This really sucks. I've always been a massive fan of Edge. I didn't really know him in the Brood but have followed him from his teaming with Christian and then on. Like Edge said we have really watched him grow up through the years. His career stands as a testament to what hard work and commitment can get you. From his record tag reigns, to his singles push and his eventual rise from mid-card to the main event. Easily for me, most of the best moments in the last few years have come from him. I could even go back further to the TLC matches where he speared a suspended Hardy. An awesome career, he has the youth and mic talent to easily come back under a different role. Thank you Edge.

Crap.
I was hoping for at least one more 5 second pose with Christian.

This sucks, Edge was one of my all time favourites, really was. Just an awesome, all round competitor, he could do everything, talk, wrestle, and work the crowd. Seriously shocked by this, and I may be jumping the gun, but he's a shoe in for HOF.

I already miss him. I'm a huge Edge fan and will greatly miss seeing him. He's really the only reason I watched smackdown. A sad sad day indeed. He's one of the main reasons I wanted to get in this business and become a wrestler.

Very few times in life can someone say this and it not be gay.
I love you Edge, thank you.
Sad to see him go.

I've lost Shawn, now Edge...
Two favorites, that's depressing...

I honestly don't know if I will be the same fan without Edge around. I don't really get behind anyone anymore except him. I love watching him perform and now I won't be able to anymore.

Edge is the sole reason why I got into WWF/E. I've watched him from the beginning scratching his way from the bottom, lingering as a jobber all the way to headlining wrestlemania defending his 11th world championship. I grew up as child watching this guy. If you would've asked me who my childhood hero was; I would not hesitate to say this man.
Through all the rough patches the WWE product had, he was the only reason why I still watched the WWE. Even in his several times of injury, I'd still watch and wait because I knew every time he came back it was going to be memorable. Now he's leaving again 'cause of injury, but this time he's not coming back... I'm not going to watch WWE after smackdown this Friday, seems meaningless when the reason I watch WWE will retire.
Edge is the reason I stayed, now he's the reason I left.

Never his biggest fan, did enjoy the days of the Brood but can't fault his commitment and put-on a show every time, hopefully one last appearance on SmackDown this week with Christian! Thank you Edge.

I still just can't belive how out of nowhere this is. I did notice how much pain he looked to be in when he Speared Brodus Clay last week on SmackDown!. Plus, he has been talking about retirement for quite a while now, but if you were to tell me that out of Edge, Triple H, the Undertaker, and the Rock, that Edge would be the first to have his last match, I wouldn't have believed you. I really am glad that they caught onto it before he really hurt himself again, though. He deserves a life after wrestling. With him being one, if not, my all-time favorite, plus of the main guys who really got me into wrestling to begin with--hell, it's where the OTE name came from--I truly will miss him.

Edge has been the backbone of WWE for the past 10 years along with Undertaker and Triple H. I think hes going to be missed on a similar level to HBK.
Its scary to think where WWE will be in 5 years without Undertaker and Triple H.

For those still having doubts. It's not a work. I was at the show. After Raw went off the air Orton Rkoed Riley and cleared the Ring. Cena gave a speech about how much he respects and will miss Adam Copeland, yes Cena used his real name. He then said the fans should give Edge one final send-off, loud enough for him to hear in the back. Cena put the microphone in the middle of the ring and left. The entire arena then gave Edge a standing ovation.

I know WWE is all about "moving on" from the negative, but for a man that gave absolutely everything he had for the business and became part of the backbone of the company, especially in the last five years or so, Edge deserved to close the show. Anything else simply didn't cut it.
