restrain him. They’re unaware Big Show has gotten up, and he’s able to fight off Rikishi and Al Snow! He plants Snow with a Chokeslam onto the stage before helping Austin in his fight against the Acolytes. The two brawl with the former tag team champions, leading all four of them into the ring. Once they’re in, Austin and Show take full control, with Show dropping Faarooq with the Chokeslam! Meanwhile, on the other side of the ring, Austin hits Bradshaw with the Stunner! The fans go nuts as Austin and Big Show stand tall in the ring, successfully fighting off the Minsitry! The fans are rabid as Vince and Shane arrive onto the scene, helping Stephanie off of the Undertaker’s symbol. Vince and Shane hug Stephanie once she’s down, as Vince shares a look with Austin from the stage. Austin flips him off, but he ignores it and goes to the back with his family. RAW is WAR goes off the air as “The Texas Rattlesnake” locks eyes with his other challenger come Backlash, Paul Wight, and the two engage in a stare down as 'Taker watches from the outside, furious.

Wild edition of Raw wiht all the stuff with the Ministry. Once again you added your own neat touches on stuff that happened in the real timeline, such as the Corporate gauntlet, the best-of-5 with the Hardys and Edge & Christian and the sacrifice with Stephanie, and you've got some nice matches built for Backslash. Adding Taker to the title match was a good idea; we've already seen Ausitn beat Show one-on-one and this emphasizes the three way feud in the WWF between the Ministry, Corporation and everyone else. Solid job!
