^ Actually, it was 2 times I quoted him, not 10. Don't exaggerate the facts. And I ain't trolling. I don't even know what the hell that means. Sorry I'm not up to speed on all the nerdy internet lingo. I'm just voicing my opinion on this forum, which I have EVERY right to do, wether you or others like it or not.
Man, I can't wait for the next card. Bring on Shogun/Hendo!! That one will be an all-out war as well. I don't even know who to pick in that one. It's a "pick-em" for sure.
As for tonight's card, FOTN was definitely Guida/Henderson, as I thought it would be. That one was so exciting to watch. Congrats to Benson for picking up the win. I think he'll give Frankie a good scrap.
Overall, a great card tonight. I know I enjoyed the hell out of it.
And for those that may have missed it or just want to watch it again:

I think there was some Brazilian news website that said something about Junior's foot being injured, but I have no idea how to translate it correctly, since Google's translator is ridiculous. It was really interesting seeing Dana pissed off. Maybe he knows he ed up only showing one fight, or maybe he is just pissed that the opportunity to hit the Spanish market has taken a huge step back. He shouldn't criticize Cain's game plan. Dana isn't a fighter or a trainer. The fight was only 1:04 long, how did he know Cain wasn't going to do more clinches/takedowns? So bitter.

Didn't he say it was Fox's decision to only show one fight, and not his? He didn't up, Fox did if anything. EDIT: Yep. Guida's rep says they wanted to educate people rather than show another fight. Great presentation I thought, overall. Henderson/Guida should have been shown on TV. That fight was crazy.

Lol, Dana still seems butthurt at the Press Conference. And Junior just said he was having knee problems.

now that that's over i can now look forward to lesnar/overeem There's still a lotttt more before that man. UFC on FOX overshadowed the dream fight taking place next week in Shogun vs Henderson. Definitely looking forward to that one. Plus Wandy on the same card? Insane. true....wandy vs. le? totally sick...been waiting for that to happen

Dana probably is pissed because the fight wasn't like Bonner/Griffin which is a fight that brought in tons of mma fans. He probably thinks this fight may have brought a bad face to mma. I don't think so but Dana does seem bitter.

I think the broadcast would have been better if they showed more action from previous fights (not necessarily entire fights, but something other than talking heads to look at). I don't disagree that educating new fans is a good idea, but it can be a gradual process. If people watch and decide they like MMA fights, they'll get to know the fighters/techniques/rules on their own timetable.
I think using too much of a one-hour broadcast to talk -- especially on a program where the main hook to get people tuning in is the expectation of great action -- is a misuse of broadcast time.
New viewers might find the info helpful, but it's not really what they tuned in for. MMA is an exciting sport. Let the action hook the new viewers, and the education can happen organically along the way.

I don't think so but Dana does seem bitter. My thoughts exactly. Problem is, there was no chance of that fight being duplicated, especially with two heavy handed heavyweights. I don't want to sound negative, but Dana had to be hoping this would hook tons of new fans who didn't know a clue about MMA. IDK if it worked, because 38 minutes leading into 64 seconds of actual action can't help too much. But who knows maybe I'm wrong. Then those fans won't be turned off until they watch a fight where "the guy in the tights is just laying on top of him" I did feel like there was a big fight atmosphere tonight. I'm glad to see they were able to get to this level of success, on their 18th anniversary no less

Hmm... it seems we had a different broadcast in the UK by the sounds of it: we had - John Anick introducing at the beginning, then the Henderson Vs Guida fight, John Anick again, then the main title fight. And then Poirer/Garza. I'm going to find a copy of the US version to see how it came off... we didn't get any Dana White or Brock stuff. I can't wait for Edgar Vs Henderson.

That Hendo vs Guida fight would have gotten so many other fans hooked.
Delighted for JDS however. Don't see him losing that title soon and if he does it will be to a certain man who isn't in the UFC right now.
Also Junior tore his meniscus 10 days ago. Was on crutches for a few days too. Apparently Cain was given a cortozone injection before the fight too, Joe Rogan confirmed it in an interview with Ariel Helwani.

Wow...I'm happy with the fight but will first time viewers be put off? If THAT is what puts you off UFC/MMA, you probably don't deserve to watch it in the first place. Hey, where did I say that man? No need to sound like an ass, I just said first time viewers might have been put off by 40 minutes of build-up to a 64 second fight. I said I'm happy with it, being an MMA fan this stuff happens in fights, but I'm talking the average Joe who has never seen UFC, they could either think "This is awesome, he got knocked out super quick, I'd watch this again" OR they could think "I just wasted my time for this? I'm not watching again" Plus I just noticed you cut half of what I said off in your quote?

Who are you talking about that's a certain man not currently in UFC that will take JDS title? Josh Barnett? Daniel Cormier? Fedor? Forgive me I'm shooting into the wind with these guesses.

I marked out when Junior Dos Santos won the fight. I think it was good that they wanted to educate the fans, but they should've shown one more fight. Maybe not the Guida/Henderson fight (even though I wanna see that fight since it was FOTN), but maybe they could've shown the Cub Swanson/Ricardo Lamas fight. I was disappointed that the fight only lasted 64 seconds, but it happens.

i'm a big fan of both Velasquez and Dos Santos so i was happy to see this fight for free. it would have been really disappointing if this was a big PPV match but thats the way this sport is. not all fights can go a full 3 or 5 rounds and thats what makes it exciting. all it takes is one good shot and the right moment and Dos Santos landed his before Velsquez could land one. i'm excited to see how Dos Santos reign goes.

Me and my older brother were both rooting for JDS last night. It's funny because prior to the fight, he said Cain needed to get his head popped and man oh man, did he ever. My brother actually made $20 off a bet he made with a long-time buddy of his.
I wish I could've got some sucker to bet me as well because I would've won too.

JDS/Overeem is my prediction. I'd prefer to see that fight anyway.
I think JDS will absolutely annihilate Lesnar if he manages to get through Overeem.
