As pointed out several times -
It's not about "wrestling figures" per se. It's about her blatant disregard for his property. No one should do this. I wouldn't stand for it. I also think he meant to imply that he was thankful the seller didn't settle for his first offer, because then the seller wouldn't still have the figures and he wouldn't be able to explain that his wife threw them away and appeal to the seller's conscience. He lost a hell of a lot more money than the seller did. Hell, the seller MADE money, since he basically got these figures which weren't his to begin with and then sold them.
And the fact that you say that you wouldn't collect if you had a wife makes me wonder. You're saying you can't have a hobby you like if you have a wife? This statement makes me think you've got a lot of the basic concepts of relationships skewed. They're about understanding and respecting the other person, and accepting what they do.
I have a girlfriend who knows I collect figures, animate, and have interest in the hobby. Needless to say, if she couldn't accept these things about me, she wouldn't be my girlfriend.[/quote]
How exactly did the seller get this figures, did he get it from the dumpster? Wouldn't he have bought it first from the wife?
Playing with action figures is not my hobby, it something I do when I am bore. I have a gf and she away all summer so I play with these action figures until she is back.

How in the in the world is him losing $500 to $600 selling it to you a "smart enough to hold out for more"? He lost money, you gain money, your only look after yourself and nothing more, and a bit egocentric as well. After this quote I can't take you seriously anymore, you only care about yourself. Now if I misread it, then I will forget my reply and admit my mistake. And lastly you have a wife, and I know wrestling figures is serious business around here, but no figures is worth a divorce. You people on here seem to take your wife for granted so much, it quite sickening. Counseling would be the best step for your wife if what you said is all true. I don't know what I would do if my wife threw out all my things, but I know I am not collecting wrestling figures if I have a wife. I rather spend time with her and do other stuff. How is it egocentric to want my stolen property back? I take exception to that. You really don't know what the hell you're talking about. if you ever step out of your Mom's basement, let us know. The sun is just how you remember it. I was going to apologize since your wording threw me off but with the above comment... Nevertheless as a man I can admit my mistake. It it not egocentric to want your money back and to the other above poster, yes I agree that hottodd lost more than if his wife hasn't throw these things out, and still haven't found all of his figures and probably won't ever. I am not a mean guy here, if I had your stolen good I would just give you it back, I would not take your cash knowing that it your and not mine. I got mad was I thought that the seller bought those item from your wife or went digging through the trash. You said she was selling them so for her to give it away was absolutely dumb. I may be a dick on this forum but I am an honest and fair person and will admit my mistake.

i'd hide em from her then make a new ebay and make a listing for $600+ for all the figures and tell her to buy them cuase someone else must've taken them and is trying to sell them. then when she buy's them tell her you just sold them.

The hobby's not so much about playing with them, it's more about collecting. I'm guessing this guy was a collector since he lost MANY CS figs that he said were for resale. I'm intrigued, though. Your girlfriend is away all summer, so you play with your figures until she's back. So...does she know you play with them at all? If so, are you NOT allowed to when she's around? Having a hobby means the people around you should get over it. It's YOUR hobby, not theirs. I think other people's hobbies are stupid sometimes, but I don't expect them to change them on my account.

It not a hobby for me, it more of a toy. Building things like computers is more of my hobby. I don't care what she think really, and that why she is attracted to me cause I just don't care. As a attractive young lady on our first date, I once pick her up in a really old truck and she was embarrassed but I told her to get in the car, and she did and we hit it off ever since. I agree with you on the last part, but I don't understand this a hobby since I don't collect them.

But I gotta know, if you don't really collect figures, how did you come to be a member of a board that's basically meant for figure collectors? Just curious.

The items don't matter. It could be a worthless collection of common crap, the problem is she threw it away, total disrespect. Sit her down and tell her you don't throw away things she has because you respect her and you expect the same back.

Why would anyone need 12 Steamboat and Rock figures? No wonder its so difficult to find some of these figures for a decent price when there is some of you buying so many of them to sell them at ridiculously high prices on ebay, I have nothing against people making money but I imagine collecting figures would be a lot more fun if there was less of you guys around,

As one of the seemingly few chicks on this forum I highly suggest that if your lady friend throws out your items that you should NOT retaliate by throwing out, breaking or damaging anything of hers. In her mind she feels justified. If you destroy something of hers she will only find something more devious to do to you. This is unfortunatly how most women operate.
She has clearly demonstrated a lack of respect for your property, and by relation, you. There is clearly something else going on in the relationship that needs addressing. You can not change a person so deal with what you can change and that is yourself and how you react to her. Personally if any man tried to pack up my collections of stuff I would happily pack his things up along with himself and show him out the door.
Unless you are a compulsive hoarder or have some sort of skewed relationship with your figures then she had no right to remove them from the house let alone throw them out. If she did this behind your back then she knows how you were going to react. Since she knows that what she did was either wrong but justified or just plain wrong you need to find out which. Either be blunt and talk to her about it or attempt to guilt her in some fashion.

I have over 50 Jakks RA and DA figures. I wish I was as imaginative as people on here who have their own custom entrance stage and ramp. I just bought the ESR ring so it a start. I am now starting to collect Mattel figures and I have around 14 of them.

This reminds me when I was in a relationship and the chick was threatening to throw my figures away if I didn't spend more time with her, cut her loose then an hour later I find out Michael Jackson passed away. I'm like "OH F---" now she resembles Adele but that's a different story.
Seriously dude, You need to be somewhat rashional if you love her a lot. Otherwise end it because she doesn't respect you or what you love, why do the same for her?
