The only way this even begins to be acceptable to me is if Elites at least still include them. In that case my whole collection just became elites from now on.

I don't like this at all. Now I have to decide if I should even display any of them on the stands.

At the end of the day, these are just toys.
Some of you need to remember that.

I mean come on people, I loved the stands two but people are actually getting so worked up over this that people are gonna stop collecting because a little piece of plastic and a cardboard name-tag. Its actually hilarious to be honest.

To be honest, I would pay a buck more apiece if they kept the stands. Especially the Legends.
What Mattel should do at this point to make everyone happy is to offer stands and a sheet of nameplates on Mattycollector.com. Those of us who want the stands can get them there. Print up a few sheets of names, several waves of figures per sheet, and everyone is happy.

Honestly I'd much rather pay a dollar more and get the stands and name tag. My room is slanted and I have figures that are sitting that fall over. I have figures that fall occasionally with stands. I expected prices too increase. Honestly with everything going up I don't see many parents saying a dollar more is too much. Plus all the stores around here are lower prices now then when they started and I want stands and can easily deal with an $11 price tag.

Sorry for repeating myself.....
SOLUTION - have printouts on there website of the new nametags. And sell the stands in lots of 10 or something on the website.
Probably what Mattel should have done in the first place. As that way only those who want them can have them.

Instead of printouts, it would be nice if they would send you a sheet of the name tags with the stands. They do that, I'm a happy man. Seriously, wouldn't mind paying an extra dollar or two if the figures came with the stands AND/ OR other accessories.

A better solution would be to just sell a lot of stands of the whole roster like once every 6 months for like 20 bucks. But that would never happen

While the bases were a nice touch, I never used them because with the limited space I have left they take up more room. With one of the 3 tier spice racks I use to display them on I can get 6 figures per level with the bases but 8 figures per level without them.

So if they cut stands out to keep the costs down in 2011 what do they do to keep the costs down in 2012? Either stop making new molds and just issue re-paints or start leaving out detail?

I've got a huge pile of those stands so they don't affect me anyway.

I think the biggest problem most people are having here is not just the fact that they like the stands and now won't be getting them....it's the fact that the company is "cutting cost" to keep the retail prices the same.
Everything in this country is going UP in price, we're not out of economic troubles by a long shot....and some of us collectors put ALOT of money into Mattel's WWE figures. And I don't want to hear anyone from overseas telling us we don't have a right to bitch because figures are XXXX more over there...I get it, this has nothing to do with that, this is a problem going on in MY country
So it's kind of like they gave us this bonus of the cool display stands, and now are just taking it away because of costs.
Obviously it would be silly to want little stands over detailed & accurate looking figures...but my biggest issue is that stuff like that shouldn't HAVE to happen. There should be other ways to cut costs but keeping things the same.
Why not go to 5 figures per set? and 2 different 2 packs per set. Less figures per set = less cost per set...then we all still get our stands & details. I know it's not my place to say really, I don't get paid by Mattel to make these decisions, I'm just a collector who has dumped well over $1000 into Mattel's figures in their first year.

and by the way....if this ONLY affects Basic singles & 2 packs...I can deal.
As long as Elites & Legends still come with the stands, I personally will at least be satisfied enough.

I'm pretty annoyed about the stands being gone and like everyone i am one extreme meaning we all either use them or not and I use them but considering in the less than a year mattel has been around I have over 30 mattel figures already so purchasing second hand stand isnt an option i'll need too many over time so as dumb as it will look I will just choose which figs need the stands more than others, it won't be cohesive but at least they won't fall and damage. A few of my elites ankle are so loose they can't even stand alone
